A mostly eaten mochi waffle VERY GOOD!

We were passing through and we wanted to go to a good coffee place and we stumbled upon Moke's. It was very cozy and the staff were very friendly and they welcomed dogs. They have lots of outdoor seating. Their prices range from $5 - $15. They had a lot of delicious breakfast options, a good ambiance, and nice music. The food is very good and I highly recommend Moke's to anyone who wishes to go to a nice and friendly place.

I wanted to like this place, but it fell a little short of my expectations to be honest. The interior is so cute, warm, and comforting! Their staff were so kind and warm, I feel like they truly care about the experience at the register as a genuine connection with their customers! My issue was the coffee and food, though. I feel that, for a place to have a "coffee & kitchen" tagline, they must be on-point with their coffee. This was not the case. My latte was watery, and my friend's chai was worse! Their breakfast sandwich was good, but too oily. I was so excited for the ambience, but ultimately I was a bit disappointed...

It's a small, quiet cafe with limited indoor seating but about twice as much seating outside (a dozen tables or so), which is nice in the warmer weather months. We stopped here to get a couple breakfast sandwiches. They were not bad; we ordered the Joan Jett sandwich with bacon added to it. It would have been better if the bacon was cooked; it was only about half cooked. They also sell coffee and tea, and they have some beer and stuff as well. Maybe even fill growlers? But definitely had cans in their cooler. They don't have online ordering, but they do have an order hotline you can call to place your order ahead for pickup. There's a small parking lot I. The back fit the businesses here.

    Bacon,egg, potato breakfast taco

Soooo good! I LOVED the bananarama waffle!! Absolutely delicious !! The bacon breakfast taco was also delicious. I also got an iced white mocha that was perfectly made. Not too sweet and not too bitter. Would definitely recommend!!! I went on a Friday and I didn't have to wait very long for my food maybe 15mins. Just beware of weekends because the wait for food on Saturday was 40mins and I couldn't wait that long.

Coffee is amazing. One of Eugene's best! Food was mid. Overcooked eggs and not worth the shmoney. Waffle is ur best bet if you must eat here. Cute place tho :) Edit: chai is not good

My vegan daughter picked this place for our one breakfast meal while visiting. The ambiance inside is nice, it's a popular place and our order taker was pretty cool. I asked what kind of animal the Moke mascot is and she thought it was some sort of sloth/Sasquatch character. Funny conversation. For breakfast, I had the Fantastic Four Tacos, my vegan daughter had the RBG sandwich and my other daughter had the the 9-5 savory waffle. For drinks we each had a different one including, a Lavender Latte, a Vanilla Latte, and a Caramel Latte. We all enjoyed our meals and I could've had more food for my money but everything was very good and flavorful. Moke's seems to have a big community involvement presence and that is a good way to do business. I will return here one day.

Can the waffles be made vegan?

There is dairy and butter in the waffle batter. We do offer some vegan cookies as well as several vegan dishes on the menu. Our RBG Tofu sandwich and our Vegan Breakfast Taco are great. Cheers, Mike

Some of the other reviews were negative on their food...but our food was fantastic. The burgers were moist and not greasy. The waffle cut fries were hot and crispy. The bartenders work non stop to get your drinks and food out quickly. My daughter loved the churro style donuts (but they are messy). The decor is a D&D dive bar scene....so many things to look at as you wait for bingo to start. They just changed the rules and you do have to pay $1.00 per person to play bingo...but where else can you get that type of entertainment for a dollar. We can't wait to return.

At one point, the bartender disappeared for approximately fifteen minutes, leaving several patrons waiting without acknowledgment. When she finally returned, she casually mentioned she had been on a personal phone call. A second woman then stepped behind the bar, immediately clarifying that she was not, in fact, a bartender. When I expressed concern about the extended absence and lack of service--something I would consider standard feedback in any hospitality setting--I was abruptly told I was "speaking badly" about the staff and was asked to leave. This kind of defensiveness and disregard for patrons is deeply unprofessional, especially for an establishment that positions itself within a community where communication, accountability, and mutual respect are paramount. Eugene has a growing nightlife and alternative culture scene, and many people--locals and visitors alike--expect spaces that uphold those values. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend The Serpent & the Sparrow. There are other venues in town that offer a far more welcoming environment, competent service, and a genuine respect for their patrons.

On our first morning in our new town, we went to The Original Pancake House for breakfast. It was a simple meal, but one we were grateful we could afford. When we asked for the check, our server smiled and told us someone had already paid for it. That small act of kindness made me feel like I truly belonged in our new home. It reminded me that even in an unfamiliar place, there were good people who cared about others. Since that day, every time we visit The Original Pancake House, we make it a point to pay it forward whenever we can. It's our way of honoring the kindness that meant so much to us and has stuck with me. Beyond the beautiful memory, the food is incredible. It's hands down the best breakfast I've ever had. Comfort food that tastes like it's made with love. You must try the Dutch baby! The ladies who work there are always so warm and welcoming, making every visit feel like coming home. The Original Pancake House in Eugene is a charming, family-friendly spot with genuine warmth and stellar coffee. The casual, lively vibe makes it feel like the proper brunch destination you'd hope for from a legendary breakfast joint. We ordered their hero dish--a side of buttermilk pancakes--and the Irish Omelette. The pancakes delivered real flavor: fluffy, tender, with classic buttermilk tang. My only critique? They arrived cool, likely from sitting in the warmth window a bit too long. Off the griddle, these would shine. The Irish Omelette was more disappointing. Designed to be airy and light with corned beef and potatoes inside, ours was overcooked and rubbery--far from the delightful, pillowy texture it should be. For a restaurant with this history, execution should be consistent. The coffee and service were warm and attentive, which goes a long way. 3/5 stars. Worth visiting for atmosphere, especially if your pancakes arrive hot. Try during slower service to avoid the window-sit fate. The Portland location executes at a higher level.
