This is my go to coffee shop whenever I'm in the area. I came here for their exotic lattes first but then fell in love with their food menu too! Their ingredients are always fresh and flavors are surprisingly intricate--as a foodie, I approve! This place has an urban coffee house setting, with a laid back vibe. Coffee, tea, breakfast, a chill place to read, or a counter top to sit and focus on work. It's my default cafe spot. The staff are excellent, always on top of it and friendly. There is no obligation for anyone to remember my name or get to know me or my usual order, but they do and it's very much appreciated and noticed. They'll always take care of you and make sure you're happy with your order and your experience. They are always attentive and professional. Kitchen staff are *chefs kiss* really good at what they do. Always hot and fresh and work hard to get the orders out and at 100% their best. Never had a wrong order, even during peak hours. It was more like two halves of a finger sandwich, and I finished it in less than 3 full bites. Will not be ordering again if this is how they're cutting costs and making their customers pay the difference. While a member of the staff did at least reimburse me for the sandwich, I'm still hungry and wish I had the sandwich that I ordered and would have gladly paid the 17 dollars it costs, for it. Iced Churro Latte was on-point with how churro-y it tasted. What a lovely drink, kinda reminded me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I was glad it wasn't overly cinnamon-y, either. Was on the sweeter side, but I like sweet lattes. Thanks to the barista who recommended this one. Interior was fun-looking with all the plants and natural, modern decor. Seemed like a cool place to hangout or chat with friends. Staff were friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, especially with the influx of customers and several modification requests. Not a fan of the parking, as the lot was limited, and there was valet towards the back for some reason. People will line up waiting in their cars until a space opens up, or even create a temporary spot and then run in to pick up their order. MoonGoat coffee has such a great vibe & excellent quality of coffee. I was sooo happy with my Churro Latte, I added their sea salt cold foam on top and it gave it the perfect blend of sweet and a little salty. If you were to ask me to describe my IDEAL coffee spot, I'd describe MoonGoat. This location is really big with a lot of seating. There are tables, bar style high-top seats, couches, and a nice back patio too. The vibe is chill- kind of a hipster decor with good music always playing... exactly what I'd want if I were working or studying (sorry but what's with these cutesy bright pink coffee shops?!). The staff is just as nice as I remembered and the parking is still a little too small but the valet guy was ready. Toasted matcha latte is still the best drink but I tried their seasonal hojichai latte which was the best of both worlds: hojicha and toasted matcha. Also very delicious. This was an amazing cafe for some yummy crafted bites and coffee! I was in search for a spot that wasn't dedicated to a full on brunch and MoonGoat was the perfect pick. Their self checkout tablet is mainly for takeout orders just FYI! We made the mistake of ordering on screen but they were nice and brought the food to us regardless. Coffee is not on the sweeter side, so you may have to adjust it to your liking. I got an Iced Latte with Ube Foam on top and it was still not as flavorful. The food however, was so delicious! I indulged in a Brunch MoonGriddle which was basically a breakfast biscuit sandwich. I loved the contrast of sweet and savory with the maple syrup poured on top. Solid coffee spot! You can't go wrong with anything here. I enjoy trying their seasonal drinks from time to time. Most recently, I've tried the pumpkin spice latte with koatji (oat and koji) milk, which had horchata vibes, and I also enjoyed the figgy pudding latte. The parking lot was really crowded, I was lucky to get one of the last spots. They also have valet, but I really don't like to valet my car. Service was friendly and welcoming. I couldn't resist the seasonal specials so I ordered the Pumpkin Spice Koatji Latte ($7.50/16oz) and a Pumpkin Streusel Loaf ($4.50). Koatji is a special Japanese rice milk that is a plant based alternative to traditional milk. It was a really tasty well balanced latte. And the pumpkin streusel loaf was a bit small of a bite but absolutely tasty and perfectly moist. So sad these are seasonal items because I would love to have them yearlong. MoonGoat Coffee Roasters happened to be on a best of list, and we happened to be looking for a place to hang prior to dinner. Most coffee shops close early after the morning rush. MoonGoat happens to be open until 9 pm. We arrived on a late Sunday afternoon and the place was pretty packed with very studious people on laptops. I did not realize the Sunday before Labor Day was such a studious day but there we were. I ordered the matcha latte with honey while Mari H. ordered the Cortado. Both drinks were made to order which was nice. We did not order any food as we were headed to dinner shortly afterwards. We found a comfy spot to sit and chat. There is seating in the communal area and a bunch of tables set up for laptops. They have a patio with additional outdoor seating in the back, which is pet-friendly. There is a shared parking lot out front and we did not have any issues finding parking. Service was great and we were impressed with the variety of coffee related items they had to sell. I've had decent experiences here in the past, but I came today specifically for a pour-over. Their menu listed three options: $13, $15, and one for $5. When I tried to order the $5 option, I was told they were out. I asked if there was any other way to get a pour-over that wasn't so expensive, and the response was just a flat "no." No apology, no attempt to offer an alternative--nothing. It's pretty unreasonable to only offer pour-overs at such high prices, and it honestly turned me off from coming back. Also, the girl at the register seemed completely unsure of what was going on. I had to repeat my order four times. I understand if she's new, but she didn't communicate that or ask for help. I visited for the first time yesterday and ordered a flat white latte. It wasn't as hot as I would have liked, but the coffee itself was good quality, so I decided to come back today with a friend to try the food and some other drinks. I ordered the deluxe avocado smash toast. The presentation looked great at first, but the execution fell short. The bread seemed like it had potential but wasn't toasted enough to stay crisp, so it quickly became soggy and couldn't hold the toppings. The avocado didn't taste fresh and was drowned in a balsamic glaze that made the dish overly sweet. The tomatoes didn't seem fresh either, and while the arugula was fine, it didn't add much flavor. The eggs on top didn't really contribute anything to pull the dish together. My friend had the biscuit and egg sandwich, which was supposed to be made with a house-made biscuit. Unfortunately, it completely fell apart at the first bite and crumbled everywhere. She said it had no flavor at all, just biscuit and egg with nothing else going on. She did enjoy her drip coffee and mentioned it was smooth and not sour. I also tried the matcha latte, which the barista told me was sourced from a farmer in Kyoto through a direct connection with the owner. I had high hopes, but it tasted flat, chalky, and lacked depth and color. I let the barista know and asked if I could switch to a flat white instead. He said no problem, but when I went back to my table, I was called back up by another barista who asked, "Ok, what's the problem?" I explained that the matcha wasn't what I was expecting and that I have had plenty of matchas before. He quickly offered to add more matcha, and even though I would have preferred a different drink, I didn't want to make a fuss. He made a new one, but no one checked back in. He just looked at me for a reaction, and I ended up saying, "Don't worry about it, it's fine." On a positive note, the ambiance is great for studying. Even though it was busy, everyone was quiet and respectful, which made it a good spot to get work done. Overall, I'm not sure I would return. The food missed the mark for me, and while the coffee is decent, I do think it's important for guests to feel comfortable speaking up if something isn't quite right, especially with drinks. A little more warmth and attentiveness in the service would really enhance the experience, as both service and product quality go hand in hand. read more

I live close to MoonGoat so I was excited to try this place out! Walking in the place is spacious with outdoor and indoor seating! Usually when I go to Coffee Shops I like to get Pour Overs! I used to love MoonGoat Coffee and it was one of my favorite coffee shops, especially during COVID. The coffee was consistently excellent, and I always looked forward to their homemade granola. Unfortunately, something has changed. The last three visits have all been disappointing. I kept giving them another chance, thinking maybe it was just an off day, but yesterday confirmed it wasn't. Every drink I've ordered has been poorly made, and at around $9 per drink, the quality simply doesn't justify the price anymore. It's disappointing because this used to be one of my go-to coffee spots in Orange County. Consistency is what keeps customers coming back, and lately that's been completely missing. There are too many great coffee shops in the area serving better drinks. Sadly, I won't be returning.
