I loved the beer, and the bartender was very knowledgeable about them. He recommended a couple of them based on my tastes and he did not steer me wrong. Food was also excellent, I really enjoyed the BLT and the house made smoky ketchup that came with the fries. Only downside: kitchen was in the weeds and it took over 30 minutes for my food order. Will definitely come back when I have a little more time.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Let's start with the inviting and invigorating service. Garrett and Carter were so fun and very informative. We felt valued in this space, and I appreciated that. The space is great for large or small groups. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We went late night on the 4th of July so food wasn't an option. However, to my surprise they make their own seltzers. I love me a good seltzer. That white peace seltzer is delicious and refreshing. The raspberry iced tea seltzer was quite refreshing as well. I can't wait to go back!!!

We loved every moment here. We came on Labor Day, and thankfully, they were open. The wait was short, and we were promptly seated inside, where the AC was nice and the space was very open. My Cuban sandwich with coleslaw was fantastic, with the bread toasted just right, making each bite satisfying. My girlfriend's chicken sandwich had an onion mayo and roasted peppers that took it over the top. This was definitely one of the highlight spots to enjoy in Carlisle.

We didn't eat, but the food menu looked good. We had two tasty IPAs, and enjoyed sitting at the bar. Friendly bartender, fun decor, and a beautiful renovation of a High Street location.

My two favorite beers on tap were "Black Powder Stout," very smooth with dark chocolate flavors and "Peanut Butter Porter," creamy and sweet with some peanut butter and hazelnut taste/smell. Food is really good, you must try their "Molly Tots" their charred-onion cream sauce and smoked-chili ketchup sauce are so good! The Bacon Burger is another great option, well cooked and a big portion of fries. Great atmosphere and good customer service.

This full service restaurant and brewery is a great addition to downtown Carlisle which otherwise features mostly smaller boutique shops and restaurants based on the few times I've been there. We went on a holiday and they were open at 11 and serving a full menu. I had a BBQ pork sandwich and the Cuban also looked phenomenal. Both the bread and pork were very fresh, and the service was extremely friendly. Hope to make it back next time with enough time to try a beer too !

Food is well made, service is friendly and the ambiance is fun. A great place to go to for light fare and also a full dinner. You can also sit outside on the patio in the summer time.

Went here on a Friday evening about 4oclock it was prime time to go, not busy at all. It is located in intown Carlisle, so parking could be hard. We, however, did not have an issue finding a spot. We decided to sit outside, and when I said we had the best server, that isn't an understatement. We had Garrett he was full of energy and the sweetest person and great server. I decided on the Tom Collins for $12, my boyfriend got the sample flight of 3 for $6, and my brother got 4 samplers for $10. We got a side of pretzel logs with beer cheese for $6. It came with three pretzel logs and beer cheese. The pretzels were good. However, the beer cheese was a little grainy. I would have liked it to be a lot smoother. However, it still had a good taste.

I have no idea how the food is because the bartender was so nasty we left and we don't intend to ever go back.

Mundane food and cursory customer service. We were basically treated like animal. Waiters have upper hands in this restaurant.

More kind and accommodating on the phone than just about any restaurant I've ever called. We came in like a half hour early, over the course of 20 minutes, cause we were traveling in multiple vehicles from ways away... I called ahead, but they said it was no problem at all. They were super helpful, I got drinks started while the rest of the party arrived. Ordered a bunch of appetizers... Mozzarella, sweet potato, waffle, fries, calamari... With like three different dipping sauces. Each of those was fantastic. Folks ordered burgers, chicken, cheesesteaks, traditional fair, like cottage pie, etc. Quantities were massive. Food was tasty. Many to go boxes were provided. The desserts were a surprise... I got my bread pudding to go. And then a few people got the lava cake and shared it. Great beer selection. Great cocktail selection. Great music on the speakers... At least I thought so, the Young'ns weren't as impressed with the sing-along Classics. Our server was beyond helpful, responsive, kind, accommodating,; probably one of the best I've ever had... Is that possible? Big party, I didn't check the details on the check... and the large party tip was included already. So I gave her too much cash for the tip, she stopped me on the way out and wanted to make sure I didn't screw up... Which I did. So she returned a couple bucks. But she earned every every bit for a tip yesterday.

I've been there a few times over the years, and each visit has been about the same: decent food, good drinks, and service that's friendly but sometimes a little slow compared to the crowd size. It's not exceptional, but it's steady, and there's value in that kind of reliability. The atmosphere is distinctly classic, with dark wood paneling, dim lighting, and an overall feel that's equal parts pub and old-school cigar bar. It's a little dated, but in a way that feels intentional--authentic to the town's character. You get the sense that a lot of local business deals and long lunches happen here, and that's part of the charm. The location is just off the main drag where most of the Carlisle festivals and events happen, which can affect how busy it gets. During downtown festivals, expect crowds, but otherwise, it's a good place to relax and catch up over a meal or a pint. Overall, Market Cross Pub isn't trying to reinvent itself--it's simply a solid, familiar spot with dependable food, friendly service, and an atmosphere that fits Carlisle perfectly.

These places some excellent beer. But they also are restaurants. So, maybe beer is a draw in or the food at times. So with that, Drunk Monkey is a pure brewery. They make, sell, distribute, and promote their own product. As far as promoting, I am not sure they need to do much work as the product has really gotten some attention at the street level. I have seen the main beer showing up at local restaurants the last year. There has also been solid word of mouth. Some of their beers are even winning awards. So it didn't take much convincing from a coworker to get me there before our Nittany Lions came on. The brewery, itself, is a tiny place tucked into an old industrial park that use to be home to one of the largest textile mills in the country. Long abandoned, different smaller businesses now call the park home. One of the more sustained businesses is Fisher's bee farm. That brings us to the brewery. The owner of the bee farm decided to start a brewery near his business. Once finding the brewery, you notice that it is a whole in the wall kinda place. But once entering, the place is organized, clean, and the folks are extremely warm and friendly. Everything is clearly marked. Beer prices are payed out in a sheet on the wall. There is a merchandise rack clearly marked. There are cases clearly marked for type. You can tell this is a place where the people love and care about their beer. The lady manning the shop was knowledgable and friendly. She gave us a preview of the beers and described each one as we taste tested the taps. She then offered us a tour of the small brewery which we jumped on. This definitely plussed the experience and ultimately earned that fifth star. We learned that this particular young lady also hand labels, preps, and fills the bottles. So she does more than just look pretty selling the beer. Now for the beer. I really can't remember all the particular names of the beer. But I had a few favorites. In particular, the German wheat beer was fantastic. That is what I got my growler filled with. Some of the other beers that tasted great, Kraken and one named Mistress or something to that effect. Fittingly, the mistress had a tap handle in the shape of a ship figure head. Speaking of which, all the beers have nautical names based on the folklore of Captain Jack which many local landmarks are named. I have nothing negative to say about Drunk Monkey. They are in an obscure location. The place is small and doesn't look like much from the outside. But like most really great businesses, it is about the knowledge of the people behind the business. Drunk Monkey has plenty of that! If you are in the area on a Wednesday or Saturday, stop in for a taste.

It is in the main town Carlisle so parking can be a little rough, especially on a busy weekend. We went on a Friday and it was not very busy at all, so we sat at the bar. We did get a menu drink, and it was the adult root beer float it was very good!!! It's a good place for drinks and appetizers, but the limited meal menu doesn't seem to be worth much.

Like, we got mustard on our clothes from an unclean table; food and napkin scraps all stuck in the grass everywhere you looked. Then, the service outside is through a window, which in itself is no problem. The issue is that it was single server on a Friday night and the line took a really long time.
