We used to go here more often, but it's been a few years and I'm glad we made time to visit again. Prices are not too bad and the we got lucky with parking so it was nice. The service was great and the portions were filling. It doesn't have a whole lot of seating so there might be waits, but the food and welcoming service are worth it
Always a great spot for a delicious breakfast. My go to breakfast is always the corned beef hash. This is not your typical corn beef hash from a can let me tell you, the corn beef hash is made fresh daily. You can really taste the pickling spices like coriander,clove and bayleaves. Another standout is the Lilikoi Pancakes. The pancakes are light and fluffy, with this incredible liliykoi sauce, and some whipped cream. So good. Service is always impeccable. If you are a regular, I can guarantee they will remember your name and your favorite thing you like to eat. Pro tip, I would suggest either going as soon as they open or later like 10 o'clock for breakfast to avoid the crowd. This place gets really busy and parking can be a little bit tight as it is street parking only. Do not park across the street in the shopping complex or your car will get towed.
We decided to hang out in the Kaneohe/Kailua side this day so we started our day at Moke's. They only have street parking so you're lucky if you find one. There's a parking lot across the street from them but DO NOT park there, you will get towed! They even have it posted on their wall at the restaurant. When we got there, there was about a 20-30 minute wait. When we finally got seated, we were sat on one of the two tables outside which was awkward cuz you have people waiting and you kinda feel like they're watching you eat. However, it is a hole in the wall so understandable that they tried to maximize their outside with tables. Service was great. Even if you're outside, they do not forget about you which is a plus. As for food, I'm a sucker for corn beef hash but I went with the moke nui omelet which had bacon, ham, spinach, mushroom, tomato, onions, and cheese. I opted to go with hash browns instead of rice. My Husband had the corn beef hash with over easy eggs and rice and our Daughter had the Mickey Mouse pancake. Our food didn't take long to come out. I tried the corn beef hash from my Husband's plate and I wasn't a fan. There was an acquired taste to it. I asked my Husand how he liked it and he said it was okay. My Daughter's pancake was cute. "A" for effort in trying to make it Mickey Mouse shaped. Overall this place was okay. I may come back to try other things, however, the parking is the disadvantage here.
Just had breakfast at this cute little spot in Kailua and overall had a great experience! I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with hash browns - it was good, though not mind-blowing. The main 'difficulty' was that they only had packets of ketchup and soy sauce. Could have definitely used more seasoning and honestly about three times the amount of ketchup they provided. The real standout was the lilikoi pancakes - absolutely delicious and very flavorful! My wife got the French toast and rated it an 8/10, which came with pork link sausages. We also got an extra serving of that amazing lilikoi sauce for the French toast - it's incredibly creamy and makes everything better. Service was excellent, shoutout to Crystal who took great care of us. The restaurant gets very busy so expect a wait, and parking is a real challenge since it's only metered street parking. Good luck finding a spot! Despite the minor issues, the food quality and service make this place worth the visit. The lilikoi sauce alone is reason enough to come back.
Starting off strong, we stood at the Host stand for quite a while before being acknowledged. A Server did come up to grab the Bathroom key for her table, looked at us, and walked away . Oh okay lol Then a few minutes later a lady came up to help us and but our name down on the list. She had a more pleasant demeanor. I do think I remember her from my last visit about 5 years ago. Anyway- Place is a decent size but if you have a large party, it could take a while to be sat together. They have condiment packs on the table for your use. I prefer it more than using bottles. Lilikoi pancakes were still excellent , bacon was very greasy, like instead of letting it drain, they plopped it on the plate..just blot it if it's not your thing. Corned Beef Hash was passable.. it wasn't terrible but extremely salty and too much potato mixed it.. Eggs and coffee were great. I can't say I would go out of my way to eat here BUT if you're in the area or first time visitor, I'd absolutely recommend. I must note, we did come on a Saturday morning and although it wasn't as crowded as i remembered it could be, we did wait pretty long for our food. BOH may be understaffed so be patient. Parking is street metered. Don't park across the street in the lot. They are very fast to tow.
Beautiful experience! We came in with a big party of 13 and got seated with Crystal (our waitress). The food was phenomenal, but Crystal definitely made our experience worth it all. Her sparkling personality mixed with their cinnamon filled French toast will be an everlasting memory for my family and I!
Dropped by here yesterday with a friend for breakfast before 9 am (on a Tuesday). About a 20 min wait to be seated. Parking is paid street parking. First time at the Kailua location, usually go to the one in Kaimuki. Our server, Mahina, was great! Only seemed like there were a few workers but they all were working hard tending to everyone as quickly as they could. My friend and I both had the home made corned beef hash. I ordered mine with hash browns and over medium eggs, my friend had hers with fried rice and scrambled eggs. I personally was not a fan of the corned beef hash, as I prefer it to be chunkier with pieces of meat and not like the canned kind. My fault for not asking, too. Otherwise it did have some kind of a nice herbal flavor to it. Pancake was good, had too much passion fruit sauce for my taste and was a bit too sweet, but could be because we only ordered a single pancake and the sauce to pancake ratio was off.
Moke's was so good! We decided to stop by here after hiking and it was such a good decision. The inside is pretty small, but we were extremely quick and the service was great. Our food came out relatively fast and I added bananas to the French toast, which I thought was delicious. This ham was also probably the best ham I've ever had - SO GOOD.
Great service and the food was good, happy we found this gem definitely will recommend to others.
Small, hole- in-the-wall , mom and pop place that has some indoor and outdoor seating. Looks like a local spot and those are my favorite. Got the rib eye loco Moke and it was excellent. Also had the veggie and has brown omelet so together the dishes balanced perfectly. We cleaned our plates. Service was quick and pricing was reasonable, approx $20-$25 a person. Would recommend
I stopped by for breakfast with my group before getting started with our day and this turned out to be a great start! The french toast was delicious. I'm not usually a sweets person in the morning, but this french toast blew me away. The loco moco was pretty good as well, and I really liked the gravy.
You could miss this place if you aren't looking for it. We were quickly seated and given menus and water. It is a quaint place, but there is also outdoor seating. This was my first time here and it was worth it. My daughter got the loco moco and really enjoyed the gravy. They have the traditional loco moco and one with prime rib. She got the traditional, but with fried rice. I got the corn beef hash meal with scrambled eggs and crispy hash browns. We also ordered a lilikoi pancake. At first, I didn't know whether it was the pancake or syrup that made it so special. We soon found out and enjoyed the sweet tart taste of the lilikoi sauce. It is thick and chilled. In my opinion, eat it while the sauce is still cold. When it starts warming, you can taste the butter on the pancakes, but it is still good. This is definitely a place I will visit again and bring my grandson next time.

Our favorite breakfast spot on the eastside of the island. Restaurant feels homey, staff is really nice, and the food is always good. When you go, you have to get their liliko'i pancakes. They're fluffy and the liliko'i gives just a hint of tartness. We always get an order to share. The honey butter biscuit is also a must order with breakfast here. Crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, with just enough sweetness. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it! They have a 2nd location in Kaimuki that I haven't tried yet, but this location is always a WIN! read more

First breakfast ever in Hawaii and it was super good. We got the Liliko'i pancakes, Mickey Mouse pancake, Loco Moke, and coffee. The passionfruit sauce for the Liliko'i pancakes was the perfect amount of aroma and flavor. I loved the loco moke because the gravy was super flavorful. No complaints about the coffee at all. FYI: If you are seated outside, get ready to be bombarded by birds walking under your table eyeing your food! Also, you'll see and hear chickens every now and then read more

Breakfast was delicious. Get that amazing passion fruit sauce on everything! We got the regular breakfast plate (eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns), the French toast, and the pancakes with eggs and bacon. French toast was good, kids liked it. I wish I got more pancakes with the sauce because it was amazing. read more
it was my first time trying out Moke's as i've heard so many good reviews. They seemed quite busy but we didn't wait too long, maybe about 10 minutes and was then seated. i ordered the classic home style breakfast and the options i chose were bacon, hash browns and scrambled eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly, the eggs were so fluffy and the bacon was crispy. The toast that came with it was thicker bread which i prefer and the butter with it was so good! the service was exceptional and i definitely recommend this place to everyone. read more
Yum! Went for breakfast and totally enjoyed their food. Fast service as far as from point of order to food service. Their rye bread is excellent. We took home a loaf and made paninis with pastrami, smoked gouda and Naked Cor garlic herb butter. It was fantastic! Their Eggs Benedict and lilikoi pancakes are a must! We were given a gift certificate to go there by my daughter who loves to eat her way through traveling in the US and other countries. She is into sustainability and local and made an excellent choice and suggesting Moke. Will definitely go there again! No matter where you live on the island this is definitely worth going to!!! read more
I stopped by here this past Saturday with my wife and her parents for lunch. We had decided to head to Moke's Bread & Breakfast because upon looking at the menu online, my wife saw that they had lilikoi pancakes which was perfect since I love lilikoi. It is located on Hoolai Street and as far as we could tell they had no parking for the restaurant. There were plenty of street spots though and so we parked right out in front at 25 cents/10 minutes. We ended up being greeted by the hostess whenever we arrived and were immediately seated. There wasn't too much decor inside but the walls were a sky blue and there were some shelves which had a Christmas goofy and Christmas bears. For lunch on this day I ended up getting the lilikoi pancakes that I mentioned above while my wife got the loco moco and her parents got the vegetable frittata. I had the choice between two pancakes or three for $1 more and so went with the larger size. Our food came out fairly quickly and all of our meals looked good. My wife loved her loco moco and I was able to try the vegetable frittata. It was tasty but my favorite part of it happened to be the pesto drizzle that they put on it. Then my pancakes came out as a full stack and were quite large and completely covered in the "amazing lilikoi sauce". The pancakes themselves were super light and fluffy and the lilikoi sauce was quite good. It had the taste of lilikoi although the added sugar made it quite sweet. By the time I was about 2/3rds of the way through my pancakes I had to reluctantly give up. Guess I should have gotten the 2 instead of 3! The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Everyone at our table loves our food and I thought that lilikoi sauce was quite good. read more

Service was awesome & i enjoyed the stuffed hashbrown , perfect combo with portuguese sausage , tomatoes , grilled onions and mushrooms . This restaurant is ok. They tuna sandwich was ok, the rye bread was too hard, and the tuna could be cheesier. The service was good, but the server left early to pick up her kids. Afterwards we felt that the restaurant staff just want us, the last table to leave, so they could go home. The cook in the back came out to ask if we are finished or not, we left shortly after that. The lilikoi pancakes were not as good as the ones at the Overeasy restaurant 5 minutes away. read more
Came here on a Saturday afternoon after hiking Lanikai Pillbox. We were surprised that we got seated right away because usually there is always a wait. But I didn't mind cause I was hungry :D So does anyone know if they changed chefs? Because I was completely shocked how my eggs Benedict came out. I cut into the first egg (left side) and there was NO YOLK o__0? Then I cut into the second egg (right side) and it was hard boiled... Holy Pancakes! I thought macadamia pancakes changed my life, but I was so wrong! Likiko'i pancakes were ahhhhmazing. That passion fruit sauce.... ohhhhh gurl! The atmosphere reminded me I was over at granny's house and I'm gonna be fed! Very welcoming vibe and family friendly. Staff gives you all the Aloha! We made Kailua our last beach, so this place was nearby and looked delicious for good eats. And boy, the food did not disappoint! They made everything from scratch, including bread and biscuits. I had an omelette without eggs, double yum!, which was basically omelette fixins like cheese, bacon, peppers, mixed in and fried up with hash browns. Delish! I also tried their homemade honey butter biscuit which she recommended grilled, and added some grilled tomatoes. I loved every last bite. My friend got the loco moke, made with steak instead of burger patty, and that was quite awesome! Everyone was so nice! read more

Popped in after scraping my legs on the coral lol. I ordered the special, The Montecello. French toast stuffed with eggs, cheese, bacon and ham. Poured a lil maple syrup over it and SMACKED it. It's was VERY filling. A lil bland if I'm being honest, nothing a lil salt & pepper couldn't fix. Got service with a smile and a left with a full belly. read more

An adorable restaurant run by the sweetest people, serving some solid, kickass locally sourced food. I tried to eat light but it was HARD! Together with my 2 eggs over easy and my pork sausage links, I had a honey butter biscuit and that was just so goooood. My girl had French toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon. Of COURSE coffee - and now that I'm drinking it black I could taste how yummy it really was. I want to come back and try some of their grass fed beef products (like a loco moco maybe?), or maybe something dessert-y. Most definitely the lilikoi pancakes, which I heard are amazing. You can even get lilikoi sauce on the side in case you just want to pour it all over your toast or something! This place had a steady stream of regulars and tourists alike, and when we left there was a bit of a line. We parked on the street - there is really no private lot. I will say it's some of the best customer service I've ever had, and the food is just BAM what! Solid. Worth every penny. read more
I tried the Hawaii specialty breakfast of Loco Moco for the first time here during my 10 day visit to Hawaii and it was the best one of all the ones I tried. I chose the Moke's Bread and Breakfast's twist to this famous dish. It was called Loco Moke and instead of burger patty, you got a rib eye steak instead. Boy was it amazing. I noticed at other places that I tried the traditional version of Loco Moco, the meat was a bit too dry and overcooked and had to be drenched in the gravy to be yummy. Not with the Loco Moke here, it was just perfectly cooked and delicious. This seems to be a favorite spot for the locals, as most coming in were greeted by the staff as if they were best friends for years. Lovely place to check out. read more

Best food on the island! And the service was all-around phenomenal! Our server was also our host, our busser, and the manager basically handling it ALL with a smile on her face!! It was worth the wait & the quarters spent on the parking meter! Their bread is homemade, the portions are huge, and the dishes are both traditional and unique to the islands. There is something for everyone & so many great flavors coming together! So glad we found this gem! read more

Yummmy!! The food was delicious. Mahalo daughter had a Mickey pancake. It was just the way she likes it. Prices are fairly reasonable. The only problem is the parking but I was able to find street parking by Hardware Hawaii. read more
Came today to have breakfast, service was good and food was fine. Pancakes were not fluffy and light... to heavy for me. My husband love his loc moto breakfast. One observation: the bathroom is outside the restaurant and there was a puddle of water from the rain. I ended up holding it and going somewhere else instead. read more

The Lilikoi pancakes here are really special. I've never tasted anything like it before. It has such a light citrus flavor and just the perfect amount of sweetness. Service was also very friendly and we were able to get seated quickly for a party of four on a weekend morning! I would definitely go back here next time I'm in Hawaii. read more

Small town friendly vibe in a small town, what more do you need? Oh yeah, great food! My dining companion Kristine C. and I have found ourselves Windward a lot lately, so it's been the perfect opportunity to try some new places to eat. She found so many great places and Moke's has been the first we've returned to. Located on Ho'olai St., this part of town is arguably not that pretty. Despite that, Moke's maintains its little area as a sidewalk cafe with wood waiting benches, outdoor tables, and plants to block the street. The interior is part coffee shop and part breakfast place. Both our times eating here have been outdoors, which I appreciate having. The street is not busy, so it's quiet despite all the hustle and bustle a few blocks away. When you arrive, put your name on the list inside and wait. Restrooms are around the corner at the back. Despite being popular, the turnaround is fast, so you may not have to wait more than 30-45 min on a busy day. So far we've been lucky and waited no more than 20. Sitting outside has a big friendly perk for us as our furchild can join our breakfast, and also means he can comfortably join us for the day out and about. A big water bowl is provided and appreciated. Service is prompt and efficient. All the staff we've interacted with, including the owners, have been happy to serve and share their food. I enjoyed both my meals here, one breakfast and one lunch. The former was an eggs benedict with potatoes. It was the typical offering, delicious and heartier than it appeared. The latter was their reuben sandwich. The pumpernickel bread was dark and heavy, with good quality meat and tangy sauerkraut. I requested a bowl of juice for dipping and was given one gratis. The side salad was fresh with a tangy oil dressing. Overall the food is great. Iced tea and other drinks should come in larger cups to avoid frequently needing refills. Prices are a little high for portion size and quality, but not a ripoff like other similar restaurants targeting tourists. Parking is also an issue; no validated nor dedicated spots are available, only metered. read more
Breakfast food is my favorite, this place is BOMB! Seriously, the food is amazing. Parking is non existent. Oh, and if you come on the weekend- the wait time for a table is absurd. All the tourists hit this spot up. Go on a weekday and make your life easier... We ordered: pancakes (plain) with bacon & poached eggs. Second dish was French toast. Okay, both places were freaking out of the water- the batter of the pancakes were delightful! So fluffy, not heavy and good flavor. The eggs were poached runny as I asked (Whoohoo!) and the French toast was so light and made perfectly. Parking; absolute crap. This place does NOT have a parking lot. DONT park across the street or they will tow you and Kailua Meter parking is a circus. Yeah. So if you can find parking, great! If not. You're done for. The kicker- meters- only 15m!! Wtf. Walk or Uber here if you can. I would love to go all the time to eat here but because the parking is crap- forget it. I'll take my luck elsewhere and wait until the kaimuki location opens up :) once that happens, it'll be a regular breakfast spot. read more
House sitting in Kailua a few times a year is a great time to explore Kailua and Kaneohe side. Finding places like this, makes it worthwhile. Great food, and great service! We ordered the Lilikoi Pancakes, butter biscuit, corned beef hash locomoco, and the Mokapu omelette. All great choices. read more

Phoned in an order to save time. Upon arriving, I informed the server that I had called in an order. He tells me to go to the noccupied register next to him. I wait standing for a few then sit down on the chair right next to the register. I look in the kitchen and see four take out plates (mines) on the counter. As I'm waiting, four different people walk up and purchase coffee and the employee ignores me sitting there. I overhear the server tell somebody in the kitchen that I'm there for a phone order to which that goes ignored as well. I finally walk up again and wait until somebody gets me my damn food. The kitchen staff weren't exactly busy which is what got to me. Finally got home to a SMALL cold breakfast which cost $14 each!! Save yourself money and time and go to McDonald's instead. read more
