Moduwa York 84 is clean and neat Inside. I found non deli food merchandise to be overpriced when I did find a price. I looked at some huge cookies but they weren't priced. That's one of my pet peeves. Please price everything like the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk cookie that look so good! I just wasn't in the mood to ask the price. Although I saw a couple people walk by that looked like they were in charge no one spoke to me. The girl behind the front counter managed a faint smile when I spoke to her before I left. I left empty handed. I think the new benches out front are a nice touch. When I took a close look there were animal droppings on them. It would have been nice if they checked them in the morning to see if they're clean. I'm not feeling a good vibe in this place so I don't see a reason to return. I don't want the cookies bad enough. I'm happy the neighborhood residents like Moduwa.

Typical deli bodega. Have had some breakfast egg sandwiches for here after my morning runs along the esplanade close by. Nothing special but it gets the job done.

Everything about this place is great. Their sandwiches and hero's are so good and very inexpensive. The firecracker is my favorite. Def recommend.

Melted cheese in omelet, who cares

I try and try again. I know they can do a great job. I see lots of people coming and going with what I believe is the correct properly made item. I must always order the wrong thing. Today I ordered a Greek omelet platter with all the fixings. I got an omelet, where they must have forgotten to add the cheese because it's not even close to melted. I ate most of it because I am starving but really guys, slow down melt the dang cheese. I could have waited. I had already waited 15 minutes.

One of the few places left in the neighborhood that isn't a chain or a ripoff and they do a great job. My go to.

Great prices and great food. Best deli in the neighborhood. Way better and cheaper than the delis that charge you $14 for a sandwich.

This place has slipped and is not as good as it used to be. I used to go all the time but as of late I'm not happy with it

Good service, quick enough and they make great breakfast sandwiches, but they sometimes mess up our orders.

FOOD: We ordered a bag of 3 bagels-- everything, poppy seed & salt. The bagels were cute, medium sized and served warm/hot. We chose the scallion cream cheese which came in a lil container. Apparently the bagels are not made in the traditional manner, but they were still delicious with great texture and taste. We also ordered the tea (ok) and strawberry lemonade (yum). We enjoyed our bagels on the little countertop area outside. OVERALL: Definitely recommend! A different bagel experience than some other places (as in, those places where you are served bagels topped with cream cheese and other things) but we enjoyed the simplicity of the bagels and controlling the amount of cream cheese.

The bagel itself is pretty solid. It's fluffy and got a nice texture to it. Honestly though, I'm…read morenot sure I really fugg with the whole concept. You cannot order a single bagel, you must order your bagels in 3s. So if you're not a big back and instead are a loser with no friends, you might have more bagels than you can eat. The bagels come whole and you're supposed to rip them and dip them into the cream cheese, and there's many smears to choose from, which is a plus. However, this requires a two hand situation, which means it's difficult to eat on the go, and the seating inside is limited. I did not realize this at first and I was trying to slice my bagel in half with a butter knife, and I failed and started ripping it to shreds in a fit of passion and rage. That when I saw their neon sign that says "GRIP. RIP. DIP," which sounds sexual, and realized that's the concept and intention. My advice--if you're gonna visit, come with a couple friends so you can try the bagels without having to eat 3. And bring hand sanitizer so you're not ripping up the bagel with your filthy subway fingers.

The Logistics & Ordering The menu is expansive, spanning three screens with an incredible variety of bagel types, cream cheese flavors, meats, and cheeses. Despite the line, the ordering process was straightforward. A major plus: you have the option to have your bagel toasted before they assemble the sandwich. Our coffees were ready within 2-3 minutes, and the sandwiches followed about 10 minutes later--very reasonable given how busy they were.
