Went to Monster on a cold cold night and had the House Soup, it was terrific and warmed us right up. The Spicy Tuna Tartare appetizer is delicious and definitely enough for two people. We then split a Magic Roll (no rice) and were fortified and ready to go back into the cold. Food is delicious and the restaurant has fun Godzilla monster-themed decor. Food is good and the people are very nice but both times I've been there, the service was TERRIBLY SLOW...... We noticed there were many "to go" orders being made for pickups. They should focus on the people IN the restaurant first. Will probably not return. read more

5 start for food and 5 star for service ! Best sushi in town ! Was craving sushi and a friend recommended monster. I got the poke with the chips and it was delicious ! I love salmon and ordered the spicy girl roll and it is now my favorite roll. The service was great as well! Very friendly when we entered and attentive through out our dining experience . read more

I've gone twice during lunch, both times letting them know I was in a rush because I was on my lunch break. Both times it took over 30 minutes to receive my food when it was just a simple roll. The sushi here is delish! Very fresh... And lots of unique rolls to choose from. My favorite is the shrimp tempura and the salmon sushi. Very clean and cute decor. My only complaint is that I didn't see many tasty drinks, but not sure if there was a separate drink menu that I just didn't see. Best sushi in Morristown hands down! I haven't been able to find a place I love until I found monster. I actually went to the one in summit years ago and remembered how good it was and the mo town location lives up to the same rep. Prices are VERY reasonable - so much overpriced sushi downtown Motown but not here. Bring your own is def a perk too! The yellowtail special roll is truly special! Staff is super friendly and they also have a cute outdoor section for the summer. This has become our go to sushi spot. I highly recommend! read more

I hate to write bad reviews. I really do. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. But my experience at Monster Sushi was one of the worst I have had. My husband and I walked in on a Friday night and waited quite a bit at the hostess stand before anyone acknowledged us. I believe only 2 people total were working tables and seating. Restaurant was reasonably crowded but had open seats. We were finally seated and again had to wait to have water brought to us. I could see the sushi backed up at the sushi bar so I knew we were going to have to wait a while. The wait staff would disappear to the back for extended periods of time. After about 10 minutes we were served water and we asked if we could place our order before she walked away. After orders were placed our salads came quickly but they were thrown together and the dressing was minimal and tasteless. Our entrees took a while. What was most distressing was that my husbands food was brought out almost 20 minutes before mine. He waited for about 5 minutes when I told him to eat before his food got cold. Thank goodness he did. He was almost finished when I flagged down the waitress to ask about my food. She looked over at the bar (at the very long line of sushi waiting to be picked up) and said it was ready. I asked if she would like to bring me my food so I could actually eat dinner with my husband. Food was brought over and thrown down on the table. Sushi order was wrong. Rolls were too large to eat in one bite and just fell apart and didn't taste well too boot but after waiting so long and being very hungry I just ate it didn't send it back. Finally got the check and left. We won't ever be back. Cannot believe they can stay in business if they operate this way. Hire more help or just shut down. Awful. read more

This is the best Sushi place of all time! The food was delivered very quickly and the staff created such a welcoming and cheerful atmosphere - I've been to the Monster Sushi in New York and now I'm so excited that they've opened up shop in a much more accessible location. My absolute favorite the Monster Roll and the dessert menu is fantastic! Everything my entire family ordered was so delicious! Ordered from here last night. In the children's hospital with my daughter. The food came earlier than expected (I ordered late). The delivery person went to the main hospital because there is no address for the children's hospital. They called and drove over to where I was. Nicest, friendliest delivery person I ever had. Went here 2 weeks ago before a show in town. We eat sushi all the time, and my wife did not feel the fish here was fresh. We ordered an assortment of things while sitting at the sushi bar, and we did not really enjoy the meal at all. We will not be back. read more

We ordered delivery and the total came out to be about $70 for 5 rolls and 2 salads. Overall, the quality of the sushi was VERY good and fresh. The delivery wait wasn't too long and the online interface to order the food was user-friendly. it's ok. the staff is friendly, and the fish seems fresh, but there was nothing that stood out as making it extraordinary. i had a tuna roll, yellow tail roll, and an alaska roll. again, it wasn't bad, just missing that extra sparkle to give it 4 stars. i also had the green tea ice cream, which was good and not freezer-burned like in some places. read more

This place is great. The Japanese Pizza is very original and delicious. The place is small but adequate. The staff was attentive and tries to explain the non-sushi parts of the menu. It is BYOB (like most places in Morristown), however there is a local wine store that delivers. The sushi is always fresh and I have never been disappointed. Ordered sushi take out last night and most of it was really good! But we had ordered a spider roll and the soft shelled crab was absolutely burnt black! I'm sure the sushi chef was totally aware of this when he assembled the roll, but decided to pack it up in our take out order anyway. Had we been eating in the restaurant, he either would not have served it at all or we definitely would have sent it back because it was inedible. A little sad that the chef tried to put one over on us. Next time we need to inspect everything in our take out order before we leave the restaurant- or just order from another sushi restaurant that we can trust. read more

First time trying out this Monster Sushi location. Convenient location, street parking. Not many customers on a late Sat afternoon. Service was OK, not v friendly & our server never smiled. We ordered appetizers, yosenabe entree, & sushi rolls. I have to say I was disappointed with the yosenabe as I expected authentic udon noodles - instead it looked like thin rice noodles. Still, it was flavorful, & they have an interesting choice of different sushi rolls on the menu. I'd probably try them again & hope for better service. Price came to $80-ish for 2 ppl, lunch menu. By far my favorite place to go for sushi in Morristown! Staff is always so friendly and accommodating. There's so many sushi rolls that I would recommend, but my top picks would have to be the Unbelievable roll, World Series roll, and the Creature roll. If you're not into sushi, they've also got really good bento boxes. I was pleased with both their tonkatsu and tuna steak bento boxes. Their appetizers are great as well. I usually get either the gyoza, pork shumai, edamame, or tuna tataki (also try the Japanese Pizza!). If you come on a nice sunny day, definitely sit in their outdoor seating. I was REALLY unhappy when they left Summit NJ and tried another place that was recommended to me. YUCK, but that's another review. Then one day, I drove down Pine St and right across from the Dublin Pub was my old friend. I stopped in for a late lunch and everything was as great as it was in Summit. The fish in the sashimi deluxe was fresh, firm & delicious. The soup & salad were good. Even the table water was crystal clear (filtered ??). I was pleased to see Monster Sushi open here in Morristown. My son and I ordered one of the larger "boat" type platters. It was amazing! The pieces were large and fresh and melted in our mouths. We lived in Morristown some years ago. On a visit back last Thursday (8/13), we stumbled upon Monster Sushi. We have eaten at their NYC location many times and were excited to see that they opened one in Morristown (closer to home)! Of course, we had to stop in. The staff here is very friendly and customer service seems to be their priority. The restaurant has a very homey feel and is very comfortable. The sushi here is some of the freshest you'll find. I recommend the delicious Unbelievable roll. Also, if you're not totally into sushi, there is something for everyone! They also have bento boxes which include an entree of your choice and also, dumplings, rice and sushi. But I prefer especially their Udon soup. This is a generous bowl of soup with lots of fresh vegetables and big shrimps. Delicious! Prices are reasonable; so good value for your $. P.S. We just LOVED the painting of the Monster Sushi fish next to the sushi bar. read more
