Food Really good , I had one the best burger and sweet potato fries ever from a good truck Service Great , no complaints , it would be impossible to complain because they are so nice Ambiance It was a food truck - looked good from my view !

Not sure how I didn't write this sooner as I've enjoyed Vurger Guys many times both on Grand Ave outside of Whole Foods and at plant-based events. This Vegan Burger biz on wheels is permanently perched in Downtown Los Angeles aka DTLA as well as as the Mid-City/Mid-Wilshire/Miracle Mile area... Yes they have two trucks! Plus pop up frequently in North Hollywood on Sundays. A black-owned vegan treasure of LA with amazing crew and a great owner (Na'eem). They run things smooth, chill and with kindness as well as care. Usually a select small number of tables outside the and close by their trucks, but not directly in front of ordering/pick-up area... Available on Uber Eats, GrubHub, Doordash, and Postmates for delivery. If you're hungry or ordering for a few, check out the Vurger Deals! Rarely a line as the flow is constant. I enjoy the Sunrise and Classic Vurgers the most (make it a double to truly level up your meal), but the tacos are quite impressive as well (beyond meat/street style or jackfruit carnitas). Can't go wrong with throwing Guyz fries or tots into you order also. V G has crazy great sauces as well including a Vurger (secret) sauce. Check in at Vurger Guyz and get an amazing treat that's pretty perfect on a Taco Tuesday. Enjoy deep fried oreos for dessert, add a bottled beverage to wash all the yum down and savory your Very Vurgery experience.

I've had vegan burgers before but it didn't hit the same as a regular burger... until I had a vurger from Vurger Guyz!! Better than any meat burger I've had from In n Out & The Hat! I ordered the cheesesteak vurger thru Doordash and wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a vegan patty to a meat patty when eating this. It's such a good alternative if you want to switch up from eating meat. I also ordered the fried oreos for the first time and my goodness!!! Its so amazing! Who knew so much happiness could come from fried oreos!?! I'll definitely be back in person and bring my meat lover bf to try this spot out!

5/11/2022 Full disclosure, from a non Vegan perspective....I was pleasantly surprised that I liked the classic Vurger. First off, there's that "char" taste that you get on the first bite and it reminds me that it was grilled. It was refreshing because the veggies accompanying the vegan patty were crunchy & fresh (lettuce. sliced tomatoes & pickles). Of course since it was indeed vegan, there isn't that umami taste you'd normally get from a real meat patty. Otherwise it was pretty good & satisfying. It was ordered through Ubereats & it arrived timely, pretty warm & the presentation was acceptable. It was a good vurger, it's not spectacular but it fit the purpose for consumption. Maybe if I order from them again, I'd try the sweet potato fries with it.

Vurger Guys is a vegan food truck that is located on grand ave right outside of Whole Foods in downtown LA. My wife and I always pass the truck when we go to Whole Foods we have been seeing it for a while. Today we finally decided to give it a shot. We ordered online via Grubhub. The food was ready in about 20 minutes after the order was placed. We walked over and picked it up from the pickup window. * The classic Vurger was pretty good. Its a plant based burger with lettuce, pickles, grilled onions, tomatoes, vegan cheese and their special Vurger sauce. The burger had a nice char to it like a meat burger. It's not the best veggie burger I have had but it was still solid. If you want a vegan burger then this will definitely do (4/5) * Street Taco I would pass on this. You get the option to pick either a corn or flour tortilla. I chose a flour tortilla with plant based meat, guacamole, salsa and Vurger sauce. I thought the "plant based meat" was over cooked and the taco lacked flavor. It was a very average taco and something I think you can skip (3/5) If you don't want a meat burger then I recommend Vurger guys to get your vegan burger fix.

SO GOOD! I'm not vegetarian but we got an event at my school & V Guys truck was there. This is quite literally the YUMMIEST DELICIOUS BEST Veg burger I've ever had & let me tell u I ate mine cold and it's still giving yum. Must try even if ur not vegetarian. THANKK YOU!

My sister came in from New York and wanted to visit Vurger Guys. I've passed it several times downtown and have been meaning to stop by. I follow them on Instagram and it lists their locations daily. We arrived before they opened and we were greeted by Cory, one of the owners. He took our order and since this was our first visit he walked us through the menu. I wanted to go home and eat but my sister couldn't wait. She sat down at one of the tables outside the truck and was doing the "happy dance" while savoring this burger. If you were Downtown LA and walked by, I am sure you witnessed her obvious enjoyment of her burger and fries. The meal comes with a drink. Choice of bottled cream soda, sparkling lemonade or water. I sat down and decided to get started on my burger. We both ordered the signature burger, I ordered sweet potato fries and she order regular fries. Let me tell you, the fries stood on their own. Half way through I decided to dip them in the Sunrise Sauce ( their house sauce). That sauce hit my soul! OMG it was SOOOO GOOD! If you check in you get a free taco. I decided to save the taco for later. I really wish that I tasted the taco while there because I would have order a few more to go. I got the taco with jackfruit and it does have the sunrise sauce on it. My suggestion is to order the burger with and extra patty for the additional $3. You will thank me later. I think outside of not eating the taco at the truck, my other regret is not ordering my burger with the additional patty. Parking- this is downtown so metered parking is available. You are able to order online and pick up. I suggest doing so especially during the lunch rush. You can pay through Cash App or Venmo.

Likely the best Vurger in the city let alone "B"urger! The Vurger sauce should be called crack sauce cuz that's what it is...addicting! The burger is jam packed with flavor that gets better and better after every bite. And don't get me started on the sweet potato fries! Crunchy golden brown goodness. But most importantly, and this is incredibly hard to find, is the service. WOW! The truck manager (cuz that's what he should be ) walked my daughter and I through the entire menu with a smile. It is our first time and we felt at home! Even the customers in line were nice and helpful! They are parked almost everyday on 3rd and Bixel and I gota respect the hustle. Parking is plentiful and the area has a seating against the wall too! I'm a new customer...and will be a loyal customer. Don't sleep on this LA. Vurger is the new Burger!

Vurger Guyz is my favorite vegan burger. HANDS DOWN. NO CAP. My usual order is the Classic Vurger with a second patty (ALWAYS get a second patty). The buns are classic hamburger buns with sesame seeds on top. The patties - OMG - are the best. They have this incredible charred taste that is reminiscent of the char that's on Carl's Jr. burgers but they could neverrrrr. The vegan cheese is always melty and delicious. Lettuce is crisp and shredded. Special house sauce is FIRE. I want to compare it to In and Out's sauce but I don't like In and Out's sauce so we won't do that. My fiancé gets the Sunrise (with a second patty ofc) which is like the Classic but it has fried onions and fried jalapeños in it! We always get fries and their fries are soooo good. They make them fresh and I would compare them to Five Guys! Crisp, perfect size, and piping hot when you get them. Their food truck is located on 3rd and Bixel. Once you hit the corner you'll see them parked on Bixel! Order online and set the text reminder and you'll get a text when your order is ready. Ours was ready in 15 min. I'm not sure why it took me this long to review Vurger Guyz because I definitely have ordered a few times but glad I finally got to gush about how much I love their food! Come by and support black small business and delicious AF vegan food!

You definitely can't go wrong with any of their selections here. I see this truck all the time in downtown and once I finally had i can see why the line is long here. They specialize in one thing and do it to perfection. Check them out when you can. It's totally worth it.

This past visit I came with a large group and was still seated immediately. I didn't realize just how large it is inside, as I usually am towards the front or on the small front patio. ANYWAY The Korean wings were very good but admittedly could have been a bit spicier. The loaded fries had a bit too much melty cheese on top that oversaturated the other ingredients. The chicken quesadilla was I enjoyed but was a little basic. Last time I was here before this I had a chicken tikka quesadilla which I think was a more inventive dish that is certainly more memorable than this one. Small critiques but I do very much enjoy District and will one day come not just for happy hour. The cocktail of the day is usually good!

I ordered the pork ribs and they were delicious! They were tender, flavorful and served hot as in temperature so I was very pleased. For my sides I had ordered the sauteéd garlic spinach and a vegetable medly. I ate and enjoyed everything on my plate. I wasn't a fan of their margarita with a splash of soda, so they made another one without hesitation and it was terrific--well balanced. It wasn't too tart nor too sweet. I had been to The Bloc several times before but I had never noticed District's location until I took the Metro train and exited the station and passed it. No rooftop view or wonderful food can change the way you are made to feel. I knew it wasn't just us when a nearby table made a comment "good luck" when trying to get our server, Tony, to come back to finish placing our order and another table with a similar comment when we needed a pen from our server who seemingly avoided for 15+ min after our check was tossed on our table with no thanks or any words. Sad, because the food here.. 5 STARS!!! Hands down some of the best food! Other staff also... 5 STARS!! So welcoming and friendly like the entire hotel staff being guests at the hotel. Our server Tony was 2 stars as he started off ok but ran away mid order thinking it was the loud music and did get drinks delivered very quickly. When he returned with drinks my son was able to finish his menu order that was missed. Tony did explain the small kitchen and items would arrive at different times.. all good and things came out quicker and in sync more than expected. Allergies were noted and accommodated so that was appreciated. After food was delivered and we had time to enjoy our meal, the manager (I presume) was welcoming and interested in asking how we enjoyed our meal. It was all wonderful and told him so.. once he left however, it was as though we didn't exist or were of little importance. Tony came back and tossed the check on the table and turned away quickly, never stopping to see if we actually needed anything else. Had to get his attention to order dessert. My son ordered the strawberry cheesecake bar and I ordered an espresso martini.. this wasn't on the menu and I would NOT recommend an espresso martini. One of my favorite drinks I've had from MANY places. This one was all VERY strong espresso. It looked like a martini but there was NO sweetness of vanilla, chocolate or any other sweet flavor. There was no smooth finish of vodka... literally very harsh espresso with nothing else. I put it to the side hoping our server would come back. My son finished his dessert entirely and we waited... and waited. My drink sat full on the side of the table and Tony tossed our check down without question and turned to run away. I had to nearly chase after him to get his attention when I explained my drink was not good and just wanted it removed from my bill. He asked if I wanted them to remake it and I said no, I wasn't even sure it was the drink I ordered. He did have it removed but literally came back with the check and tossed it on the table and ran away quickly again without a pen so we couldn't sign to our room and leave. It dragged painfully on and on ruining what could have been an amazing experience. My son had to finally get up and ask for a pen which Tony gave him with no words and seemed annoyed. So odd and lacking in hospitality. Is this normal at an upscale restaurant to not care if your customers are satisfied? Coming from the Bay Area and dining at other upscale restaurants I just haven't ever felt "less than" like I did here. I sill left 20% but Tony, I am a 30-50% tipper and you judged us wrong. We may not have been in sequins and tux's after coming off an 8 hour drive and in comfort clothes, but deserved better. Serving is a demanding job, and I appreciate hardworking hospitality professionals as I was once one in my younger years. Customer interactions significantly impact a guest's experience and a server that is dismissive or unfriendly does not reflect the level of service I would expect from a business with such a great atmosphere. Food: -Cara Cara chopped salad - honestly best salad I've had anywhere hands down.. flavor, crunch, zest -Golden Hour Burger for son commented on how juicy and flavorful it was even cooked Med-well -Truffle Mac n cheese was the item that didn't get ordered as Tony ran away too quickly, but was ok. Was drier than expected and not as creamy and cheesy as expected. -Ragu tomato pizza had a most light and flavorful crust, my son loved it more than I did so he finished it as the tomato sauce was a bit much for me and I was more than happy to keep to my chopped salad

Cute building with lovely patio seating: from the trailing hanging pothos plants, Spanish tiles, to relaxing latin-house music the vibes were welcoming. I'm not much of a drinker though, when asked if I wanted to make my pina colada a "float" I thought incorrectly about ice cream. It was graciously explained that you take an additional shot of rum and float it on top of the drink or mix in to make it extra boozy. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Tasted like if a watermelon aqua Fresca was combined with a margarita, there is a hint of salt that brings out the fruit sweetness. We special ordered a bunch of different proteins and vegetables at half portions to make a feast: Aguachile- Light refreshing starter, kanpachi perfectly marinated and great for the summer heat. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. Fried chicken tacos- Found the chicken slightly on the dry side, if there was a creamy/thicker sauce would be even better... nothing wrong with flavor, good mild heat. I did enjoy the fresh shredded cabbage and carrots, reminded me of bahn mi. Empanadas- Loved the acidity of the sauce that cut through the fattiness of the ground meat. Light shell. Crispy Squash flower- Delicate crunch, like an angelic version of a jalapeno popper. Lamb chops- Definition of "treat-yourself" luxurious meat lollipops. Celery salad- Simple dish but the lemon flavor and tartness really helped break up the richness of other dishes. Churros- Light crunch and small, petite dessert. The thin caramel sauce is addicting. Fine dining, for those special occasions or if you just want to splurge for a morale boost highly recommend this restaurant. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. It's not gourmet but definitely great as bar food. I inhaled the pepperoni fries and the tacos weren't bad as well. But I was there for drinks and I love the two for one special. And that it's every day. That's pretty much what I'll be back for as it's close to work, service was great and the vibe was cool. Not to mention, there's a few pours of whiskey I don't mind whetting my palette with.

The prosciutto and arugula salad was without equal. The Cavatelli alla Norcina was so good I thought I died and went to heaven. We ordered one of each dessert and they were all good. But the Vin Dolce Chiffon Cake, sauteed apricots & cherries and vanilla-mascarpone whipped cream, rules over them all.

California offered an immediate rush of light, space, and possibility. My memory is that when I turned my phone back on at LAX, my friend messaged to say he'd gotten us the hookup at Bestia. That dinner belongs to a chapter in which I spent considerable time in California and felt energized by the contrast with New York. My friend is highly discerning, with impeccable taste in food, design, and culture. He notices details most people miss, so when a place impresses him, I pay attention. From the moment I saw his message, I knew the reservation meant something. Even before we entered, Bestia's character was evident. Faded lettering crossed the corrugated metal facade, while brick walls and old loading doors preserved the warehouse's industrial history. Inside, enormous windows and garage doors brought light into a room shaped by glass, exposed ductwork, and warm amber pendants. When I fantasize about living in a loft, many of the attributes I picture are here, especially the incredible windows and connection to the street. Inside the restaurant, the dining room achieved a combination I rarely encounter. It had the table density and collective buzz of a great New York restaurant, but within a large, design-forward space closer in scale to something found in Chicago. New York creates energy through tight rooms, while Chicago excels at ambitious spaces with strong architectural identities. Bestia captured both advantages and made its considerable footprint feel alive and unified. We sat shoulder to shoulder at a pale stone counter facing the open kitchen. Golden era hip hop was playing, and A Tribe Called Quest still rings a very specific bell. I ordered the squid ink pasta, and it was exquisite, with enough depth and precision to command attention amid everything happening around us. We also spotted an unmistakably A-list celebrity, whom I will leave unnamed, making the night feel quintessentially Los Angeles. During that period, I often stayed at the Ace Hotel downtown, and the Arts District felt vibrant, raw, and full of possibility. The proximity to Skid Row could be deeply jarring, with severe hardship existing beside ambitious development and expensive restaurants. That contrast kept the neighborhood from feeling like a neat story of urban renewal, even as Bestia seemed to anchor its evolution. The warehouses and loading docks gave the area a character that no new development could convincingly recreate. Nearby, I also remember the American Apparel complex during its demise and the rise of impossibly cool Los Angeles designer John Elliott. His Escobar sweatpants and Villain hoodie helped define the kit of that moment; loyalists will understand. Los Angeles is a fickle city, drawn toward whatever is new and shiny, which makes Bestia's longevity especially impressive. Scene without substance is plastic, and Bestia earned its electricity through exceptional cooking, assured service, and a remarkable space; if I lived in Los Angeles, this would be one of the places I'd rely on whenever I wanted to impress someone. This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the world.
