Was late at night, about an hour before closing. Still quite a few patrons dining and sitting chatting. Ordered a couple pies for dine in. Young lady behind the counter helping us was very kind and patient. As we waited for our pizzas, I was gentling leaning against the counter. The gentleman preparing the pizzas said, "Can we not lean on my counter"! I immediately moved away and apologized. There was no signage indicating not to. Every booth was filled w customers and many tables were being used as well. Many chairs were lined up against one of the walls. So we moved two chairs to use with a table right in front of it (less than two feet away. After enjoying our pizzas, we cleaned up the table and started walking out. The same person who asked me not to lean on the counter yelled from across the dining area, "could you move the chairs back where they came from", as if he was inconvenienced by us dining in moving two chairs less than two feet and leaving before the posted closing hours. Tried MOD for the first time and what a disappointment it was! Online Order was placed 3 hours in advanced only to have it cancelled. Store didn't apologize or make any attempts to rectify the matter after I called numerous times Store was notified and new order placed but when I attempted to give the my cc # Paula said she would transfer me to someone who would take the information. Needless to say no one came to the phone so I hung up and call back only to be told they can't accept a cc over the phone. This would not have been an issue if I was picking up the food but someone else was already in route to retrieve the food with the assumption that it was paid for. When the Pizzas arrived they were super small (personal size),dry, tasted horrible and paper thin. In addition I didn't receive my side sauce. Such a waste of $23.00. Would not recommend MOD. The kids and I had just finished a trail at a nearby park when my husband called on his way home from work. We decided to meet up at MOD Pizza for lunch before heading home. The concept is the same as Your Pie, Rise Pie, Blaze, Pieology, etc. They have a menu of their pizza creations or you can build your own. You pick your dough, sauce, toppings and finishing sauce. The pies are all cooked in a fire oven at whatever crazy high temp at whatever crazy short time to bake it. I love coming to pizza places like MOD, because the whole fam can all order whatever each member wants without sacrificing preferences. - TLC - We were greeted as soon as we walked in. One girl started the dough and sauce and the guy finished the toppings. They were super nice and efficient with the ordering process. - Noms & Sips - We all opted for a Build Your Own pizza with the kids sharing one. They were still able to put the toppings of their choice on their half. I appreciate that MOD lets you do that (most of the other places do too). I love to load mine with veggies and there is no limit. Considering it's a thin crust, it's pretty impressive that the crust holds the weight of my choices. Not sure if I have paid attention at the other pie places, but at MOD, when you go to pick up your pizza, they ask you if you want a sauce/glaze to finish it off. Since Hot Honey has been all the rage in 2021, it caught my eye. I asked for a very light drizzle, but shoot, I wish I would have let him do his thing! That hot honey was surprisingly good! They have the regular self serve soda station but had some other options like teas and lemonades. I mixed the Blackberry Lemonade with the Sweet Tea and I thought it was great! - Vibe - Love their positive message and vibrant colors in the shop. They have an outdoor patio and indoor seating includes booth seats. It was all my fault. I don't blame anyone at Mod for the "Hot Mess" I created at the Greenbrier location. I asked for a custom Mod pizza--no sauce or cheese, garlic and pesto with onions, peppers, vegan meat crumbles, and pineapple. And that alone, was good enough. But nooooooo, I wanted more. As the piping hot pizza came out the oven, I wanted more. "Can you top it with hot honey, please? And don't be shy with the honey either!" And right then....I "messed up"! The hot honey was drizzled around the edges of the crust; it was zig zagged all over it too. It was popped into the box and the 12 min drive home was going to end with delicious pizza. The heat and steam off that pizza made the hot honey runny; and honey child (pun intended), that honey ran off that pizza, down the side of the box and right into my lap! Honey was on my thighs, it slid over my knees, it dripped into my boots and soaked my socks! I ran in the house, and placed the honey drenched pizza box IN THE KITCHEN SINK! Yes, The box was so juicy, I had to place it IN the sink. And the first bite of this hot honey, pesto, garlic, onion, pepper and pineapple pizza was HANDS DOWN the absolute BEST pizza I have ever had! It was messy, and sticky, and gooey, and I would DO IT ALL AGAIN! So the reason why I decided to come here today is because I heard they make cauliflower crust pizza. They also have ideas for pizza creations if you are not quiet sure what to put on your pizza. The crust is thin and pizza bakes quickly. They have fountain drink options, fresh lemonade/ice tea, beer and wine beverages. I think their lemonade it definitely worth a try. We ordered 3 items 'build your own'. The Greek salad with the extras we asked for was fantastic except for the olives. The photograph shows what appears to be Kalamatra olives. What we got was caned grocery store black olives. Now for the pizzas. We ordered the 'mega' crust: good chew, not over cooked, a joy to behold, the crust was great. We ordered extra meats and cheeses on one and the other just sauce, cheese, black olives, and Canadian bacon. The toppings were skimpy to non-existent. We could not find any Canadian bacon, no onions on the one, italian sausage was scarce, and no basil, The pies, cut in 6 slices, only had 15 slices of peperoni cut so thin you could see through it. the Pizzas were very disappointing. My family and I went to MOD on a Sunday late afternoon, around 430. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the staff. It wasn't super busy, only 3 people ahead of us. As with most restaurants they are understaffed, there was a note on the door indicating as such. The manager was helping the staff getting things going, with making/rolling dough, getting orders started. Good teamwork and good for customer satisfaction. You can order from the menu board OR you can "mod"ify a pizza to however you want it! I had the Caspian, which is chicken with barbecue sauce. My little one had the Maddy- cheese pizza and my husband created his own: spicy marinara sauce with various toppings- and drizzle of Sri-rancha sauce. We also had the cheesy garlic bread to share. The line moved quickly, the food came out fast. Everything was delicious!! (As always) I always get the lemonade, it's really good. Personally I usually add a splash of the Marionberry lemonade to the regular lemonade- delish!!! I've never had a bad meal or bad experience at any MOD location. I love the thinness and fresh ingredients. Now on my first visit, by time we reached the counter to place our order we were told, "we are currently out of dough, we only have two mini's left" - How so?? Someone clearly dropped the ball. But the restaurant has been opened all day... craziness. It was our first time, so minis were good for us anyway. After about 10 minutes or less... our to go was all set. I placed 2 pick up orders for 12:00pm. One order was sitting on the shelf ready to be picked up. The other wasn't ready until 12:15. By that time my food for my first order was cold. The cheese sticks weren't hot at all. The pizza wasn't that great either. They should've kept it under a warmer. They also didn't even give me the drinks for the second order OR the red sauce for the cheese sticks. The worst part... Nobody spoke to me until my food was ready. The young man called another lady for her order but didn't even acknowledge me. Bad experience all around. We ended up getting 2 mod sized pizza for only $7.87 per pie. We ordered the Mad Dog and the staff made me a pie that is similar to Hawaiian BBQ. We also ordered the garlic strips with pesto sauce, red sauce, and ranch. With the drinks, our total was just around $24, which really impressed us because we ordered a lot. Having all the topping we want in our pizza made our experience better. The pizza was very delicious. The only thing that I didn't like is the way they sliced the pizza. They sliced it into 4 so the slices were a little big. Next time, I plan to just tell them to slice it into 6 or 8 to make it a little smaller. The staff were very helpful. I like how they offer suggestions to us. For first timers, it can get a little bit overwhelming and confusing, but the MOD staff made sure our experience will be a pleasant one. We have food allergies so being able to find a vegan pizza was literally amazing but I was curious to see how it would taste! Yay to a new pizza bar in Chesapeake. It's the rave these days. It's off Battlefield Blvd in the new shopping strip with Mission BBQ and Duck Donuts. Mod has been open for a week or so and I wanted to finally try the place out. On this day, there was a 50% off pizza special and everybody must have heard about it because it was packed!! Like other pizza bars such as Yourpie, Mypie, or Blaze you pick your dough, sauce, meat, and other toppings. They do have gluten free dough!! Yay! The Pizza is 11 inch thin style cooked in a 800 degree fire oven. Going through the line, the staff was rushing the customers to hurry up and make a decision! Sheeeshhh... no time to look at the toppings and read the menu board. It's unlimited toppings for the same price. With that said, they were so stingy on the ingredients! I had to ask for a little more toppings because they tried to give me just two pepperoni on my pizza. Like really?!! I've been to plenty of pizza bars and this was the most stressful experience. Pizza was good!! I ordered a gluten free pesto sauce, cheese, Italian sausage, pepperoni, green peppers, olives, and red onions. Veggies were fresh and meat very flavorful. My pizza was not salty or greasy. My husband cheese, pepperoni, and Italian sausage was also good but remember how I said they were stingy on the ingredients? Half the pizza didn't have cheese!!! LOL! They went ahead and cooked another pizza for free. The staff that was walking around cleaning up and assisting customers were very friendly and helpful! They kept the tables and drinking station clean. So 4 Stars for good tasting pizza, despite the stingy toppings, and trying to make us happy by making another pizza. We came on Thursday for their soft opening and were greeted with an abundantly joyful staff! Everyone was quick to explain the concept of MOD (Made on Demand) Pizza to us so there would be no confused when we made it to the front of the line. At MOD you can make your own pizza or pick one of their preset menu items. We learned from Latoya that the owners of this restaurant have four sons and each one of them have a classic pizza named after them. There a few other little personalized touches like that throughout the joint which I really appreciate. I decided to go with the caspian and it was delicious. At first glance I didn't think my pizza was big enough or had enough ingredients to be satisfying but it was very flavorful and filling. For those that are adventurous enough to make their own pizza you'll be happy to know you can have as many toppings as you want and the price doesn't change. I was really impressed with the large wood fire oven in this place. I didn't expect it from a chain restaurant. It really doesn't feel like a chain restaurant either, it has a beautiful big seating area that's very clean and pleasing to the eye. The pizza is really good. I built my own and added almost everything and it was fabulous. There's so many options I really think anyone would be happy with the results. If you want a low carb option the salads are great as well. I'm now a rewards member and I'll definitely be back. The only reason I couldn't give five starts today was the person at the oven putting together the to go orders wasn't very helpful. MOD--this is one of those places where you can get unlimited toppings for a single price. They pass your pizza down the line and you can pick sauce, cheese, meat, and veggies (think Subway style). When you get to the end of the line, after your pizza comes out of the oven, you can even add finishing sauces! We have several different chains in Hampton Roads with this concept but MOD has been my favorite so far...it was so good!
