My first time here. Went on Yelp to find a place to eat breakfast. I read the reviews which were good. It's by the water yeah we a good view of the waterfront. Let me start with prices, way too high. I ordered the chile relleno it came with 2 eggs, hash browns and choice of toast I chose the rye. The hash browns were too soft I felt like I was eating mash potatoes and it wasn't crispy on the outside. We waited 30 minutes to be served. First time and last time for this place. I previously wrote a poor review based on my interaction with the band that they hired, but now that I've had time to reflect and decompress, I wanted to give an honest review for the restaurant, not the band. We had reservations and were seated within a few minutes and handed the menus. The menu is a little limited. The restaurant itself is very spacious and decor was nice. We got a booth for 6 and ordered drinks. The food took a while to get to us. We ordered the chicharones and garlic fries as an appetizer. The fries were soggy and chicharones were not chicharones. They taste and look like chicken breast breaded and deep fried with a buffalo sauce. Everyone agreed no one wanted it so the waitress offered to bring it back. Fries were soggy and covered in lots of oil. I also ordered salmon with salad and Yukon potatoes. They gave us mac and cheese accidentally, but eventually brought out the potatoes. The salmon was dry and had no flavor. The drinks were really good though, so shout out to the bartender. -- Since I prefaced the band, we went there for Native Elements, which I guess canceled as we found out the last minute, so there was another band. The reason I was so upset was because I made a song request and the band member was very rude and told me absolutely not & it came off condescending and racist since I requested songs by/for people of color. Went for Easter lunch. Sat at 1:15. Ordered at 1:30. Table next to us ordered after us. At 2:20 we hadn't seen our server at all but the table next to us (8 people) was done eating. I flagged down another server and questioned about how much longer? She stated they are short handed and it's a holiday. My grandson then pointed out another table that arrived after us was eating. At 2:45 our food arrived. I went to servers station and got us napkins, walked to three tables and found a partial full catsup bottle and sat down. I saw our server, got up and asked for water. He brought water with no ice and never offered re-fills on soft drinks. Food all around was horrible! My husband was fuming. I am previously a very well known restaurant owner and he is currently silent partner of three. I also watched other guests getting their own napkins and looking for help. We never saw our server after ordering except when I chased him down. Hands down worst experience ever and my first yelp ever. Will never return. read more

Monica's is such a great brunch spot! It's right along the water which makes for a great view while enjoying your food!! There's something for everyone here. I came with 3 other people and there was a huge mixture between breakfast and lunch plates. That made it all the more fun. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking to find a place to eat for lunch with our pup. We thought of Monica's since they have outdoor seating. We got there around 1130 and were seated right away. They invited us to sit in the bar area with our dog. I was surprised since this was inside, but we loved the option. The food was great. Just went in for a late lunch. We were seated very quickly and the waitress took our order. Took over 15 minutes to receive our cokes and waited for 40 minutes and our food still hadn't come out. We finally flagged our waitress asking about the food and that we were not longer interested in waiting and just wanted to pay for our cokes. We didn't order anything crazy. Just a few sandwiches. She was always moving from table to table taking care of customers. The view from our table overlooked the delta. Filet Oscar - 5/5 The filet was cooked as ordered. It was very tender and flavorful with the sauce. There was a single large shrimp that was fillet as a edible decorative topping. The crab meat was plentiful and delicious. The veggies were fresh and cooked perfectly and the asparagus nice and tender . If this item is still on the menu later in the year, i would order it again. Primavera Fettuccine - 5/5 This seafood pasta dish was a great selection. The sauce was creamy and rich with a hint of wine. The Fettuccine was al Dante, not over cooked and mushy. There were abundant of seafood such as shrimp, fish and scallops. All were not dry and very tender and delicious. This was a very tasty and delicious dish. It is worth reordering the next time we come back to dine at Monica's Riverview if it is still on the menu. The service was good. Our waitress refilled our beverages constantly. Well. What can I say. After 3 (?) years of wasting my time mentioning what they need to do to improve...someone paid attention. 10:00 am. Breakfast. The service was pretty darn good. The young lady that greeted me...she had me with her smile! Seated quickly. Server came out and asked what wanted to drink. Bloody Mary please. Took about 5 minutes. Now she takes my order. My $13.99 breakfast, is now 20 bucks, Breakfast Burrito. The conspiracy theorist in me says it was planned. The cheapest thing on the menu...let's be out of it. Ok, let's get back on track. I went to Monica's for a late lunch (2:30). This was my second visit. I was seated right away at a window booth (place wasn't busy). I ordered the Roasted Turkey Club Sandwich with Garlic Fries ($24.95). It was very good! The Aioli sauce definitely made the sandwich. The garlic fries were perfectly cooked. They were crispy and delicious. The service was good, too. I originally ordered regular fries, but changed it to garlic fries about 10 minutes later. No issues changing the order. My soda got low, but another server noticed and filled it. Since it was day time, I had great views of the Delta and the the Antioch Bridge. The reason I chose to go to Monica's was because they have baked goods: cupcakes, cookies, lemon bars, etc. I was quite bummed that they only had 2 chocolate cupcakes left. Came here over the weekend for brunch with family for my birthday and had a great time. They don't take reservations for brunch so the wait was about 40 min. It was raining and since they don't have much room inside to wait, we waited in our car. Once we were seated the wait staff was great, you can tell they are all very busy during brunch. There is a cute bar area that is a decent size. They have outdoor seating for nice summer days. We sat inside near the window. They have everything you can think of from coffee, tea, to specialty drinks for brunch. The vibe is fun, they play good music. They gave me a birthday shot of tequilla which was a nice addition. We started with mimosas then I had a pineapple martini. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food and drinks. It was all very filling. I had the churro waffle which I loved! I've been here several times over many Years. It's getting worse and worse. The basic burgers are now $30, and are out done by any local food chain for half the price. The server kept forgetting my requests. The bathroom sink was broken and it's one of those faucets that you have to hold down, but only a trickle comes out. Like how hard is it to call a plumber. SERVICE: 6/5 our server was amazing and went above and beyond - I believe his name was Giovanni. Attentive, brought a birthday cupcake for one of our friends and got the entire bar area to sing her happy birthday. Took our group photo and jumped in on one too! Such a great experience. AMBIENCE: we were a table of 7 and sat in the bar area. It got LOUD with music playing and people talking. We sat by the window and enjoyed the beautiful views of the water, but be warned that it does get warm sitting there with the sun out! FOOD: my friend and I split the veggie Benedict and the banana waffle. The Benedict was so delicious and the hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy. We ordered it with scrambled eggs based on personal preference and the eggs were a nice, soft scramble. The waffle was HUGE! Went here for the first time for my husband's birthday, chose it for the water view and the food pics I was seeing on social media. It was an amazing lunch, there was live music and we sat outside where the view and weather was perfect and no flies lol!! I ordered that massive taco which was delicious added chicken and shrimp omg those jumbo prawns were delish! Hubs got the Philly cheese steak and ate every single bite and said it was delicious and the garlic flies were amazing! I got a couple of the mangoRita (I think) which I could actually taste and feel the alcohol which is good bc most places always jip on the alcohol. Over all 10/10 and we will definitely be back. Only thing was and I won't doc for it, but our waiter was a lil dry.. just a little anti social and just didn't have too much of a welcoming personality, but that's ok bc you never know what kind of day someone is having or if they are stressed etc. So I won't judge that. First time here at Monica's Riverview. I love love that there is plenty of parking because I hate looking for parking. Food: it was good I enjoyed my bacon waffles and I ordered eggs on the side. My friend ordered the Vegan with grilled vegetables and she added a impossible patty! I had some of it and it was delish!!! It was seasoned well! My niece had the Western Burger, that thing was giant! Looked so good. It was my nieces birthday so some of the ladies had bottomless mimosa which I thought was a good price $25 for two hours! Service: 5 stars for the service. Yasmin was our server. She was so friendly and so much fun. She took out order right away and we got our food within minutes. Ambiance: its beautiful. You can see the river from where we sat. There is outside dining with warmers and fire pit. We would've love to sit outside but it was cold. This place is so much fun. Time for food was extremely long and then it came out cold. I ordered the Breakfast Platter with sausage patties (very peculiar taste) took those home to my dog. The Bacon waffle, was nothing special. You couldn't taste the bacon throughout the waffle. The eggs were good but nothing special. I also had a glass of OJ and a lemon bar. Total with tax and tip was $73. I have never paid that for a breakfast! I've heard that Monica's wasn't good anymore but wanted to give it 1 more try and they for surely disappointed! Been to other places to have bartenders dedicated to mimosas are constantly walking around. We have an empty glass because they are under staffed today. But that's not our fault and they should offer a discount. The refill came out with a bug in it. Smh then the replacement drink isn't cold. Then on top of that, from a health & safety concern there is a ceiling damage with a table near it. Then there are gaps between the lights. There were flies and nats near the rear door. My food was fantabulous. I ordered the scramble and it was seasoned well and a nice sized portion and was thoroughly pleased with all of it. My wife had a shrimp and crab omelette and she enjoyed that. My daughter had the surf and turf breakfast, a said the shrimp was good, however, complained about the steak being too fatty. That was her only complaint. The baby had chicken apple sausage, eggs, and pancakes. Her pancakes were delicious and the chicken apple sausage was decent. The service was excellent and the Hawaiian mimosa was great. It was a pretty loud place, but there was a live band and we were there just after 11 on a Saturday morning, so that was to be expected. For context, my party was an 11 person walk in on a Friday evening while two separate large parties were happening indoors. Of the 11 people, one was my 100 year old great-grandmother with soft teeth and three others arrived about 30 min late. In short, we were far from an easy group. Our waitress, Vanessa, is an absolute gem of customer service skills. She went above and beyond to accommodate us. She helped hunt down soup for our centurion, moved tables so we wouldn't be in the sun very much, remained respectful and patient though it all. It was our first time here and we loved it! Definitely a new regular brunch spot! Get here early to avoid waiting- like 9:00 is the sweet spot! It's not as outrageously expensive as people say, and the bottomless mimosas are actually full bottles that get left at your table so you're not waiting for a waiter or waitress to refill you constantly. Osmada was our waitresses and she was great! She checked in on us regularly and made sure we got our order in before all the big groups! The only reason I dropped a star was because of the bathroom. The bathroom needs better cars. We got here at 9 (an hour after they opened) and the toilet paper was empty in one of the stalls and the paper towels were already low (the light was blinking). Needless to say, I went potty before we left closer to 12, and the stall was still out of TP and the paper towels were completely out at that point. We checked out Monica's Riverview for breakfast recently & it was my first time eating there. It has a really nice & peaceful view of the water, & although it was too cold to sit outside, we still got a window seat where we could admire it! We got there around 9 am & it surprisingly wasn't packed yet. We got a table for 3 right away without a reservation. I ordered The Vegan, which consisted of homestyle potatoes, grilled veggies like mushrooms, eggplant, & zucchini, & avocado. The veggies had really great flavor, though they were all big pieces so I had to cut them, including the slabs of potatoes, to be able to eat it. Just added some hot sauce & it was perfect! My cousin ordered the Big A$$ French Toast, & our jaws dropped at the size of it! It had to be a half a loaf of bread. He said it would delicious & somehow managed to eat it all. I was shocked lol We also got mimosas & a Prosecco, & they offered several juices to mix in like blood orange, pineapple, guava, mango, pomegranate, & grapefruit. Originally the plan was to go get a chai latte at the Chill, however it seems like they are always closed... been saying that since I was on a time frame, I remember Monica's had a bakery. Although you can seat in there and have your latte and pastries, for me it works to grab and go! I was helped by Violet , she is nice she recommended the pies and cookies. I purchased cookies and a latte , the cookies were still warm and fresh, I was there at 8:45am. The bakery is very pretty, farmer style. We had our gender reveal at the banquet room at Monica's and it was more than we imagined. The help was great. Everything was clean and organized for our event. They're very flexible when it comes to decorations, and the food was amazing. Got a lot of compliments from my family and friends Very flavorful and plenty definitely would host another party here again. We had a bartender in our banquet room and he was very attentive and made the drinks very well as well from what I've heard from my guests! Jorge is the food manager, and prior to the event. We met up with him and had us try the different food that they would be offering, and if they needed to add more salt, no salt cooked longer or less and gave us a different options of appetizers we wanted to have at our party. I went to Monica's website and the menu items sounded perfect. I didn't give it a thought that the menu had no Pricing being our inflation state these days. There was no window seating available but at least we didn't have to wait for a table. Once seated I glanced over the menu. Now I know why no pricing was on the website. $27 for a basic two egg, hash brown and choice of protein breakfast? Steak and eggs $45. Are you kidding me? Turned over the menu for the lunch selections, again $28 for a basic burger. The view wasn't worth these prices. We ordered the Cali omelette. There was nothing special about the meal at all. The portions were regular size servings. I would only give this location 2 stars because you don't get what you pay for but since our server was very attentive I bumped the rating to 3 stars I don't think I'll be visiting this location again. read more
