We were visiting this location from Las Vegas on Sept. 28th, 2025, as walk up guests, during dinner time without a reservation. We were warmly greeted and offered a table inside or outside (our choice) by the hostess. We chose outside and were seated in Paige C' section (our server). Service provided from Paige was welcoming, prompt, and attentive. We ordered two cocktails (Kettle/Soda and a Tanqueary/Soda), and the black mussels for our appetizer. Paige was sincerely interested in our parties back and forth concerns and questions and resolved any questions honestly and if she didnt have the answer she went back to the kitchen and asked for clarification and promptly came back with an answer. She did not seem irritated or bothered. We ordered Lobster Risotto, Braised Short Ribs, Filet (medium rare- more rare than medium), broccolinni, carrots, and mash potatoes for our split entrée and sides. The food came out hot, quicker than expected, and was 100% accurate. Our experience significantly outperformed our expectation. Paige C., if you're reading this, THANK YOU AGAIN. You have a quality about you that can be a model example for service employees of what to do even when faced with difficulties. Great job. We had a short run with mashed potato that the meat was falling off the bone. Never needed a knife and was delicious. Pizza looked good. Fresh young eager to please server. Every time we go here it's just nice and comfortable, food is delicious and I really enjoy myself. I came recently for my birthday and the servers were very gracious to my kooky kids (2 and 4 years old). They have a kids menu and crayons which is always a plus for me. My boyfriend and I had our anniversary dinner here during our trip to Santa Barbara. I was craving pizza, so that's why I picked this spot. He ordered the Braised Short Rib and I ordered a pizza off the vegan menu (Spinach + Roasted Tomatoes) with added pepperoni because I'm lactose intolerant and can't eat dairy/cheese. I do really love that they have a whole separate vegan menu! Unfortunately, the food left much to be desired. My boyfriend's short rib was pretty salty. My pizza was alright, the crust/dough was the best part. I can't imagine how bland it must be on its own without pepperoni to be honest! (And I've had great vegan pizza in the past and often get my pizzas without cheese, so those factors are definitely not the issue.) I would definitely skip on the pizza next time and maybe try a pasta dish instead. read more

The location is excellent, but unfortunately the service and food were a major disappointment. The food arrived late, was very ordinary, and the portions were surprisingly small. Even bread comes at an extra charge, which might appeal to those on a strict diet, but not to diners expecting value. To make matters worse, the restaurant adds a 3.5% credit card surcharge that is not clearly disclosed. It isn't posted prominently and was never mentioned by the host or our server at any point. Customers are simply expected to notice it on their own. Overall, when a restaurant nickel-and-dimes its customers, it's hard to have confidence in the quality of the ingredients or the dining experience. read more

This is a long time coming review. Mizza is a must have when we come to Santa Barbara. The staff attentive and courteous. There is both seating indoor and outdoor but I would recommend sitting outside since where Mizza is located it gives such a relaxing vibe. When it comes to the food Mizza hits it out of the park ever single time. I would be lying if we didn't have our favorites but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I should also add that I had Mizza catered for my wedding and the amount of detail that went into the catering was phenomenal! I appreciate the entire process. Indoor seating is very minimal, you'll likely have to sit outside if you come during busy hours. Food overall was okay. I'd characterize their pizza style more as a flatbread than a pizza. Best dish was the burrata and tomato with their bread. Worst dish was the chicken Marsala. Stringy chicken, overcooked vegetables...on par or worse than the chicken Marsala from cheesecake factory. We loved everything about our experience at Mizza last night. We were celebrating a birthday and it couldn't have been better. We had the Gorgonzola gnocchi, one of the spicy sausage pizzas and the arugula and prosciutto pizza. The wine list was great and they even let you have a few tasters before you decide. To be fair, we've mostly enjoyed their pizza. Mizza catered our Gallery 113 (G113) 50th Anniversary party by bringing a selection of 4 pizzas; and keeping them coming hot! Wonderful service by their team of servers who checked on us, frequently, as the gallery is 3 doors away in La Arcada. On a concert night, my daughter and I enjoyed the Prosciutto & Peaches appetizer, shared a side Caesar salad and the Lasagna Bolognese. Everything was delicious and a great light dinner for folks with a time crunch. After my April 3, '25- First Thursday Reception ("Outer Orbits and Portraits of Strong Women") at G113, we ordered Five Cheese, Butternut Squash & Gorgonzola, Wild Mushroom & Truffle, & Veggie pizzas. All excellent choices for my hungry guests. Next time I'll be sure to get salads. Try the Limoncello Spritz cocktail. Recently, we've enjoyed their Braised Short Ribs, Linguine and Clams. Both dishes had outstanding sauces that will bring us back in the future! We shared a salad which was delightful and plenty for two. Try the Violet 75 cocktail. I highly recommend Mizza. We plan to come back, it will probably become a staple in our rotation. Food: The two of us shared a side Caesar salad, spicy sausage pizza and the pesto pasta. We would absolutely get them again. There were so many delicious sounding items on the menu that we wanted to try, we will have to come back. The pizza was a tiny bit oily but not too much. I don't know why but I haven't tried this Italian restaurant before, maybe because when I have an Italian food, I usually go to "Chase " and today I had a chance to try. The restaurant is located on State street so it's convenient to have lunch or dinner when you are shopping. We ordered Veggie pizza, vegetarian pasta, meatball spaghetti, tiramisu and decaf latte. Everything was good! About pasta, I like it harder ( Al-dente). Latte was a little bit weak but maybe it's because I ordered decaf. I have come to this restaurant multiple times , with my cousin when visiting from out of town , and i was super excited to eat here again! Upon arrival it was 8:39 and we waited for hostess for about 1 or 2 , when she had ultimately got to her post, looking uninterested and glazed over and did not acknowledge us , until we had said hi to her, furthermore; she told us that they close at 8:50 although online it states 9pm, at that time it had just turned 8:45 when she stated this, when we told her that we were still within that time she still said "well we close soon enough" , by that point we were kind of just dumbfounded and left, if they're going to be closing earlier than stated hours , the times need to be adjusted, then hearing when my cousin called the manager; to express his disappointment, the manager HUNG up on him, and told him that the hostess said, in-fact WE were being rude and combative, when that literally never happened , it was a very low decibel and composed aside from the thinly veiled annoyance by the hostess, so to say we were rude was absolutely delusional! Delicious food but the service was poor and not attentive. We had a party of 6 dining outside for lunch. The food took awhile but was worth the wait. We ordered spicy shrimp pasta, Tuscan shrimp fettuccine, and pizza. It's an automated 20% gratuity and our server came to take our order, checked on us one time and we had to wave her down to get a refill on our coke. After waiting for 20-25 mins, she gave us Diet Coke instead?! She didn't mention a word about them running out of coke when she delivered it. I asked her if it was Diet Coke and she said, "oh I think so because we ran out of coke." She could've offered to refill with another option but left us wondering why our coke didn't taste the same when we first ordered. I'm very disappointed in the lack of service here.
