This is a hidden gem in Burbank. They have deli/ grocery and restaurant all in the same location which makes it very convenient. They sell gelato too which it's perfect to try during summer. They have a variety of Italian deli meat and sausages. They also sell pasta and pasta sauces all made in Italy. They have different kinds of Italian coffees too. I also noticed they sell Italian packaged cookies and They also have a small selection of different kinds of Italian pastries such as cannoli. This location makes you feel like you're in Italy since everything is Italian. Even the restaurant is decorated like the restaurants in Italy. Service is friendly. As I was walked in I was greeted. There were people ordering food to go or to dine in. I believe this location takes online and phone orders. For the parking, this location has a private parking lot. I didn't have any issues finding parking spot on a Saturday afternoon. There is also street parking available too. I will be back to try different flavors of gelato.

My family has been coming here for years and the deli has a wide variety of meats and cheeses at decent prices. The family comes here specifically for the mozzarella. They are some of the freshest cold cuts around. They also have some amazing bread naked fresh deli. A small Italian market within the deli sells various Italian goods such as wine, crackers, pasta, cookies, and other items. If you are looking for an Italian ingredient for a meal but can't find it, check here.

If you're craving a little slice of Italy in Burbank, Monte Carlo's is the hidden gem you need to check out. I came here for a casual Italian lunch and left completely stuffed and satisfied. Lasagna - Absolute comfort food. Layers of pasta, perfectly seasoned meat sauce, ricotta, and melty cheese... it was everything I wanted in a classic lasagna. Generous portion and served piping hot. Pizza - Thin crust, crispy edges, and that sweet-savory sauce combo that makes you close your eyes after the first bite. I went with a classic pepperoni and wasn't disappointed. It's not trying to reinvent the wheel--just good, honest, Italian-style pizza. Spaghetti and Meatballs - The meatballs were tender and flavorful, clearly homemade, and the spaghetti was cooked just right--not mushy, not too firm. The marinara sauce? Rich, garlicky, and not overly acidic. A solid staple that hits the spot. Gelato - Don't leave without getting gelato from the deli side. The pistachio and stracciatella were incredible. Creamy, fresh, and not overly sweet. A perfect way to end the meal. Bonus: The old-school Italian deli attached is full of treasures--imported pastas, sauces, and a ton of stuff you'll want to take home. TL;DR: Classic Italian food, zero pretense, great portions, and old-world charm. Whether you're dining in or picking up from the deli, Monte Carlo's is a Burbank institution for a reason.

There was a time many years ago that the restaurant was pretty good. It's not a fancy restaurant. It's basically cafeteria style food. Wasn't impressed today. The food was basic, it was Lukewarm, the meatball lacked flavor & the spinach ravioli was fair. The eggplant parm was soggy. I've had these dishes in the past and they were much better back then. I felt like I was eating a frozen dinner that was reheated. I would just stick with their pizza. I wouldn't go back again. Deli market is great! Large variety of items. Service is ok.

We were hosting a Halloween lunch at our office. Office potlucks are fun especially when you get to order some things so large there's no way of missing it. The 4 foot sub sandwich was for Monte Carlo. I went into the deli and ordered the sub sandwich two days in advance. Staff was really helpful and courteous just the best service all around. There were about 20+ people partaking in the lunch and the sandwich was all gone! I highly recommend Monte Carlo deli for all of your catering needs especially when you're doing an Italian theme:)

The bread was perfect as was the Muffellata

This time I came here to get all the "salami" needed for a Muffellata. The New Orleans mega sandwich. It was for a gathering of friends to honor my Brother Maurizio (who passed away 5/25/18) he was an avid sandwich fan. I came here early Saturday morning, and it was a breeze, for me, but a lot of work for Edgar who actually asked me how he can help. Well I told him all of the "salumi" I opted for 1/2 lb each of mortadella con pistachi, prosciutto, capocollo, salami genovese, provolone, caccio cavallo. He was on it while I perused the aisles, finding the necessary olive salad, giardiniera, and pepperonicini. I then went to the counter and everything was perfectly wrapped in pristine white deli paper, all marked. Right behind the checkout was the perfect sesame bread I needed for the edible vessel I needed for these delectable treasures. Edgar's professionalism was instrumental in my execution of my first Muffellata, it was a success! Thank you Edgar and Monte Carlo Deli

Italian Deli meets Restaurant Serving the San Fernando Valley for over 50 years with a wide range of imported wines, cheeses, meats, groceries and more... Not to mention in house made from scratch bread and other local favorites plus they do Italian Ice Cream aka Gelato aka it's part Gelateria (they may even have a sorbet). It's beautiful brick walls plus rustic panels on the restaurant half and bright well spaced displays in the grocery with lots of Italian and European motifs throughout. I've found some great gifts for friends over the years (grocery side) only stopping in briefly for wine and more, but finally had the full Monte Carlo /Pinocchio experience when we dined in. It was busy as I expected but picked up even more as we were ordering. My boyfriend went for the meat lasagna and knowing this was going to be my first big meal of the day I was ready to build an epic large salad and wow did I ever! The layout is pretty fun, intimate and neighborhood. First rate service and kindness from start to finish. I did a few sides like the artichokes, mushrooms and so on but did remember they had some go to small salads like their: Three Bean Salad, Spinach Salad, Green Bean Salad, Caesar, etc. Note the salads aren't listen on the menu board (behind the deli counter), however all the ingredients are laid out in front of you as well as online. Vegetarian options are abundant as well as some gluten free options especially when it comes to pizzas or pasta. You can even have a vegan pizza pie done without cheese. I discovered the Vegan Vegetable Ravioli (also GF) after our lunch here, definitely noted for next time. I try to just enjoy what I can when I check out authentic Italian spots like M.C.'s so it's always appreciated when they have a few things to choose from PLUS... The portions and prices for everything are out of this world from Ziti to Spaghetti dishes, Eggplant Parmigiana, Sandwiches, tons of other entrees, sides for days and more including bottled beverages, beer, wine and water. You can enjoy a few tables or booths inside or the patio (limited seating) overlooking Magnolia Blvd in the city of Burbank near other longtime must like The Mystic Museum, Halloween Town, Blast From the Past and more. Parking is easy (free) in their lot and you can enter from the street facing sides - street parking is your friend as well, especially if you'll be in the area for a bit. They do have some table service, but you'll get most of what you need after you check out with cafeteria style trays to carry out your food and beverages. It's definitely a touch of fast casual rather than full on restaurant. A must try staple in Los Angeles' San Fernando Valley that you'll be happy you tried, visited and hopefully enjoyed.

Still the best! Monte Carlo Combinations with macaroni salad and a Greek salad. Is the way to go and the cheese pizza is incredible.

Nice place to discover in burbank! Sick Italian Deli!

This place is a hidden gem of the kind I absolutely LOVE finding. I'm a sucker for those old-world markets, where the terms "vegan," "gluten free," and "nitrate free," just don't seem to make an appearance. Definitely had a Euro-Italian thing going on, with a sit-down restaurant that serves several hot meals and sandwiches. Loved the ambiance, loved the selection, and the food was decent. It was busy, but we DID go at lunch, so... If you're looking for a great selection of deli meats and cheeses, mustards and other unique condiments, and a wide variety of wines, give this place a try.

Every time my bestie and I are in Burbank, we come here. It's a great place to hold birthday parties, the Pinocchio decor is so cute. The baked ziti and Caesar salad are our favorites on the menu. The deli has a great selection of pastas and sauces to choose from and make at home. The cooks are sweet and always give you a generous amount of toppings. Note: Make sure to save room for gelato!

I can't believe in my over 30 years having grown up in LA that I only came to this deli / market for the first time. I loved the atmosphere of walking into the kitchen of someone's home, the portions, prices, and selections were just all on point. They quickly got our meal prepared and seem to have enough staff to get people through. We went at lunchtime on a weekday and it was moderately busy but not impossible. Street parking can sometimes be a challenge but it helps that they have two doors of entry. Definitely returning here soon.

Major stomach ache after eating here. I arrived around 5pm on a Monday night and the place was half full with customers. Ambiance feels extremely outdated. Throwback to the 1980's. I ordered the cheese raviolis with pink sauce with a side of sausage. Food was lukewarm and the taste was rather forgettable. Some of the saddest garlic bread I've ever tasted. To be honest, I'd rather go to the Olive Garden (which isn't saying much) than ever eating here again.

Food is always delicious and the ambience is fun and whimsical! Very nice guys taking your order and preparing the food, they'll always help you out. Favorite combo is the Chicken Cesar Salad and the Fettucine Alfredo! They give you garlic bread with the order and you have a whole wall of wine options to choose from! And very fortunately you do not have to look far for dessert as their gelato is the absolute best! So yummy!

    Do they have table service?

Nope. It's cafeteria style- you order at the counter she take your delicious beak to your self-chosen table! Great food. Fun atmosphere.

    Are they dinning indoors?

Yes, I've seen people eating in doors and in their patio area.

    Do they have Outdoor dining?

They have a covered little patio on the west side of the restaurant. The room adjacent to that is also very good for social distancing.

Does anyone know if they sell pizza dough? Thanks

Yes they do from what I remember.

    Do they have quality Parma?

    Yes.

    Is their pasta homemade?

    The noodles are not homemade

I am honestly surprised that they are allowed to call themselves "Katz's Deli," since I'm sure I'm not the only one that came here thinking it's the NYC one... anyways... should've read through the yelp reviews closer. Regardless, the quality of the food, particularly the pastrami sandwiches, is very high. The pastrami is diced up into cubes, rather than slices. I would prefer them to be slices but the taste was still amazing. I tried the regular pastrami sandwich ($20) as well as the pastrami reuben sandwich ($23). While both are pastrami sandwiches, I would highly recommend paying the extra $3 to get it as a reuben sandwich, as it comes toasted and with Russian dressing and sauerkraut in it as well. The pastrami sandwich is pretty ordinary but the reuben sandwich is very delicious. The sandwiches also come with your choice of mac salad, potato salad, or coleslaw. We tried one of the mac salad and one potato salad, and they were pretty mid but not bad tbh. Service is nice. I believe the countertop is run by an older couple. It seems like they have been doing this for a while. We waited for about 20-30 minutes for our food. Again, it's located in the back of a liquor store so while we were waiting, we just had to awkwardly stand around in the liquor store. There is seating outside, but it was in the sun and it was a hot day today. We ended up taking the food togo to eat somewhere else. Overall, good food. Feels slightly deceptive with the name but surprised with the great flavors of the food. Solid 4/5.

Imagine rows of radicchio, rainbow chard, exquisite endive, squash blossoms, sunchokes and artichokes, fennel with their fronds tangled in long red chilies surrounded by pungent herbs like perilla, lovage, tarragon. An extra star just for that. But... My only gripe is their weekly Saturday BBQ. Through the years I have enjoyed both kinds of ribs, the brisket, sausages, turkey and chicken that they cook and smoke right outside in the parking lot. Even if you don't see it, you'll smell it within a couple blocks. I can't think of a better way to promote a bbq business and Handy Market knows it. They're counting on all the new customers who get lured in by the intoxicating scent of grilled meats on live fire to try this sad, sorry excuse that they call BBQ. All the meats are dry, tasteless and overcooked. They do not season any of the meat, not even a lick of salt. They want you to buy their sugary bbq sauce and baste them on the grill. Meaning you still have to finish cooking it at home but it was tasty enough and the price was low so it was worth doing for many years. Lately though, it's been expensive and inedible. The quality of all the meat has become sus and I was sold the driest beef ribs with texture like leather, that they probably dug up from the back of a freezer and a smelly turkey leg that's left over from like, Thanksgiving. My homemade bbq sauce could not save either meat and suffice to say I will never order barbecue from here again. What's happened to you, Handy Mart? I just can't believe you've slipped so far. This is the worst bbq in all of LA and I cannot recommend anyone eating here. Those brave souls who do not heed this cautionary tale cannot say you haven't been warned. Good luck.

We grabbed two breakfast sandwiches, one with bacon and one without, and both were standout in their own way. The first thing you notice? These sandwiches come out piping hot, wrapped tight and ready to go. Crack them open and you're hit with perfectly cooked eggs and an almost ridiculous amount of gooey, melted cheese. Not skimpy, not balanced, loaded in the best possible way. The Kaiser roll deserves its own shoutout: lightly toasted with just enough crunch on the outside while staying soft and pillowy inside. It holds everything together without getting soggy, even with all that cheese. * The meat version had crispy, flavorful bacon layered just right, salty, smoky, and not overdone. * The meatless one didn't feel like a compromise at all, still rich, filling, and honestly just as indulgent thanks to the cheese and eggs. No frills, no gimmicks, just classic deli breakfast sandwiches executed really well. Bottom line: If you want a hot, cheesy, perfectly toasted breakfast sandwich that actually hits the spot, Paulie's is a win. I can't wait to go back for lunch!

The Downtown Turkey (my choice) is pretty basic (which was fine by me) but it was very dry and I only had half, leaving with a stomachache for the rest of the afternoon. My dining companion had the Penne Alla Vodka which she really liked. I didn't get to try any, but if a pasta dish is the winner from a deli, well, enough said. A while back, Yelp listed this as a business to try. I'd saved this for the next time I was in Studio City. My entire feeling while heading home was "I drove all the way over here for this?!"

While my life pahtner is more into sweets, I'm more into savory, so I was happy our daughter was taking us to a spot for a breakfast bagel sandwich. We also ordered a variety of Hank's bagels, which were a struggle to pull apart with your hands and even with a knife, but I really enjoyed my Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel. The star of my meal at Hank's was their Number 1 bagel sandwich. That alone warrants a 4.5 star rating. Hank's is located in Burbank, CA., specifically on Riverside Drive and Valley Street. Rose Street is another cross street. It's across from Sweetgreen and Philz Coffee. It's on the same side of Mendocino Farms and just down the road from Bob's Big Boy. The shop is neighbors to Tocaya Organica. Parking is street parking and neighborhood parking, which is where we parked and had to walk about a block to Hank's. There isn't any indoor seating, but there are outdoor covered umbrella seating in front of the shop. It would be challenging to have a large group dine there. The shop is all about their bagels, so the decor is minimal with tshirts hanging on their white walls, a glass display case showing their cream cheeses and other cold items, and a wire rack showing their Dirty Deli Style Potato Chips for sale. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and really helpful. We dined outside and the staff member who brought our food out was also courteous. Hank's is a shop where you order from their register and they call your name out when your food is ready. Hank's is a popular bagel shop with a lot of take out business as there was a steady flow of customers picking up on line, call in, or to go orders. For the variety of bagels we ordered, we ordered Rosemary Sea Salt, Salty Chocolate Chip, and I ordered the Everything Jalapeño Cheddar. The only issue I had with the bagels was how tough it was to tear or cut the bagels. Besides that, the bagels were very flavorful and tasty. Make sure to buy their plain cream cheese and liberally spread it on the bagels. The cream cheese made the bagels even more delicious. My Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel was too beautiful to eat. I love spicy, so maybe I'm immune to anything spicy, but I didn't taste any spiciness at all. There was a good amount of jalapeños on top, the cheddar doused the bagel, and I engulfed that bagel. The star of our breakfast meal was the Number 1 bagel sandwich. The number 1 comes with fried egg, choice of either spicy maple-glazed bacon or homemade turkey sausage, sharp cheddar, tomato, and aioli on an onion bagel. I selected the bacon and I loved it. I didn't realize this, but you can place any of their sandwiches on any of their bagels. Next time, I'm doing a sandwich with the Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel. The Number 1 sandwich is number 1 for a reason and I don't think you'll regret ordering this sandwich. All of the components combined with the bagel made for satisfying and yummy bites. I inhaled that sandwich and I thought that was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever eaten. We always love spending quality time with our Baby Girl. Spending time with her while eating delicious bagels and sandwiches at Hank's made for a blessed time before our long trek to San Francisco.

I've gotten the breakfast sandwiches and bagels with just cream cheese and both are very good. However, I think the price tag cannot be over looked. It's almost $20 for the breakfast sandwich. So if you get 2, it's a $40 breakfast, which is pretty pricy for a restaurant that isn't even a sit down place. This location has 3 tables out front, but we usually take ours to go since we live close. Everyone is always super friendly when we're there, and the line can get very long. I wish this could be my go-to breakfast spot, but I guess I'm not rich enough for that LOL PS: ALWAYS get your bagel toasted. The bagel is wayyy too chewy otherwise, much better when toasted.
