It's located in a shopping center and is decent sized with maybe 15 tables and a great modern, sleek, clean decor. The staff was very friendly. My lunch order was ready in 10 minutes. The lunch deal was AMAZING - two sushi rolls and either miso soup or a salad for just $9! My bill was literally $9.61! You can't even get a salad or sandwich for that cheap around here! They have at least 15 different sushi rolls that you can choose for the lunch special. For dinner they have a ton of unique and tasty-looking specialty rolls which I can't wait to try! For lunch I went for a spicy tuna roll and a shrimp tempura roll which were both fresh and tasty. The shrimp tempura was nice and crunchy and light unlike some other shrimp tempuras that get soggy before you bite in. The side salad was tasty with traditional Japanese carrot-ginger dressing. I will 100% be back here for lunch it's such a great deal and I am very interested to try their speciality rolls for dinner! read more

This review is ONLY for the lunch special bento boxes at Okinawa and spoiler alert: they're quite awesome plus super reasonably priced! I always have the eel lunch special and husband gets beef. The eel is always cooked and seasoned perfectly. The bento box lunch specials are served with miso soup to start with and the boxes have salad, California roll (4 pieces), the main item you order, rice, and veggies steamed in some kind of a sauce that I can't put my finger on. The sauce has always been good since we started frequenting Okinawa except the last time we were here when it did have an odd taste, so I was unable to eat it. The California roll that comes with the box is nothing special (not that anyone expects anything special from a California roll anyway). Really, these boxes just have very good portion sizes and very good prices attached to them, which is how Okinawa gets 4 stars in my book. If their veggies have an odd taste/smell again though I may have to update my review. Will also hopefully try actual sushi here at some point in the future! read more

Great sushi option in Lone Tree/Highlands Ranch area. I was filling up my car at the gas station across the parking lot when I saw this place. It was a cold December night and the idea of warm miso soup sounded amazing! I had seen this place driving up and down Lincoln but had never stopped in until that night and was glad I did. Great little sushi spot in a busy strip mall area in lone tree. The much specials are my favorite, 2 rolls with miso or salad for $10 or 3 rolls for $13! Great deals and you can save another 15% using yelp check in every time! The service can be a little hit and miss, busy or not busy, so I find that I need a good hour for lunch or more if I want to get in and out on time. With the location of the restaurant, I didn't have very high expectations in the beginning, it turned out everything was so great; food, price, atmosphere were really nice. Some dishes we ordered reminded me of Matsuhisa or Sushi Den but more reasonable price off course. The seafood quality was awesome. We had a great dinner experience and will go back again. The lunch specials on the menu look like a good option, so it is on our list. Tonight I was in the mood for sushi... not just any sushi but really good, really fresh, and really amazing sushi. I think I've found it for miles around. I hoped on to yelp... as you do when your not familiar to an area and looked to see first what was close. Okinawa was second on the list with an approval rating of 4 stars with at least 100 reviews. But the picture that sealed the deal for me was Katherine F.'s of the crazy dragon roll, look at that thing, seriously go... now...I'll wait. Okay now that you've seen it amazing right? Well unfortunately apparently this location doesn't have that particular roll... I'm not sure what that means but it was okay the waitress gave me another option that seemed to be comparable the titanic roll holy mother of F it was delicious. We started of with a spicy tuna poke and an order of gyoza (pictured) as far as appetizers go they were off the shnizle, they did exactly what an appetizer should, curb my hunger until the main course came to the table, but they did so much more by leaving me wanting and waiting until the main meal arrived. We ordered 6 rolls for 2 people, word to the wise... it's too much. But my buddy and I polished off all six rolls and the two appetizers in under 20 minutes. The rolls we ordered are in order of best to still really good: 1. Kobe beef roll (I know what some of you are thinking "who is this guy raving about sushi and he orders the beef... get out of yelp!!!!" Normally, I would agree with you but I in this case it wasn't the Kobe beef it was the asperagus that made all the difference. 2. Okinawa roll - lightly battered 3. Titanic roll - literally the size of the titanic 4. Spicy girl roll - just what it sounds like. 5. Rainbow roll - I didn't try this one because I ate all of the other rolls and I was going to be sick 6. I was in the area for work and had the freedom of eating whatever I wanted, so of course I had to try every sushi restaurant within the 5 mile radius that my hotel shuttle would drive me to (yeah, I love sushi). I tried four places total and Okinawa was the best by far. I ate here THREE TIMES in a span of less than two weeks. I only ordered nigiri, sashimi, or chirashi. The fish is fresh and you can taste the difference in quality compared to some of the other places. The complimentary appetizers during dinner were also really good, and I'm not talking about edamame or miso soup. They give you really good, seasoned sashimi. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much out of sushi in Colorado (or Lone Tree to be exact), BUT Okinawa totally set the bar high and even beats some places back home in the Bay Area. read more

We have ordered from Okinawa a few times but came in last Friday ~6pm with my in-laws, husband, and one year old son. The staff is extraordinarily friendly, especially with our kiddo. They brought out a sippy cup of water without us asking and placed his order of soba noodles with chicken and vegetables right when we sat down so he could get his food quicker. I cannot stress how fantastic our waitress was with him and with catering to our whole table. The sushi is yummy and fresh. We had maguro and hamachi nigiri- both delish! My favorite creative rolls are Titanic and Golden Roll. Titanic is the best. The combo of papaya with shrimp tempura and smooth avocado is killer. I think this is a yummy signature roll if you like trying the more unique rolls. Titanic: Shrimp tempura, papaya, spicy tuna, avocado inside; spicy crab meat, crunch on top with soy bean paper. The surprise of my week! My whole family loves sushi... I would even go so far as to say that we are sushi snobs. This place used to be a Thai restaurant, and we loved it. We were in the area decided to stop by and saw that it was sushi. In all sincerity it was some of the best sushi I've had around Denver. I know that someone will be disappointed in this place because that just happens. Even the best places make a mistake once in a while or have something they don't like. However the nigiri was right, the quality of the fish was on point, And the creativity of the rolls along with the size of the rolls... Was just really good. They have really done well with decor, it was clean and the staff was attentive. I can't remember the names of the rolls that we had, but I'll put a picture on here. They were done with creativity and Percision and were absolutely delicious. We love some of the high-end sushi restaurants around Denver, but I can tell you if we are in the area around Lone Tree we will be back for lunch or dinner. As we entered we realized this place was not your run of the mill, fly by night sushi stop. (Thank goodness- I'm picky) First, whoever designed it, selected very nice finishes for the space and thought out the space planning well. It's small, but there is plenty of seating. Sushi Bar: for such a small restaurant this place has a gorgeous sushi bar! The sushi chefs also thank you and bow when you get up to leave. It's lovely. The wait staff is courteous and timely. Menu: This place has something for everyone. I'm a true sushi die hard, and they aim to please! My daughter is vegetarian, and they have a great selection of vegetarian rolls. For the non sushi lover, they have a great menu of teriyaki and other cooked items. The fish: fresh... The rolls are not too small either. I expected them to be small, since they prices are very competitive! But they make nice large rolls. And they don't skimp on their fish pieces. What a nice hidden gem! End cap space means windows all over and seems like a patio. Lunch specials are great deals which include sushi and sashimi plus soup or salad. Enough food to make feel like you just ate lunch (sushi specials ever does that). All of the sushi and sashimi was very good and tasted very fresh.
