Love the simplicity of the coffee menu. Basic coffee drinks and a couple smoothie choices. I got the berry smoothie once and it was very refreshing. Their coffee tastes good, is decently priced, and it gets the job done. They have a variety of vegan pastries which is a huge plus. I once tried the vegan lemon poppyseed bread which tasted very fresh and rich. It's often difficult to find vegan treats that match the moistness and consistency of normal pastries, but this bread tasted amazing. Quaint and quirky: I was visiting Kapa'a for the day and came across this little coffee shop. I do not drink coffee anymore, but this place serves loose leaf tea in ceramic cups, a sure sign of class. Yet, this place is cozy and casual. It is nestled in the Kapa'a crafts fair grounds behind the flags, and I almost missed it. I was so glad to have found this little oasis of calm and comfort. I tried a green tea with turkey sandwich combo and was not disappointed. The menu is not extensive, but the food is good. The ambiance is filled with local art and recycled chairs. I saw people chatting, but I just savored my meal and enjoyed the American Standards playing overhead. Small Town has a computer with printer unit for those so inclined to go online, for a small price. I highly recommend a stop at this coffee house, for a hot or cold beverage, for a quick bite to eat, or for just a little breather after a long day of touring. read more

We drove here nearly every day from Lihue just for coffee. It was delicious and consistent! They serve a nice bold coffee and the friendly ladies do not make you feel like you are just another cup of joe. Also, it is rare that a coffee shop serves a "bulletproof". Theirs was delicious yet a tad overpriced. We make our own version at home and I know it definitely isn't $5 a cup to produce...but that is my only gripe. read more

This is definitely a small town coffee shop. Great bonus is that they have free wifi. They also have 2 computers with internet access. They charge $1 for 10 minutes and 25 cents/page to print. This is where I came to feed my internet addiction. Even though I was on vacation I still wanted to feel connected to the world. They have a little kids corner with toys for parents to keep their children occupied while they have a cup of coffee and peruse the newspaper. My husband and I stopped by Small Town Coffee while on our honeymoon. We absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is wonderful especially on a nice day. We enjoyed sitting behind the truck surrounded by beautiful plants. My husband had the pour over and said it was smooth and delicious. I had the Shaken espresso and it was one of my favorite iced coffees of the week. A must stop while in Kauai! read more

They screwed up my order but the guy back there blamed it on me. I understood it as an honest mistake on their part BUT the guy went out of his way to blame me for taking the wrong drink when all 3 of my drinks came up at the same time. I had ordered an iced oat milk latte with vanilla. What came up was a hot oat milk latte with vanilla. Easy mistake to assume it was mine right? So I walk it back and explain to the nice lady that I had ordered an iced drink- she says no problem we'll fix it. The guy yells "you must've grabbed the wrong drink!" Uhh ok. Well they don't take names and they're busy so with no real way to know who's drinks are up except to remember your order, the system is kinda stupid, especially when there are crowds of people waiting for very similar drinks. So they bring up my iced oat milk latte and I thank the lady. The guy then proceeds to clap facetiously and says "nice job!" as if I'm the one who screwed up. It was all I could do to not lose my temper- but I took a deep breath and walked away. Whatever issues this guy has are his own. Won't be going back. Hate to give 1 star because the nice ladies he has working for him shouldn't be punished for his dickish behavior, and that's a shame - but I do hope he treats them better than this customer. read more

Born and raised on Kauai and this place has thee best coffee, but NOT fresh baked goods. My coffee cake muffin still had white flour inside and top was melted. This was the best coffee we had during our trip to Hawaii, although the second day that we went they left the flavor out of our lattes. They have a few vegan options for breakfast or a quick snack, including several vegan & gluten-free pastries. The pastries are good, nothing mindblowing, but it's a good option for those with dietary restrictions if you just need a quick option or something for the plane home. They have the widest selection of non-diary milks we found anywhere on the islands, with soy, rice, hemp, oat, and coconut available (no almond, though!). They also have some smoothie options that aren't full of coconut or pineapple, if those fruits aren't your jam or you just want something different after tropical overload. read more

Loved this place! A friend from Oahu recommended it and so we went there our first morning, the next and the next! They are a no flare kind of place because they are confident in their product. The coffees were delicious: black drip, americano, and lattes. The baristas were friendly and talkative. They make their pastries in house (not in the truck but nearby) so that is a plus+! Let's start off with the fact that I like good coffee and espresso. Starbucks is, meh.... I stumbled across this little shop while on vacation and was staying a few blocks away, after Yelping for coffee. This place is great, this is a true Coffee Cafe. The baristas here actually know how to make espresso drinks. They are not using automated, push button, self cleaning/loading machines. They made fantastic Cappuccinos for me. The foam was nice and thick with tight bubbles. They even throw down some foam art to add that finishing touch. The coffee / espresso was delicious. It looked like they were using Barefoot Coffee while I was there, which is funny because the company is local to me. I actually buy their beans for my own use. They have a good selection of pastries and make tasty bagel / breakfast sandwiches. I wish this place was in my neighborhood. It would be my regular coffee shop it if was. One word of caution though, in typical island tradition, the service can be on the slow side for those use to the typical in and out type of shops. Not a knock in any way. Just don't expect to run in and out for a quick cup. read more

This is the only coffee place I've ever seen that has Bulletproof coffee, what I usually make at home. It was a little slice of home, and much better than the Bulletproof coffee I make at home.
