    Beef fried momos
    Francine P.

The momos here are amazing! You just cannot go wrong. From what I've tried so far, the fried momos, tandoori, and sizzler are delicious! The Chaat was pretty good, too. You can also buy them frozen so you can make them at home whenever you want. So dope! The restaurant is so simple yet so cute. It's cozy and the wall decor is funny and artsy. I've come twice already and will be back for more.

Yessss! Momos of every flavor, cooking style and filling here, yum! Met up with friends here for dinner on a freezing winter weekend evening. The store was on the emptier side probably given the weather outside, with only about a third of their 30 or so seats taken. Seating is first come first serve, no formal waiter service, you order at the counter and they bring the food when it's ready. Staff were helpful in explaining what each item was, the protein options (a choice of chicken or beef for each), and level of spiciness (not too spicy though the accompanying sauces had a kick). We ordered-- - Kothey momo $9.99: selected the beef filling, this was a lightly pan-fried dumpling with a thin dough wrapper and savory minced beef filling. Served with a medium spicy dipping sauce. Good! - Thai soup momo $12.99: came in a curry broth with vegetables, my friend ordered the chicken momos and they came piping hot in the soup. Tasty and warm comfort food for a very cold evening. - Chili momo $11.99: deep fried and served with a tangy sweet and sour chili sauce, peppers and onions, my friend ordered the beef version. The spice level on the chili sauce was pretty mild. Yummy. - Samosa chaat momo $11.99: sprinkled with diced tomato, onion, cilantro doused with green chutney and sitting in a shallow bed of yogurt sauce, these deep fried momo were so flavorful. - Tandoori momo $11.99: I'm not sure if these were baked in a tandoori oven but they were sure seasoned with spices to taste like it , and delicious! Tender and juicy chicken filling. - Sandeko momo $11.99: another deep fried momo (this time I asked for beef) topped with a chunky sauce of soybeans, tomato and onion, filled with minced meat. This was another tasty plate! All the momos we ordered came with 8 pieces, while some of the basic flavors come with a couple more pieces. A single plate is a moderate amount of food for a meal though we ended up ordering six different types to share and try. Each stood out in a different way and I'd heartily recommend all. If there was just one critique it was since it was so cold that night (in the teens Fahrenheit) and no outside wind door that whenever a new customer or delivery pickup driver came in, a rush of freezing cold air also came in. It was quite chilly inside the restaurant for that reason and I had to eat with my jacket on. However that didn't detract from the tasty momos, and I'll certainly be back!

It's a nice, small restaurant with really good Nepalese food. The food does take a bit for it to be ready, but the wait is worth it. Their momo (dumplings) is very filling no matter what you choose.

I was in Jackson Heights yesterday and wanted to get some Momos and saw that Momo Crave is very popular. Went there and saw lots of different momo platters. Decided to go with the main dish of steamed chicken momos. Comes in 10 for $10.99. Also got chicken fried rice for $9.99. Had to wait a while for the food to get ready and decided to use the bathroom in the meantime. The bathroom surprisingly fit my baby stroller even though it was so narrow! I did not need to open the bathroom door or leave my baby unattended outside the bathroom! Anyways, the restaurant was not that crowded on a Saturday afternoon so there were enough seats for me to sit and wait. After some time, I decided to dine in despite the fact that my food was supposed to be takeout. The staff did not complain so I enjoyed my momos and fried rice with my daughter. The momos looked really good and big! Very different than Chinese dumplings that I always get. These momos are round! Also the stuffing tastes different and has some ingredient that stood out in my mouth! The Kathmandu sauce added some flavor although I like to enjoy the momos without any sauce so you can taste it raw without any added flavors. The sauce tasted kind of like subtle peanut sauce. However, the momos were really good! I chowed them down really fast! The fried rice was pretty good too. Lots of peas and carrots apart from the chicken. Chicken was so tender that I can slice the long pieces into bits with my spoon. That's how tender they are. You don't even need a sharp knife! Rice was basmati rice and very long grain! Thin and long rice! My favorite! Very seasoned and flavorful! Will be heading back next time to get more of their other momo flavors!

I came to Momo Crave excited to finally try jhol momos for the first time. The dish came out very picturesque: a bowl of steamed dumplings swimming in a vibrant, creamy-looking sauce. Flavor-wise, the jhol was tangy, sesame-heavy, and had a nutty richness vaguely reminiscent of Fujianese ban mian 拌面 - which, admittedly, isn't my favorite. If you're a fan of those earthy, peanut-y, slightly sharp flavors, you might really enjoy it. For me personally, it just wasn't quite my thing. That said, the momos themselves were well made - soft, juicy, and super comforting. The meal took about 15-20 minutes to arrive. The vibe of the place was casual and chill, and the staff were kind. I'm definitely not writing this place off & will be back to try their chili momos next time.

Absolutely fire Firstly, their menu options are so tempting - good luck picking out what you want. I ordered Chaat momos and my friend got Chili momos. I added one Mango lassi. The Chaat momos were really really good. Perfect blend of spice, hot and cold combination and flavor. The mango lassi was refreshing as well. My friend liked the Chili momos a lot as well. It wasn't very spicy - but still very unique and good. Absolutely recommend.

Jackson Heights is the capital of momos, the Tibetan dumplings. Momo Crave is on the fringe of it, just 2-3 blocks away, on the other side of BQE. The exterior is very unassuming, but it does have a nicely made signage. The interior is pleasant, with small tables along the perimeter, leaving the center of the space unobstructed. Good feng-shui I might say. Walls are decorated with random framed posters and art, some are rather whimsical. The bathroom sign says "Pee Pee Room". Yes, someone has a sense of humor indeed. This being a fusion restaurant, the menu is fun and interesting; but simple and not overwhelming at the same time because it specializes on momos. And all of them are very affordably priced, come with 8 pieces. You really can't go wrong with any. You order and pay at the counter first, and they bring the dishes to your table. Here were our orders (PS. the menu prices are cash prices. The prices reference below are credit card prices): Chilli Momo $12.47. The momos are in their traditional dumpling form, fried I believe, and coated with chilli sauce. Sauce wasn't very spicy, a bit tangy and felt a bit heavy. Good. Tandoori Momo $12.47. Round momos on skewers. This is a nice fun take on momos. Also good. Thai Soup Momo $11.99. Momos are shaped like the Chinese soup dumplings and served over Thai curry soup. This was my favorite. The fragrance of lemongrass accentuated the dish, and the light curry provided the abundance of moist for every bite. There is no question that we will be back to try the rest of their many other takes on momos.

I had this spot bookmarked for so long. There were so many different types of momos and all of them sounds so convincing that it was hard to pick. We settled for the fried momo and Thai soup momo. We ordered at the counter when entering and they bring it to the table. The fried momo had a nice light crispy texture. However, the momo were so salty. The sauce also didn't do very much. The Thai soup momo were delicious. I really like the lemongrass in the soup. The only downside was the momo got stuck to the paper bowl. I usually suck up the juicy goodness, but couldn't with this one, but I enjoyed the broken pieces like noodles. The shop is really bright and carefree. It is self serve and I really like that, no pressure at all. The bathroom sign and shop sign on the shop adds a nice simple and humorous touch. I will come back to try again, since it is different and who can say no to momo.

I absolutely love Momo Crave. The staff is amazing--they give off a warm vibe and are always welcoming people with a smile. I've been to this store so many times now that it feels like home. The momos are so tasty, and my favorite is the Tandoori Momo! Their chicken chili is very flavorful--the meat is tender and the fried peppers and onions are a great touch! There is still a lot that I want to try from this place, but I don't want to gatekeep, so go ahead and give this place a shot! I do want to say that I wasn't very fond of the Jhol Momo, but that's because the soup base is an acquired taste. It's a Nepali style soup base, and if you'd like to give it a try, you can. But it had a hint of a bitter taste that I didn't like too much. The Chaat Momo was another type of Momo that I've tried, and it was really good!

Back to say the tandoori momo is absolutely insane - don't think, just order. Beef was fantastic. Chaat momo and momo eith jhol also hold up! Got them both with chicken.

A long pending review for this place! I had visited Momo Crave while visiting New York last Christmas break. And may I say, my friends and I were obsessed with this place. So much so that sometimes, the agenda of the day was to catch a bus, and 2 subway just to eat momo here :) Starting with the place.. its decent, not too small or big (from NY standard). The ambience is tasteful (few artwork on the wall) and the place is clean. We usually found seating immediately. The staff was courteous and the service was damn fast, Between the four of us, we would devour the incoming momo plates within minutes. Absolutely loved the tandoori chicken momo!! Its too good :) The others were also ok, tried: chilli chicken, veggie momo In my 10 day NYC trip, I went to Momo Crave thrice, and would go back whenever I am visiting!

The food was delicious and came out in a timely fashion. This was my first time having Nepali dumplings and I am obsessed - especially with the chili momo! The night that we came, they were playing an amazing playlist which created a nice, calm vibe. Would definitely come again!

Ask the Community - Momo Crave

    Are there vegetarian momos?

All the momos (to my surprise) can be made veg! So the entire menu is vegetarian friendly! Not all items are vegan friendly, they do use eggs in some elements. Make sure to ask accordingly if you adhere to vegan. Otherwise, vegetarian is fine!

    Do they use Halal meat?

I have verbally confirmed with the owner that all meat is Zabihah halal. While they don't post it on a sign, the verbal confirmation was reassuring! Also, they don't serve any pork or alcohol products.

You can argue that is due to the third party delivery fees, but I've never come across such a pricing for such portions sizes on delivery apps.

The kitchen here doesn't shy away from traditional flavors--the food is unapologetically spicy and savory, avoiding the "overly sweet" profile that many Thai spots fall into. Here's the breakdown of what we tried: Tom Yum Goong: This was the star of the show. It had a sharp, clean heat and a perfect citrus punch without that syrupy finish you often find elsewhere. Crispy Pork Belly: Exactly what you want it to be. The skin was incredibly crunchy, and the meat remained tender, seasoned perfectly to highlight the savory pork flavor. Fried Fish: Deep-fried to perfection with a light, crispy exterior. The sauce paired chili and fish sauce with fresh mango. Crab Fried Rice: Generous with the crab meat and wonderfully "wok-hei" (charred) and salty. It wasn't bogged down by sweet soy sauce, allowing the delicate crab to shine. The only real sweetness of the night came from the Mango Sticky Rice, which was the perfect, cooling end to a very spicy meal. The mango was ripe and the coconut milk was rich, providing the only sugary reprieve of the evening. Service was so nice. The hostess and sever were so nice and friendly. The severer felt like a Thai uncle, he made jokes, gave us napkins, joked with my child. It felt so familial. If you want authentic, spicy Thai food that prioritizes salt, spice, and acid over sweetness, this is your spot.

There were some things we enjoyed, but overall we left feeling that the quality and portions didn't justify the prices. We ordered the chicken curry puffs first. They were much sweeter than I'm used to, and instead of the traditional cucumber relish, they were served with plum sauce. It wasn't terrible, just not what I expected. The roti with Massaman curry had good flavor, but the curry was so thin that it had the consistency of soup rather than a rich curry. It also came without any potatoes, carrots, or onions. I wasn't expecting meat, but I did expect a more traditional Massaman curry. The grilled beef (nuea yang) was cooked well and very tender, but the beef itself was lacking seasoning. Thankfully, the dipping sauces added some flavor. The beef short rib khao soi was another dish that felt underwhelming. The short rib was excellent--fall-off-the-bone tender--but the curry broth itself tasted too light. I personally think it needed more curry paste and more depth of flavor, especially for a dish that's around $40. The biggest disappointment was the kua kling chicken and the Hat Yai fried chicken. Both portions were surprisingly small considering the price. That's where I really felt the value wasn't there. Unfortunately, the service didn't help either. It wasn't rude, but it felt inattentive and lacked the warmth and hospitality I usually associate with Thai restaurants. I always want to support fellow Thai-owned businesses, so writing this review honestly makes me sad. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from trying the restaurant--this is simply my family's experience. Everyone has different tastes, and yours may be completely different from ours. For us, though, the combination of light flavors, small portions, and lackluster service left us disappointed, especially for a birthday dinner.

Gulp provides unlimited Taiwanese pickled mustard greens (suan cai, 酸菜), and the Taiwanese popcorn chicken makes a fantastic side. I tried the braised pork rice as well- while it's southern Taiwan style (and I personally prefer northern style), it's still great. To drink, they serve traditional Taiwanese black tea (古早味紅茶). It is a bit on the light side, but still tasty. The service is quick and the staff are friendly, plus they speak Mandarin and some are from Taiwan. As you can see, it's the real deal! While Gulp's midtown spot goes for a trendy, modern Taiwanese vibe, the decor here captures the cozy, nostalgic feel of a small street-side noodle shop right by every Taiwanese's hometown. I hope they restart their Taiwanese breakfast soon!

My braised pork noodles was a delicacy and tasted maybe even better than some places in Taiwan, and I'm Taiwanese. The unlimited tea is a nice touch. However, dang, was this place expensive, but I guess that's New York for you. I didn't wait too long on a Saturday lunchtime, maybe around 30 minutes for a small seat. It seemed like takeout was very popular. Dining in is super small. There's only counter space, so I wouldn't bet on it. Probably better to get to-go if you are nearby, or come early so you can get a spot. There is a speakeasy in the back too. That's a different place though

The Singaporean laksa had some real nice flavor to it, though I do wish there was a bit more variety of the toppings. The inside is nice and spacious and there's free WiFi if you need to do any work! Popcorn chicken and spicy dumplings were regular, nothing to make it outstanding, but still delicious. The place is like a lunchroom. Not sure if we were just supposed to go take our own seats. There was no one to greet us as the ordering station is all the way in the back and all the staff were just hanging out around there. Service was odd, the server did not come check on us and when we needed something we just went to the ordering station. Please note, when we went it was pretty much empty, so it was not busy at all. As mentioned not sure how it supposed to work here, but we did get our food fairly quick. The place is cute, lots of plants, looks like a very big space, believe it used to be a garage. Overall food was filling, able to share if needed, give it a try. Its definitely a nice addition to LIC.

We arrived at a great time as walk-ins, a little before 12PM. There were still a few seats available. Immediately after getting our seat, the restaurant became packed and a waiting list began to form--so I definitely recommend coming a bit earlier to ensure a seat. The interior is small, but cozy. I enjoyed the cups they served us, which had a cute Susuru design. The broth of the ramen was very flavorful. The ramen noodles were a bit on the thicker side than what I'm used to at other locations, which perfectly soaked up the broth. A great gem in a convenient location!

However, its tiny dining room often means long wait times and limited seating. The signature chicken paitan broth is slow-cooked for 8 hours to create a rich, creamy, and flavorful milky soup. Locals highly recommend the Kuro ramen (featuring rich black garlic oil) and the Deluxe ramen. They also serve a highly rated Veggie Miso. Appetizers shine here. The Garlic Edamame and Takoyaki are fan favorites, and the Chicken Karaage is a must-try. Authentic and cozy. The space is incredibly small with limited seating and does not offer outdoor dining. Expect long wait times for a table during peak dinner and weekend hours. This food place that offers delicious savory broth paired with springy, bouncy noodles is definitely worth a try.
