Cute, lil spot. Not the best Korean bbq I've ever had, but it satisfied my craving. Parking sucks, big time. The lot holds like 2 cars, and street parking is a lil sketch. The restaurant itself is very small. The tables are low and not comfortable to sit for a lengthy period of time. Maybe that's their strategy to turn tables faster. Nonetheless, the selection of meat is very basic, but decent quality and pretty tasty. The spicy marinated pork belly was by far my fave. I had a ton of that bc it was perfectly seasoned. Incredibly friendly staff. The place is pretty small and probably only good for parties less than 4. It definitely is on the more expensive side compared to other KBBQ spots in Gardena. The meat selections are good and the meat doesn't taste cheap either. With that said, you pay for the quality and service! I saw small beef intestines on the AYCE menu online so I knew I had to go especially when I'm in socal for only a week. We arrived at approximately 6 pm on a Friday evening and got the last parking spot in the parking lot, whew! When I first looked inside, I was so excited because the tables are low and the feel is kinda reminiscent of what you see in Korean dramas- fun!!! We were seated right away and the waiter just asked us what we wanted...and then realized we were first-timers (they must have a lot of regulars). We were able to order 3 portions of meat each time and we had brisket, marinated sirloin, tenderloin, chicken gizzards, beef intestines (small). It was a lot of food considering all the side dishes, soup and salad that was also included. Everything was delicious and service was good. This was a really good place to go for a snack after the free advanced screening movie nearby! For $19.99, the quality of meats and the variety were great! We had items such as Beef Tongue, Pork Belly, Brisket, Spicy Pork Skin, and Marinated Short Ribs. It was our first time here, so the staff were more helpful and attentive. Maybe they helped us cook because it was close to closing time and they wanted to improve our efficiency. The grill was changed often and we were asked many times if everything was okay. We did have to ask for more water and garlic. There seems to be 2 other locations that are owned by relatives, but this one is ranked #1. Parking was free and easy here. I've tried most of the Korean BBQ spots on Western and Moon BBQ was one of the few places that I have not tried yet. I finally tried it out after a group of friends said they wanted to eat at Moon. Once inside I thought it was pretty disgusting... It felt like a humid 80 degrees inside since the vents do not work... The place is filled with smoke and the smell of grilled meat becomes overwhelming to say the least. // SERVICE // The service here was pretty quick. They were constantly coming by to clear things and refill all of the side dishes and meats. // FOOD // We went with the $17.99 AYCE KBBQ menu. The menu consisted of different types of meat such as brisket, short rib, chicken, pork belly, marinated meats and all that typical stuff. The different types of pork belly were actually my favorite. The meat was tender and juicy from all of the fat. The short rib was also pretty good. Overall, I thought Moon BBQ was pretty good for the price, but they need to fix the vents! I was given a recommendation to go here by a friend and I'm glad I came! The size of the restaurant is a little small but it's PACKED! Expect a wait when you come and I wouldn't suggest bringing a large party since the restaurant is pretty small. Tables can accommodate 4-5 people. The AYCE price for option A is $19.99 and option B is $25.99. We all went with option A, which offers plenty of options. My personal favorites were the fresh tenderloin (obviously tender), the chopped beef sirloin and the marinated short rib. The cuts of meat looked fresh and tasted great! Definitely had a lot of flavor was very tender. The fresh tenderloin is literally a big fat piece of meat....pretty good!! The grill is a little different than some other places I've been to but I liked this grill style better. The fat from the meats drip down easily and the grill doesn't get burned as fast so there are less grill changes. As far as service goes, they definitely try their best. We had to ask for rice multiple times before it came out. They are a little slow on the service but that's understandable because they are crazy busy. The banchan was also served in very small portions. We had to ask for refills numerous times. The good news is that they had endless rice paper! I couldn't survive without them. Moon BBQ is small and the ventilation is terrible. When we ate the on Friday night the front door was left open the entire time because they had to let the smoke out. Pros: meats were marinated well and tasty. grilled were super hot and efficient meats were cooked fast. Cons: tables were small with tiny children size chairs. ventilation was terrible. came out smelling like what we just ate. I visited last week for post-workout meal with my buddy and it was amazing. Waiters were very attentive and helpful. When we had trouble cooking the meat, they always came to help. Mr.Lee was friendly and made sure we get good experience. I dropped my chopsticks few times and he was always brought me new ones with a smile. Parking is rough, shared lot with little spots to park. The spaces are also small so larger vehicles will have a hard time parking. Both driveways are steep and lowered cars would need to take a steep angle or take up both lanes to get in. For sure not low car friendly. Music is actually pretty loud, kinda hard to hold a conversation with someone. There is 1 TV in the restaurant. The atmosphere here feels rushed, everyone wanting to get in and eat and leave asap. There are tables with heaters to cook the food. Table tops of 4, but they add 2 seats to make it a 6 top if need be. Be careful where you step the gas lines are on the floor. Chairs are stools, not the most comfortable, but it'll do. Customer service was good when we went. It's probably before the dinner rush came in. The servers did check on us ever few minutes, if we needed refills on our water or drinks. They did also change the grill when they saw it was getting to "dirty" from all the meats. The food was not bad at all. We went 3-4 rounds with 2-3 near choices everyone. Plenty of choices for the price. Plus a free beer with a check in on Yelp. Food = 4 stars, Service = 4 stars, Atmosphere = 3 stars and Parking = 2. Overall a decent place to go to if your in a pinch and need a AYCE K BBQ restaurant. I would recommend this place to my family and friends if they are in the area and need a spot last minute. There are plenty of other AYCE K BBQ places to go to if you have more time, which give you a better atmosphere and choices in food. As far as Korean BBQ goes this place is average. Very busy and we had good service. Meat quality is ok especially since all you can eat is $23.99 per person. My 8 year old was already full price. It's half price for kids 3-5 yrs old. They only bring you 2 meats at a time so a lot of the time is spent cooking instead of eating. Beef brisket was a bit too fatty but all the other meat ..steak sirloin and marinated beef was great. I really like the abundance of sides. Having someone Korean speaking with you is a huge plus. The tables are small and they will squeeze 6 people at one table so if you need a lot of space don't bring large party here. As of 9/2014, best Korean AYCE BBQ in the South Bay. It offers two tiers of AYCE with one at $18.99 and the other at $24.99. Option A pretty much includes the popular cuts like brisket, pork belly, chicken, and even some intestine. Need some seafood, then get Option B, which gets you shrimp, octopus, and some other cow parts. We ordered Option A. The brisket was quite good, with nice marbling and just enough fat. The pork belly was on the drier side, but that's probably because we overcooked it. The chicken was surprisingly good with a nice sweet marinade. Decent selection of side dishes like kimchi, salad, potato salad, radish, and some other items. We also ordered steam egg and kimchi noodle soup, both are AYCE with either Option A or B. Steam egg was tasty and the kimchi noodle soup was brothy and spicy. I recommend ordering the kimchi noodle soup as one of your last ordering items. On the wall I saw some pretty cool menu items like lemon soju and lunch box rice, and I'll be sure to order next time. We came on a Friday night around 7:30 pm. It wasn't that crowded, but starting around 8:00 pm, the place was packed with several groups waiting outside. I recommend either making reservations or coming before 8 pm, especially on peak days. The restaurant itself is not that big and the seating arrangements are quite tight, but, honestly, who cares. One of the reasons people come to Korean BBQ is to enjoy some tasty meat with friends and family in a tight-knit setting. The service was overall good with timely responses to requests. Prices have gone up within the last few years, so the lowest course option is now $23.99, which is incredibly pricey compared to other KBBQ places. The meat quality here used to be better than a lot of other places. However, I feel like that has definitely changed over the years. During my last visit, we had so many pieces of brisket that were more fat than meat. They also only bring out 2 servings of meat at a time (even for a party of 10), which is a bit frustrating because the portions aren't that big so you're mostly just hungry and waiting for more food. It also sucks how they still only offer 1 piece of the marinated short rib per person (even for the higher priced course, which is not great at the price you're paying). Service was decent. However, during my last visit, we were rushed out within an hour of dining - even with a reservation. We had a large party and we were rushed out even though we hadn't finished eating yet, so I wouldn't suggest coming here if you have a big group. Overall, I am pretty sad that this place has changed so much. There are a lot of better KBBQ options out there, so I don't think I'll be coming back here any time soon. read more

For a table of 5 people, they were refusing to bring us more than 2 orders of meat at a time. The place is tiny so you are sitting inches away from other people at the next table. It gets super loud. And smokey. Service is slow and not so friendly.
