So so pumped that I scored us a reservation on our weekend trip! Morandi was so much more than I expected. First of all, it's stunning inside. The old brick and the oil wall are beautiful. It was very clean for being a super busy NYC restaurant. Our service was great, proactive and efficient! Our meals also wonderful: I had the lemon spaghetti which was absolutely delish! The perfect amount of lemon without being tart. The hand rolled noodles were perfect! Our friends had the tagliatelle bolognese and the ravioli. Every dish was packed with flavor. We absolutely loved it! They brought out an adorable ice cream cup for my girlfriend's birthday, we were celebrating! It was the perfect night! Thank you Morandi! Bravo!

Great place and the waiter Javi was an excellent server. It definitely gets busy here so make your reservation! Food was great and drinks were ever better.

5/5 for service/ location and 3/5 for food and ambience. We went on a Saturday night. Heads up it was incredibly loud & our table was a bit too snug against the other ones causing a server to accidentally hit it and move it a foot in one direction. Not ideal, but space is limited. Both of us really enjoyed the eggplant and that was by far the best dish. Unfortunately, the pasta lacked flavor and itself was a combination of overcooked and undercooked? Hard to do. Javier (our wonderful server) noticed that we had left most of the pasta. Unprompted he told us that it was new to the menu and immediately offered to bring us something else. Appreciate you! Bc of that, I would definitely be willing to come back and give the other dishes a try.

What a cute little Italian spot in the east village! The service here was on point and they kept my wine glass full. Enjoyed the vermintino wine! The food was decent - the carbonara was my fave dish (we had a family style meal) and the dessert was good as well. Will try to stop in again on my next work trip.

This would be a 3.5 for me. I had high hopes for Morandi but I was a little disappointed. The food is good--but for the price, I feel I should be a bit more blown away. Everything tasted fine -- except the breakfast sausage was a bit odd. It was marketed as chicken breakfast sausage but definitely tasted like chicken apple sausage. Plus the texture was a bit odd. The service was overall pretty good -- very kind staff. But, our server did forget to put in our appetizer and we never recieved it. The vibe of the restaurant feels upscale but not pretentious. Overall, it was a fine experience but I I'm not sure how often I would return.

Pretty solid place for Italian food. I ate my entrée so quickly. I didn't even have the chance I remember to take a photo. the appetizers were definitely delicious. We got the fried calamari shrimp and fish. And the Crudo. Both were delicious not lacking flavor. Our waitress was amazing, she let us know all of her recommendations and the specials for tonight, and made sure glass remained filled the entire night.

I came here with some of my coworkers for lunch. I had the octopus, which was grilled and served with a pea purée. The octopus itself was cooked really well, but I thought the components of the dish were all a bit random. My coworker and I also split the torta torinese for dessert, which was very rich, but good. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful and the service was good, but I didn't think the food was special enough to warrant the relatively high prices.

Cute spot in the West Village! 3 out of the 4 of us got the Bolognese and it was fantastic! The cacio e Pepe was decent. Octopus was delicious!! The focaccia with prosciutto was good as well. And honestly the free bread and oil was outstanding! Service was fantastic and would definitely recommend!

The ambiance was good (very homey Italian), service was good, but I got a frankly terrible cut of steak. The pieces that weren't gristle were really good, but that was maybe half of the $50 steak. And this was only after I had to send it back once because it was served nearly raw the first time. Otherwise, the rest of the table really enjoyed their meals. Bolognese was "wonderful". Another at our table had an off-menu Spaghetti + Meatballs that he really enjoyed. The tomatoes on the Burrata dish (pictured) were REALLY fresh.

Soooo, my friend had her birthday here last week. She was excited to indulge in some quality, authentic Italian food, and quite frankly, so was I! I've never been before, so was excited slash nervous because, well, I've had "Italian" food from "Italian" restaurants where the food was less than mid, sadly. So when it's a place I haven't been, I have my guards fully up! I arrived for my friend's birthday gathering, and it was such a lovely setting. This place is great for group dinners! Lovely atmosphere, decor, and the staff is wonderful! Everyone was so accommodating and friendly! Our waitress was great! She was so knowledgeable of the menu, and made some great recommendations! I needed a boost in energy and so I ordered an espresso martini, which turned out to be delicious! They are not easy to make and believe me, I've had some bad ones. This one was perfect! For my starter, I had these puff pastry things that had prosciutto on them. They were stuffed with cheese, and honestly, I could've eaten a dozen of them, they were so.good! Chef's kiss! Our waitress also brought out some bread and olive oil, which is always one of my favorite parts of Italian restaurants lol. I was pretty hungry, so I needed that bread lol! For my entree, I really wanted some good, housemade spaghetti, so I ordered that with bolognese. Once it was served, the waiter came and grated some fresh Parmesan cheese over it, and it truly just made me so happy. This was authentic Italian food at its finest, and my friend couldn't have been more happy! She loved her food as well! I need to get back here ASAP because I need a round 2! I highly recommend! You will not be disappointed!

Even if we wouldn't have gotten a window table and it wasn't Christmas, the vibes and interior of this place would have still been great. We went in December night of 2024 so some aspects of the menu have changed however, most of the dishes still appear to be on their menu as of now, June 2026. It appears most changes comes to the type of pasta used in a dish, aspects around a dishes main focus and gelato/dessert flavors. Everything we ordered was an 8 or above out of 10. The beet salad (BARBABIETOLE) is easily 10/10 and a top 3 salad we have ever had. The chocolate cake with gelato (TORTINO DI CIOCCOLATO) was 10/10 and the best dessert we had at Da Andrea. We ordered 3 total, including the ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. Tuna Tartare, gorgonzola pasta and bolognese are 9's. The fritto misto, the other pasta we ordered and the other 2 desserts are 8's. If you're in New York make reservations and go. My Wife found this place and made reservations. Only thing I regret after looking at additional photos is not ordering the grilled pork chop.

Baba Al Rum was also tasty, as was the Orecchiette. Rigatoni was salty, but well-flavored. I visited a popular Italian restaurant from the Union Square Hospitality group with a group of five others. The restaurant is quite large, and although it was somewhat noisy, the tables were spaced apart enough that it was easy to hear everyone. We had an early dinner at 5:45 PM, which took quite a while, but I didn't mind. To drink, I went with the Bitter Giuseppe for $19, with Cynar 45.3, Punt e Mes, lemon, and sea salt. I'm a fan of most Negronis, and this was a particularly bitter version. The bit of lemon and sea salt added a unique but enjoyable flavor at the end, though in retrospect, the salt probably wasn't super necessary. Two of us split, and eventually, a few of us ordered their signature appetizer, the $18 Cast Iron Focaccia, with tomato conserva, a mixture of crushed tomatoes, olive oil, and Calabrian chili. The bread was fresh and warm, albeit a tad oily and salty, but it paired wonderfully with the conserva. As someone who doesn't like it when bread is extra, this was delicious and worth it. Another person ordered the $18 Insalata Verde. It was very large, but fairly basic, with a vinaigrette that had a citrusy and mustardy flavor. There was also the Caramelized Onion Torta for $27, which was very large, as expected for the price point. It had a creamy and tangy flavor from the Pecorino Toscano with some sweetness from the onion. It was delicious, but very heavy, and I would recommend that around three or four people split it alongside the focaccia. Finally, there was also the $15 Pizza Bianca, which was easily the smallest of all the plates, but they still enjoyed it. My main dish was the Orecchiette for $26, with ramps, pistachio, and pecorino. Like most of their dishes, the portion size was quite large, with plenty of pasta, which was perfectly cooked. The ramps added a touch of sweetness, although I would have liked a few more nuts. Additionally, there was almost too much pecorino, which made the dish slightly salty, but it was still enjoyable. As a side, I got the $19 Grilled Asparagus with dates, vermouth, and blue cheese, which came with many pieces of lightly charred asparagus. While there was plenty of funky blue cheese, I would have preferred more dates. Two of the others got the Rigatoni Alla Gricia for $30. The portion was large, and I tried a bit while they tried mine. The noodles were again cooked perfectly, and while there was a lot of guanciale, this was easily the saltiest of all the dishes. For dessert, I chose their Baba AU Rum for $18, which was uniquely mixed with chocolate and orange. The presentation was a bit off, as it looked like a certain emoji, but the flavor made up for it. The subtle hint of rum paired with the bitter-sweet chocolate and orange. The dark chocolate-covered orange slice on top was a nice touch as well. Someone else got a tart, and one other person got the Gelati, which resulted in one of the only faults during service. She heard it was two scoops, and ordered espresso stracciatella and hazelnut, but was given two separate orders for $12 each. The gelato was good, but unlike most things, definitely not worth it for the price. I liked the appetizers much more, but I found the food good overall. Tasty dessert, and the portions make up at least a bit for the relatively higher prices.

We were also touched by the complimentary anniversary scoop of ice cream. The interior seating is a bit snug, but the decor is beautiful--elegant yet homey. The service was good as well. Overall, we highly recommend L'Artusi for a special night out!

L'Artusi has been on my radar for a while, ever since I heard it was a hot spot and saw reviews of…read moreit being one of the best Italian restaurants in NYC. Being Italian American, I'm hypercritical of spots like these - but nevertheless the positive reviews were overwhelming so I wanted to check it out for myself. One of my friends and I were looking to catch up, so I booked a table and off we went. While it can be tricky to get a reservation during prime dinner time, it's relatively easy to get a lunch reservation - or an early/late dinner. I managed to get a reservation for dinner at 9:15pm which was the earliest I could find. The restaurant is pretty unassuming on the outside - it looks like a converted brownstone and once inside we were greeted by a large space with a sceney vibe. The space is split between two levels with a large bar up front and a semi-open kitchen in the back. The decor was modern - with lots of greys and neutral tones which was a little unexpected. The main star of the menu is pasta, but they also have a few non-pasta mains as well as some crudo selections, apps, and sides. We decided to get a few apps, two pastas, and one side. To start, we went with the octopus, roasted mushrooms, burrata crostone, and focaccia. These were all really good, but my favorite was the mushrooms. I'm usually not a fan of mushrooms but these were prepared with red pepper and fried egg and were delicious; it cut through the earthiness and changed the texture to something I really enjoyed. The focaccia was also a standout - it's house made and was paired with a peppery oil that complemented the bread well. For mains we split two pastas - the caccio e pepe and the rigatoni. Both of these were very good, though I felt the rigatoni was the stronger dish. It was prepared with sausage ragu, soppressata, broccoli rabe pesto, and pecorino. The flavors worked really well together and the pasta was cooked al dente. The caccio e pepe was perfectly fine, I just feel it's been overplayed and didn't feel there was anything that stood out amongst the others I've tried. We also got a broccoli rabe as a side which was great. We couldn't leave without dessert and decided to get their olive oil cake and quattro formaggio cheesecake. The restaurant is known for the former - it was perfectly fine but I've had olive oil cakes elsewhere of the same or better quality. The cheesecake was the stronger dessert IMO - the combination of cheeses gave it an interesting, almost savory flavor. The brûlée top and mascerated strawberries were great texture and flavor complements. Service was great - the place was packed but service was consistently on point and everyone was friendly. Overall, I had a good experience at L'Artusi. While everything was very good, I'm struggling to find the exact reason why this place became such a hot spot compared to other Italian spots in the city. Nevertheless, you'll have a good meal here and I would definitely return if given the opportunity.

Second the waiter who took our order was polite and on point with specials and knowledge of the menu. He (just never caught his name) suggested the Rigatoni which chicken and sausage.
