I haven't been to Moe's in years, because I like getting queso and guacamole at Qdoba without an up-charge. Thanks to a $5 off coupon through T-Mobile, I decided to give Moe's a try today and I was pleasantly surprised. I downloaded their app to place my order and it was ready when I arrived. I ordered the Homewrecker Bowl with adobo chicken, seasoned rice, black beans, grilled peppers and onions, shredded cheese, pico, sour cream, diced onions, guacamole, and I had the poblano crema on the side. I like the fact that their entrees come with free chips and salsa. I remembered from prior years that they don't give much salsa (they gave me 1 salsa for the chips and 1 poblano crema sauce for the burrito bowl), so I grabbed 1 of each from their salsa station before I left. The food actually tasted really good. I did miss the queso, but I wound up eating a lot because I hadn't expected it to taste as good as it did. They also gave a nice sized portion (I remembered to take a picture!), which most places aren't doing anymore. I will definitely eat here again. read more

I'm pretty bummed that I'm writing this review, as Moe's used to be my go-to for Tex-mex food but it's steadily gone downhill. I used to love their food and the prices are great, but it's not worth it anymore. Today they were practically out of black beans, I got half a scoop and they didn't offer to grab more or substitute. Same for the grilled veggies, just a few peppers and no onions. Three people working, I was the only customer there and they were down to scraping the bowls for a bunch of toppings.... At 6:30p on a Saturday? I got the saddest bag of chips, maybe a quarter of the bag full when they normally fill it halfway. Normally this kind of thing wouldn't deter me - I worked in food services and I understand that sometimes this stuff happens. But it keeps happening again and again, I just can't go back anymore. Be careful to eat at either Moes....Portage or St Joe restaurant! They don't adhere to any food safety standards.....They don't follow rotation rules set by HACCP / Health dept! They allow the food to go out of date to the point it smells prior to cooking. They falsify the paperwork required to monitor the food safety cooking and holding standards daily! There are no sanitation systems in place - roaches and fruit flies are present and the Owner and her head supervisor (of both restaurants) are knowing of this issue yet choose to not spend the Money to get these restaurant's cleaned and or hire professional pest control companies to make it clean and safe! These Restaurants have an absent owner - $$ is the only thing that matters, not food safety, cleanliness or genuine caring for her employees ( she couldn't name 10% of her Team if she had to!). Her #1 over seer of these 2 Restaurants is even worse! He's a miserable person both professionally and personally! He is responsible for the state of these 2 Moe's and should be removed from supervising ANY food service establishments! He is nothing but a short cut artist when it comes to upholding food safety and/or strict sanitation systems. He knows nothing of what TEAM stands for. You can find him consistently complaining and talking bad about the people he employs while at work in front of other people...Guests and Employees! I would highly recommend eating somewhere else or you may get sick from the food...you will certainly be disgusted by the atmosphere! Nice friendly staff who greeted us as we walked in the door. I ordered the nachos and he asked me if I wanted my chips and cheese in the bowl or separate. I had them separate so the chips didn't get soggy. He asked me what I wanted in my bowl after he poured in the queso so I had him add my toppings and bought a drink. They had one of those all in one machines for drinks that I like. They also had a salsa bar there with 5 or 6 types of salsa. Or nachos were great. Filled all of us up and was very tasty. Nice stop. Wife is thinking she found a new place for her lunch stop during the week. Meals under 10 bucks so it had good value. read more

Wish we had Moes here! You figure with their name, they would actually be in the Southwest. Way better than chipotle and you don't run the risk of being poisoned here like chipotle. I always get their chicken or steak nachos. Their white queso cheese is amazing and always fresh. They also have a salsa bar which has about 6 different salsas to choose from. They range from mild to hot. Always visit Moes when I'm in town but bring them to AZ please! read more

We went here because we were hungry for Mexican and we were not disappointed!! We each had a burrito bowl and the servings were plenty. We had to take half of it home. The young lady was very polite and respectful. The restaurant was clean. Staff was wiping tables and sweeping while we were there. The music was great and not to loud...lol. More is one of our and our kids favorites. As others have stated its very similar to Pancheros or Qdoba. They have silly names for all their selections which can make ordering a bit complicated, but if you order what you want they'll translate it to Moe's speak for you. The meats are all fresh prepared and all the veggies are always fresh. The fact that they give you grilled onions and mushrooms with any order is a huge bonus in my book. Add to that all the free chips and salsa and you can understand why my kids love to go to Moe's. They're there favorite thug is the Coke Freestyle machine which can allegedly alleys you to make any of 30 some thousand combinations (which always mystifies me cause the kids always get the same thing). Overall the food is yummy, fresh and salsa is delicious. Service is always great and I'm always impressed with the staffs attitude. Yet another lunch spot on Westnedge Ave. Don't get me wrong, I welcome healthy competition. The legacy restaurants need to be challenged. Subway constantly has some new sandwich shop biting at their heals and Qdoba has had a dominant presence for sometime. To effectively compete you have to offer something unique or something much better. The food is fresh, the taste is good, and there are plenty of choices. If Moe's were the first game in town they would have pulled it off. Z-Teca which became Qdoba opened the trough years ago and established this southwest style footprint. What missing is something unique or different that would make you choose them over Qdoba. I'm not sure Moe's pulls this off. That having been said they are planning to launch 25 locations in the area. They will likely gain some market share. Onto the cuisine. The food is good, the ingredients are fresh, and the service is friendly but a unique style or superior quality I'd hope to find didn't present itself. By all means, if you like southwest cuisine you'll like the stuff here. The menu items are named after famous movie words and names. I've had the Homewrecker which I'd venture is their signature burrito. It was tasty and the chicken plus other ingredients had a well balanced flavor. Maybe a personal choice but I'd put the Qdoba burrito slightly ahead of it though. What I welcomed was the choice of a fresh vegetarian burrito. What I'd recommend more highly is the Overachiever soft shell taco with chicken. This is the one item I thought made a strong play for this establishment. Rather then blending flavors the way a burrito does the ingredients need to stand alone in freshness and they did. This item elevates them to a fourth star. Make it a combo. Or not. Adding a side guacamole (plus fountain drink) to the order yielded a very small plastic container that was spent after about the fourth tortilla chip. The guacamole was also okay but nothing special. Gotta pull back a half star on that. There are a number of salsa choices from mild to hot at the salsa bar. There are also a couple of good salads available and the ingredients as with the other items are fresh. All in all I find this restaurant to be pretty good with a couple of decent choices. Well this is my first time eating at Mo's. I'm not impressed. Similar to Qdoba in menu options, condiments and meat selection. I ordered the Earmuffs bowl. Yeah weird names for the options. I chose the cilantro rice, black beans , chicken with corn salsa. Topped it with lettuce onion and sour cream. Portions are healthy (large) and was offered free queso with my side of chips. As I ate the rice was cold and lacked flavor. The chicken was grilled and cut in fairly large pieces, again flavorless. Had it not been for the salsa and sour cream this would have been REALLY bland. The staff was nice and friendly and the place was spacious and clean. For my money I'll take Qdoba. read more

Stay away from the homewrecker, 7 pieces (actual count) of steak that made into my burrito from the grill was certainly a let down and then the loss of one piece during the wrapping process was upsetting. I could not believe that I was paying nearly 10 for the food I got. The food I did get tasted good but it was such a let down by the quantity that I am not sure that I will be back. Bathroom was cold and quite dirty for how slow the restaurant is/was. If you do need to use the bathroom I suggest turning on the hot water to the sink before anything else as it took many minutes to be even warm. Walked into Moes today for lunch. The establishment was severely understaffed, the staff that were here apologized for the long wait for line progress. My issue isn't really with the staff, mostly. The food was bland and painfully hot since it was left on the plancha grill way too long. I would have had more taste from sawdust. The tables wobble, spilling water all over the place. So, this is the last time I ever go to a Moes. I am all done. For $20, and food that was dull as superheated library paste, this is all there will be from me. I walk out now, forever. All done. $20. Your joke is received. Abominable. At least it's cleaner than the disgusting pit that is the nearby Qdoba. That's a health violation just waiting to kill someone. read more

My boyfriend and I had lunch here recently, and it was okay. I had a burrito bowl and he had chicken tacos. They have a variety of options, but they do not keep the ingredients such as rice, beans, and meat very warm. It wasn't quite worth the $20 we spent. Once a month my partner and I come to Moe's for Moe mondays, we like the food or we wouldn't come back. My partner is vegetarian and every single time in the past 4 times we have been here, she has to wait 6-10 minutes for them to cook tofu, meanwhile every other protein gets rotated and refilled regularly. I just don't understand why tofu should be any different. Would like to just be able to be treated equally vegetarian or not. read more

Moe's is the poor man's Qdoba. While you have all the same options as Qdoba, the food seems to be flavorless and boring. I've had a burrito bowl and nachos. I've tried chicken and steak, several salsa options and toppings. In the end, all I can taste is the queso, which again isn't as good as Qdoba. My sister really likes this place and recommended that I go here. I wasn't a big fan. The chorus of "Welcome to Moe's!" when I entered was a little off-putting. I think this place built their foundation by taking elements from Jimmy Johns, Subway and Pancheros. As soon as you walk in, everyone greets you in a similar way that Jimmy Johns does. The food is just like the food at pancheros. The only difference is they have it set up where you build your burrito like you build a sub at subway. It's decent. I would really only come back here out of convenience. Not a huge fan. I don't think it's very flavorful and they are pricey. My kids didn't like their food either. I've been here before and had a good burrito. This time, I went for a bowl. Unfortunately, the guac was soooo cold that it immediately took any heat right out of the meat (or meat was cold but doubtful). The whole bowl was refrigerator type cold. The staff was outstanding. They tried heating it in a warmer (no microwave) but it didn't work. They kindly made me another one but same problem. So I inhaled the steak quickly and left. The food at Moe's is good. There are gluten free options, though cross contamination is pretty likely, as the staff doesn't know what gluten-free means. I enjoy the sauteed veggies on many things. The free chips and salsa bar are great. Get a burrito bowl, and you'll easily have two meals with the chips. The neat Coke machine is cool too. What I HATE about Moe's is that they make the employees scream "Welcome to Moe's!" every time someone walks in. So, in the middle of saying "just a little bit of sour cream," the employees all yell "Welcome to Moe's," pretty much right in my face. Once I forgot my wallet in the car (embarrassing), and on the way back in with it, everyone "welcomed" me again... please skip that nonsense, Moe's. Your employees don't want to do it. Your customers don't want to hear it. A nice "welcome to Moe's" once you get to the front of the line would rock. read more

Similar to Panchero's, Qdoba, Chipotle, etc. The difference between these guys and all the others is that they don't charge extra for things like quac or roasted veggies on your burrito. The last burrito I got was so big the tortilla was too small to go all the way around! It was delicious and you get free chips and salsa. read more
