The food was SO GOOD. I definitely recommend the crab guacamole if you like crab and avocados. The chips with the guacamole were very crispy and yummy. I was super lucky and went on thanksgiving day. They had turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato, cranberries, and stuffing as a serving. And for dessert they had a SUPER YUMMY PUMPKIN PIE. The mole is good. The staff was rude. We made reservations and called even an hour before to make sure that we have a confirmed spot. When we arrived, group of five and the guy told us that we can't seat outside unless we are okay with sitting under the sun. Wtf? Yes, we made reservations to sit under the sun while having Mexican food- it's our annual Sedona tradition. When we reminded him that we had called, he got even more agitated. This was the only poor experience of our Sedona trip. Our table sucked and he didn't let us sit anywhere else - because they were reserved! The waiter brought us someone else's order and charged us for things we didn't order. She comped us for one of the entrees for the mistake. My tacos were good. Enchiladas didn't look appetizing to me. The chips and mole was good. Overall, I would skip this place due to poor service, especially the attitude of the guy. read more

Yelp never fails! Vacationing in AZ and last minute tour of Cathedral, 7 of us were famished after the hike. Molé was on the list of recommended places, and so glad they were!! Not a huge place, there seems to be two sides...perhaps one for large groups (I think a wedding party dined to the right as you enter) To the left there are a couple of booths and a few tables, and seating outside with a nice view of the sunset over the mountains. The food itself was pretty good, Mole sauce was really good. Rice and black beans are decent. Could only give it three stars though because the tortillas were cold and lowkey raw. Stopped at Mole Sedona for a dinner spot as my wife is a huge fan of mole. This spot is right on 89 in the heart of Sedona. Tons of ample parking as it sits adjacent to a hotel that really didn't seem all that busy. We were greeted and seated immediately which was awesome considering it was dinner time in Sedona on a Saturday night. I'm guessing the thunderstorms that rolled through influenced the number of guests. The dining area is clean. Menus and tables were clean and clear. Fresh chips and salsa were delicious. Server was friendly, courteous and attentive. I opted for the mole con pollo enchiladas. Chicken was incredibly tender and flavorful. Mole was also flavorful, admittedly and albeit, not necessarily the best I've had. Presentation was exceptional as were the ingredients, overall. It's obvious they care about their food and their guests. Pricing did seem a bit high to me when compared to other Mexican restaurants in Sedona. My wife and I had (2) soft drinks and no alcohol and the same dish of mole con pollo it was $62. Add in a tip for 20% and you're up and over $72. Was it a $72 experience? ...I'll let you be the judge. Don't get me wrong. The food was great, but let's be honest. They were enchiladas. $30 for 2 enchiladas and with no sides honestly feels like a crime lol. I come to Sedona all the time & would've considered coming back but was so shocked at how stingy a restaurant can be. I'm Mexican American & I know it's not that hard to include rice & beans as a side to a main dish. Definitely not coming back & don't recommend. There's far more restaurants in the area. I absolutely loved my experience at Mole Sedona. The white fish ceviche was amazing (not too tart) and was served with the best tortilla chips I've ever had. I would have licked the plate clean if I could. I ordered the shrimp enchilada based upon previous Yelp reviews. I loved it, just wished I got two enchiladas instead of only one. For $20 for this entree and to be served only one enchilada, I was very disappointed (and it wasn't that big). Flavors were awesome but felt like I didn't get value for the money. The chef should rethink the portion size on this entree. I would have given 5 stars but because of the portion size, I had to take off a star. To end the meal, I ordered the churros. Again, this was excellent with the correct portion amount for the $20 price tag. This dessert was off the hook with 4 good sized caramel stuffed churros and a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. Service was great and she was apologetic for the enchilada portion size. I will be back with my husband and I hope the entree portion size of those enchiladas sure change when we visit again. Went here for a Saturday dinner with my friends for my birthday. Made a reservation over the phone because we were a larger group. It was easy to make a reservation and I was happy to get a confirmation by text the day before. Outside was not very attractive but the interior decor was very nice. I wanted to try fish ceviche. Loved the Suadero (Brisket) enchiladas. And as a marrow lover, delighted in the Elote corn with marrow. One of us had the Huaraches with pollo--they tried everything we ordered and this was their favorite. We came to Mole two days in a row because it was sooo good! Service was excellent both days. We ate outside for the views of the mountains. First day, we went from shade to full sun over the course of the meal (2p-3p)--a little uncomfortable. Day trip from Scottsdale. 12:30 reservation, and we snuck in early. Outside seating is awesome. Service is excellent. The chips and salsa are worth 3 times the $4 they charge. All homemade, and the chips are about 4" in diameter circular, and the salsa is the bomb. I had the polo tacos, and my wife had the fish tacos plus a peach sangria. Food was awesome, and the sangria was over the top. Now, everything is 5 star, but, all food is really made "fresh", not like a typical Mexican restaurant where things have been sitting for days. My husband and I spent last weekend at the Arabella Hotel in Sedona, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience! One of the highlights of our trip was dining at Mole Restaurant, where we had the pleasure of being served by Larry, our young and enthusiastic server. From the moment we were seated, Larry's upbeat and infectious attitude set the tone for a delightful evening. He was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. My husband ordered the skirt steak, which was unbelievably tender and bursting with flavor--he couldn't stop raving about it! I had the pork tenderloin, and it was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spice. Every bite was a treat! To top it off, we both tried the blood orange margarita from the bar, and let me just say, it was by far one of the best margaritas we've ever had. We did not get a chance to meet the bartender, but big kudos to him/her for knowing their art of alcohol. The balance of flavors was impeccable, and it paired perfectly with our meals. Between the amazing food, Larry's fantastic service, and the beautiful ambiance of Mole Restaurant, and the VIEWS!!! The red rocks are absolutely breath taking! There was minimal bright corn flavors or elote spice. - $25 for two enchiladas was pricy and the whole dish was pretty flavorless. We found that most restaurants in Sedona with views were booked up weeks in advance, but this gem was able to take us as a walk in and had the best scenery we could imagine from their trendy outdoor deck. Their take on Mexican was very fresh and trendy, with homemade sauces and fresh tortillas. I got the shrimp enchiladas with chipotle sauce and a side of slaw and it was so flavorful and lovely. The portion was easily consumed in one sitting, so don't expect leftovers. My boyfriend got the carnitas enchiladas and found them to be very flavorful and decadent. The server had great knowledge of allergens, and unfortunately their rice is gluten free but I loved the slaw alternative. And the corn tortillas were to die for! Our first time at Mole and we're hooked. We started with a perfect white sangria, chips and salsa and their corn dip appetizer. We couldn't stop eating the appetizer; delicious combination of flavors to complement their homemade chips. The entrees we're decadent. The braised beef enchiladas were stuffed full with meat and had the best flavor. My husband loved his tacos as well. We finished with the churros with vanilla bean ice cream. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was spectacular. They offered both indoor and outdoor seating and both were very nice. Ceviche with white fish was beautifully presented complete with an array of supporting flavors - awesome - however - the fish wasnt allowed to cook in citrus marinade and was translucent like sashimi and not opaque as when "finished" in lime/citrus. Would I recommend this place? Hard yes! When I came to Sedona, all I wanted was good Mexican food. What I got instead was GREAT Mexican food. Consisting of chips and salsa to the chicken tacos with grilled Serrano pepper. Everything tasted excellent. I have never been to Northern Mexico but I like to think that if the chef is from there then I know what good Northern Mexican food tastes like. I had never had authentic Molé sauce so I asked for it on the side and now all I want is to slow cook a pork shoulder in it. I can only give this restaurant 5 stars but it deserves more. read more

Our waitress was very sweet, knowledgeable, and attentive. Mole Sedona was one of the options on Resy, and I was ready to try some delicious Mexican food in Sedona! There is plenty of parking around the restaurant. The restaurant is connected to the Arabella hotel. The hostess informed me that these two are not owned by the same person. There are about 7 dining tables inside. There is the main bar to the left of the hostess and main dining room. There are about 10 dining tables out in the upstairs outdoor patio, which gets filled when the weather is appropriate. I would recommend getting a reservation when dining in Sedona because some popular restaurants will need 2-3 months in advance. It seems that there will be a wait for most people dining here, even with a reservation. Our reservation time was around sunset. We missed the view because we waited about 20 minutes until one of the outdoor patio tables opened up. FOOD: Guacamole with Chips (3/5): It was not the freshest I've tried, and it needed more salt. I will say that I prefer my homemade guacamole edition to this. Mushroom Chipotle Cream Pollo (4/5): If you are a mushroom lover, then order this! This mushroom-chipotle sauce was delicious and creamy with slightly smoky, earthy flavors! The chicken was cooked just right. This was recommended by our server. I would definitely order this again. Prickly Pear Flan (3/5): It was good and not too sweet. It's basically normal flan that is on top of the prickly pear sauce. I did not think it was anything special. The service was good. I got the pescado and carne asada street tacos, all were delicious and a good portion size. It's not so much that it feels too heavy - it's just right. The white sangria was also super delicious. After a bad first meal in Sedona, this spot redeemed Sedona food for us. We came around 4pm and ate outside on the balcony with beautiful views. Our order: - Fruto de Cactus Margarita (substitute Mezcal instead of Tequila) - Chicharrón - Aguacate Frito (Avocado Fries) - Tamaels - Molé con Pollo Enchiladas - Prickly Pear Flan First things first: the complementary chips and salsa are top notch. My favorite things were: the margarita (the smoky mezcal complemented the prickly pear well), chicharrón (the citrus sauce was delicious and the meat was done perfectly), and aguacate frito (another delicious sauce). Definitely don't leave without getting the Prickly Pear Flan. It was the highlight of the meal for me. We had a lot of prickly pear stuff, but this tops the list. Had dinner here upon arriving in Sedona. This is a modern Mexican restaurant that has potential to be really great, but a few little things had me subtract 1 star. We had reservations right at sunset to see the sun setting on the red rocks, but the windows were kinda grungy so the view was pretty hazy. Then as the sun set, they dimmed the lights inside so it was REALLY dark. Thus my bad photos of the food (I had to turn the flash on). Our waiter, although friendly, was absent-minded. He forgot to tell us about the specials, and forgot to refill my water even after asking a couple of times. Like I said, the food was good... + Lamb adobo - this lamb shank was huge. The meat was so tender it fell off the bones. The mole sauce was perfect, with just the slightest sweetness. + Mariscos enchiladas - 2 enchiladas: 1 shrimp and 1 Dungeness crab. Both were so good, but I actually preferred the shrimp. They were served with a mole verde, which was so interesting. Never had green mole.
