We love Monty's Good Burger. It is so cute, comfortable and clean inside. The outside is super cute. Parking is not the most fun, but you will find a space. The service is just wonderful. They are fast and always get your order right. You can eat there, do that, or do pick up or delivery. All their burgers are great. We love their buns. They have single and double burgers. Their deluxe grilled cheese and their chicken burgers are also great. Their fries are great, plain or loaded with stuff, you will be happy. They are always fresh. They have a chopped kale salad (Caesar) which is great and we love their tater tots. They also have great cookies, shakes and they even have vegan burgers and dogs. Monty's Good Burger is worth the 5 hour car drive! Parking can be challenging at this location, but plenty of seating! This location seems pretty busy every time I've been there. The dining area is always clean! The constant checking in while ordering through the enjoying your meal shows the care they have, without going over the top. Was vegan for about 2 weeks for religious reasons, but other than that I'm not a typical vegan person. Always struggle to find vegan places that have all vegan. Untilllll...... I came across Monty's and omg it is my favorite spot to eat in even when I'm not vegan. I got the double cheeseburger and omg ot it was sooooooo good. The patty tasted so good even the sauce it was all together a perfection. Along side the fries made it a perfect side (just wished they had a combo rather than getting the fries separately) The service and the guys at the register were super helpful answering all of the questions, even brought the food to our table. We didn't know much about this place besides it being 100% plant based. We've passed this place a bunch of times with lines out the door so figured we try it out. My husband went w/ their Impossible Davey Dog aka Impossible beef hot dog w/ raw onions, pickles and mustard. I went w/ their Single Cheeseburger with "cheddar cheese", Impossible patty, lettuce, tomato, house pickles on a brioche bun. The clear winner was the hot dog. I hated the cheese. My thought process was, this is what acrylic paint would taste like in cheese form. Next time, no cheese! The stand out was their Sparkling Strawberry Lemonade which consisted of soda water, organic lemon juice and strawberry puree w/ a splash of house made simple syrup. I'm honestly shocked I'm about to write this review, so let's just get it over with. My wife and I visited Monty's Good Burger a few weeks back when we were both craving some burgers. This place looks super cool from the outside, and thanks to a dog logo, a neon sign, and an overall just cool vibe, so does the inside. The menu here isn't massive, but it's a burger spot so it doesn't need to be. For my meal, I ordered a double cheeseburger with a side of french fries and a lemonade and it was made pretty promptly. Let's talk about the food now, because that's what matters. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but I've absolutely crushed burgers from Plant Power, Mr.Charlies, and had impossible and beyond burgers all around and usually like them, well, not this one. I don't know what it was, but this was probably the worst burger I have ever had and I can't even pinpoint why, but the patty itself was absolutely awful to the point I didn't even finish it. The french fries were solid enough, and the lemonade was pretty standard and perfectly fine, but the meal was absolutely ruined by the awful burger I can't get past. Overall, it's a big no from me and I wish that wasn't the case. There was no line and everything is vegan. Thank god cause I'm lactose. I got a single burger with fries. you really can't go wrong with monty's. the vibes of the establishment resemble an 80s diner, the food is all vegan, and there's trinkets to look at everywhere. plus there's free stickers at the register! i always get the hot dog because it's much harder to find vegan hot dogs than hamburgers, but i'd love to explore the menu more. this was my first time trying travis barker's matcha shake and the matcha flavor definitely shone through. i used my metal straw and i'm glad i did because the shake was THICK - i could not imagine trying to drink the shake through a straw of weaker composition. i did it the next day as a shake soup and the matcha flavor was still prominent and lovely parking is a little more whack than usual for LA but it's so worth it for monty's. also there's so many seasonal shakes (i'm so sad i missed the banana matcha shake ... The hot dog was super solid and as far as I'm concerned was as good if not better as any combination of mystery meat that comprises a regular hot dog. Also LOOOVED the fries. This is without a doubt, one of the best plant based burgers there is!! This location can definitely get packed, with a line going up the street, so expect to wait on the weekend. This year during Lenten season I decided to try new vegan spots on Food restriction Fridays. Always knew about Monty's, but never gave it a try until a recent Friday ago. Upon entry you walk into an old fashion burger joint vibe that reminds you of movies you'd watch. Front cashier was extremely helpful and nice, even going out of their way to open the ingredients list of their menu items to ensure our restrictions were met. The food came out within about 10 minutes and I was genuinely surprised. First look at the sandwiches and you wouldn't think they were meat alternatives. Presentation wise, this definitely made the cut and presented the food as appetizing. Now regarding the taste, I can't even lie for only having a handful of vegan food in my life, this was definitely an enjoyable burger. Flavor was good and it was everything you'd want in a burger. Only knocks on this place would be that the alternative meat was clumpy but I'm sure that's how it usually is, I'm just used to regular meat. Checked out the Echo Park location of this popular small local chain of plant based burgers. It happens to be located close to the Laveta Terrace Stairs. Monty's is completely okay for vegans. Everything on the menu is plant based including the shakes and the cheese. The prices are higher than the usual fast food, but are better compared to other vegan burger places. A lot of the menu is typical of fast food. It's a lot like the older diners in style. There's the bright blue interior with neon and whatever. All the menu is plant based. There's not just burgers but also shakes, and "chicken" sandwiches. It's about $8 for shakes, which were a pretty good size and thick as fuck. We thought these were an okay price considering how much was in these. It's $12 for the single burger. These come with the usual toppings including vegan cheese along with lettuce, onions, pickles, and tomatoes. A bit much for what looked like a McDonald's burger, but these were full of flavor. The other thing is we would have liked to have gotten fries, but we already paid too much for everything to be honest. Everything is good except the prices of course.
