I like writing instruments no matter what the price, but what makes this store at Valley Fair mall special is the service they provide. I took my Mont Blanc fountain pen in for service and they not only did it within a half hour, they did it for free. When I came back to pick up my pen, I purchased some refills and they treated me with the same courtesy as the gentleman next to me purchasing a $10,000 pen. Now that is class. read more

I received outstanding customer service from this Montblanc Boutique. I had the pleasure of being assisted by Diana Wang. It turns out that Diana is the boutique manager. Diana took all the time required to show me options for ink colors, as I was there only to obtain some refills. I asked many questions about a Montblanc 149 pen that I was interested in. Very disappointed - purchased a leather briefcase, after 6 months of relatively light use the stitching along one edge broke. I expected a replacement but they would only repair it. The repair took around 10 weeks and they tried to charge us $350 for it...which we refused. The quality of the repair is not great either, it's very easy to tell where the repair has been done. I don't know if it's the Mont Blanc brand or just this store but I will steer clear in future. I had previously purchased a pen and a belt and those were not faulty but the store/company handling of this most recent purchase was shockingly bad. You don't expect this from such a (supposedly) luxury brand. read more

I had to buy a graduation present last year for my brother that was graduating from business school. This was definitely the right place to get the gift. They helped me with my pen selection based on projected career path of my brother. They even offered to engrave the pen, which personally I think would distract from the pen, so I declined it. Service was definitely good, but I expect it from a place where I am paying several hundred dollars for a pen. read more

The sales people here will try to sell the used items here. Very irritating. If I want to buy used items, I know where to go. They never seem to carry the items unopened for items that I see in the display. You have to very careful. It is better to order items online. read more

Sent my wallet to be repaired, first I was told I can pick any wallet as a replacement, and even the lady that works there helped me pick one out. My husband owns a few Mont Blanc pens and I thought it would be nice to surprise him with a birthday gift. The sales associate who sold me the pen holder happened to be there on the day we went to return the item. He said it wouldn't be a problem to make the return. My husband looked around and didn't see anything that caught his eye. He turned to the associate and said "I'm not seeing anything I like, so what can I get for $160.00?" The sales associate said in a sarcastic manner, "Several ink wells." He was completely unhelpful and snarky when he realized he wasn't going to earn a larger sale from my husband. It was clear he didn't care because a sale was already made and that we would be stuck with a store credit. My husband is so disgusted with this store and treatment by this employee that we went ahead and wrote a complaint to corporate as well. Not only did I not receive my original receipt, but even if I had, their policy wasn't openly shared so it wouldn't have mattered. In this case the gentleman I was working with cared about his sale. I expect this kind of treatment from Target and sadly, Target's return policy trumps this as does their customer service. They should be giving customers reasons to shop at their boutique stores and they've completely missed the buck. My husband is a serious collector and I'm sad that this experience left a sour taste in his mouth. How is it that their online policy is better than their in store policy? I came in to purchase some refills for my pens, but was not impressed with the level of service that was provided by Louisa Liu. When I had purchased my first pen in Beverly Hills, the sales associate was very attentive and seemed to genuinely care about my interest in their pens, making light conversation along the way, as a good sales associate should. At Valley Fair however, it was very transactional--a forced half smile, no genuine warmth, nothing more said than the bare minimum. It felt more like I was the one trying to get her to open up instead of the other way around! I'm not sure if Louisa is plagued with the dreaded bitchy-resting-face-syndrome, but it definitely felt chilly in there. A friend of mine also reported a similar experience to me (maybe we were helped by the same person), but needless to say I will not be returning to this location for my future Montblanc purchases, which include a few more pens and a watch that I have been eyeing. Montblanc is known for their pens, so I came here to get my first fountain pen. I have used ball pens for a while and thought I would try something new. The staffs here are knowledgeable and friendly, especially Rainbow. Sharyn was the one that helped me test the pens, and she was friendly and professional as well. Both of them will take good care of you and give you good advice on pen selections. I especially like the decor of Montblanc as the stores always has a nice symmetric feel and cleanliness about it. If you are in the market to look for a fountain pen, the flagship pen of Montblanc is the Meisterstuck 149, which features a comfortable grip and easy to write gold tip. The staffs here will teach you how to load and unload the ink in the fountain pen as well as how to use them as you will write with them at an angle unlike ball pens. You will get to try all the pens before you buy using the samples so that would ensure you get what you really want. As for the exchange and return policy, just beware that they do not give refunds but only exchanges. So only spend what you want and expect to exchange for similar or higher value items. Brought my fountain pen in for repair, they told me they would send it out and then customer service would call with an estimate. Two weeks later no call, so I called and they told me customer service was closed (its friday people). They are arrogant and I think I would have gotten better service from almost any other high end pen store then them. Who needs this. My efforts to buy other products at this location have sent me to other locations to buy Mont Blanc products. Geez, even the internet gives you more information then they seemed to be able to provide. After reading Badri N's review I couldn't believe he gave them five stars. His experience is sad and frankly not particularly unusual. read more

The product quality is very good and is made in Germany. I am a big fan of the brand and I like shopping here.
