I live close by here so it's my go to place when I crave pizza l. The prices are great except I believe they increased their prices. Usually I like to get a salad and put whatever I want on there and my fiancé gets the different kind of premade pizzas they had on the menu. One time the romaine salad was browning so the salad didn't taste that great. Last night we ordered a Lucy sunshine it was very very good. It had white cheese with dollops of red sauce chicken, artichokes and garlic. Although it was really good, I didn't really like how it was so drippy from the oils or what not lol. read more

came here yesterday with a couple friends. it was the first time i've been to a build your own pie place and i have got to say that mod pizza has set the expectation bar pretty high. not only does the pizza taste great (love the thin crust), but the service is just as amazing! the workers are so friendly and they really make the experience a pleasant one. from what i can tell, this place will do just fine. of course this is a new location so I will probably come back in a month or so to see if they're still doing well :-) tip: if you order the garlic strips, eat those first cause they cool down a lot faster than the pizza! and trust me, they taste better hot than cold. i also always get spinach on my pizza, if not to compensate for my eating pizza, then to add some color for the aesthetic of my photos plus it tastes pretty good too so yeah they have pepper flakes, parmesan, and oregano? in little jars by the drinks which you can sprinkle on your pizza too! i mean, if you're into that.. just don't forget to top your pizza while it's still hot!! read more

Three stars, but really they deserve 3.5. So after my last review, I was invited by a MOD rep to try them again. My husband and I took lunch out today. When we arrived, no one was in line, we ordered two pizzas, I made my own, a mod with peperoni, olives and mushrooms. My husband ordered a mega Caspian. We also ordered garlic strips. Again, the service left much to be desired. All the employees we encountered were nice and polite but the process was very slow and one employee was making our order while many were standing around talking. When our pizzas were being cooked, one guy was cooking, cutting, topping with finishing sauce and packing up the pizzas while many other employees stood around. I think the employees could use some more training of the process, especially if the slogan is "super fast". And there disnt seem to be anyone in a leadership role. The process would go much smoother if employees worked as a team. Now, all that being said, the food was FABULOUS! The garlic strips had wonderful flavor and were buttery, light and crisp. My pizza was perfectly cooked and tasted very fresh. My husband commented that his was cooked very well. The choice of toppings was great and the employee who made our pizzas was generous with toppings. We will be back because of the food, but only when we are not pressed for time. I would recommend coming on an off time, as the food really is worth the wait. Also, prices are good, about $8 for a pizza with as many toppings as you'd like. read more

Excellent pizza! It may be partly because I chose the toppings and such myself but this pizza was outstanding Yummy and delicious! MOD pizza is great, the customer service is great and they're nice enough to let you choose how many toppings you want to put on your pizza. I've been here 3 times till date and they've got my order almost right. Here's why I gave them 4 stars, the pizza is baked perfectly but when it's being made at the counter it changes hands so many times that by the time it's in the oven the only thing differentiating your pizza from others is well.......nothing. If you end up going on a day when it's completely jam packed there staff will have a tough time figuring out which pizza is which because they don't put any sort of tag on it. They figure out who's pizza it is by looking at the toppings and the name on a sheet on paper which can go wrong a lot of the time. 2 out of 3 times I've had to point out which pizza was mine only because I followed it through or there weren't that many people. Since I'm allergic to certain meats if I do end up getting the wrong pizza someone's going to get into real trouble. read more

I believe I dropped my wallet in the bathroom while tending to my son. I called the following day, Monday, and was told by a gentleman that they did believe there was a wallet in the safe but that it was locked until after Wednesday due to the Christmas holiday. So I called today, Wednesday, to ask if they could check. The woman supervisor answered and said that ONLY THE MANAGER was able to get into the safe and that he would not be available today and tomorrow. I told her my concerns about being repetitively told to call back and my concerns of being misled. She tried to assure me that that was not what they were doing and then put me on hold to "call the manager and see if he would come in to open the safe." When she came back on the line she said she "managed to get into the safe" and that my wallet was not there. Not being misled? Didn't you just say only the manager could go in? I've filed a police report with all this information. I probably won't get the wallet back cause shit happens. But now I know what type of people work there and will not be going back to spend my money there. read more

This visit was so different from the usual service we get here, I felt compelled to leave a comment. The short woman working today at 12:30pm with an orange bandana around her hat and a mini red backpack on her belt (no name badge) was so extremely rude and angry towards patrons it was crazy! She did not greet anyone ever, barked out commands and borderline yelled one and two word questions at everyone in the line. No one seemed to be managing the staff and she appeared to be the oldest person working. Mod, do yourselves a favor and let that one go, she clearly does NOT want to work there. read more

Mod pizza used to be the best in town, but lately it's been soggy and icky. I've seen other recent reviews with this complaint. My best guess is this: the last time I was there, they were putting an odd metal piece with 4 pointed legs on it in the middle of the pizza. They banged on it repeatedly while it was in the oven. ?? The legs made holes in the pizza and all the juice seemed to have leaked through by the time we got it home five minutes later. The pizza was limp and soggy when we got it home. Really Mod? I just pick up four pizzas for the family, and this is what my elderly father (who has Parkinson's), this is what his pizza looked like when I got it home. WTF!!!! This sad excuse for a Mod Pizza looks like someone stepped on it. Nevermind that there's no pepperoni on it, the only friggen topping my father wanted!!!! Is this honestly the quality you guys are now serving? Or was it because it was a busy Saturday night and that excuses your ability to put out a quality product?? 5 stars for the excellent service at the Santa Clara Mod location! For those that know me, I'm a big fan of Pieology and MOD Pizza so I'll try not to be too repetitive. The bf and I have been frequenting various DIY pizza locations for the last few years so we were beyond excited when MOD opened less than 1 mile from his house. We've visited MOD when within weeks of their grand opening and again this past weekend. PROS - ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS. GAME OVER. I'm sold! This was new from my last visit and I will continue to return for more. - Roasted garlic + garlic rub! If you can't handle a whole garlic, I'd suggest opting for the garlic rub. - Excellent, caring staff who truly care about their customers. Bf was given the wrong pizza that was very similar to his and didn't realize it till after he started eating it. Once we notified the staff, they quickly corrected it + created another pizza to compensate for it. (The same for the other guy too!) - Don't be worried about the long lines - it moves fast and since they're thin crust, it'll cook fast too! - Outside seating available for when the sun is out. - I thoroughly enjoy how they incorporate local schools into the wall murals. Def gives a sense of community to the area - The option to add the salad greens on your pizza! I like adding spinach to my pizza :) CONS I don't have any. But I'll make one up anyway.. - Seating may be limiting during peak hours and cold days I'd highly recommend that folks who are turned off by the service to give MOD Pizza a second chance to figure out their system out as they train new employees to the location. Ideal for coworkers and to get quick lunch for office crowd. It is similar to Subway for sandwiches... You pick and choose unlimited toppings (veg and non veg), sauce and cheese for pizza. The garlic butter and BBQ sauce with pizza is recommended. Mozzarella cheese and blue cheese topping was nice... All included within price above. Employees are friendly and place is very clean. Mod is probably my new favorite place to get pizza. It's fast, it tastes amazing, and the customer service is awesome! This specific Mod has some of the friendliest and most helpful staff I've met at a fast food style place. All of the different toppings and sauces and styles of pizza is great.
