I was in town to get my hair done and realized I had a yen for crepes. This place was a great find. The decor is fun and the staff was friendly and efficient. I couldn't make up my mind so I got the cinnamon and the fruit crepes and both were yummy. They have many coffee offerings but I don't drink coffee so I got yummy iced tea instead. My girls chose this place from Yelp while they were searching for a place to eat for Mother/Daughter breakfast. I'm not really a fan of breakfast so I chose the B.L. T with a White Mocha. Grinds (GVA) cafe is a welcome reprieve from the insanely high-priced hipster establishments that have flooded the valley. As another reviewer has pointed out, there's a lot going on. But, that is part of its charm. Want to breeze in & order a quick glass of good (more reasonably priced) wine before meeting your date? How about some homemade baked goods & creamy gelato? Or, as my friends and I found ourselves on a Saturday evening, how about listening to some live music and dancing (which is tucked away in an adjoining room). You can eat breakfast for dinner too, as they serve waffles, crepes, as well as sandwiches, salads and more. My friend had the Chicken Cesar salad (believe it was around $8) and she raved about it, lots of generous strips of juicy chicken (no skimping here). I can't forget to mention that the music venue side is decorated with local artists' beautiful artwork. Vinyl Replay was the band that played this evening and they were amazing! I purposefully drove an extra mile to come here and give local business some business instead of Starbucks. However, you would think a Cafe au lait it's pretty standard but the one I got was very watered-down. It was like drinking milky coffee flavored water. I couldn't even finish a third of it before I decided to just leave it. Really sad that a small business wouldn't work harder to get regular customers to avoid going out of business. Made a pit stop here from a road trip. Nice and friendly people working here. Lots of selections to choose. They even have non-dairy milk to accommodate our diet. Their Mayan Mocha was chocolately and savory --not too sweet. I also ordered their spinach, cheese and egg crepe (delish!) and it came w/a side of fresh strawberries. I saw that this is the highest/most rated of the Morgan Hill coffee shops so I came here to enjoy the sun on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The shop itself is nice, it's got a lot of kitschy car memorabilia on the walls and a retro vibe, but they have a good selection of coffee, tea, gelato, and pastries. We ordered a decaf coffee, a Mayan Mocha (basically a mocha with Mexican chocolate), chocolate gelato, and a cinnamon roll. I tried the gelato and it was very good, with a deep flavor and very creamy consistency. The cinnamon roll was also good, although they forgot to bring it out to me and ended up reheating it twice, so the outside of it got a little dried out from being microwaved twice. The decaf coffee was whatever, I don't really see the point of ordering decaf coffee. The mocha was pretty good, it was a little bit too sweet for me and, as is usual with Mexican chocolate, the chocolate didn't melt fully into the drink. But it was still good. We sat outside on Monterey street under an umbrella and the servers brought our drinks out for us. It was a very pleasant day, although the number of cars with obnoxious exhausts is quite high in Morgan Hill. I would have been happy inside too, as they had fans and air conditioning. Overall the place is a better than average coffee shop, and my companion was very happy about the gelato selection. I've never been to Morgan Hill before, but if I do come back and want coffee I know where to go. read more

GVA is AMAZING!!! I fell in love with GVA last summer after having had my very first affogato. They have a great menu with so many selections. They've just added breakfast burritos to their menu and they are so super yummy! I've rented the banquet room on a few occasions. Its a perfect spot to host a part :) I haven't been to a live performance yet, but that is definitely next on my list. I LOVE GVA! This is a great local cafe with an impressive selection of coffee beans to rival Peets. I hadn't been here in years and stopped in for a working brunch. I got the bacon egg and Gruyere cheese crepe, and an Ethiopian coffee with an extra espresso shot. It came to about $11 including 15% tip. Very good value! The staff is friendly. The presentation is pretty good. They bring your food / coffee out to you if you eat in. I came here on a Monday around noon, and despite being behind a group of 5 in line the wait was minimal. However it does look like it gets busy on the weekends so I recommend weekdays if you have the option. The atmosphere is fun; a unique mix of diner and small town coffee shop. There is unique memorabilia around that is entertaining to look at. They have ice cream too! The coffee selection alone makes it worth stopping by. Their outdoor seating also has cushions on the chairs, a notable difference between them and most other outdoor spots around the area. I think this will become my new regular breakfast / brunch spot in the area! read more

This place is intimate so if you want to catch up with a friend this is it. They have a few sandwiches, lots of salads, gelato and pastries. There's a wide selection of coffee and tea. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. My pulled pork sandwich was decent and filling. I also ordered an Italian soda which hit the spot on a warm afternoon. The interior is filled with automobile memorabilia and the like. There's also a parking lot located not too far away. There are a few spots to sit outside as well. I should've written this review a long time ago. We hadn't been there in years but used to go every week while I waited for my daughter. The food, drinks and desserts were always delicious and the service was always friendly. They've expanded their outdoor seating a bit and it's a nice area with plants all around. We got the turkey pesto melt, club sandwich and Nutella crepes. It was all delicious and huge. One crepe was enough for my 12 year old. My 10 year old was only able to eat half of her sandwich and enjoyed the other half for lunch the next day. It's a great spot to grab some yummy food and coffee and use wifi if you need it. We'll have to make it more of a regular hangout again because we really missed it. read more

Went to downtown Morgan Hill for a visit to the most retro coffee shop I've ever been to. This place had a very interesting vibe for a coffee stop. They sell damn good coffee that I did try. They had many more selections like pastries, beer, wine, gelato and food that I did not try. The one barista working was super sweet. I asked her for a recommendation and it was a Valhalla Java with an espresso shot and a pump of vanilla. It was a perfect drink to get me through the trip back to SoCal. This is cute spot for the small town that is Morgan Hill. It's a fun place for the family during the day considering all their options of food and drinks. But at night, it can be a great deal of fun for adults for the same reason. I wouldn't necessarily pick this location for work. read more

If you should find yourself sitting at a stop sign, roasting in the car from the afternoon sun, when someone walks across the street carrying what looks like strawberry shakes in a clear plastic cup and you want to know where to get them, well you aren't alone. That happened to us today so we pulled over, got out of the car. We stumbled upon this cafe. Admittedly, as rare as it is for me, I did not try the coffee here. Upon a recommendation from the lady behind the counter, we tried the strawberry banana smoothie. Yes! Just what we needed. It was not too sweet and just refreshing enough. I would have taken a picture but we slurped those suckers down like there was no tomorrow. So instead, you get a picture of the cold drink cooler. Enjoy! read more

I love the Brew Bar for its fresh, made to order coffee selections. They have a variety of roasts ranging from light to dark. And, at only $3.00 for a large size, it is quite a bargain for such good tasting coffee. You can have it either hot or iced, and either way, it doesn't disappoint. What is keeping them back from a 5 star review is that I wish they would hang their tv somewhere else. If they could put it on a wall somewhere instead of behind the espresso bar, it would be a cool alternative spot to watch a football game instead of a bar. And, I think it would be a good spot to watch a game since they do serve beers. read more
