Definitely the best coffee on the island. Delicious local bagels along with vegan/gf friendly baked goods. The breves were done perfectly and I appreciated that they have an 8oz option. The pourover yigracheffe is worth many moments of silence to thoroughly soak in the flavors. The staff is friendly, funny and honest. read more

While I am a huge fan of local businesses this one left me hanging. The straws broke almost immediately, due to this neither my husband or I were able to finish our drinks. Though unfortunately I'm not sure I would have finished it anyways. I'm always into trying the house special but both our drinks just felt watered down. read more

This is a cute little food truck like coffee shop that has an awesome view about how they run their business. The fresh baked goods are full of flavor and fresh baked daily. We had the coconut pineapple muffin and the blue berry muffin; so moist and DELISH!!! Their smoothies are a must try. I had the tropical smoothie. They also have a berry and nut smoothies. We stopped here after spending all morning up on the northside with our eyes set on Small Town before returning to the southside. After having tried a number of other coffee places, Small Town was definitely a to-try place, especially after reading up so much about their cold brew. I love their charming (and hipster) set-up that's off the main highway, and you could easily miss this if you weren't looking for it. The coffee itself was good and I certainly enjoyed how much they gave you for the price! Some of their smoothies also looked delicious, as did some of the baked items that were sitting on the window sill. Definitely make a stop here if you're going from north to south or vice versa! read more

They had a golden milk special with turmeric and it was delicious. I always need more turmeric in my life. The bagels were also delicious, the only downside was the chickens trying to steal our food while we tried to have a nice quite breakfast. read more

I'm sorry but read the reviews and thought I would try this place for breakfast. Upon arrival at 9:45am we go to the counter to order after selecting from their menu and find out that they are out of waffles. It's a breakfast item and they are out at 9:45? Then we all changed our order to sandwiches and they came out after thirty minutes. Nothing special about the flavors folks. Pretty disappointing. The place could be a cool venue but needs cleaning and some organization. Shouldn't take 30+ minutes to prepare a scrambled egg on a roll. It wasn't even that busy...skip this one when on the island, not worth the money or more importantly your time. read more

Mostly get the hemp mochas. Most of the time they are perfect, toe-tingling. Update - since they've moved into their food truck (and less extraneous staff) I haven't had a drink or service that wasn't perfect. Your chances of getting some of the best espresso on island here is pretty high. read more

Keep coming back here every day of our trip. Just a small truck but the coffee is just fantastic. I love the cold brew (try it with the cream and syrup, you won't regret it!) Also most days they have these amazing bagels. Grab a coffee here and walk over to the beach trail. Great find! read more

I had a great ginger spiced chai ice tea here and on the next visit vanilla black tea...delicious! This spot is so well decorated and designed. This is the first cafe I have visited on Kauai with a funky, Bay Area/Seattle vibe. Loved the lamp shades made out of book pages and enjoyed visiting their little bookstore. The outside seating with the art was beautiful. From the coffee bar I could see the summit of Waialeale on the left and the ocean on the right. Beautiful! Will definitely be back for the writing class on Thursdays and the open mic on Friday. read more

The espresso here is amazing. This is the only place I'm aware of on Kauai (and I've tried many places) that makes a true Italian espresso. The staff is also very friendly. I'm a regular to Kauai and I found this place on my last trip. It will now be a daily spot for me in the future. read more

we stayed on Kauai in 2008 and drove from Princeville down to Kapaa every day just to get espresso from this coffeeshop. We're going to vacation on Kauai again in April this year and we're staying in Kapaa this time just so we can be in walking distance of Small Town Coffee. (We're hoping that it's still there after 2 years! Hopefully the fact that there are recent reviews on Yelp means yes!) read more

Sadly disappointed... Had heard nice things and was looking forward to trying it out. Its cute! Has tons of charm! The coffee was good! But when I walked in with my 3 yr old I just got funny looks from the staff. The guy in front of me in line was nice, but the young man behind the counter and the barista were very cold and "unhappy" seeming. Kinda felt like I was at one of those hipster coffee places back home (orange county, ca) where if you dont know the lingo you're not cool enough. I wanted to order some food but saw no menu anywhere and when I asked about breakfast the guy just pointed to the danishes behind the glass, still emotionless... So I grabed a danish and a small latte and left. At leaving, I walked by the server/counter guy and said "by" with a smile and was ignored :( read more

Transitioning from Alaska to Kauai was easier knowing that they have as many coffee joints as we do. This little "coffee bus" has good beverages, friendly service. Made me feel right at home (minus the snow and sub zero temps)... The standard Americano was perfect.
