What I got : Cardamom Orange Latte : 3/5 Butter Croissant :4/5 I felt like the latte had a strong cardamom flavor but was missing the orange. I feel like there was an acidity at the end of the coffee though. But i'm not sure if that was because of a coffee or because of the orange. Croissant was good, better than a Costco croissant so I guess it was worth the price? I don't know lol Me and my friends came in at 1pm, they ran out of pour overs! Also, the way that they have the entrance set up kind of annoys me because it's like the line to go in blocks the entrance because one doors used for exit the other ones used for entrance. We've been following their farmers market pop up for some time now and thrilled to see their new storefront! We came for their first day of soft opening and a few different times since and each visit has been wonderful! The staff are all so friendly and it's very clear that Ming & Mabel are dedicated to their work. This is one of the few places to have a pour over bar where you can sit and chat with the barista as they make your drinks. They roast their own coffee in house and their pour overs tend to be nice and fruity. Menu is always changing as they experiment and we love trying out their new offerings. My husband will usually get a pour over and I'll grab a matcha latte or another espresso drink. The flavors are great and not too sweet, which is nice. I'd also recommend the everything stuffed croissant! They even warm it up for you- which makes a night and day difference! Ambiance is modern and thoughtfully decorated with live coffee plants, coffee themed equipment, noise dampeners, and ample seating with a nice view of their roasting set up. While this is a bit farther from us in Sunnyvale - we think it's worth the drive and will be back often! read more

This is a coffee nerds paradise. As a home coffee enthusiast, this place is very legit. Everything was GREAT. We ordered a winter marzapan latte, a couple of pastries and had a little taste testing at the pour over station. I was really impressed with the melon flavored pour over, I ended up leaving with a bag of that light roast :) The cafe is a bit loud, rightfully so b/c they're busy. One of my good friends brought me here, claiming it was one of her new favorite coffee shops in the area, and I was not at all dissapointed! Before visiting, she filled me in on their backstory - how they started as a stand at farmers markets, where her sister would visit everytime, and finally decided to open their own storefront, where she was now a regular. There were so many different drink options that intruigued me, from their new melon pour over, to their unique latter combinations, but I finally decided on their cardamom orange latte. It was absolutely bursting with flavor, with bold citrusy and woody flavors. It was unlike any latte I had every tried before, and I really enjoyed it. It definetly was not sweet - it was much more of a spiced citrus, so keep that in mind if you prefer the orange creamsicle type of orange flavor. Inside was really crowded on a Monday afternoon - we were able to find a place to sit and talk, but I wouldn't reccomend going it expecting to find a table open. It isn't be my ideal study environment, but that is a much more personal preference, and if you prefer some background noise while you work, Moonwake is great for that. We had no issue with parking either, so on the whole I really ejoyed our visit. The food was delicious (they often run out of the tiramisu part way through the day, but I highly reccomend trying it!), the drinks amazing, and the baristas very sweet. The interior design is beautiful, the pour over cups behind the counter is very appealing too and it shows they're focused on their craft! At the back of the coffee shop is a transparent window where you can watch them process and weigh their coffee beans. They source some top notch coffee beans which may be important to a lot of coffee enthusiasts. Their menu may be small, but I'm guessing it's to emphasize quality. I ordered their seasonal iced spiced squash latte which tasted amazing. I should've ordered it hot because I enjoyed every little sip of it. I didn't like the iced milo mocha that much because the milo was subtle and I could hardly taste it. Overall there's plenty of parking, but I heard it gets hella busy in the morning. The reception is good, but they also provide you with free Wi-Fi! I'll come back to try their pastries, I haven't had the chance to try them as they were sold out (I came around 2pm). read more

Great place to WFH if you come before the morning rush - limited amount of outlets so come with your appliances fully charged. Wifi is good/standard, can be kind of slow at times - but otherwise, reliable. There's plenty of seating, mostly for pairs - so if you're a group, come early to grab a couple of spots. There is an available restroom in the back for customers. I got the Fall Squash Spiced Latte with Almond Milk (alternative milk was an additional 50¢ - for oat/almond), and while I enjoyed the coffee taste, it wasn't my favorite drink. The butter croissant was warmed up, perfectly buttery and flaky. Both were a bit overpriced, in particular the drink (for the amount you get), however if you're spending a good extended amount of time at the cafe shop, I can see how it's worth it. My friends also got their Cardamon latte (iced and cold), but we weren't a fan either. The shop itself is in a small plaza, with ample parking. The place is really nice and the service is GREAT. Went on a Friday morning 9:45am, plenty of parking but boy was it packed. Waited around 8 minutes in line and had to order to-go since I wasn't sure if I can get a seat. 60% people were working and the other half were there chatting with friends. Luckily, I got the last seat next to a outlet! ** Seating Types ** The café has a cozy and cool ambiance. It smelled of roasted coffee beans. Since it was a busy Friday morning, it was really loud overall. So bring headphones! I liked the diverse types of seating there, there was one in front of the baristas so you can watch as you drink your cup or work on your laptop. There was a long table that could seat 10, the center piece of the store had some seating around it enough for two, and there were tables for groups of 4. In the back it was like a curved console table, one side was large enough for laptop space while the other was to just enjoy your drink and people watch. In the far back was a single seating with small round table and some lounger-type chairs. Before going, I read that the espresso here is more fruity/acidic. I realized I do like more chocolate type of beans for my lattes so when trying the signature drink, the sarsprorilla float, it wasn't really something I would get again. I do think it's very smart to do a play on a root beer float coffee. For the cream I didn't really taste the cheese. I think I would come again if I was in the area and when the crowd kind of dies down. I'm really happy to see more coffee shops opening up, especially with so much seating! After 2020, I've seen many new places limit their seating or make their shops only for take out. read more

Cute little open concept cafe! Perfect for sitting and chatting (tables with 2-3 seats each OR longer tables with bar stools.) There was a good mix of people just catching up and people with their laptops doing work! I got the Milo mocha which was a little bit on the bitter side. Milo is a chocolate flavored malted powder that adds a mild chocolatey flavor to the coffee without overwhelming it. The mushroom tart was delicious with some roasted sesame seeds, mushrooms and cheese melted on top! The puff pastry part of it was nice and flaky too! Additionally, most of the tables are good for 1-2 people, so if you're coming with a group then I suggest beating the morning rush. Other things to note: there's a good amount of natural light coming in and a bathroom at the back of the shop. Coffee: The pour over is flavorful and the descriptors are pinpoint accurate. I enjoyed my coffee here and would definitely visit again to try other drinks/pastries. Service: Staff was very friendly and open to conversation if you're willing to have one! The overall area is very nice, they beautifully decorated the place and looks like a great place to just chat or study. It's nice to see a cafe around the area that's large enough to find seats on a Sunday morning. I got the espresso tonic, an aero- espresso (iced espresso) and two pastries for my brothers - the everything croissant and the pull apart pastry. 3/5 - elderflower espresso tonic - I thought this was a decent espresso tonic, but not the most amazing espresso tonic I've ever had. Nothing very remarkable but not bad either. 2/5 - iced espresso - my dad wasn't very impressed with this one. He said it was too acidic for his liking. 2/5 - everything croissant - my brother wasn't too impressed with this one he said "it was basically a bagel" - nothing remarkable about it. But if you like everything bagels maybe you'd like this. 4/5 - pull a part pastry - my brother really liked this one and ate it all in one go! Will be buying this again for him next time. Really cute new cafe in the area! I got an iced squash spice latte + 25% sweet with almond milk which was a great fall drink. If you enjoy your coffee sweet, I would recommend getting your drink with the +25% sweet so that you could really get that fall flavor. The hot cardamom orange latte was great as well. Amazing space that brightens up the lot! Can tell there was a lot of thought behind the build with the wooden accents, plants, and the really beautiful backlit wall of to-be-filled coffee drippers. Love that you can also see the roasting machines in the back! Hopefully they'll have roasting classes or process tours in the future? As for service, the baristas behind the counter are super knowledgeable on offerings - especially the beans! I was able to try their elderflower espresso tonic and it was exactly what I needed on a hot day. My friends got the Milo mocha and cardamom orange latte and loved the subtle flavors! You can tell they are all about enhancing the coffee flavor which is refreshing to see. Food wise, they are bringing Neighbor Bakehouse (SF) to the South Bay so another plus! Starting this review with a positive: the place is large with a lot of seating and also beautifully decorated to have an open airy feel. The baristas are also really nice at the register and do a great job explaining the menu. Now the reason for the 2 stars is because the drinks/ food is just not good. We ordered the iced Milo mochas and pastries and the Milo mocha tastes nothing like Milo which is a nostalgic kids drink with a distinguishable flavor and this drink didn't even taste chocolatey. Very disappointing when you're expecting a drink to taste as advertised and it comes nowhere close. Secondly the pastry is just so buttery, if I squeezed the pastry lightly you could just see it drip which made every bite feel wet as well. Unfortunately this is just a no for me but seems like a great place to get work done but not a top choice for great coffee/food. read more

Great place to catch up with friends or get some work done! A lot of places aren't necessarily laptop friendly which I completely get because they are trying to foster a sense of community, but it's also nice to have a change of scene when trying to be productive so I appreciate Moon for having great working fengshui. Tons of tables, music wasn't too loud, and the crowd was pretty calm despite there being a line out the door past 10 am (it was a Sunday so makes sense). GET THE MILO MOCHA. I'm Malaysian so this was a no brainer for me but milo is similar to ovaltine so it made for a nice, not too sweet bev that definitely caffeinated me. I also got the mushroom tart, something I've had previously and enjoyed both times. The last time I came I had the cardamom orange latte and that was equally bomb. They take their craft seriously and it's one of my favorite cafes in this part of San Jose. Very conveniently located next to Mitsuwa so you can grab lunch there after. I only come here on weekends because its too far for me to during my workweeks. That alone speaks itself. First time here I tried some of their more eclectic specialty drinks which change seasonally. But after a few visits I scaled things back and tried the aeracano which is espresso frothed in the aerator and poured over ice. No cream, no frills. This drink alone highlights just how balanced their espresso is which is clearly the base of all other espresso based beverages and I drink this alone and be perfectly satisfied. If you are an espresso fan, I personally think no other coffee establishment comes close to the quality and passion Moonwake is bringing. read more

OMG! I am so glad this place is on the opposite side of town because those pastries are dangerously good. Buttery and sweet. I wouldn't have the self control to not stop in and grab one if it was conveniently located to me. My friend and I shared the strawberry guava pastelito, pistachio twice baked berry croissant, and the miso browned butter pumpkin bread. 10/10 no notes, try them for yourself. All amazing. The pumpkin bread was definitely my favorite though. I ordered the fall squash spiced latte and my friend ordered the matcha latte. Both very delicious. Not too sweet. The decor is super cute. Quality coffee and food/pastries. staff is always in a uplifting mood and i usually stop by only in morning, never had an issue with their service and luckily there's never a line when i stop by~but the place is always PM packed :P it's honestly a vibe once you enter this cafe and everyone seems to be content, and full of energy! Came here on a holiday and it was packed. The line was out the door and it was pretty chaotic in the cafe. Everyone was walking around waiting around for an open table/seat. THIS NEW CAFE MIGHT BE MY NEW OBSESSION!! moonwake just had their soft opening this weekend and I was so excited that I was able to swing by to check it out. walking into the beautifully decorated clean, modern space definitely hit me with a positive and energizing vibe. the interior is so spacious with ample seating. some people were working and others were just hanging out. I could definitely see myself in their shoes enjoying this perfect space for a study/work session or chat with some friends in the near future. I think one of the owners, Mabel, helped me out today. she was so friendly and kind while I was deciding what to get. right off the bat the squash spiced latte caught my eye and she explained to me that it was their signature take on a pumpkin spice latte. SOLD!!! I knew I had to try it. they were so accommodating with being able to adjust the sweetness for me as I'm pretty sensitive. Mabel was so nice to make sure to check in with me that the drink was to my liking when it came out. it was perfect! I can't wait for when they'll also have pastries from one of my favorite bakeries, Neighborhood Bakehouse. I had such a great experience this morning/afternoon. I stopped by here to wait for my parents. It's in a small neighborhood strip mall. So, I didn't think it was going to be busy on a Thursday mid-morning. I was wrong. All the inside seats were taken. I was lucky enough to get a table outside. It seems to be a popular place for meeting with friends. They are pretty busy. It took awhile for them to take my order even though there was no one ahead of me. But my order came out fairly fast. I ordered iced decaf americano and tiramisu to go. The decaf americano is punched with flavor. I would say that it's a medium roast since it's a little bit acidic. But the aftertaste is very aromatic. Quite enjoyable. Tiramisu is lovely. Our first time trying this wonderful new coffee shop on Saratoga Avenue. The setting is modern and has a great vibe, was packed with people when we arrived there midday on a Saturday. We ordered an Americano and a latte along with savory and sweet rolls. It was a little packed and difficult to find a seat right away, but we were able to manage and find a table within five minutes. The coffee was perfectly prepared, and the beans were definitely high quality. The rolls were extremely tasty and we will try different ones in future. read more

one of my favorite coffee shops in the bay, especially for working! the space is pretty big with a ton of seating, chargers, wifi, and a nice bathroom. they're well known for the coffee blends they roast in house i think? the attention to detail & quality is really amazing with their beverages and i know they also have pastries from neighbor bakehouse in sf, which are really solid. parking is usually easy in the plaza and the baristas are all very friendly & helpful! i've tried the orange cardamom latte, regular iced latte, and cortado (usually with oat or almond milk). the orange cardamom is definitely unique - i love the flavor pairings but im personally not a big fruit + coffee person... their espresso based beverages are all amazing though just because of the quality! im not an expert but the way the espresso is pulled + their drink ratios ... fire... i also like their cortado, the microfoam is always insane even with non dairy milk! and the iced latte is pretty solid. read more
