The beef is some of the best you'll find. The really unique item that I can't find at other hotpot places is, their broth. It is really rich and flavorful. Their service is always speedy and courteous - this is important for an AYCE hotpot place that requires you to reorder your meats through the servers. The price is a little higher than other AYCE hotpot places, but it is more than worth it for the quality of the beef and the broth. Only small, small item to nitpick about is, the tongs at their veggies/ramen buffet station are not very good at picking up the food, you have to try a few times to get a sizeable plate of veggies. And, the ramen servings are very small. My kids usually have to get 3 or 4 each in just one run to the buffet station. But, these are the only very small issues I have with MoMo. Otherwise, it's really a very yummy, high quality hotpot place. read more

The ambiance here is modern, with beautiful dark wood finish tables that create a calming atmosphere. The service was very friendly, and since it was our first time, they took the time to explain how to order and recommended the best options for us. Now, onto the food. We tried the Tonkatsu broth and shabu shabu. I really enjoyed the Tonkatsu, but the shabu shabu broth fell flat.. It was almost like drinking hot water.. Unfortunately, they don't serve pork belly during lunch hours, but I went with the chuck eye and short plate, which were great choices for tender, juicy meat. The eye of round was a bit too lean for my taste. Be sure to hit the self-serve bar for items like rice and drinks (all you can drink for $3.95). The matcha latte was delicious! However, I found the sauce options a bit limited.. they didn't have garlic, sesame oil, or other staples I usually enjoy with hot pot. Overall, it was a pleasant lunch experience. If I come back, I'd stick to two meat choices and some sides to make it worthwhile. And don't forget the ice cream is included, so make sure to treat yourself after your meal! read more

Came here for lunch and it was $29.95 per person plus $3.55 for unlimited drinks such as matcha latte (don't miss out on this) and jasmine tea with unlimited toppings such as red bean or coffee jelly topping. Meat selection: pretty limited compared to other Shabu places but they have three types of beef and kurobuta pork. Pork belly is also available for dinner or weekends only. Broth: four choices available but I tried the Shabu Shabu (skip this if you don't like bland flavored broth) and tonkotsu. Service: Made a quick reservation through open table but also came here on a Monday afternoon so wasn't expecting a long wait. Was seated right away and ordered food within 2 minutes of sitting. First time at Mo Mo, and won't be my last. For a shabu shabu spot, the soup was standard and meat option was good. i love the cold bar of veggies and meatballs. Iono what kind of meatballs they are using but mann, i had so many. Definitely my favorite of the night. The food experience was 5 stars making reservations for a large party needs work. Other website they don't make reservations for large parties you have to wait for confirmation. Had people coming from different cities and I need to knowing we would eat here or not. I left 3 messages on the day we like to eat and no call backs. I called around 3:30 and Brandon answered and confirmed the reservations for me. I think this is more of an intimate place to have dinner if you going with people you don't want to share the broth to cook in then this is not the place for you. We all had to share 2 pots for 6 people we had 17 people. I enjoyed the food but the reservations on line is not ideal for large parties and when you call you don't get a live person before they open or even Dorothea busy lunch time which I under why. This all you can eat Japanese hot pot (shabu shabu) offers nice variety and pretty good value. It's an additional $2.55pp for all you can drink that includes milk teas and boba toppings. The meats were good quality. We really enjoyed the beef short plate, beef eye of round, pork shoulder, and pork belly. We did not like the beef chuck eye. It added a lot of scum to our broths. The shabu shabu broth is really light in flavor. The sukiyaki broth was good, but it was a bit too concentrated and salty. I ended up spooning the shabu shabu broth to mix into sukiyaki to help balance the saltiness. The tomato broth can be very concentrated and salty, so definitely another one to consider diluting. The vegetable options were decent. I noticed there were some items that just weren't refilled very often like the shirataki noodles. The drinks were fine, but I was put off by the cups provided at the drink station. Since there's a high turnover for washing dishes the cups don't dry properly and have a gross and off putting odor (think of wet laundry that's been left in the washer too long). Pretty disappointed at this place. I tried to make a reservation online but there was something wrong with their system, so I just did a walk in. Kurtis wasn't very friendly or welcoming. He told me the wait would be at least 2 hours. I asked if they could accommodate my mom's wheelchair and he kinda gave the impression that would be an inconvenience. We mainly chose this spot over other local spots because it advertised its milk tea boba drink area, but they didn't have milk tea, only hojicha mocha, matcha latte, and sweetened and unsweetened jasmine yuzu tea. They also only offered the all you can eat which was very limited to only 3 types of beef or two types of pork for the momo experience, or 3 types of beef for the waygu experience. I don't have a gallbladder so can't do fatty cuts of meat, so I asked was there a way to order side plates of other meats, he said no it's only AYCE for dinner. There were no chicken, or shrimp offerings. The service wasn't it, the food options were scarce, the serving areas were empty and dirty. Took my dad on a little father-daughter date to Momo and we had such a great time. This was our second time back this month, and it never disappoints! We love coming back to Momo because of its inviting ambiance, premium ingredients, and excellent service.  The quality of their ingredients and their service is simply unmatched. The tonkotsu soup base is my favorite and the tomato soup base is my dad's. One of the highlights of our experience was our server, Jess. She was so sweet, bubbly, and professional. She constantly refilled our meats/soup bases, bussed finished plates off the table, and was accommodating throughout the meal. I will definitely be requesting her the next time I come back, and I suggest you do the same!  The combination of delicious food and an elevated dining experience continues to keep Momo as my family's go-to shabu shabu spot. Momo Paradise is one of the best AYCE hot pot places here in the area. I'm surprised I don't have a review already but this was sitting in my drafts. When they had first opened here I was anticipating what it would be like and I know they were previously locations in Rowland Heights and in Torrance and my parents were always raving about how good the food was. With the Arcadia location having opened up, this is an easily accessible location.The most important thing I would recommend is to make a reservation on Open Table way in advance especially if you're coming here on the weekends. The restaurant self isn't necessarily that big and there's a link so many tables they can accommodate her time. I've seen it when they've been busy they've had to turn people away. I was surprised how good the food was here. We came here for lunch so we were able to choose the kind of broth reminded and the different kinds of meat. I am a huge fan of all their different sauces. But I mostly went with the ponzu and the sesame sauce that they have at the table. You get your veggies and other items yourself at the bar. Don't sleep on the udon salad dish and the curry is also something I look forward to. The beverage bar was awesome another one of my favorites. I wanted to try all of them so I didn't get full cups of everything. The yuzu iced tea that they have is my favorite. There's also ice cream at the end and the flavors constantly rotate so be sure to ask what they have. Overall, the dining experience is fantastic. It was cold so I've been craving for hot pot. We went on a Friday for lunch. *Pro tip: make reservation on Opentable. Usually there are spots available a day in advance. Even the day of early in the morning. My main review is about service today since the food was consistent and great quality as usual. We have been here several time in the past 3 months. But we had the best service from Jeff this time. My kid was being particular and had a fit about the table was dirty and some food was not cleaned up on the table when we first sat down. He wiped it and went on his way to get some curry. Jeff saw it and said we should just let him know and he can clean up right away. He was super nice and chill about it. Extra point #1 there. Jeff also brought straws when he saw we have drinks with boba/jelly without us asking for it. Extra point #2. When we ordered more meat during other visits, it usually takes like 5 minutes-ish for the meat to be brought to us. With Jeff, it's like within a minute. I was really pleasantly surprised. Extra point #3. The table next to us were several elderly folks. I saw Jeff was patiently waiting for them to read the menu and answering their questions. He even walked the elderly group to the drink station and show them the options. Extra point #4. For the meat choices for lunch, beef eye round is the favorite who want something lean with no fat and gristle. I like the short plate with more marbling fat. However, it could be inconsistent with fat/meat ratio. We had a couple of trays of short plate that are basically 90% fat. So be aware that's what you could get. Beef chuck and pork shoulder are usually good balance of meat and fat but there could be some gristle. Overall the dining experience this time was enhanced by Jeff's attention to details and his kind service. I made sure to tell him he did a good job as we were leaving. We will be back! read more

Arriving for an early lunch, we had made a reservation prior and arrived there right on time. We got seats immediately and was ready to get grubbing. The server was nice and introduce the menu and the AYCE set up (we had a first-timer). We chose our broth and meat and went to the garden bar to get the rest of our shabu ingredients. There is also a DIY sauce bar and a drink station (they have toppings to add to your drink like lychee jelly). There is also some cold dishes along with beef and rice. One of the worst Shabu Shabu places I have gone to. Food is mediocre, and customer service is the worst I have ever seen. It is always shortstaffed here, so you are automatically signed up for waiting. Making reservations ahead of time may lessen the waiting time to be seated, but either way, if you need something from the server, you may need to hunt them down.   Like I mentioned earlier, food is just OK. Typical Shabu Shabu restaurants with limited condiments and veggie options, but I think there are enough choices for everyone. You pay a couple dollars extra for unlimited access to their crafted beverages, including boba.   Other than slow service and not having enough servers to assist, their plates, bowls, and cups are not so clean. There is always, I mean ALWAYS, something on there that makes me hesitant to use it. I try to wipe it with my own napkin before use, even if it's not much help. It just makes me feel slightly better. I came here twice and my experience was about the same with no improvement. Server gave me wrong broth on my first and my second visit too. Getting their attention is extremely difficult which definitely needs to be improved but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.   Ice cream is complimentary upon request, so ask for flavors at the end of your meal. There is an 18% gratuity added to your check, so you don't need to tip them, but you still can if you wish to. A senior discount is available for 20% off the price, but does not apply to unlimited drinks.   Parking structure is available, which is shared with other businesses. There are plenty of hot-pot spots in the 626 area, but Mo-Mo makes it my pick for the most clean and simple option. I like their broths as it is not too strong, so it's perfect for building the depth. I also think the sauces are essential, and as someone who doesn't usually make/use the sauce, I really enjoy the sesame and ponzu. The staff is very attentive and always get what's needed from you. The ingredient bar is a bit more selective than other AYCE hot-pot places. That being said, I do feel that the quality is better and more fresh. I like to get a small plate of the wagyu beef curry as well. I also like to ask for the raw pasteurized egg to dip my meats in. Its all you can eat with the three beef choices, veggies, tofu, noodles (ramen!) and of course the pasteurized raw eggs- which makes the best sauce. AYCE Shabu Shabu for $35 on weekends. Includes hot tea but if you want fountain drinks unlimited for extra $2.55. 18% service charge. 90 min limit. Parking available in the adjacent three level lot. Reservations pretty much required. We had ours for 5p on a Saturday and walk ins were told no openings until 8p! There were a few empty tables either understaffed or just being held for reservations but I think they could have accommodated one or two walk in "floaters" to fill out tables. There's a 90 min limit but we only took an hour for two. For us we were allowed 10 items from the unlimited meats at a time. We got 2 of each except for the chicken (saved for the end). They were all thinly sliced and small so we can keep the food moving and fresh! We split the soup bases: tonkatsu and sukiyaki. The sukiyaki was sweet as described and does get into the meats. The tonkatsu started creamy but as more fatty meats got cooked I think the flavor got a little diluted (and I could clearly see the layer of oil!) We liked the short plate it had a beefy fatty taste and the pork belly was nice and fatty. There is also a cold bar to get veggies and tofu and meatballs. There's rice and beef curry with some noodle salads but ramen and udon we had to ask for since they moved quickly. Some garnishments are available but the servers can bring you goma and ponzu at the table. At the end you get your choice of a rotating selection of ice cream. For us vanilla, mint chocolate chip, and pina colada were the options. Overall great meal if you are craving some ayce! We were only able to order 22 meat plates between the two of us. read more

The meats were good. My first time, and menu only shows 2 types of soup bases. One is a dark soy and the other is a clear yellow colored soup. So we took both and the server did put the order in. These were of the worse tasting soup base. Then after the meal, i saw other tables have different soup bases. I think the menu is not clear. They should have put the other types of soup bases to better understand the options. Another conflicting senarios, is about the drinks. I like that this place was available during the raining season when everything else was booked. This is in the corner of Duarte and parking is in the back. It was nice and warm feeling when coming inside from the rain and they offer the plastic bags and buckets to stuff our wet umbrellas. Waiter brought us to our table and made sure we great right into the ayce. Portions of meats are decent size and the side dishes are somewhat limited. I was looking for specific veggies but they didn't have any (tong ho). They also serve complimentary ice cream but it does take awhile. Went to Mo Mo Paradise a week ago and had great time with my party of 8. Making a reservation was hassle free with the reservation system and they were accommodating even though some of our party was running around 10 minutes late. Our server was Raymond, a trainee who was very proficient and provided us with an amazing service experience. He was very friendly and made this my favorite experience going to Mo Mo thus far. I love the food at Mo Mo already and was the one who suggested the restaurant to my party, and so having Raymond be so helpful and providing such a wonderful experience made me happy to be able to show a lot of my friends why I love this place so much already: Great food with great service as well, truly the whole package. It was a lot of my friends' first time at Mo Mo so I was feeling a bit pressured because I wanted them to have a good experience and to like the food and I'm happy to say that they all loved it. I'm not really the type to write reviews, I really only do it for places that provide service that truly stands out to me and so even though I've come to Mo Mo countless times by now (I love the sukiyaki broth), Raymond's above and beyond service compelled me to want to write this review. The food was great and I as well as the rest of my party loved the attentive and patient service Raymond provided. I'll be looking pleasantly forward to coming back in the future as I already love Mo Mo so much. This Momo Paradise is located in the same plaza as 85C Bakery with a covered parking lot available. I dined at this location with my family 2 Sundays ago. My cousin made a reservation about 1.5 weeks prior online for a party of 8 (2 children, 2 seniors and 4 adults) for a Sunday at 12:45 pm. My mom and uncle arrived early. The rest of the family came around 12:40 pm and were seated a little before our reservation time. One employee walked us to the table with menus. He explained how it works (since we came on a weekend, the price per person is $34.95 prior to tax. Ages 0-4 years old eats for free and children 5- 10 years get a 50% discount. Senior citizens, age 65 years and older, get a 20% discount). For the shabu, you can choose up to 2 different broths (as they do have a split pot) for the duration of your meal visit. You are able to do all you can eat with your choices of 6 different meats (only one is chicken, the rest is beef and pork. There is no seafood). You can order as much as you like. Then at the Farmer's Market table is where you get your own vegetables, toppings, noodles, rice, beef curry, assorted fish balls, tofu, salad. You are also able to serve yourself water. If you want hot water or green tea, that is available upon request and also complementary. If you want to get the other beverages (iced tea w/ topping and fountain beverages, that will cost an additional $2.55 per person, prior to tax). At the end of the meal, you are can have a scoop of ice cream, upon request (per menu and complementary). We were told that automatically there is an 18% gratuity fee added to the bill (please note that this is for any size table, not just for the larger party we had). Service initially was good and the server that we had was good at bringing us our meat order for our shabu. But after that, we had to flag him down a few times. He also would just leave after asking for things instead of telling us he had to go help another table, for example. When trying to get other employees attention, they would just smile and then walk past us each time. The shabu broth I chose (please note that with this large party, we had 3 different pots, which was nice so that my husband and I could have our own pot to share), it was the tonkotsu and sukiyaki. I thought the tonkotsu was bland (and had to doctor it up with the different toppings from the Farmer's Market table) and the sukiyaki was too sweet (I added water to it to help decrease the sweetness level). The meat itself was good but I wished there were more selection. What I really liked was the Farmer's Market table with all the vegetables and such. I was very pleased to see how well taken care of this area was, as it was cleaned all the time and stocked regularly. I thought the beef curry was a little on the sweet side though. For the ice cream, I ended up picking coconut pineapple and thought it was really good (the other choices on this visit was mint chocolate and vanilla). The bill came out to $293.94 after tax, prior to tip. My mother paid for the bill and there was 2 discounted meals for senior citizens and 1 discounted meal for children aged 5- 10 years old (my other nephew is 3 years old so he was free). Make sure you check your bill because we were charged for the all you can drink beverage for 5 people. I didn't know this at the time since my mom paid for the bill and she didn't really look at the bill closely (but I had asked if she had received her discount for 2 seniors and 1 child). Two days later, I had asked my mom if my brother's 3 year old son was charged. She ended up sending me a photo of the receipt. Although he was not charged I was annoyed to see that we were charged for the beverages that no one drank. So I ended up having to contact the restaurant for a refund, which they did. But I just want to let you know this so you can double check your bill (as the server we had did not inform us and again, my mom didn't look at the receipt closely). The restaurant is very clean. The menu is elaborate, it even has instructions on how to do shabu shabu and what meat belongs to what part of the cow The side choices of veggies, tofu and noodles are plentiful. I visited here while meeting friends in the area. This is a local chain for shabu shabu mostly. My friends of course recommended it, and made lunch reservations since we had a group of 10. The restaurant was not super busy during our visit it turns out. I wasn't a big fan of the craft sodas since they didn't have root beer, and a couple sodas were not working. I ended up just getting some of the teas. They also include complimentary boba drinks with your meal. Getting the veggies, sauces, and toppings to add to your broth are fun the first few times, but after a few times of dipping, you figure out quickly which meats, veggies, and sauces are your favorite and just go with those. My protein favorites were two beefs: chuck eye and short plate, dipping with the spicy shoyu and taberu rayu sauces. Wasn't a big fan of their pork. Wow, the meat quality always amazing every time. I love their system when reserving a table. A quick tip, if you can't get a good time for your reservation for last minute reservations, call or text them. They always willing to help you out, usually squeeze you in for the night. Came for the soft launch of the wagyu experience and it was so good! They had 3 different cuts. The American Wagyu Round, American Wagyu Cross Rib, and the American Wagyu Chuck Eye. My favorite one was the Round. Something about the strip of fat at the bottom makes it really enjoyable for me. My brothers and I ate a lot of meat but I can say I got my moneys worth. For the soft launch, pricing was 49.95 with drinks included but after soft launch it'll be 54.95 per person. Not too shabby but I'm glad to see the return of Enoki mushroom by itself and beat believe I grabbed a lot of them. I'm happy to see some new additions like the Yuba Roll and fish balls with filling. Overall food wise was fantastic and can't wait to come back. Service was unbelievable as well. I haven't been here in a long while so our advisor Jess caught me back up to speed on all the new changes and the flavors of everything. She even recommended me combos on what sauces to pair with the soups and a detailed explanations of the meats as well as the new ones. Came by for a weekday dinner, had a reservation and we were quickly greeted and seated. It was our first time there and the staff helped us with explaining the menu efficiently. Huge shoutout to our server, i forgot her name but she was super nice and friendly, always checked up on us and got our meats really quickly. Really appreciate the fast and friendly service! A decent variety of dishes to get as well as meats. For soups we got the Tonkotsu Soup and the sukiyaki. The tonkotsu was really good, but the sukiyaki was too salty, so we actually added hot water to it to dilute it a bit The overall quality of the meats were really good. Especially liked the pork shoulder, the beef chuck eye and the beef short plate. Their beef curry over rice were also really good! I liked their ramen noodles, nice and bouncy with a good texture. Their sauces weren't bad, i wish there was a bit more variety, however they had a large selection of drinks! I really liked their melon soda. Overall would definitely come again, pricing is good for what you pay for, good service, and some nice drinks. read more

Warning: Do not wear tight pants to MōMō Paradise in Arcadia. This all-you-can-eat shabu shabu spot will have you in a food coma by round two. We came for lunch (only $29.99!) and basically rolled out afterward. Top picks? The pork and top round--melt-in-your-mouth good, especially in that sweet, rich sukiyaki broth. Unlimited dishes kept flying to the table like we were VIPs. And don't even get me started on the beef curry... poured it over my rice like it was my last meal on Earth.
