The Details: My friend and I heard good things and wanted to check this place out. The space is very inviting, modern and welcoming. They make a decent latte and sell tasty pastries, and they also have artisanal pour over offerings and I tried one, but I think the flavor was a bit too nuanced for me. If it was down to all of these factors it'd still be a good local coffee shop, but what really impressed me was one of the co-owners, Mabel, walked us through their processes, shared their recipes, and even pulled a complimentary espresso shot of their signature roast, which was remarkably delicious for just a shot with nothing else added. Came on a Saturday morning around 9:30am and it was about a 10 min wait before we were able to order. We saw the line getting longer as time went on so recommend coming earlier. The interior is nicely decorated and has a great ambience for studying or catching up with friends. It has tables and seats inside and outside but spots fill up quickly. It's also pet friendly! Cute room, barista coffee bar seating, buzzy line out the door, aggressively accommodating of single occupancy laptop dwellers (I'm all for it). Compares favorably with CoRo Coffee Room in Berkeley, but I like Moonwake beans more. I got a mocha, it was delicious. I also ended up with a chocolate banana bread loaf, which was fine but not special. But I gotta knock down the review numbers because half the menu was "sold out" at 2pm on a Saturday -- specialty drinks and baked goods. I just can't abide. I visited this place with a friend and I really loved it from the beginning. The inside looks very clean and I love the design with plants. I ordered the hot vanilla latte and a chocolate croissant. I believe my friend ordered a cardamom orange latte (i could be wrong) and a savory pastry. My drink was good. It was not too sweet, which is good. Came here for the first time this past weekend and this place did not disappoint. It is probably one of the best! Line was out the door but moved fast. I ordered the winter marzipan latte and LOVED it! got the banana sesame bread toast which was also delish. I want to try the pistachio croissant next and the cardamom orange latte. I'm going to be honest, I came to this place because of TikTok. Upon entering, it was super busy where the lines were out the door. Theres some seating outside but definitely lots of seating inside. I will say coming on a weekend around 12pm, all the seats were taken and the atmosphere was super loud. For those who are looking for a place to study, this place is good but limited outlets. It seemed like the outlets were more on the far left side near the walls. They offered a variety of coffee and pastries which is cool. My husband tried the cardamom orange latte and he said it was delicious. The drink itself reminded him of like a Philz drink where it was really creamy and sweet. I tried the vanilla latte and it was good. The vanilla wasn't a strong taste so it tasted more like a regular latte. Hot new coffee place in the bay! On weekends, definitely come early or there will be a crowd and likely no seating (unless you stalk someone til they leave). Their coffee is delicious and they have lovely seasonal flavors, but their stuff is definitely pricey. There's no real "food" here, but they have an assortment of pastries - both sweet and savory. Every pastry we tried so far was tasty and we enjoyed them all, but the mushroom tart really wowed me since mushroom can be a pretty strong flavor, but it was just enough savory to bread ratio and very filling. Definitely recommend this one, as well as the savory pull apart bread -- both very tasty. I personally prefer savory pastries to sweet, but the strawberry guava pastelito, honey financier, and pistachio berry croissant were also solid. I've tried a few of the lattes now and they were all tasty, but not too strong of a coffee flavor for the price, so opt for their pour overs if you want just coffee. Overall, Moonwake is a lovely and clean hangout spot for coffee but I definitely wouldn't come here to wait in a line that was more than 5-10 minutes long. I also really liked their straight teas, I had the Nantou oolong (sourced from Song's Tea). They served the tea perfectly brewed into a glass cup. I wish they served the tea in a teapot though. The cafe is serenely decorated with plants, a teapot shared between friends would've hit the spot. Moonwake is a new coffee spot I checked out. I loved the service and ambience; however the price for the pour over was expensive($14). They had also run out of their "gesha" option, which I went there for. The prices for lattes was much more reasonable. The orange cardamom latte my daughter got was good - the negatives were that it was a little too sweet and lukewarm. I have been so excited to try this new cafe and I definitely think it's worth checking out. We got 2 iced matcha lattes, a savory pull apart bread, and an everything croissant. I'm familiar with these pastries since a couple other cafes have the same food vendor but that just means I know it's delicious! The space is a decent size but it can get crowded so finding seating can be difficult. We got lucky and found a table when another group left after placing our order. I got the light roast and dark roast espresso and a kids hot coco. The light roast was really good. Fruit forward, I tasted some citrus, not much acidity. The dark roast however, was a little disappointing and burnt throughout. I could taste some potential for dark chocolate notes but the burnt taste was overpowering. Moonwake roasts their own coffee beans as the name suggests and also sells baked goods from Neighbor Bakehouse. For my first time here, I tried their Iced Corn Latte and the Mushroom Tart/croissant. I personally would've liked a bit more corn flavor in the drink, but you definitely do taste a bit of it after mixing thoroughly and eating a kernel with every sip. It paired well with the crispy mushroom tart and left me wanting even more. While the lines may be long, it does move pretty fast and there is plenty of seating inside! I really loved this place. I came in today to get some work done and the ambiance is beautiful. The owners did a great job establishing this space. Everything about it is perfect. I tried their seasonal latte, it was a winter marzipan latte and it was great! I would definitely recommend trying it hot. I also got their potato curry croissant and that was delicious as well. I visited Moonwake during soft opening & both times I've gone, the service was amazing! The baristas were nice and welcoming, and gave different drink recommendations that were great! I wanted to write this review after soft opening ended--both times I ordered the matcha latte, but the taste had completely changed for me. Not too sure if it was because of different preparations or new workers, but because I was expecting the same quality from soft opening, I didn't expect what the current matcha latte looked or tasted like! I also wanted to note that I ordered in for my second time around and out (take away cup) during soft opening. I think the matcha ratio was stronger during soft opening, which I loved! I could really taste the matcha flavor with just a little hint of sweetness, which was perfect for me! The color was also great & the picture below reflects that. However the second time I ordered this, the color was a bit more yellow than expected in comparison to my first time. I noticed that the matcha preparation was done in a bottle rather than hand whisked, which is just something to keep in mind if hand whisked is something you expected. I definitely understand the store was super popular and busy in the mornings, so I totally get the prep work. Personally I would rather wait a couple more minutes for my drinks to have the same quality & consistency as it did during soft opening. Super cute space with beautiful interior design! Love the display shelf of different v60 setups behind the counter. This is a great place to catch up with friends, a first date, or getting some work done. Got the fall squash latte and my mom got the lager typica (peach notes!). Also tried the mushroom tart (think savory danish). Employees are super respectful, friendly, and accommodating. After a lot of reading about Moonwake I finally got a bag. While expensive: $25 for 8 oz, the granja paraiso 92 lager typica is an outstanding bag of coffee. The grind alone is an experience, the whole kitchen smelled like peach rings. The ground coffee is a perfectly light roasted bright golden brown. In the cup the peach candy keeps coming, it's like drinking peach juice in coffee form. While I can't splurge for it often, and wish they gave larger discounts on their 5lb bags, Moonwake is an excellent coffee roaster and their price is in line with their competitors like Black and White and Onyx (which are also Black Friday sale coffees, well done. read more

Very cute cafe with a decent amount of seating and a modern and plant filled interior! Was packed with people chatting/working on a Sunday afternoon. Private parking lot so parking isn't bad. Personally I don't love that their coffees are acidic. For a latte I want the milk and espresso to blend well and I didn't feel that it did. And the pricing is definitely steep for a small cup ($7) and $1 for any additional syrups added?! I tried their corn latte at their popup in the De Anza farmers market and also felt that it was way too acidic and the flavors of corn were lacking. The interior is relatively spacious and has a variety of different seating options/work spaces. It feels very hip hahaha! My drink also came out very fast despite the place seeming so busy. I ordered the seasonal squash spiced latte. Basically their take on a pumpkin spiced latte but with butternut squash i guess. I got it iced and with oat milk. The flavor was great and I love the creativity of butternut squash puree in a latte. Such earthy flavors and not overly sweetened. However I think the only downside is the drink just seemed so expensive for how much there was. I know I got oat milk and that does always add to the price, but wow I think this was a strong reminder of how expensive coffee has become... Paying over $7 for a latte is insane - even specialty :( But again, I know it's just normalized now and it really is a nice space and a good drink so I may come back to try other seasonal drinks eventually. read more

I believe it arrives every Tuesday, so be there by Friday before it's completely sold out -- or just purchase online to reserve your bag. They have a good selection of sweet and savory pastries. We ordered for dine in and of course there was nice latte art but the coffee was a perfect temperature where it warmed your belly but didn't burn your throat going down.
