I guess I should've known better--once again. My review from 2023 still stands, and here I am in 2026 feeling just as disappointed. After my 2023 review, customer service reached out in an attempt to make things right and offered services I couldn't pass up: a free A/C inspection and a cash credit for future use. During that visit, the installer pointed out several "high-cost" items that supposedly wouldn't be covered under the free inspection, so the credit had to be used to address those issues. After that experience, I didn't look back or consider using Monarch Home Services again. That changed when I started receiving multiple text messages advertising a "free tune-up." Against my better judgment, I agreed and scheduled it for today, 1/23/2026. I even left work early to be home. Then I received a call saying they needed to reschedule because their installer ran into issues that would take all day. What a joke. Customer service seriously needs to do better, because years later this company is still delivering the same disappointing experience. At this point, the most consistent thing about Monarch Home Services is the disappointment--at least that never needs rescheduling. read more

So here it is 2026 and the sales guy told us that we would see a drastic change in our electric bill and he was absolutely right! This was the first time we ever had a true up bill. I was overjoyed. Not only that but we have had the air running all weekend and it's a wonderful 89 degrees inside the house. The air coming from the vents is 86 degrees! These people need to go out of business because they have quite literally destroyed my faith in anyone working on commission. Monarch is such a scam!! My parents fell for their okie doke and has to pay every time they come out!! My parents are elderly,got their warranty and still pay hundreds of dollars every time they step in!! They don't tell them what's wrong or if they do my parents still pay and it's like every season somethings wrong!! In the summer pay or bake, inthe winter pay or freez!! Was having issues with air flow and called them to come check out the system. They were able to fix a capacitor that was about to go out. Dominic and his associate were very attentive to our needs and showed us pictures of what was going out and after they fixed the problem. They were also able to come out the same day. Tried giving Monarch one last shot since we had one service left with them. Once again I'm left disappointed but glad I will no longer be doing business with them and have found a professional who isn't going to lie to get us to purchase/repair things that don't need repairing. Gavin was nice and friendly but I don't know how they train and their expectations of their employees but it seems as if they're expected to sell parts. I was quoted over $6500 in repairs. Mind you, monarch has been the only company to ever service my AC/Heating since we bought the house in 2016 brand new. Do not fall for these people and get a second opinion! Have been using the services for the last couple of years for my AC needs. I have been shopping around for AC services for the last 3-4 year in Visalia. IMO pretty pricey services and AC systems. However, in-person customer service is great. Over the phone customer service routinely scheduled wrong days/times for me. Unfortunately two of my units were not working well. Monarch replaced both my units. Salesman: Mario - personable, years of experience, great to work with, made sure my concerns were addressed. AC installers: Vida, Miguel, and Eric were a pleasure to have. Minimal damage to the house when installing the unit. Professional and got the work done. They were very personable and friendly TLDR: reliable but pricey. Wish the prices were much lower read more

I keep getting telemarketing from them despite having never used their services and my number being on the national do not call list. I have a very good local HVAC guy I've used for many years who regularly services my equipment. I was very satisfied with the service I received from Monarch starting with the inspection from Jesse to the technicians that did the service. We had duct cleaning, sanitizing and the triple seal done. The technicians Juan and Daniel were very professional and courteous. They answered all the questions I had and were very thorough. No Stars! I found another company that checked my AC and told me that Monarch drained 4 pounds of refrigerant from my AC! And the duct work they claim they did, was never done! Nothing has changed in my attic area and I have proof. Stay away from this company, they sent several different service techs and not one choose to do the right thing! read more

I should've read the reviews. They came out to do a service at my rental property and called a supervisor to try to tell me that my ducts were installed to code for California but not local needs since it's so hot in Bakersfield. They asked me if I had an hour to talk about the various repairs needed on my unit in order to optimize its performance. I then went on yelp and realized they always seem to want to replace ducts and charge thousands of dollars. Mind you my unit was functioning well and I just called for a service. I almost booked them for my other home but changed my mind. Something was off putting and based on the reviews it's not the first time this happens. Replacing a capacitor or motor would be cheaper than reducting my entire home. read more

Our system was diagnosed as having high static pressure. We recently replaced our attic furnace with a heat pump but did not replace the ducts. The Monarch team suggested larger ducts. They finished the job in one day and corrected design flaws in the existing system. Pressure was reduced and air flow improved. They agreed to eliminate several tasks that were not needed reducing the final cost. We are pleased with their work and recommend them to others. read more

This was a terrible and disheartening experience. I requested an estimate for a new air conditioner, that still worked but was struggling. After the "nicest young man" went in the attic, he told me that before he could actually look at the unit, I had a big problem because the airflow ducts were too small for the unit. I didn't have a reason to doubt him until his estimate was $50,000.00! So many red flags. I could write a novel on how many times he came up with another story. I'm glad I knew better. Today, another company said only a burnt wire on the unit needed replacing. Beware. read more

I called Monarch to have a tune up services for my airconditioning system and they sent their technician Jesse. He explained to me the proper maintenance of the unit and he seems very honest in his evaluation of the unit. He said that the airconditioning unit is still in great shape. We used this company because they were associated with Costco when we bought a new AC unit 4 years ago. Recently our blower motor stopped working. They told me it was because our ducts were too small and it would cost $10k for more duct work. When I told them I only wanted the blower motor replaced under factory warranty, they quoted $4k for labor. That is almost what we paid to install the entire unit. I posted a similar review elsewhere and got almost an immediate response through the platform. We STILL have not heard back from a SINGLE PERSON. The follow-up is SCARY non-existent. We DO NOT know if a pest control person came out and fixed the issue. We were told if it happens again, it is on US to pay for the repair. No one came out - so whose fault is it when the super schmoozy sales "supervisor" promised the pest control would come out on HIS dime, but no one ever came. They come to your house ensuring great customer service and from there it's downhill on all aspects. We've had TWO MAJOR installs with them and it's like after the big bad sales guy comes in and scares you into thinking you're poisoning your family with insulation, everyone after that completely ignores you. Somehow our monthly insurance subscription got cancelled, so we have no idea if we are still eligible for service because NO ONE WILL CALL US BACK. We've called literally dozens of times and every time we're ensured the same supervisor who sold us the system will call back. It's been 7 weeks. I'm gonna recommend you shop around before letting them work their sales, family friendly magic on you. 0/10 will return. I DO NOT recommend them anymore. read more

You would think at 83 years I would have learned enough to not make stupid mistakes. I guess loosing my AC, and the house 91 degrees stopped me from using my brain and ignoring all the red flag warnings. It was after repairs were done and I got a oral bill for $12,870 when I expected a $7600 bill I realized I made a mistake. The first red flag came from a neighbor who saw the Monarch truck at my house. He warned me to be careful as he had a friend that got over charged by them. I told him they had said it would be slightly over $7000. He said that seemed fair as he had a new condenser and coils (as I was having done) and it was $7000. The next red flag was business was being conducted with their office and was being recorded, but we later found was missing the portion with the price both my wife and I understood. Then there was the fact that I was sent a contract online to sign, That contract came to my email, but was from an individual (not a company) and had to be brought up by their service/sales person. I signed that contract which was for the $7600. Had I been smart I would have immediately made a copy, but was told I would get a hard copy when they came out. I never got that hard copy. When there was a dispute over the bill they said to produce the bill I signed, I again had a hard time, as the sales person found it and closed it out after I signed. I did finally find a message that I thought might be it. Sure enough it was , but it was not a copy of the contract, but rather a site addressed to Monarch . There was indeed a contract there, but the amount now read $12, 870. Since I foolishly failed to make a copy of that original contract I did not have proof to back it up. I decided to do the investigation I should have done before I called someone. I found several negative reviews of Monarch when they were doing the installation for Costco, who now no longer uses Monarch. After reading all the reviews I went to the BBB and found they have an "F" rating with them. With all the red flags and my failure to do "do diligence", I really paid too much. I also went online to check the average cost of a new condenser and coils installed . I was able to find the cost of each separately and it turned out that it should be $7-8,000 total. I am just hoping this review will keep someone from making the stupid mistakes I made. read more
