I live in Stockton and my co-worker lives in Pittsburg. We were looking for a good place to meet for lunch and decided to try this place. We had both heard good things about the food. We arrived on a Saturday around 11a. There was a twenty minute wait for a group of 3 so we decided to wait outside on the patio, which was beautiful. The restaurant is right on the river and there was a nice breeze. Their parking lot is not very big so it was a little difficult to find parking. We were seated right at the twenty minute mark. Our waiter was not very engaging and seemed to be a little overwhelmed although the restaurant wasn't very full. It took him a while to even check in with us. The menu has many options to choose from. I opted for the bacon waffle and a side of breakfast potatoes. The waffle was good but the potatoes were bland. Overall the experience was okay. I've been here several times over many Years. It's getting worse and worse. The basic burgers are now $30, and are out done by any local food chain for half the price. The server kept forgetting my requests. The bathroom sink was broken and it's one of those faucets that you have to hold down, but only a trickle comes out. Like how hard is it to call a plumber. My food was okay. I ordered THE VEGAN it came hot my there was no seasoning on the sautéed veggies. I came here on Thursday around 12pm, and the host directed me to the bar, because it was just me. The service from the bartender was horrible. Maybe they should have more than one bartender because making drinks and trying to serve is not her strong suit. She asked me if I wanted to a drink and I asked for a water and it's 10 minutes to get it. Some girls came in next to me like 5 of them and they had to walk to the bar just to grab menus. I treated a good friend for an early birthday brunch. We went to Monica's, at her suggestion. She had a lot of great things to say about the food and mimosas. Today was my 1st time. Food/drinks= B I ordered the combo plate: includes 2 eggs ( I ordered them scrambled), apple sausage, and french toast (other options are pancake or waffle). The food was delicious and I enjoyed every bite! I honestly don't have any complaints or critiques. My friend and I ordered the bottomless mimosa (I find strange there's a per person charge of $25, instead of a flat charge...but, okay LOL). We had a choice of four flavors, we decided on: mango, guava, pineapple, and peach. Guava and mango were my absolute favorites. Service=D This restaurant needs to work on their service. I'm very easy going, and there's just some things I lack tolerance and patience for. The restaurant was very busy, which is fine. But, I rarely saw our server. They clearly need staff because they seemed to be spread thin serving multiple tables. I will say our server was a really nice guy though! Second, I'm not sure why our server felt the need to tell us we can't share a mimosa that I paid for. (My friend brought her cousin along, and wanted a sip of her mimosa..but, the cousin wanted to eat before drinking so she asked for a small sip). Server saw my friend's cousin with the glass and told her the before mentioned and that they actually checked the cameras. Huh? Is this an actual rule? Are you putting us to jail for sharing a mimosa with someone at our table that is over 21 years of age? Is the restaurant going to blow up into smitereens? What is the issue?!?! Honestly, GTFOH with that nonsense! That really irritated me! I never been to any restaurant that says some wild stuff like that before. Instant vibe killer! Third, I couldn't hear any music on the side of the restaurant we were sitting at. Apparently, we were on the unlively side of the restaurant. There was more fun commotion and loud music coming from the bar side of the restaurant. Instantly regret not asking to move to a table on that side! I came back to Monica's Riverview due to Michelle Lambert performing there (my excuse to come all from Hercules to drive in a 45-50min traffic on Highway 4). The ambiance inside is unique. I get a great view of the water while I am dining inside, enjoying my Portobello Mushroom Ravioli. My Portobello Mushroom Ravioli was fantastic. I tried to eat very slowly because I was trying to enjoy the music performance, but I failed miserably. I did enjoy the slice Portobello Mushroom because I took a bite of the Ravioli. The service at Monica's is fantastic! She was very amazing, which is funny because she is the same server that served me when I first tried out Monica's (deja vu). My northern California long distance friends (1 lives in sac and 1 lives somewhere farther away from me in San Francisco) and I were looking for a midway meeting point to have brunch so we came across this place in Antioch. We did a very brief google search for brunch places in Antioch and this place seemed promising because of the extensive menu. Monica's definitely exceeded expectations! It's pretty close to the BART stop so it was easy to coordinate pick up/drop off. There's also plenty of parking which is a plus. I think we got there a little before 11 and were seated right away. I started with an iced honey lavender latte. It wasn't bad but I wish it had a stronger lavender flavor. Food: I got the bacon waffle. When the waffle first came out, I briefly wondered where the bacon was but then finically realized that it's cooked into the waffle! The waffle was delicious and definitely satisfied my sweet and savory craving. It's on the price end at close to $20 but in this economy that's not surprising at all. The only downside was that the service would get randomly slow at times but the food came surprisingly fast once we were able to order. We visited mid week though being the second week in December there were what appears to be a couple of large parties, possibly office Christmas parties going in the back. Time for food was extremely long and then it came out cold. I ordered the Breakfast Platter with sausage patties (very peculiar taste) took those home to my dog. Monica's Riverview is a gem and family favorite, especially for a weekend brunch. We've been to Monica's a few times, bringing various family and friends. Monica's has never disappointed. Monica's is on the water with a great view of the delta. They have a nice bar area inside and even a drink area out front. Sometimes they have live music else they have various sports games going on the TV. Service is quick and friendly. There can be a wait if you come later in the day for brunch so get there early. They are their own parking lot but there is a free lot just outside a few years away if they get too busy. My go to favorite is the Lemon ricotta pancakes or Chicken fried steak. The portions are good so my spouse and I like will tend to split the 2, that we have a sweet and savory mix without having to take home leftovers. They will make the pancakes into a combo with bacon and eggs but we end up taking home almost a full meal worth of food to go. They do have bottomless mimosas with multiple juice options, and they make a delicious latte (lavender and toasted marshmallow are excellent)! Monica's is definitely worth a visit l. read more

Went here for the first time for my husband's birthday, chose it for the water view and the food pics I was seeing on social media. It was an amazing lunch, there was live music and we sat outside where the view and weather was perfect and no flies lol!! I ordered that massive taco which was delicious added chicken and shrimp omg those jumbo prawns were delish! Hubs got the Philly cheese steak and ate every single bite and said it was delicious and the garlic flies were amazing! I got a couple of the mangoRita (I think) which I could actually taste and feel the alcohol which is good bc most places always jip on the alcohol. Over all 10/10 and we will definitely be back. Only thing was and I won't doc for it, but our waiter was a lil dry.. just a little anti social and just didn't have too much of a welcoming personality, but that's ok bc you never know what kind of day someone is having or if they are stressed etc. So I won't judge that. Received our drinks quickly and our food after only a short wait given how busy the place was. We got: Mexican omelet w loaded potatoes - 4/5 but potatoes not worth the extra $6. I previously wrote a poor review based on my interaction with the band that they hired, but now that I've had time to reflect and decompress, I wanted to give an honest review for the restaurant, not the band. We had reservations and were seated within a few minutes and handed the menus. The menu is a little limited. The restaurant itself is very spacious and decor was nice. We got a booth for 6 and ordered drinks. The food took a while to get to us. We ordered the chicharones and garlic fries as an appetizer. The fries were soggy and chicharones were not chicharones. They taste and look like chicken breast breaded and deep fried with a buffalo sauce. Everyone agreed no one wanted it so the waitress offered to bring it back. Fries were soggy and covered in lots of oil. I also ordered salmon with salad and Yukon potatoes. They gave us mac and cheese accidentally, but eventually brought out the potatoes. The salmon was dry and had no flavor. The drinks were really good though, so shout out to the bartender. -- Since I prefaced the band, we went there for Native Elements, which I guess canceled as we found out the last minute, so there was another band. The reason I was so upset was because I made a song request and the band member was very rude and told me absolutely not & it came off condescending and racist since I requested songs by/for people of color. She was always moving from table to table taking care of customers. The view from our table overlooked the delta. Filet Oscar - 5/5 The filet was cooked as ordered. It was very tender and flavorful with the sauce. There was a single large shrimp that was fillet as a edible decorative topping. The crab meat was plentiful and delicious. The veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly and the asparagus nice and tender . If this item is still on the menu later in the year, i would order it again. Primavera Fettuccine - 5/5 This seafood pasta dish was a great selection. The sauce was creamy and rich with a hint of wine. The Fettuccine was al Dante, not over cooked and mushy. There were abundant of seafood such as shrimp, fish and scallops. All were not dry and very tender and delicious. This was a very tasty and delicious dish. It is worth reordering the next time we come back to dine at Monica's Riverview if it is still on the menu. The service was good. Our waitress refilled our beverages constantly. I went to Monica's for a late lunch (2:30). This was my second visit. I was seated right away at a window booth (place wasn't busy). I ordered the Roasted Turkey Club Sandwich with Garlic Fries ($24.95). It was very good! The Aioli sauce definitely made the sandwich. The garlic fries were perfectly cooked. They were crispy and delicious. The service was good, too. I originally ordered regular fries, but changed it to garlic fries about 10 minutes later. No issues changing the order. My soda got low, but another server noticed and filled it. Since it was day time, I had great views of the Delta and the the Antioch Bridge. The reason I chose to go to Monica's was because they have baked goods: cupcakes, cookies, lemon bars, etc. I was quite bummed that they only had 2 chocolate cupcakes left.
