I stumbled on this place when working in the area and was so glad I did. With consistantly delcious pub food and a nice selection of beer on tap this place has me coming back again and again. It is a great place to get a bite to eat before an event at Madison Square Garden. The beer battered chicken fingers are AWESOME. Great casual and laid back vibe. I went with some friends after a show at the Magnet Theater. Every time I've been here, the waitresses are usually peeved about something. That said, the food was ok. For one of my friends who ordered the wings here, they were undercooked, which disappointed him, but the staff allowed him to order something else. This is 1 of my favorite pubs in NYC. Its not for everyone, but the ambiance is perfect for just watching the game and having a beer.

Was staying in the area. Looking for a nice bar to have a drink and a bite. Came to the Molly wee, it was super busy. We managed to get a drink from the bar. Paul ( the bartender) was so nice and attentive. We got served in a quick manner ( for it being so busy) we got a table. Had a few more drinks and some food. Whenever we went to the bar Paul made us feel like we were well taken care of. This is my 3rd time in NYC I come for business. I will come back to the Molly wee anytime in staying in Manhattan. This was a great little Irish pub that we stopped at while waiting for a show. The Guiness was spot-on and the North Irish bartender friendly. It had a number of televisions showing an NFL game and so might be a bit more sports-bar-generic than picky New Yorkers might want, but for us on a rainy Sunday night, it was exactly what we were needing. This establishment is absolutely unprofessional and a joke ! I went to the bar for the first time yesterday and my friend and I ordered 2 chocolate martinis. The martinis alone were great ! The professionalism of this BARTENDER and MANAGER were disgusting! I drank possibly a quarter of my drink but the complaint wasn't about the drink it was about the hair on my glass. As I told the bartender and SHOWED her the hair she took it upon herself to take it off and tell me it's not a hair ! (The hair was hers by the way !) I told her clearly my hair, my friends, and pretty much the next 2 people down have black hair she was the only one with blonde/gold hair. She picked up a this WHITE cloth & told me it was a piece of that. I couldn't believe it ! I wouldn't have cared if she gave me another glass but to flat out tell me I'm wrong then walk off was disgusted. I left the drink there & STILL PAID FOR IT ! After paying for it I went to find the manager and explained everything to her. The way this woman SARCASTICALLY acted companionate was HORRIBLE. All I could do was say thank you & leave. They didn't care whatsoever about my concern and I felt I was racially profiled as to how I was treated ! As if it's something someone of my race does to not pay a bill ! One of the best kept secrets of NYC! Perfect Irish pub with the best service in the world. I guarantee you will absolutely love this place and if your a Rangers or Knicks fan you'll love it even more because it is the perfect place to hit before and after the game! $7.50 for a Guinness....damn. It was a tasty Guinndoggs though. I'd say this is a great spot to come toss some back before a Rangers game but no reason to stop in otherwise. The bar has a throwback old school NY feel to it. All the bartenders are Irish and the bar was packed with old timer Rangers fans and/or blue collar workers. The kind you can talk shop with. Fortunately for everyone the Rangers ended up wrecking the Bruins that night! You can either get lucky and sit at the bar or grab one of the tables they have in the back left. The bar is nice and has a bunch of plasmas to watch the games on. Standard mass marketed beers on tap. They also played some good rock and metal tunes which helps get you pumped to go watch the Rangers rip sh*t. Didn't sample any of the food. It's kind of cramped near the bar if you have to stand (like I did) so I'd recommend getting here early to secure a seat at the bar. read more

I have been here many times but today the bartender was beyond rude, i had placed an order for pick up and her attitude was like go fuck yourself , i got my order and payed but she could bare be bothered to put my change down, so i give places 1 shot, being rude for no reason means this place is dead to me. I was looking for a place near pen station to meet up with drinks with my friends from NYC and my fiance's friends from NJ so it would be convenient for everyone to get home after a long night of drinking. I found this place on yelp and it sounded just right, low key, not loud so we could all talk and mingle, close to penn station decent priced drinks and not over crowded. I called to make sure they had space since we were going to be bet 25-35 people. They said that'd be fine for saturday and put in a reservation for me. When we arrived saturday they said they had no reservations for anyone. It was empty so we asked if we could just drink there anyway and they said sure, but seemed really pissed off about it and insisted i hadn't called in. I checked my phone log and sure enough when i re-dialed the number it was the Molly Wee.... We stayed from 7-1am and were pretty much the only people in the bar the whole time which was nice. What was weird though is that the wait staff all seemed annoyed that we were there - even though they had no other business. And after drinking that much and bringing in 30ish people they didn't give anyone a drink on the house. Usually after your 6th beer with appetizers bars will pour you one on the house. Spent a good 4 hours in this bar one afternoon with my wife and 2 good friends, we stumbled upon it whilst heading towards MSG. MSG was supposed to be the first attraction of a few we wanted to cram in before we flew home to England that very day. We were only meant to pop in for a quick drink and a bite to eat but ended up spending our final few hours in New York in this bar. A waste of a day? Not a chance, we had a great time. Superb relaxed atmosphere, the bar maid was an absolute gem. An irish girl, can't remember her name, but she was a star. One of the friendliest bar maids i've come across infact. We spent quite alot of cash in that bar but i don't mind spending money when i'm having a good time. Fond memories are priceless. I was at Molly's right before the holidays and they are still solid. I used to go to Molly's after work when I lived in the neighborhood 15 years ago and nothing's changed. Everyone is still super friendly. You can still get a good meal and a cold beer. read more

VEGETARIANS BEWARE!!!!! I came here with friends and family last night before the Springsteen Show at MSG. I was pleasantly surprised to find the menu read that they would be "happy to serve" vegetarian fare. Confident in ordering the Veggie Burger, I settled in for a nice meal. The burger was run-of-the-mill veggie style, HOWEVER, halfway through, I stumbled upon a rather large chunk of BACON under my cheese. I was horrified. Obviously, my burger had not only been cooked alongside my friend's bacon cheeseburger, but had been close enough (soaking up beef grease, no less) to share some of its bacon. The hostess was quick to remove my meal from the bill, but did not offer any consolation with her quick defensive claim that "it wasn't her fault". The $11 saved on the meal is barely compensation for the $25 copay I may be spending at the doctor for treatment for my body's inabilty to process meat proteins, nor the bodily discomfort I will be in for the next 24-48 hours. Whether you are a principled or a medical vegetarian, I highly suggest you avoid eating here. This put a damper on what should have been a very nice evening out. read more
