    Spicy pasta
    Melissa M.

We came here to eat before the fiestas. The food was good, it would be nice if they brought some bread or something for the table while we waited for our food. The service was okay I feel like the staff could have been more attentive, we asked for water and waited a while to receive it. Honestly I feel like the highlight of the evening was the band "Everything's Fine Music" they were amazing. The singer had such a BEAUTIFUL voice!

Lots of seating on a Sunday afternoon. One bathroom stall. We were seated immediately. We ordered three dishes to share: spicy shrimp pasta with pink vodka sauce, wild mushroom and leek pasta, and arugula and prosciutto pizza. I love how flavorful each was. We used the pasta sauce to dip the pizza in, which made the pizza significantly better. We would come again.

The octopus has small portion considered the price $24 I like the salmon piccata, it's has great flavor and the potatoes are delicious. The mushroom risotto is also good!

Yum! Had the spicy shrimp as an appetizer and the salmon piccata for my entree. Great choice. Meal was amazing. Couldn't eat it all but there was tons of flavor in both items.

Comfy outdoor dining experience, good service. The short ribs is must try. Lobster risotto is also pretty good. The price tags might seem a bit high but the portion is decent. We got these two only and it was enough for two adults and two toddlers, with the complementary bread (which is super good by the way! Crispy and flavorful) Note: theres a 3.5% credit card fee.

I ordered takeout from Mizza before heading to the airport. The decor inside and out was nice, staff was friendly and food came out within a reasonable time despite it being pretty busy. I was shocked at the size of my risotto and the huge portion of meaty lobster it came with! So good. And also shocked at how big my pizza was. So many options to choose from but I was glad I tried the peach one because it was on the lighter side. I definitely overordered as I didnt anticipate so much food but happy to have leftovers for 2 more days :). Would definitely love to sit and eat outside next time and try more things!

The finest cuisine, incredible ambiance and the most attentive staff I've ever encountered at a restaurant and it happens with each visit to Mizza. Today it was our joy to see Issac who came over to say hello to us and ask how we were and what has been going on since last we saw him. We briefly chatted about everything we could before he had to attend to his tables. We inquired about T and Xavier and sent our best regards. Then we met Raphaela who was new to us but not new to Mizza as she has been there for five years. She is as proficient as she is kind hearted and treated us like we've known each other forever. This is what makes Mizza so special and why we travel almost two hours to eat, imbibe and enjoy our meals there. Before we order our main course, it's time for my Black Manhattan which is perfection in a glass. We followed this with their delicious Caesar Salad. The exacting combination of flavors blended to make an excellent beginning to a fine entree to follow. We were in heaven with our Salmon Piccata and Spicy Shrimp. The flavorful spices and ingredients in these dishes makes us wish we lived closer so we can dine on these exemplary delights more often but it only serves to make us look forward even more each time we make the trip there. As it was my birthday, I told Issac if he comes out with a slice of cake, I'm going to sing with him and the staff. I've included the video here. Gluten Free is no problem for Mizza as they accommodate from the first course to the dessert. They also have Gluten Free bread. Such care for their customers. Make no mistake, if you are in Santa Barbara and are looking for the best that this delightful town has to offer you in the world of fine food, this is your number one stop. Don't hesitate, Mizza is it!

What a delightful restaurant, our waiter David was friendly, efficient and so knowledgeable making our experience so memorable, thank you David! A beautiful sunny day in Santa Barbara, Mizza had a perfect outdoor seating area. Plenty of space for our party of 6 and lots of indoor seating as well. We started with Tuscan Dip that was a perfect bit that came with ciabatta bread but be sure to order more ciabatta bread as it was so yummy, we ordered the Creamery pesto with smoked chicken that was creamy and delicious, the Fettuccine Bolognese with fresh pasta that was scrumptious be sure to add some chili flakes will take it to another level!! We also ordered the Spicy shrimp with vodka sauce that was really tasty. My youngest ordered a Side Caesar salad and a Kids butter and cheese pasta salad that was phenomenal!! What an fantastic meal and the service was exceptional!

My sister wanted pizza so we stumbled upon Mizza and tried it out Checked in with the hostess at the podium and our party of 5 was seated right away for lunch time. Indoor and outdoor seating available here. We sat outside and the tables felt a bit unclean and sticky. I shared the Mushroom Truffle Pizza and was definitely sharable size. Loved the mushroom flavor, pizza could of used more truffle oil or flavor on it. Crust wasn't too thick and overall pizza wasn't too greasy -which was good. Service was overall friendly, attentive. Although we had to ask twice for chili oil. Overall, if in the area, I'd give this place another try. Live street music playing just a few feet away from our table added to the whole ambiance of the place, made for a nice afternoon in SB.

Wow. I cannot believe HOW GOOD their pasta is. The bolognese was good, but the Gorgonzola gnocchi was out of this world. Best thing I've ever put in my mouth. Rich, creamy, and cheesy, it was like eating a fluffy cloud. I cannot stress how important it is that you experience what I went through last night. Side note - I tried the salmon bow tie and it really wasn't that great. Disappointing when everything else was incredible. But hey, you win some, you lose some.

I have been wanting to try this place for years. Its always busy but looked cozy and inviting everytime we walked by. Happy to say we really enjoyed our time here. Worth it to sit outside, they have plenty of heaters and especially during December when the space and La Arcada are so beautifully decorated for the holidays. We had great service and the food was delicious. We got the sopressata pizza, spicy shrimp pasta, the Tuscan dip and tomato burata app. All we would come back wnd gladly order again. They have a nice big selection of beverages. I had a glass of sangiovese, and my husband got a cucumber mocktail that was so refreshing. Overall, couldn't have asked more. Cant wait to come back!

I recommend you order pasta at this lovely Italian spot. It's cooked perfectly al dente and they have an array of sauces. The service was fine, the decor is simple and a little rustic, they have inside & plenty of outside seating. The pasta was cooked perfectly & the pizza dough was good too. I will say that I wish they sliced their mushrooms instead of quartering them because I felt like my bites had too much mushroom to chew through on the pizza. To be fair I ordered the mushroom truffle pizza (which barely had a truffle taste..disappointing) & spicy shrimp pasta (which I didn't realized had a lot of mushrooms too). I still loved my pasta and just ate around the shrooms. Overall, everyone in my party was happy with the meal. I would consider coming back here while visiting SB and definitely recommend it if someone was looking for good pasta on State St.

For my entree, I ordered the Costolette d'Angello alla Griglia, the grilled lamb chops served with vegetables and mashed potatoes. The lamb was okay, but it arrived more warm than hot and the accompanying mashed potatoes were a disappointment. They arrived noticeably cold in the center, giving the impression that they had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. Unfortunately, those temperature inconsistencies distracted from the dish and even made me question whether everything had been plated and served at its best. The lamb chops were okay overall, but the execution left something to be desired. I also tried the Linguine con Vongole (clam pasta). The flavors were fine and the dish was enjoyable enough, but diners should be aware that there were some broken shell fragments and bits of sand mixed in with the clams. While that can occasionally happen with shellfish dishes, it was noticeable enough that I found myself eating a little more cautiously than I would have liked. One aspect of the restaurant that stood out was the atmosphere. The environment has a distinctive character and personality that makes it feel different from many of the other dining options in SB. It certainly adds to the overall experience. The service was somewhat slow during my visit, though the staff remained friendly and courteous throughout the evening. Overall, this place offered an interesting atmosphere and friendly service, but the food execution felt inconsistent. Between the warm lamb, cold mashed potatoes, and shell fragments in the linguine, the meal didn't quite meet expectations. There's potential here, but a little more attention to detail in the kitchen would go a long way.

The cocktail menu had some clever mixes, and the wine menu offered plenty (maybe even too many) suggestions. SERVICE - Overall service was attentive and effective. Add a couple drinks and you better contact your banker. The food quality does not match the price hike. The food is just okay and some dishes lack flavor, (pretty bland). Now if they could add a little flavor to the rest of the entrees. As far as service: friendly service and quite attentive with a few hiccups. Brought our bread, drinks and in timely manner but we had no table wear, napkins or sharing plates available. They never did bring any spoons even when served a saucy appetizer, or spaghetti. We had to request these items. Four at our table were served their entree but two of us had to finally ask for our entree after waiting quite awhile. Even though they did come and ask if there was anything else when we asked for crushed red peppers and olive oil it took a substantial time to bring them. This always makes the experience less enjoyable. Not sure if I could recommend coming here again. However the ambience is pleasing and they can accommodate large groups, which is nice. A 5 star for environment. Just wish the food was better quality, then the price would be worth it. Also I do need to add 5 stars for the dessert. Definitely recommend for a date night, but I could also see this being such a fun spot to experience with a group of friends. We'll absolutely be back next time we're in Santa Barbara!

Popular, over hyped just ok restaurant. Service was soooo slow and the paella just ok. Tomato…read morespread appetizer and artichoke appetizer were solid. I love a good sangria - this was not. My dining partner didn't finish hers. I ordered a second and had two sips. Expensive night out with mediocre food in a lovely space.

FOOD & DRINK - A large list of Italian favorites, many of them with the chef's spin on them. Everyone at the table in our party of five enjoyed what they had. The cocktails were also good. The wine list was short, but I could find what we wanted to have from it. SERVICE: Our waiter was friendly, funny, read the table well, and always showed up just when we wanted him. Dinner was served in a timely fashion -- almost too timely, as we'd ordered cocktails first, and were still working on them by the time entrees arrive, alongside the bottle of wine we'd ordered. AMBIANCE: The interior is upscale, of a slightly older vintage, but quite "white tablecloth" nice. NET-NET: OeL is a pricey pick, but a very nice upscale dinner. Everything went smoothly. I plan on visiting again in another 15 years.
