You would think at 83 years I would have learned enough to not make stupid mistakes. I guess loosing my AC, and the house 91 degrees stopped me from using my brain and ignoring all the red flag warnings. It was after repairs were done and I got a oral bill for $12,870 when I expected a $7600 bill I realized I made a mistake. The first red flag came from a neighbor who saw the Monarch truck at my house. He warned me to be careful as he had a friend that got over charged by them. I told him they had said it would be slightly over $7000. He said that seemed fair as he had a new condenser and coils (as I was having done) and it was $7000. The next red flag was business was being conducted with their office and was being recorded, but we later found was missing the portion with the price both my wife and I understood. Then there was the fact that I was sent a contract online to sign, That contract came to my email, but was from an individual (not a company) and had to be brought up by their service/sales person. I signed that contract which was for the $7600. Had I been smart I would have immediately made a copy, but was told I would get a hard copy when they came out. I never got that hard copy. When there was a dispute over the bill they said to produce the bill I signed, I again had a hard time, as the sales person found it and closed it out after I signed. I did finally find a message that I thought might be it. Sure enough it was , but it was not a copy of the contract, but rather a site addressed to Monarch . There was indeed a contract there, but the amount now read $12, 870. Since I foolishly failed to make a copy of that original contract I did not have proof to back it up. I decided to do the investigation I should have done before I called someone. I found several negative reviews of Monarch when they were doing the installation for Costco, who now no longer uses Monarch. After reading all the reviews I went to the BBB and found they have an "F" rating with them. With all the red flags and my failure to do "do diligence", I really paid too much. I also went online to check the average cost of a new condenser and coils installed . I was able to find the cost of each separately and it turned out that it should be $7-8,000 total. I am just hoping this review will keep someone from making the stupid mistakes I made. read more

We noticed our ac was not working right so I looked online and seen Monarch had good reviews. They came out and told us our duct was frozen and the part we needed they don't make anymore and it was going to cost $12,000 to $20,000. The guys name was Pete and Pete said he took pics of up in our attic My husband asked to see the pics that he took in the attic and he ignored my husband and he said he will show us when I got home from work. We had some other company come out and he said nothing was frozen up there and did some tests to our AC. He said something was leaking on the AC outside and added Freon. He said if something was frozen in the attic we would have had a mess. Fast forward to today we had a relative call Monarch for yearly maintenance on their AC. Nothing was wrong they just needed yearly maintenance. Guy goes and checks everything out and comes back and tells our relative that his ducting was frozen lol. They didn't even do anything that was asked by our relative. They just wanted to sell them a unit for $20,000. Moral of my story is these people are ripping ppl off!!!!! read more

Absolutely terrible. If I could give a negative star I would. This company only thinks about money and how to upsell useless things. Thank god I got a second opinion and saved over $15,000. I was told so many things were wrong with our AC that was not at all true. Oh, and the first tech that came wasn't even working on the right house at first which should've been my first clue that this company is absolutely terrible. Monarch came out to do a winter service on my hvac system. I was told that my house needed to be rewired. They charged me $25,000. The workers were on time and did an excellent job. My complaint is against Monarch. I have 10 electric outlets and one light switch that are not working. This is work that was just recently done. I have made multiple attempts to contact them to no avail. The company has an AI who has a reply to whatever I say. I have not been able to speak to a real person even though AI Dane has told me each time that I have called that someone would contact me. There isn't any phone number that you can call to talk to an actual person. I am very upset with Monarch. Just about every time they come out to my house there is something wrong but it's now costing me thousands of dollars instead of the original hundreds. I rarely have the same service tech. I am sorry that I ever bought anything from them. Since they were in CostCo I thought that they would be a good company to buy from. What a huge mistake. Save yourself money and grief by researching first all hvac companies. read more

Paid full price for the unit and since they installed it it has been shutting off every night in the winter and we have to go out and reset the breaker as well as not being able to shut any doors or vents in the entire place since when we do it overheats the system and trips the breaker. I had them out right after it was installed and they still said nothing about the warranty or free maintenance they offer which I am still in the warranty window. Since it was during Covid they never called or reached out to let me know about maintenance or upkeep they just left after installing it. I'm a service connected fully disabled veteran and I can't keep living like this. I helped this company during the pandemic and I paid in full in cash when other businesses were failing and when I had them come out last time they told me it's another 10k to fix it. I was shocked cause I could buy a new unit for that price so I asked the technician to call and see if they could do better for me and he actually laughed and said no then proceeded to tell me it's worth more now cause inflation but that's wrong cause in four years inflation has gone up 15% and it's equal to the value it would be now. This is so unacceptable and unacceptable to treat people this way. read more

Alex from Monarch came out to tell us why our thermostat quit working ( The thermostat had a lifetime warranty) Alex told me we needed a new thermostat, control board and capacitor and quoted us $2700.00 - What he was saying didn't make sense and there was a lot of pressure from Alex and his boss to order the parts immediately . Alex also mentioned that even after all of these repairs, he couldn't assure me that the AC would even work . I told them they were too high and I called Rudy's Air conditioning They came out the next morning, told me the only thing wrong was we needed a new thermostat and to have our AC unit cleaned- quoted us $450.00 and they had the parts on their truck- an hour later Rudys had our AC unit working perfectly- Shame on you Monarch- you are lying and gouging consumers and I hope you go out of business. Shout outs to the periodic maintenance offered by Monarch Home Services. Alexander Rutledge came promptly after calling to verify his visit. After arriving, Alex made sure to address any concerns regarding the cooling units and the insulation. Soon thereafter, Alex got to work and did a very thorough job as he quickly discovered what was impeding adequate delivery of air through the entire house. After making adjustments to one of the cooling units outside, we were given the opportunity to sign off on a future service to have a part replaced on one of the cooling units, which requires attention. Alex was very friendly an polite from the time he arrived until departure. Monarch came through once again with the attention to detail that is a hallmark of the services they offer. Stay away from this company! They sold us an hvac unit and upgraded the return. Then the next time they came out for service, they said the return wasn't large enough and we needed new ductwork, which they would have known the first time they were out as it is the original ductwork. Now when we call for maintenance, they cancel on us the same day with no availability for over a month. read more

Monarch Home Services started out to be a good company back in 2021, My Daughter had an AC unit put in and all went well so when mine went out I called them. They came out and installed the unit and have had numerous problems. I would call them to come out but time and time again they started pushing off my appointments, pushing them out by two to three weeks and saying that they did not have the service people to come out. So we would sit in the heat or cold until they showed up. Some of the service people they have are awesome. The office and shop people I have talked to are of no help at all and very arrogant. We have since switched companies. We also have 2 years left on our service contract and when asked to cancel contract and get a refund we were told that they will not do that. So I guess the better business bureau is my next stop. I would not recommend them at this point and get a second opinion on any work to be done on your unit. read more

Monarch Home Services rips you off. Our air was working fine, but we had Monarhchdo our yearly check up. They informed us our fan, coils ad ducts needed to be cleaned and some ducts were cracked and glue needed to sprayed through the ducts. Two days later our AC quit working. Monarch charged us 6K for the job. We had three companies come to give us bids on a new AC system and I asked what the charge would be for what Monarch did. Their prices ranged from 1K to 2K. They have a great salesman, do not believe a word they say. read more

Josh arrived for my AC's winter maintenance schedule. He acted professionally and answered questions and concerns that I experienced with our AC a month or so ago. I am satisfied with Josh's customer support. The last time Monarch serviced my AC I never heard back from the supervisor who was supposed to check on the work that was performed. I was really disappointed. I waited for hours as promised but the supervisor never came. I called the next morning and I was told he was sent to another job-site. At least he or his Manager or Support team would have called to inform me that there was a change in plan. Very unprofessional. I hope they have more professional technicians like Josh. read more

They are horrible!! I had an appointment today 6/20 and it's 2:30pm they still haven't shower up. I called them at they said they would get back to me. They called me back and said that their technician is tied up on another job and won't be able to come today. Same BS all the time! Please stay away from this company!! Imagine getting an AC installed after your old unit of 26 years, never had an issue, but needed replaced due to age. You pay for a service, they install, warranties for three years, and then you have a MAJOR issue. Leaking, overflowing pan, damage to your home, hottest week of the year. Then imagine calling for three days straight, never getting anyone to call you back, never getting a single person that gives a damn that their faulty install is damaging your home AND causing your family to suffer in 110 degree weather. That's what this company is. Their customer service is absolutely terrible. They don't care. I've talked to Employees who literally transferred me to their answering service rather than helping. This company is awful and should be avoided at all costs. If this is your experience as well, file a complaint to Costco as well since they contract through them as well. Great Hvac Co. The Tech assessed my unit it had very high static air! After analyzing all the areas of ductwork and air output the cfm's required did not meet standards. My unit also had a bad winding motor on the brink., maintenance required on wheel assembly and other areas! He called upon his Supervisor to assess the deeper issues and we made a decision. Improve our ductwork sizing, and install a bigger air register along with motor and all required maintenance! Monarch called me to see if I wanted a Free service of my furnace. They scheduled quickly and arrived the following day from 8-noon. I let their office know I was available but had to leave by 12:30. The technician arrived about noon. He tested my heating system and claimed it had an issue. The tech then called his supervisor who came out to check it as well. The supervisor called me later and said the unit is working hard and had scorch marks on the circuit board. I told him I would possibly be considering a new HE model later this year. He said he would like to meet or contact me to go over the issue with the current furnace later that day. It has been a week and no call. I checked my filter when I arrived at home and to my surprise, it was clogged. Since I never received a document on the service, I have no idea if they checked it without the filter which could have been the source of the issue. Long story short...as a service business, always do what you say! I don't think they serviced my furnace, but were there mainly to try and sell me a new one. read more
