Tried to order sashimi and they were out of a lot of my choices. Ended up with a few options and they were really fresh and large portions. Also have GF soy sauce.

I ordered take out on a frigid Thursday evening and the place was packed. I opted for the Chicken Teriyaki. The portion size was good and liked the small miso soup and rice that came with it. The chicken was a little on the fatty side but the sauce was good. I really liked the veggies that came with the meal. Overall, the food was about what I expected.

The best thing about this place was that we didn't feel rushed to leave. The food was great too!

Ordered monster sushi for takeout. I got the house salad with ginger dressing, the chicken skewers and the Morristown roll. The salad was a decent portion but I wasn't impressed with the ginger dressing. Super oily with just carrot chunks. I prefer a creamier more cohesive dressing so wouldn't get that again. The chicken skewers were perfect for a little extra protein and cooked well. The Morristown roll was delicious! Good portion too. I would def get again but my only critique is the pieces were cut sooo thick that it was really not pleasant to try and eat in one bite.

Will return because food is great. Service was odd, like as if they're understaffed. We were told to choose any table for two. We chose the one right behind the hostess station. I loved sitting right next to the smaller of two fish tanks. But, next time I visit, I will choose a table away from the path from the front door to the kitchen. Ladies room was unacceptable. Garbage can is broken so everyone piles their discarded paper towels in a mountain above the garbage can. Toilet seat was sticky. Floor looked like they only clean the center. I hope this is a temporary situation due to understaffing. Restaurant is very popular because the food is great. Not the most relaxing experience, though.

I used to live not too far from this area about a decade or so ago so I'm familiar with this establishment. I had to come back for a work trip and realized it was in walking distance from our hotel. They have not changed in quality and the pricing is very fair. The menu is overwhelmingly long but the fun names take the edge off having to pick 3 out of the 50 or so combinations. We ended up ordering wayyyyy too much. The food comes out quickly so I'd suggest ordering a few before going ham since sushi isn't something you can really save for later. As most places in the area, it's BYOB. A lot of togo orders were flying out the door. The godzilla decor is hilarious. Parking sucks in the area so I was so happy we were able to walk this. Service was great. This isn't your "authentic" sushi joint - it's fusion with a signature amount of roll varieties that makes it a fun joint for when you want a ton of flavor while eating a bit healthier.

Visited here for a takeout pick up order for the first time during a weeknight. I enjoyed it very much that the following day I did another pick up order to take to the airport. I would definitely come back here again however please keep in mind parking in this area is very very scarce. Much easier to do curbside pick up also again if you can find a curb to place your car. That is my only drawback about this entire location. The menu is very innovative very broad and has some thing for everybody. There is a huge variety of cooked and uncooked as well as multi layered maki rolls that are just super fun. I would definitely come back here again when I am in town.

Great visit at the Monster. A frequent weekend stop for us, we dropped by today to take advantage of the long weekend. Monster Sushi was on point with Gyoza, Miso, Unbelievable, Creature and TekkaDon. All excellent. Nicely done everyone.

The bad news is they lost points due to making us wait almost an hour for a small order -the staff is very nice but they appeared to be filling a ton of Grubhub orders before us and the place was half empty. It would've been nice if they gave us a free soup or something to apologize for the long wait but c'est lavie. Other issue - the main one- is their prices are astronomical for a hole in the wall joint in Morristown. As high as any of the Manhattan glam spots, i.e. Soho, Madison Ave, Columbus Circle, etc. Where else do you pay $13 for a salmon roll? 90% of places charge around $7-8 per, so you're looking at a very steep bill. Again, the fish is great but be prepared to spend hi end prices for a hole in the wall joint.

In a nutshell, they prioritized catering-size take-out orders over seated customers, and tried to pad the bill after we handed our credit card. We had a 6PM reservation for 2 and we were the only people in the restaurant. We had a 7PM business call scheduled, and being the only seated customers, assumed we were good on time. A table of 3 and table of 2 walked in after we were seated and placed our order. We merely ordered 2 rolls, each and 1 order of salmon sashimi. Our meal took more than 1.25 hours to be served, because the restaurant was pumping out To-Go orders. Not small To-Go orders, but large round catering trays of sushi and specialty rolls! Our meal was served in "dribs & drabs," not all at once as we usually experienced here. One order of sashimi, wait 10 minutes, then one roll, wait 15 mins, then one more roll... still waiting for two more rolls. The rolls were loose... not like we were used to. Something changed at Asahi. After waiting another 25 minutes, we told our waitress that we preferred our entire order served all at once. Her reply was "it's out of my control how it comes out," with a shoulder shrug. We asked for the manager, and complained that Asahi is making its seated customers wait over To-Go orders. The manager said sorry & tried to give us free dessert. We didn't eat it and we told her we were now late for a business call, because it took an hour and a half for 4 rolls and an order of salmon sashimi. To make matters worse, they overcharged us. Our bill was approximately $88. and when the waitress took we card and ran it, the waitress added a $20. speciality roll that we didn't order or have, increasing the bill to $113. The manager had to fix that, which delayed us further. The food and service were great 3 times prior back in 2025, but this experience was so bad, we will never be back.

We got the ninja roll, fantasy roll, sunshine roll, and salmon mango roll. Everything looked delicious and given the price, all the rolls were very tasty. We found the fantasy roll to be a bit fishy, but we enjoyed the salmon mango roll and sunshine roll. The ninja roll was also good, but since it had cooked fish and eel, it tasted more savory than the other ones. Overall, I would definitely come back to Masago and would recommend it to anyone in the area! The restaurant also has a decent amount of seating if you wanted to dine in as well.

This used to be one of my favorite all you can eat sushi spots, and I honestly recommended it to a lot of people. I hadn't been back in about a year, but since it's always packed, I assumed the quality was still the same. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The biggest issue was the freshness. The sushi tasted like it had been prepared hours earlier instead of being made fresh to order. The fish lacked that fresh, clean flavor I remembered, and the texture just wasn't right. The sashimi slices were surprisingly tiny compared to what they used to serve, and both the eel and the albacore tuna tasted old, which was really disappointing. On top of that, the portions were noticeably smaller across several dishes. I don't mind smaller portions at an all you can eat restaurant if the quality is there, but this time neither the quality nor the freshness met the standard I remembered. I'm not sure if management or the kitchen has changed, but the experience was completely different from what it used to be. I truly hope this was just an off day because this restaurant was once one of my favorites. Sadly, based on this visit, I can't say I'd rush back.
