Moe's Original Bbq Hendersonville, North Carolina

Food is great atmosphere in the new building is awesome. Fresh and clean service is quick.

Smoked Chicken Smoked Wings Platter with fried green tomatoes. Mac & cheese, corn bread, and spicy remoulade sauce.

For years I avoided this place because I thought that they were part of the Moe's Southwest Grill chain. After realizing that they weren't I decided to give them a try, and I'm really glad that I did. Now I'm hooked on their smoked chicken wings. They have a a lot of amazing sides- with many being regular and many as daily specials. The folks there are super friendly and the place is always immaculate and bright. It's a terrific spot to grab a yummy lunch or quick dinner.

What use to be on this plate; peach cobbler, pull pork, jambalaya, cornbread, ribs, red and white sauce. In the order I ate it lol.

Wow! This is the only way to start this post. I stopped by Moe's on my way back to SC because everyone I work with in Hendersonville speaks highly of it. The service was amazing and the gentleman at the register told me I won the T-shirt award. So I order what I originally went for Ribs!!! added a side of pull pork for $5 did not go wrong with that choice, one of the extra sides for the evening was jambalaya and I also had the peach cobbler (that when I looked at it, I was what is this? ) to only later choke on those word's because every time I tried to put it down I had to take another bite. The jambalaya I was like this wasn't what I was thinking. So I gave you all those details to say this. I usually start off taking pictures of my food so that the readers can have a visual of what I'm talking about. Well I was in such a hurry to see what my coworkers were talking about, that I will not lie I started and couldn't stop. The one thing I went for, suddenly became the last thing I ate and the peach cobbler was first and how did I forget the corn bread that I wish I lived closer because I would have gone back to just get a order of the corn bread. But I did manage to get one picture in! I definitely see several lunch days here.

Food is always impeccable quick delivery to my table or take out when I have to get back to work. I really like their smoked turkeys and the sides are always fresh and delicious. The star of the show is hands-down Barbara! Sh is an absolute gem. She runs a tight ship at the front counter and always seems to get along very well with her associates and the customer base. Come for the food, come back for Barbara's sweet smile and wonderful personality!

Yum Barbecue pork sandwich. Bun, pork, barbecue sauce delicious. The cornbread ... grilled on one side. I was going to ask for butter. Not needed! The banana pudding was good... not great. But that's ok. I should have gotten either the baked beans (nice spice) or Mac and cheese. Both my friend said great.

    The aftermath

This place is 10 out of 10. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the cashier who detailed the specials and gave me a ton of information.. The service is fast and it is also very clean inside of the establishment. They do daily special, so be sure to catch them on fried chicken Wednesdays. The food was out of this world. I would recommend the ribs and the fried chicken personally with the coleslaw.

My wife and I finally went to our niece's wedding in the Asheville, NC area which was postponed…read morelast year due to the flooding from Hurricane Helene. We were headed to the Greenville Spartanburg airport afterwards, when we decided to stop somewhere and eat on the way. We had plenty of time, since we were going to be at the airport about 6 hours early due to a brunch being cancelled in Weaverville due to an accident involving another family member. The first sign we saw that interested us was for two places in Saluda, North Carolina. We decided to exit and take a chance. It was a good choice. After a short 1.5 mile drive in the beautiful countryside, we arrived in the tiny village of Saluda. It was really a quaint and scenic place. We drove past our restaurant choice, but saw no parking. We kept following signs to a parking lot, but suddenly the road we needed to turn on was closed for construction. I kept going to find a place to make a u-turn, when we suddenly saw Green River BBQ and pulled right into the parking lot. We opted to eat inside. At first we, being from San Antonio, were concerned that the dining room wasn't airconditioned. Believe me, it didn't need it! A very friendly server named Joey came to us right away, seated us, and took drink orders. When he brought our drinks we ordered our meals. My wife had a sliced brisket sandwich with fries and coleslaw. I ordered the BBQ Melt (Smoked pork on a king's Hawaiian bun with melted cheddar cheese & Duke's mayonnaise & smothered with caramelized onions.) Without knowing what it was, I substituted tomato pie for my fries. The food was all excellent. My sandwich was so big and loaded with pork that I couldn't eat the last fourth of it. I didn't want to be stuffed on a flying day. The pork was better than any pork I have been served in Texas. They really know how to cook it in the Carolinas. The coleslaw was rich and creamy. I really liked it. The tomato pie is a hard one to describe. The best I can do is to say that it is like the squash casserole we get in Texas, but replace the squash with fresh tomatoes. It was cheesy, gooey, and had a super great tomato taste. The service here was great. I watched as about 6 staffers were setting up for a big family group that came in after us. They worked like a finely orchestrated marching band. All I can say is this: Skip all those other chains that are along Interstate 26 and go to Green River BBQ!

Roasted Peanuts on the table to greet you and peanut shells on the floor also adds to the laidback feel. The waitress (Lexie) took my drink order quickly and promptly brought the unsweetened tea and a basket full of fresh yeast rolls. She then offered to take my order, but I asked for more time to go over the menu (since it was my first visit). After a short wait, she answered my question and took my order. I opted for 2 skewers of beef tips and bacon cheese fries for my side. My food arrived shortly thereafter and it included ranch dressing to dip the fries and grilled onions and peppers on the side and then she asked if I needed any steak sauce of mushroom gravy. I opted for the latter. This was great service especially since I for got to ask for ranch and mushroom gravy originally and thought I was only allowed the peppers and onions or the mushroom gravy. During the meal, my glass was refilled just as I finished it and she remembered I was drinking unsweetened tea. As for the food from the rolls, to the steak tips, fries, and condiments was all excellent. And too much for me to eat. Lexie brought a to go box and refilled my tea again even though I said I didn't need a to-go tea. I would highly recommend.
