It was a Saturday morning which means I get to choose my weekly cafe stop! Decided to go here last minute since it was near where I was going to run errands. I've only been to the garden grove location but I think this one is better minus the wifi that is only available starting at 2pm (more on that later). So I arrived around 9am and place was already pretty busy. First impression was it was roomy and lively. The service was nice and quick that day. I decided to get the one drink I am familiar with here which is cinnamon iced coffee, but I added the strawberry foam on top seeing that it was a seasonal option. I also ordered the biscuit egg sandwich with spinach and feta for 75 cents extra. With 15% tip, my purchase came out to about $20. There are lots of indoor tables and outdoor tables, but since this place is so busy you really have to scout for a spot with an outlet. I sat in the corner next to the TV since an outlet was visible. I set up my things and within 8 mins or so my food came out. I asked the worker for the wifi password and to my surprise they said wifi isn't available until 2pm. I thought this was super inconvenient because like most people I needed to use the internet on my laptop to get work done. I should have asked them how come but I just respected their policy. I sat there thinking I either have to wait that long until 2pm or just read my books instead or work on stuff offline. However, I looked around and there seemed to be people using the internet somehow. Then I remembered I can turn on my hotspot from my phone and that worked! However, for anyone who doesn't have hotspot, coming here to use wifi before 2pm will be an issue. I dont recall seeing any sign giving customers a heads up about this 2pm rule which would be helpful for customers to decide if they want to stay or not before making a purchase. As for the food, it was pretty good. I enjoyed the first 15 minutes of my coffee. The biscuit egg sandwich doesn't quite look like the one featured on their TV, but it tasted better than it looked. 3.9 for the whole meal. Parking is pretty spacious but when I left they had a valet person in the parking lot who wasn't there when I came. It says free valet even though spots were still available. After a certain time I guess you have to valet your car and tip the person. While some people see this as a convenience, I'm not quite sure it is when spots are still open and you can just park yourself. My final thoughts are its a lively place to catch up with friends, get some work done, or read a book and grab something to eat. A couple of inconveniences do bring this place to 4 out of 5 for me. read more

I got the matcha latte and avocado toast! The latte was smooth and frothy and comes unsweetened! The portion size for the hot drink is also larger than I expected so that's a nice surprise! Avocado toast was yummy, I wish I tried the one with balsamic in it but that's alright. This is genuinely the only place I can get work done. Fantastic environment for studying, not sure what it is about the setting. The music is good and they have outlets. The workers are nice too. The WiFi is pretty ok most of the time, but usually I'm just working on paper. Typically I just get a black coffee to give me WiFi codes. It's pretty good but sort of expensive. I love how conveniently this place is from my parent's place and is now my go to coffee run. The parking is limited but there is free valet service when in a pinch. I stayed pretty much two hours with no questions so that is nice ! The entrance of the place is easy to find and you are welcome into this simplistic feel aroma. Order your coffee and pastry items. MoonGoat Coffee Roasters is by far one of the cutest coffee shops! The shop itself is very spacious with plenty of seating both inside and outside. They also have a bar seating area which tends to be open when it gets busy. The coffee itself was really good! The churro latte with 50% sweetness wasn't too sweet and perfectly balanced either the almond milk. The cold brew with the ube cold foam was also really good and the cold foam didn't over power the coffee. The staff was really friendly & informative about their different drink options. You said you wanted to try something new to eat, but at the same time admitted you were scared to do so. You even told me to take you anywhere, doesn't matter, take you anywhere you stopped caring at that point. But from the first question, I knew where we were goin'. We pulled up to Moongoat and you walked out with obvious trepidation. I wondered how you had gotten so nervous about trying new things. We made it to the register and were greeted with a hello and a smile. You looked at me with bewilderment. Jeez, I thought. So I ordered for us. We shared breakfast at Moongoat. Hot coffee, which was refreshing at first sip, French toast, avocado toast, a breakfast salmon bagel and a churro latte. God, that churro latte was good. I let you drink most of it because you're sweet, but I had a few sips myself and I was floored. But despite how delicious everything was, we left and you had hardly anything to say! I was expecting, well, something at least some type of, maybe a thank you. So we got in the car and drove home. We stopped at a red light and I sighed, still content with my meal but starting to really wonder if you were. But then you turned your head and looked at me. Vibe: It's a pretty & productive work place. It seems like most people WFH or study there but it's also such a chill place to catch up or read a book. They have indoor and outdoor seating, not many outlets though. Food/drink: I got the Caramel Iced Latte and is was delicious! I wish they had cream tops but it was still soo good. They do charge extra for Oat milk. Service: I felt like the service was okay. I asked a couple questions about what drinks I should get and it was pretty cut and dry but still overall good service. Other: Parking was a bit more difficult to find since it is soo busy. If you're patient it shouldn't be an issue but most likely if you didn't arrive there before 12 pm then you'll have trouble finding parking. I ordered drinks with a male employee who was blond and looked very young. Didn't feel that friendly. I ordered a hot Americano, one shot, and in a mug. He completely ignored my request. As soon as a Barista called my name, he gave me in a paper cup. I told the barista I asked for in a mug. He apologized and gave it in a cup without a cup handle. I couldn't drink it due to hotness. I couldn't even touch the cup. Then, finally got it in a mug with a handle. I don't know how difficult it is to make coffee in a MUG! How was a taste of a coffee? The coffee was watery. Other party who came with me ordered the popular churro latte, but it tasted lots of cinnamon powder and syrup. That's it! Young people in & out at this place, but unless they don't really care about the coffee quality EXCEPT the ambiance, I guess you may like it. MoonGoat has some of the best high quality matcha I have found in OC! It's so hard to find a good matcha latte but the one they make here is fantastic. I don't like sweet matcha but I do enjoy flavored matchas. They didn't have any flavors here, just a simple classic latte. It was still one of the best I've ever had! Rich, creamy, and very earthy flavors. I walked right in, ordered my drink and by the time I was done taking pictures, my drink was already ready. Sweet staff, parking was not the best, I think that would be my only complaint. Excited to try some food here next time! read more

Nice ambiance and good coffee and service. This is our second visit to a Moongoat roaster in the same weekend. This location had 1 drip (medium) choice compared to the Garden Grove location which had 3 drip choices. This location had actual foods selections displayed which you don't see often. I didn't order any food but the dishes looked pretty good. The medium roast was excellent as expected. There are 2 coffee bars but only 1 was open (Sunday lunch). We will likely come back. read more

My friend recommended this place after I told her that I really enjoy matcha. Admittedly, this would have been my third matcha of the day so...oops. But, I thought the strawberry matcha was tasty and refreshing. The avocado toast was yummy! It's on like a toasted sourdough toast so it has some good bite to it. The place has a free valet and 2 hour WiFi which I thought was interesting. The guy who took my order was really friendly and we had a little convo and he was very patient with me since I was still assessing the menu. Everyone was really nice there. There is ample seating and it honestly was really comfortable and spacious too. It seemed to be a pretty popular place for people to work. Did I get anything done? No, but that's my fault. OK so the vibe? Super cute. The hanging chairs, big leafy plants, and warehouse-y setup give it that cool girl coworking energy. It's definitely a spot to pull up with your laptop or pretend you're in a Pinterest mood board. I got the iced matcha with the berry foam (berry crunch? berry dream? idk but it was good). It was giving fruity matcha sunset in the best way Buuut the French toast? It kinda flopped. Looked like a main character, tasted like an extra. It wasn't awful but just felt dry and overhyped. Loved the energy walking into this space. The hipster cafe decor is super cute and chic. They sell coffee beans and barista tools for at-home experiences. There is ample amounts of seating areas but it's so popular that the tables indoor and outdoor fill up fast. We ordered the following items that I would recommend: Chagaccino ChagaMatcha Churro Latte Smoked salmon bagel and cream cheese Biscuit and spread All the drinks were so tasty. It was also my first time trying mushroom coffee and I was very impressed. I came back down from SF and visited Moon Goat. I used to come here all the time for my caffeine and productivity needs. The atmosphere is great for hanging out, getting a little work done, and grabbing a nice pour-over. They rotate their beans, which always gives you something new in a place that feels so familiar. I see people playing chess, studying for school, or chatting about their lives. The food is fresh too. Still the same Moon Goat I always love and one I'll definitely miss when I head back to SF. read more

Parking availability is decent and free, which was good. It is right next to the café. The café is pretty spacious, but seemed a bit unkempt in some areas. Some of the seats were broken, and snagged our clothing, and there were crumbs everywhere on the seats and ottoman. They do have tables and chairs available, but there is limited availability as there were many students studying on their laptops. There are more tables outside in the back of the cafè too. Coffee was a bit strong for me, but not bad. They have oatmilk as a substitute, and a few matcha options. I didn't try their pastries though, but they have those too. Service was decent. read more

They took wrong order, bad customer service, the food drink is expensive compare to other stores. Drink is small. and the toast is hard like rock! They gave me what I consider to be the worst coffee I have ever had. It was so watered down I could barely taste the coffee. it felt like they used day old coffee that had long past it's prime. I waited here for about four hours while my car was having some service done on it. The person at the car shop recommended waiting at MoonGoat even though they had a waiting area - "you're welcomed to wait here, but MoonGoat is far more interested, trust me." Suffice it to say, he was correct! I enjoyed coffee and working on my laptop while I was there. There was ample seating, and they had power at some of the seats which let me stay busy for the four hours. I appreciate that no one rushed me out even though I wasn't ordering food / drinks for four hours straight. The coffee was great. The beans and ingredients tasted very high quality. While the cup was on the smaller side (8 oz?) for the price, it was very high quality. They seem to have quite a good selection of food as well. I didn't get to try any food (I was saving my appetite for Christmas dinner), but it looked great, and lots of people came in to eat. It's worth a try if you haven't been! read more

Got the Breakfast Bacon, Egg, and cheese bagel. I have to say I was disappointed. I have had other sandwiches here and been 100% satisfied, but this one was so disappointing. It felt like since it was late in the morning basically lunch they just threw what they had left over from breakfast on this. This is it. I think this is my spot. So spacious, so chill, so gorgeously designed. There's hanging little wicker chairs. Gorgeous emerald mid-century furniture. Outlets galore. A small but mighty food menu, and a diverse selection of fantastic drinks. I knew this *had* to exist somewhere in OC, and I'm so glad I've found it at last. People chat and hang out with friends, but the atmosphere is so chill and relaxing that it simply is background white noise that is surprisingly good at getting you *in the zone* for work. There's a good mix of customers, but since the space is designed for a lot of people, it never feels crowded or noisy or busy. The barista is pretty fast and the quality is great. 10/10 experience. I plan on frequenting this place much, much more in the future. read more

No wifi until 3? Okay it's because they have a lunch service and don't want tables to be kept up by people studying, okay sure I guess...? But then they send to the workspace....? Never heard of that. Across the street we make it and there is fully construction happening behind a thin sheet and no music btw. That is not a workspace, the tables weren't even set up, we had to roll our table out from a corner and set up our chairs. Which by the way, still haven't been able to connect to wifi. Also their drinks are sugar water, so so sweet and we asked for half sweet and still overwhelming. We asked to fix it and got a shot of espresso just poured straight on top of the iced churro latte as the remedy? Drink tastes pretty sour now. Really disappointed by the experience, MG used to be cool. ALSO.... Valet parking at a coffee shop????? No street parking btw, had to park at Alfredo's restaurant and walk over, which is easy but valet really?? It's free but obviously you have to tip, already paid 8 dollars for a coffee. Dropped in on a cold (for CA standards) morning and had a hot Churro Latte and Ham + Cheese Croissant while doing some work. The latte was alright, it was cute but nothing mind blowing. Ham and Cheese Croissant ratios weren't great it was mostly croissant and not a lot of ham or cheese. I visit Moon Goat quite frequently and decided to stop in today for my go-to churro latte. I think I unfortunately will not be coming back. I use to love this place for the drinks and atmosphere. However, after paying for an overpriced $9 drink, I was told that WiFi is no longer free. If you want to use theirs, you have to go to the building next door. Walking across a parking lot, while trying to balance a hot drink in my hand along with my book bag and looking out for incoming and outgoing cars is not a good customer experience. The WiFi is also really spotty. I don't understand this decision to divert customers to another building. You're a coffee shop, and there are hundreds of other businesses in OC with by far lower prices. I guess I will be going elsewhere from now on. read more
