Visited on a Sunday afternoon. The line was out the door but the owners and staff were working so hard that the wait wasn't bad at all. I tried the blackberry toasted coconut latte and an iced latte. The blackberry one had beautiful latte art but the flavor was barely there and I could only catch a tiny hint of it. The iced latte was bold and strong. It's perfect for a hot day! Cafes like this are rare in this area. Will definitely be back!

I am not too much of a fan of their drinks, but the vibe and service made up for it. The young tech company feel. Sharp and friendly workers. For the iced latte, shouldn't the milk go in after the espresso? Since it was the other way, the espresso was mainly on top and needed to be stirred. Seeing the workers, I know this part is thought out so just asking. Blackberry latte had a hint of blackberry which was nice. Not overwhelming. There is no waiting area after you order. You just kind of stand around somewhere in the store while you dodge people. Will definitely be back to try other items.

Came here with a friend in the late afternoon to catch up 2 hours before closing. The store was PACKED. There was a mix of people studying, working, and chatting with friends; it's a very lively community spot. Despite how chaotic it was, the space was generally clean and the service was great. The cashier made sure to get our names and address us by them. The decor is beautiful, feeling intentionally designed. I thought it was really cool that they have a slow coffee bar area specifically for pour overs (I think) where tech isn't allowed, so people are just supposed to sit and enjoy their coffee. I've never seen that before in a coffee shop. The menu is extensive. Since it was later in the day, the baked goods were half off, which was a nice surprise. I got a blueberry latte and an Asian fusion focaccia bread. Blueberry latte - I liked this! The blueberry flavor was subtle and not overly sweet or artificial tasting. It added a light fruity note to the coffee without overpowering it. Fusion focaccia bread - This was tasty, but I felt the original price was steep ($12). My piece was around 6" x 3". The shiitake mushroom flavor was strong and I loved the addition of scallions and Chinese sausage sprinkled throughout the bread. Overall, this is such a cool addition to coffee culture in the South Bay. It feels like shop from a big city like SF, NYC, or Chicago instead of little ol' SJ. The ambiance and options are solid, and it has a vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. You can be a casual coffee drinker or a coffee snob and it will be a satisfying experience.

There was a line when I went, but the food/drinks rolled out in a timely manner. Solid spot for coffee and unique fusion pastries! - BlackBerry toasted coconut latte hot : Not my fav combo. Taste like sour coffee with coconut shavings. - Cardamom orange latte hot: Surprisingly good like a creamy orange coffee. - Egg sando: I like the added trout caviar, adds a nice pop of color and flavor. - Shio pan: Very good crispy outside and soft inside. I will say the black salt on the top was a lil strong. I didn't realize and took one huge bite of salt and ended up having to scrape some off the rest of the bread - Gochujang corn cheese scallion focaccia: Very big, generous slice. I would like more corn cheese throughout the bread. Good service, nice space with seating, but can get busy. Please do clean up after yourself if you decided to sit.

I tried the Milo Mocha, which was delicious ! The place is a nice cozy spot with quick service and long lines at times. Will come here to try more. The food offerings looked good. But some of the items were sold out when I went (Sunday 11am)

Oh my gosh - this place is phenomenal. Awesome coffee - rich, tasty beverages that pair well either pastry offerings. Ask for a recommendation. You can't go wrong. Spent two hours here enjoying my vanilla bean latte with oat milk (no upcharge for alternative milk) and a pineapple puff pastry. Thank you for a beautiful morning yesterday; looking forward to my next adventure here! No teenagers here which is a huge plus for enjoying a lazy morning over an excellent cup of coffee, nice conversation and comfortable seats. Alternatively, if you're here to work on your laptop for work or school...this might be a good spot :-) This cafe deserves a 10 - it's that good because of its impeccable service, lovely ambiance and awesome food. Think Japanese coffee culture and here is Moonwake Roasters!

Day Visited: Saturday @ 12:15 PM Price Range: $$ Parking: Parking lot (small, so get here early enough to get a good parking spot) Ordered: BlackBerry Toasted Coconut Latte & Washed Sidra Pour Over with a Shio Pan The overall ambiance is definitely a clean, modern aesthetic where the focus on elevated drinks and experience definitely shines. The two drinks we got are perfectly balanced, with the blackberry milk perfectly blending with the toasted coconut and the espresso adding a warm depth to the drink. The iced sidra pour over complimented well the fruit and floral notes of the coffee, with the peach and strawberry shining through with each sip. The line to this place definitely gets long, so show up and be prepared to wait for some good coffee!

One of our friends from solidcore suggested visiting Moonwake coffee roasters. She highly recommended to get there early because there could be a line out the door. Luckily, we were able to wait short enough time to not only get some bites to eat but also find a seat in their café as well. Plenty of places to sit inside and outside as well.

I ordered the Iced marzipan latte Iced Matcha latte the marzipan latte had fun red dried toppings and the latte had good espresso and the marzipan itself wasn't as strong. It blended into a nice drink although I'd like to try their regular iced latte next time. Matcha latte wasn't anything special and it came more watered down than strong. The ambiance however was very fresh and modern. I enjoyed the sit down vibe and how you could work or chill there.

Pretty place, I liked the inside. And workers were nice too. We got two lattes and two pastries. The lattes were Matcha and Milo Mocha. My fav was the two pastries over the drinks. The turnover was sweet and good. The savory pull apart bread was also yum. Both drinks were on the bitter side though. I think for the price I rather get coffee elsewhere but after adding some sugar, it tasted better. Inside was busy. Private lot in front

My daughter treated me to coffee and snacks here this morning and it was great! I am normally a "burnt offerings" kind of coffee guy (think, Peet's dark roast) but I have to admit there is merit to being able to taste subtlety in your drink and that is what this place is all about. We had pour overs (speedy), a banana toast with black sesame spread under the bananas, and a Japanese croissant-like pastry called a "shioko-pan". Pastries were great! They have a large selection. We thought both of our choices were excellent. The selection of pour overs changes all the time. It is like wine tasting - they give you a lot of descriptions and there is a pre-purchase decision tasting station that has small paper cups and small pitchers of sample coffee to help you figure out what you want. In addition, they have more normally priced espresso drinks, including Americano, that span the gamut of froth, milk, no-milk, etc. Real barista stuff, including artwork. I am lactose intolerant, so we went with the pour overs The pour over selections were complex in flavor. They are more lightly roasted and carefully brewed than I am used to. Lots of fruity notes and other things happening. I would write more about my selection, but since they turn them over all the time, you will just need to evaluate what is happening that day. They have complete information on sourcing, tasting notes, etc. All really top shelf as an experience. In fact, if you are out just looking for a caffeine and bounce, this is not the place for that. It's really a nice place to just chat and sip. They have some noise treatments on the walls and ceiling to keep it from being crazy noisy. It's not the library, but you can carry on a conversation, which is a nice change. So, our outing probably cost as much as lunch somewhere but it was really fun. The barista who did the pour over was super precise and answered by questions about what he was doing. You should see the ritual - it's all got purpose. There is careful temperature control, modulated sprinkling of the hot water over the grounds, etc. It felt sort of of "Japanese teahouse" in a way. Anyways, great experience, great food, nice coffee!

Solid place for unique coffee flavors and good bites. We had a latte, and a cold brew of their featured coffee. Food was all simple but on point. High tech roasting is pretty cool. Coffee sampling was a very nice added touch. Service is fast and organized and courteous.

Great coffee. Place is decked with real greens. Very chill vibe. Lot of different seatings, inside & outside. They stop serving in ceramicware at 4pm, so we got coffee in togo cups as we reached there late. Happy with the coffee and also with the friendly staff.

Ever since I went to Japan last year, I crave delicious yakitori from a charcoal grill in the Bay Area and always seek out new places to try. I finally tried Okibiyaki-Kikuchi as a yakitori pop-up at ShaKa brewing after eyeing it for a long time. The grilled meat skewers were so delicious and enjoyable to eat with a cold beer flight from ShaKa brewing. The chef is a master of yakitori. I tried hatsu, kalbi, shishito, kimo, and bara tama. I can describe a perfect night like this. A perfect night included skewers from the live ember grill by the master chef and a beer flight. The flavors are legit-- the process of preparing the meat is impressive, and the technique with the charcoal grill brings out the best flavors. The Bay Area is treated to authentic flavors like in Japan. It is recommended that should arrive to the pop-up early as they ran out of the chicken skewers. I will absolutely order the chicken skin and thigh again and again. I also tried his pop up at Clandestine Brewery as well. The quality is so consistent and delicious. I like the vibe of eating like in a picnic style outdoors with a cold glass of beer. Nothing beats that for me. Follow @okibiyaki_kikuchi on IG to see where he pops up next.

After our first visit last night, I think it's safe to say it is probably the best Happy Hour offering in the SF South Bay. Good quality, good value, great service and nice club/lounge ambiance. Here's what we shared food-wise... * HH Garlic Noodles -- This didn't quite meet my expectation. Described as a "perfectly cooked pasta tossed in rich garlic butter", what we got was more like a soft udon type noodle with a rather starchy garlic sauce. The taste was definitely very garlicky, but the dish could have been much better with an al dente pasta tossed in an actual garlic butter or olive oil. * HH Wagyu Smash Burger -- This was yum! Great flavor, nicely grilled served on a toasted soft brioche bun. ($15 on HH versus $32 witha side of fries on the Dinner Menu :o) * HH Hamachi Crudo -- This was superb! Fresh generous slices of yellowtail topped with sliced lemon, jalapeno, tobiko and microgreens, perfectly matched with Ponzu sauce. ($12 on HH for 4 pieces versus $23 for 5 pieces on the Dinner menu) * HH Crab Cakes -- 2 medium sized blue crab cakes with diced mango and spicy aioli. Pretty decent for $14. * HH Crispy Brussels Sprouts -- Good standard fare. For drinks, we enjoyed... * HH Weather Pinot Noir -- Our server, Mikayla, said it was her favorite wine on the HH menu. It was very nice. * HH Mango Deck -- Reposado, Jalapeno syrup, lime and mango puree with a 151 rum flambee. Great drink if you like sweet, sour and spicy... and it comes with a show as the 151 rum is lit. Will definitely return. Would love to try the HH Grand Seafood Tower with oysters, yellowtail and salmon sashimi, shrimp and lobster ($65 on HH) which we saw another table order. Looks like a great place for a larger party celebration too.

I know this is the Bay Area, but I'm not about to drop $100+ per piece at a DTC brand without seeing it in person first. (My mom dressed me in clearance JCPenney and hand-me-downs as a kid.) I've been inside this specific store twice and the one in SF once. The day I made my purchase was a weekend, whereas my other two visits were on weekdays. On weekdays, the store is pretty much empty. I think for shopping in store at Sezane, that is the preference. My biggest peeve with both the SF and SJ stores (and I assume this is a feature of all their stores) is the cubby wall. They could have put multiple racks in that space, but instead they have a massive wall of cubbies with a different style in each cubby. They're all folded, and I was told you need to point out an item and have the employee take it out to show it to you. The same employee then has to find your size and refold and put back what was taken out. This is literally the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a clothing store. What if I want to see every single piece? How do I even know what the fabric feels like, or if it's sleeveless, or if it's a sweater? You don't, unless you've memorized the Sezane online catalog and know exactly what you're looking for. I could just feel the employee's annoyance every time I asked to see a new style. I would have LOVED to browse more, but the store was very busy, and I didn't want to be a burden. On the weekend day I finally bought something, there was one cashier and there was a line rapidly building behind me as there was a customer who had some sort of involved issue. There was no backup cashier called (not sure they have that capability), and we all just had to wait. I also really wanted to see some dresses in person, but they barely had any - maybe 3 or 4 styles whereas they have a lot online! A simple sandwich order at 9:20 is not ready until 9:45. Lesson learned, come at opening time and order all at once. Cortado & latte, 5/5. Hot, smooth, strong. Orchid acai bowl ($14, sub in mango for mulberry, add coconut dust): 5/5. so good. Palmetto superfoods is my go-to in the SJ area for acai bowls, this was better despite not as many topping options. Their bases are smoother and creamier, no ice crystals here. Also liked that the fruit was chopped smaller. BAE sandwich ($12): 4/5. good, but definitely not worth a 25 min wait. Textures, freshness were great, but it was missing salt/pepper & spices. The sauce helped, but still underwhelming given how good it looks. Recommend having salt & pepper packets & a bottle of hot sauce available to customers. Cinnamon roll ($5.75): as a cinnamon roll, 3/5. As a morning bun type thing, 4.5/5. This is a case of mistaken identity. It's got a slight crunch, light sweetness, fluffy (not dense). When I order a cinnamon roll, I'm more expecting decadent dessert-for-breakfast laden with sugar & butter, yknow?
