I've been to Mo-Mo Paradise a handful of times, and it's always been pretty good. This time, we came with a reservation for 11 people and were seated once everyone in our party arrived. The meat selection is fairly small, with only about five different types of beef and pork to choose from. The vegetables and sauce bar are all self-serve, so you'll need to head up and grab everything yourself. The biggest highlight is definitely the quality of the meat. Compared to a lot of other AYCE hot pot places, the meat here is noticeably better. It's well-marbled, tender, and delicious. The vegetables and other sides were fresh and good as well. I'd say the sauce bar is decent, I've been to plenty of other AYCE spots with a much larger selection, but this one gets the job done. Overall, the food is good, and I usually come here for special occasions. It's a little more expensive than other AYCE hot pot restaurants, but I think the higher-quality meat makes it worth the extra cost. If you're planning to visit, I'd recommend making a reservation since the wait for walk-ins can get pretty long. Parking: Easy. There's a large parking lot with plenty of spaces.

I've been wanting to check out Momo for quite some time now, I keep reading good reviews on SGV Eats. I came across their 'Star Student' promo on Instagram and thought why not?! Both my teens are straight A students and they love shabu! We invited another family with us, who also has a star student of their own. I also love that they take online reservations, it's very convenient. We were a party of 8, 5 adults and 3 teens. We sat at two tables of 4, right next to each other. I love their large portions of meat slices, it's so rare for AYCE. I wish they had a large selection of veggies, sides and sauces. Their unlimited drinks for $3.55 was a good value too. All in all, I think it was a value for the quality of meat.

Very good Shabu Shabu dining. Excellent service from our server Beto. The AYCE Beef and vegetable selections are very good. Like having four different broth to choose from. Reservations accepted

Came in on a Thursday evening for the first time. Place is kindof small and they asked if we had a reservation. We didn't but I would recommend making one!! We were very impressed! The all you can drink jasmine milk tea with yuzu strawberry lemonade and oolong tea anddd boba/coffee jelly was so worth it!!! They had a little farmers market bar area where you can grab your veggies and other sides such as noodles, rice, and wagyu curry. House and tonkotsu broth were great choices! We loved the udon noodles, chuck eye and eye of round!!!fresh and delicious.

First time eating at Mo Mo's. We reserved our table in advance in case there's a wait. On a Wednesday at 6:30pm, they weren't very busy which was good. Our server was pretty attentive and brought the meats out fast. Please note their tip starts at 18%. Ambiance was pretty good, with low chatters and spacious seats. Restroom was clean too. The veggie bar was adequate but did run out of items at times with no refills. They charge for drinks now except hot water, hot tea, and iced water (that comes from the soda fountain). Their meat quality is pretty good, specifically the eye of round and chuck eye. However, after a few rounds, the quality of the eye of round dropped significantly and turned tough to chew. I'm not sure what happened.

Our kiddo is a shabu shabu aficionado and loves them all but this place by far has become her favorite and I must say mine as well. What stands out to us is the elevated level of cleanliness, detail, product, utensils, food quality... the list goes on. The hostess was very friendly and welcoming despite the huge crowd that had arrived before us for lunch. The server was equally as smiley and helpful and explained how it all worked. We had not been to a Japanese shabu shabu and it was amazing. They had the most delicious curry I've had in a while as part of their self serve appetizer and veggie bar. They also had a drink station with milk teas, bobas in diff flavors, and craft soda bar. Their meats and broths were delicious! We will be returning asap!!

This is my second time here. Quite disappointed. Food: Everything tasted fine. The meats were thicker cuts. The vegetable bar looked very unsanitary. Everything was easily mixed together. Mushrooms were in the cabbage bin, kale were found in the tofu bins etc. The curry + rice tasted good. The soups were okay, but they were definitely lacking flavor. While eating the meats, I found a piece of plastic buried within the cuts. It was pretty disturbing on top of everything else. Drinks: The sodas tasted fine. I tried the Tokyo melon and cola. They were sweet and refreshing. Service: Our server was kind, but it seems like they're pretty understaffed. She was extremely busy, and we would have a hard time flagging her. She was speed walking back and forth most of the time. Parking: There's a free parking lot in the back of the plaza. Lots of space. Overall: Make sure you have a reservation. For around $50 AYCE, I feel like I could've had a better experience elsewhere. The workers looked stressed out/overworked. The cuts of meat were pretty thick. The AYCE bar looked unsanitary. The options were also quite less than most other AYCE shabu restaurants.

AYCE place. Fresh and keep it coming! Meal time is limited to 90mins so you don't get seated until everyone in your party arrives and clock would start ticking then. My favorite soup base here is sukiyaki with chuck eye. They also provide raw egg when ask. Those eggs are huge with orange yolk. The meal also comes with a scope of ice cream to end the experience. Table, countertop and floor is clean. Servers are friendly and responsive. Covered parking in the back.

Pork belly, short plate, tonkotsu broth, sukiyaki broth

Tonkotsu broth was so good! Short plate and pork belly meats were fresh and also really good. The self service station was organized and clean, with the curry option at self serve also being very flavorful. Ice cream at the end was a nice touch. Refillable drinks (soda, tea, lemonade) for only $2 extra. Ponzu sauce had to be served to us instead of being available at sauce station, which was small and only had sesame sauce with spice options. There's a parking structure next door so parking was easy to navigate. I would say to make a reservation because I did see a few folks having to wait a while to be seated. Service was quick for food and to pay at the end. Rating 4/5 because self serve bar seemed a lacking compared to other places in the area.

My first time at momo & wow, it is sooo DELICIOUS! They have a variety of sides you can freely grab & also a make your own sauce/grab your own drinks on the side. I love the choice of choosing between different broths. My side of the table ordered sukiyaki & tonkotsu broth. Sukiyaki is a sweeter, savory broth while tonkotsu is a creamy pork bone broth. I do prefer the tonkotsu because it match my taste buds more, but the sweeter broth was a great change and they give you broth water on the side if flavor is too strong or your soup evaporates. The sauces they offer blends so nicely with the meat. They also gives you a raw egg go stir and dip with your meat the japanese way. Meat quality was fresh & amazing, cannot complain, I had a great time! Service was friendly & they give you icecream at the end which is perfect hehe, loved it here & would definitely come again , great atmosphere, I love japanese shabu-shabu!

Today (Sunday, August 16), me and my boyfriend went to this restaurant as usual. I come here regularly, and this is actually one of my favorite shabu restaurants. I've been here many times, and up until today, I've always been happy with both the food and the service. But today was very different from my previous experiences. We had been eating for about 50 minutes. We had already put a full pot of meat in and were waiting for it to cook when an Asian female server came over and told us it was the last call for meat, even though we still had a full pot of meat on the table (as shown in the photo I posted). I would understand if we had finished all the meat on the table and weren't ordering anything else, or if we had already been sitting there for a long time. But at that point, we had only been there for about 50 minutes, and more importantly, we still had a full pot of meat that we were actively eating. Yet we were already being told it was the last call. We told the server that we were okay and didn't want to order anything else. We continued eating for a little while, and while we were still eating the meat that was already in the pot, less than 10 minutes later, the same server came over and asked if we wanted to order ice cream now or if we wanted her to come back later. My boyfriend and I were very confused because we were literally still eating. We had food in our mouths and were still chewing. It's not like we had put our utensils down, stopped eating, and were ready for dessert. If that had been the case, I would have completely understood the server asking about dessert. A little while later, when we had started slowing down and were nearly finished eating, the same server came over again and said it was the last call for ice cream, meaning that if we didn't order it at that moment, we wouldn't be able to have it. By that point, we didn't even feel like continuing to enjoy our meal anymore because we felt so rushed and pressured, so we decided not to get the ice cream. Overall, I feel like this was the worst experience I've ever had at this restaurant. To be completely honest, I also work at an AYCE restaurant myself, so I fully understand time limits. I have no problem with a time limit, and I would never intentionally stay longer than necessary, especially when the restaurant is busy. But in this situation, we were genuinely still eating, and we still had a full pot of meat. When the server told us it was the last call, we had only been there for about 50 minutes. It made me feel like we were being pressured to hurry up, finish our food, and leave. What bothered me the most was that the server came to ask about ice cream twice while we were still eating, and the first time, we still had a full pot of meat in front of us. It made us feel like we couldn't comfortably enjoy our meal. We were seated at around 6:10 PM and finished eating and paid around 7:15-7:20 PM, so we were only there for about an hour. I'm not sure if we stayed too long and that was the reason the server felt the need to rush us that much. But based on this experience, I was extremely disappointed with the service. This was the first time I ever left this restaurant feeling genuinely unhappy and unimpressed.

Came here with parents since we haven't ate hotpot in a while and didn't know what to eat. We came on a weekday for dinner so it wasn't crowded. However, I still made a reservation online since I saw a few reviews mentioned reserving ahead of time to mininize wait time. Luckily, it wasn't full when we arrived so the reservation wasn't actually needed but it did get more full later in the night so a reservation would be helpful if you plan to eat later at night during the peak times and especially during the weekends. Anyhow, we were seated quickly and got a table with two stoves and we could use both for four people. I got the Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki broths while my parents got the Shabu Shabu and Tomato. And we got the Momo experience since it has a good assortment of meats. Our server was friendly in explaining the menu and had pretty fast service. Once we ordered the meat, they were served quickly too which was nice so you didn't have to wait long in between. The meat quality was pretty good but we noticed that the quality for the Chuck Eye got worse towards the end of our meal even though it started off really good. Not sure if that was on purpose or just a bad batch of beef but it was disappointing since it wasn't as tender and was tough to chew so I couldn't eat some of it. The broths were also pretty good. The Sukiyaki is a bit salty if you let the veggies and meat sit inside for too long so warning about that, but it was flavorful enough to not dip in sauces. I liked the Shabu Shabu more since it is more clear and not strong. Also, they have a drink section for unlimited drinks if you pay extra which I didn't opt for but they do let you order free hot tea or hot water unless you want cold water then it is at the soda fountain. Sad that they now charge for drinks. They also have a self-serve veggie bar which has decent amount of veggies and other hotpot ingredients but it is a smaller variety compared to some other all you can eat hotpots I have been to. They also have free ice cream at the end of the meal which is just 1 scoop of the flavors they have available. Nothing special. Overall, this is decent hotpot choice if you like Japanese style hotpot. The meat quality is okay but doesn't seem consistent on each platter. Also not many veggies to choose from. After trying this place, I realize I like Chinese hotpot better so I don't think I will come back here again but I guess it was worth trying.

It's become a tradition to celebrate New Year's Eve dinner at Mo Mo Paradise with my in-laws, and this year was our first time visiting the Arcadia location. We had a 6:30pm reservation and were seated shortly after arriving, which was much appreciated on a busy NYE evening. The restaurant itself is spacious and clean, with ample free parking in the parking structure (huge plus!). Mel was our server and she was absolutely fantastic. She was friendly, attentive, and somehow managing five tables at once without missing a beat. She cleared our table promptly and stayed on top of taking and checking in on our order the entire time. You could tell she really cared about providing great service, even during a rush. Weekend dinner is $38.99/pp. You can also add the non-alcoholic drink bar for $3.55 per person, featuring sodas, teas, juices, boba, adzuki beans, and coffee jelly. Overall, a great experience at Arcadia vs Rowland Heights. We'll definitely be back to this location again.

Half empty yet still trying to bait and switch promotion to lure customers and their children...

Ask the Community - Mo Mo Paradise

What is the current prices for lunch on a weekday?

    $29.95 per person

Have they provided pasteurized eggs again or still not?

Hi! They've been out of pasteurized eggs the last few times I went. Last went about a week ago- still out

Can you dine solo or is it 2 or more only?

You CAN dine solo buuuuuut it is much harder for them to accommodate for a party of 1 during weekends or peak hours. I came in solo in a Sunday around 8:30 and there was no wait or reservation required. They DO prioritize reservations first, I…

Is the shabu shabu soup vegan?

Yes. There is a vegan option

Do you offer Vegan options or cheaper price for vegetables only?

No vegan options as the options are limited. Contact the business directly to ask about pricing.

Does it need to make reservations?

It is best to make reservations otherwise you are left waiting until a table possibly open up if that happens.

Do any of their soup bases not contain gluten?

Nope. All contain gluten. I got a pot of boiling water.

Hello! do you have a vegetarian broth option?

Yes! I think there might be two options.

I'm a little confused with the menu, what is included with the base price? There's a double asterisk at the bottom corner specifying complimentary items but I don't think I saw any item with the double asterisk

Pretty much everything that's food, except the drinks. :) includes ice-cream as well!

Do you have gift certificate or card?

Yes, I believe they sell gift cards. Great present for whoever you plan on giving them to!

Does dinner ayce have better food or more options than lunch ayce?

Dinner AYCE now offers chicken and pork belly but the veggie and meatball, fish tofu and fish ball options are all the same.

I heard they charge an 18% service charge is that true?

    Yes it is true

Is the shabu shabu soup base vegetarian?

Not 100% sure but you can always get very traditional Shabu Shabu soup base which is just water and kombu (kelp/seaweed) and that is vegetarian.

Is proof of vaccination required to eat here?

yes, need to show picture of vaccination card

    Is it reservation only?

No, but highly recommend to make reservation on Yelp. Not sure about their lunch menu, but their dinner menu is AYCE & has a 90 min. time limit. If the restaurant is full, you might have to wait a while...I think they don't let you dine if it's too…

Do you take walk-ins or is it reservation only?

RESERVATIONS ONLY. GOOD LUCK WALKING IN.

Hi do you have set hot pot on weekdays, non AYCE?

Yes, they have a $21.95 weekday lunch special that is non AYCE and comes with 2 plates of meat.

Do you do lunch non all you can eat on weekend?

I don't think they do. I'm here now on a Saturday for lunch and they only offered me $29.95/person all you can eat.

I'm wanting to make a reservation for 9 people, however your booking system only allows a max of 6 people. Is there a way for me to get a table for 9, or are we limited to 6 people?

I'm pretty sure you won't be able to since the tables are fixed seating. The tables have the grills built in.

Hello, I saw on TikTok that you guys do AYCE, is it true cuz I can't seem to find that info on Yelp page?

    It is ayce

We made 3 reservations in the last 2 weeks since dineLA started. Anyway, we've been eating here on and off for about three years. The sushi is always better at the bar. Service is great and my only disappointment was the sushi bar being only for omakase at dinner time. I wish that was available for regular diners too! I ordered the Edomae Sushi dinner ($51.00) along with a Large Hot Sake ($19.00), and Negitoro Roll ($12.50), Torotaku Roll ($12.50) and an order of Chu-Toro ($21) The edomae dinner started with some appetizers and miso soup, all of which were delicious and uniqe to this restaurant. The sushi plate had some pretty different nigiri options that are definitely not seen across most sushi restaurants in the US! I enjoyed nearly every piece except for one or two - nothing was bad but just my preference. The rolls were amazing and filled nicely too with deliciously minced tuna. The chu-toro wasn't quite as fatty as I hoped (yes I know chu-toro is the medium fatty option) but it was still buttery soft! The house sake was pretty strong and bitter though and I was surprised how hard it was to drink, and I usually love and thoroughly enjoy sake! But overall, I really enjoyed this meal and would definitely return

The ambiance was also great cozy, lively, and perfect for a night out. Definitely a great spot to grab drinks with friends or family while enjoying some really good food!

We ordered the Assorted Sashimi, Beef Tongue, Salmon and Ikura Rice, and Hojicha Panna Cotta. Our total came out to around $158 for three people. The sashimi was fresh, with the Japanese Mackerel and Scallop being my favorites. The Beef Tongue was good, and the Salmon and Ikura Rice was solid and tasted pretty much as expected. The Hojicha Panna Cotta, though, was amazing and easily the most memorable item of the meal. It was also a lot of food for three people, and we probably could have ordered one less dish. The service and atmosphere were the biggest highlights for me. The staff was immediately welcoming and helpful in explaining the menu and popular items. The owner/chef was also very lighthearted and friendly, and the whole restaurant had a communal, neighborhood feel. Even around closing, everyone seemed relaxed and was enjoying their time together. Overall, the food was good, but I did find it expensive for what we ordered. I'd still come back for the atmosphere, service, and Hojicha Panna Cotta, but I'd be more mindful of how much I order next time.

The food was excellent. Second visit was on a packed Friday around 8 pm. No reservation, so the host kindly took my number and asked us to come back around 9:30. We ran a few errands and returned around 9 pm to wait it out. Over the next half hour, three different staff members came out individually to check on me and reassure me a table would open up soon. We were finally seated close to 9:30, and they apologized again with complimentary liver pâté, a cucumber chicken salad, and drinks on the house. That level of hospitality, on a slammed Friday night, says a lot about how this place treats its guests. The food matched the service -- genuinely great. Do yourself a favor and book ahead, but even the wait is worth it.

So they very much deliver on the quality and flavor. Great: -Excellent quality of ingredients and grilling by the craftsman at the grill. -The food has a great binchotan aroma, the house sauce/glaze is perfectly seasoned. -Immaculate cleanliness, the hood vents above the grill and glass in front of it are spotless which suggests cleaning after every service or similar. Not as great: -The oyakudon was TINY, the menu could have communicated the portion size better. I got a bigger bowl in the Japan yakiya, to stress how small it was. -Minimum of $80 USD per guests, either their omakaze which starts at $80 or a la carte ordering you need to get up to $80 worth minimum. -Our server did not seem familiar with the offerings and availability, she stumbled on questions, told a guest their favorite quail was available only to run back from the grilling chef to correct that it was not in stock. -It was not always easy getting the attention of a server. Other: We made an unplanned visit once and learned they do two seatings per evening and by reservation, a fair arrangement considering they need to prep and portion out skewers ahead of time but just know you can't walk up and expect to be seated.

They forgot entirely to bring my daughter's drink, did not bring everyone's order out even close to about at the same time (it was a large party of 7) and the server misidentified my meal so I thought they got it wrong. The chicken katsu curry and sushi were ok, but the ramen my daughter got had a strange flavor (we've had a lot of ramen) and my salmon shioyaki was not made the right way. Salmon shioyaki should be salted and grilled or broiled. The cut of salmon was wrong and it didn't taste salted at all, more like a piece of teriyaki salmon with the sauce scraped off. Lesson learned is that it's called Mikomi Sushi, so definitely stick with the sushi if you dine here. The atmosphere is nice with high ceilings and beautiful lighting and everyone working there is nice, I just found the experience disappointing and regretted that I didn't go to another Japanese restaurant.

First of…read moreall, they cater to all types of food eaters by enabling you to have full control of oil, noodle, thickness, salt, etc. Essentially, you are building your own perfect ramen bowl that meets your own standards. The best part of all, I think this might be the first ramen restaurant that is doing this so that's a plus in my book. Some other ramen places, albeit good and rich, may sometimes be too heavy for some people like me. That's where Ramen Nagi differs. They have the ability to cut down that "heavy after eating" feeling. Service was extremely on point and will come to you if you need help with anything without hesitation. It's a family friendly environment and has good lighting for those instagram photos which makes the food even more appealing to eat. I definitely recommend 1000000% if you have never eaten ramen this is like THE PERFECT place to go.

I would definitely do this again, because it tasted like a normal ramen and I wasn't left wanting more. I love spice, but would definitely not add additional to the red king. The pork belly was killer and would recommend getting that over chasu, the flavor had a hint of sweetness and the minced meat was just the perfect combo! - Black King 17.50 My boyfriend always gets this, his only comment was to opt for the thick ramen! The noodle texture here is always on point, their "normal" should be the standard whereas other places you have to request firm to have it done perfectly. The price is the reason why he always returns! - Chicken Karaage 8.25 My favorite chicken karaage hands down and a must order when I go. The sauce is a sweet soy complementing the savory chicken with a touch of creamy mayo! I opt for this over the gyoza for more protein, if you have the people definitely worth while to get both. Once you queue, the hostess will give you a paper menu and marker to line up your order. From there when you are seated they will confirm and the food is ready really quickly. This is where I would go for a quick sit down meal, emphasis on quick since the music is loud and theres always a long queue.
