We had lunch on the patio here today. Our experience wasn't very pleasant at all. The food was decent, however, the staff here were not very friendly or courteous. It was very sunny and when the hostess was seating us we asked for another table that was near a tree to have some more shade. Two seats were in the direct sun. She was very snippy and a said, "All of the umbrellas are the same." She set our menus on the table and left. She couldn't have cared less. We reseated ourselves. Our waiter made no attempt to be friendly or personable in spite of our attempts to engage him. He did look after us, however. After observing other people who work there, we were left with the impression that perhaps management doesn't treat their staff very well. Not a very cheerful bunch. Over the years this place has gotten progressively worse. The food is not at all worth the price it's over priced but the quality just isn't there at all, almost $20 for a crappy risotto. But the service it what sucks the most here went a couple days ago for dinner and drinks with friends. We were seated and no one came to our table for 15-20 minutes. I had to go find someone to ask if we could get someone to take our order. It didn't stop there as I had to go up 3 times to ask to order more drinks. The third time was after I had to go to the bathroom and saw our waitress sitting at the bar in the other room socializing with other staff and on her phone. What value does this restaurant offer if this is a typical experience over several visits...none. They should focus less on opening more locations and focus more on making a quality product and experience . read more

We just moved into the area and of course we have become regulars at the HUGE Moretti's outdoor patio. NOTE: I have never dined in yet as it is summer and we are taking advantage of the weather. I did get to go inside and the place is HUGEE. Multiple bars inside as well as one outside and TVs are everywhere! The only knock off for the star was because of the wishy washy service. I notice that every time I get a young waitress they spend most of their time flirting with the young guys that frequent or are overall rude. My first night here, my waitress said she wouldn't recommend any of the pastas ( a huge section of their menus) because she only likes her moms linguini?? What??? That same waitress was at the table next to ours (along with THREE other waitresses) flirting with the guys next to us and blowing us off when we simply asked for waters. Despite her opinion, my friend and I both ordered the angel hair pomodoro and we were happy. It is a simple dish and it is made well. I like that they add the pieces of mozzarella on top and the portion size is plentiful! The next time I came we had another waitress that provided some of the best service I've ever had! She was attentive and could handle the busy night well. We love coming for the 1/2 price pizza Tuesday nights! (Dine-in only) and that usually gets the place filled. We get a basic thin crust which is good for the great price. Appetizers: I do love their fried calamari as an appetizer as well as their coconut onion rings (so huge I can only eat one) They both aren't over fried or soggy which I love). Their hummus platter is okay, comes with a lot of dipping options but nothing special. Their jumbo stuffed mushrooms are also another one of my favorites! They come with 3-4 but they are well stuffed and filling. Their cheesy bread, mozzarella sticks, bruschetta are what you would expect, nothing extraordinary. They do have bread baskets they will bring with butter but you usually have to ask for it. They have a nice selection of beers which I appreciated as well. read more

PLACE WILL RIP YOU OFF and will not rectify a mistake on their part. Placed an order today and had one of their coupons that they send out, expiration10/31/23. The imbecile woman who takes orders mixed up free boneless wings then added boned wings which I didn't order. So my odrer was wrong and they extra charged me $20. When I called and told them they over charged me, they said they coupon expired. Huh? It says right on the coupon expiration 10/31/23. She then said they cannot rectify the situation because too bad, the driver left. So we are stuck with the wrong order and overcharged for it no less. This Edison Park location of Moretti's employs incompetents and the management is useless. If you go there, count your change and examine your bill very carefully. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. I know it is difficult finding decent labor, but Moretti's hires the bottom of the barrel. We were regular customers, but this is our last order. Food quality has also gone downhill, while prices have gone sky high. No wonder why they include coupons, they don't honor them. . Responding to the review by Susan K from Sunday. We frequent Moretti's often and for every Bears game. This review is false. We were sitting right by Susan's group. They weee rude and the ones who were impatient. They wanted service over everyone else like they were royalty. They got up about 6-7 times to interrupt servers just so that their table could get service or table cleaned before anyone else. The review by Susan is just entitled, me first which is selfish. The bartender tried to help out and explain the situation. She did not yell and was actually the person being nice and patient (not Susan and her party). That didn't stop Susan and her party from acting like children. Then they wrote multiple Yelp review to complain. This gaslighting is not correct. Morettis always has good service and their staff is great with customers. And due to the challenges restaurants are facing with staffing and with the impacts of covid, people need to to relax and be nice. They need to grow up and realize that the world doesn't revolve around them. The restaurant employees are working hard and face undue stress. Shame on you Susan K. Please do better next time. We saw it all and your party was embarrassing. I'm not sure who Susan K but the woman with blonde hair was causing the problems. The party wasn't embarrassing. It was only that lady. The food overall was good. The marinara sauce was not so good. Tasted like pizza sauce. They do not abide by Covid guidelines by Cook County Department of Health. They play fast and loose with capacity. No seating outside but chairs. Always seem to be a lack of servers for outside seating. There is a side room always sparsely seated and you will be told there is a party of 20 coming that never arrives. Shoulder to shoulder at the bar. Waitstaff over whelmed. Poorly managed. It's the sauce! Nonna's Lasagna and the Rustic Penne with sausage were the best when we stopped in at Fox Lake. So delicious, and truly tasted homemade and fresh. The lasagna is fluffy with layers of ricotta cheese, making it melt in your mouth, and the sauce is light and fresh, just like Grandma's. We'll be back. read more

Let me begin by saying that my family loves the food here! The service on the other hand needs major improvement. We ordered takeout and the food took over an hour, when we made it home we discovered that some of our food items were missing. We returned to the restaurant ( after calling them) to pick up the missing items which took another half hour, and still had people waiting for their orders from my first visit. When I asked for the manager I was directed to a guy who was sitting at a table eating. By the time I got home my food was cold and I was aggravated and did not want to eat. Me and my cousin decided to revisit this place about a month ago and I was happy I came back to try their famous Asiago crust pizza with pepperoni, sausage, ham. I also enjoyed the Widowmakers burger, and steak portobello ravioli! Portion for price was reasonable. I like how they have so many TVs on nearly every angle you turn your head. As for service, well it took quite awhile for our waitress to bring the drinks but besides that the food came out pretty quick! read more

I have been coming here and ordering delivery for about 8 years now. I never really had a complaint. Even something in our delivery order was messed up or forgot, they fixed it as best they could. Now, the last three times I've ordered food, the quality has fallen off. The Rustic penne pasta was all sauce and substance. The shrimp in any dish is either over cooked or even worse, under cooked. Finally, for whatever reason they decided to use different french fries. They are terrible. I hate to say it, but I think they got to big for their britches. The food quality took a major hit. The only positive is that the staff are still as friendly as can be. We will not be ordering from here for a while. I may try again, but its gonna be months down the road. read more

BEWARE OF THE ANGRY BOUNCERS. It is with great disappointment that I'm finally giving in and writing my one star review. I gave this place many chances, but overall they have so tragically lacked in customer service lately that none of the (few) good experiences here were worth the bad ones. The bartenders are so rude. Half the time you will get stuck with awfully mixed drinks and an attitude. I will say the food is decent. The servers are usually also pretty nice (Jordan was great the one time, only great customer service experience I've had so far). The final reason for my one star review was our recent experience with one of the bouncers. My friends and I, who come here quite often, came with a group of 8. In the middle of having drinks, two of our friends stepped out for a cigarette. Upon re-entering the building, my friend was stopped by the bouncer who insisted that we were all to leave immediately because he failed to show him ID. Mind you, this SAME bouncer had looked at his ID upon initial entry. Instead of allowing us to explain and show the ID once more, he accused my friend of being "too drunk" and said we all had to leave. I guess they don't like business because we had a tab open and everything but nope- he wouldn't have it. It was all very odd and sketchy, never EVER had that happen to me before. The guy may have some personal issues going on, but that was no way to treat customers. His behavior finalized my decision to not return here again. Don't waste your time and money. You will get a couple of watery drinks and then be accused of being drunk. I used to enjoy coming here and giving them my business but this was beyond ridiculous- I want nothing to do with a place that allows that kind of behavior. I wonder if the bouncer who acted like we had invaded his private castle was the owner? Because I cannot imagine being employed by someone else and acting that way. And if there is someone else in charge besides this man who clearly believes himself to be the King of Morettis, I hope they care enough about the mistreatment of frequent customers because that's exactly what goes on here. read more

I have NEVER had a bad experience at Moretti's until tonight. My family orders from here at least once a week and more often than not it's the pizza we're getting. Tonight I decided to venture out and try something new though. I tried their vegan impossible burger and I can say I was rather displeased. The fries I got were cold and the burger just really wasn't exciting at all. I would have rather had a black bean patty or portobello mushroom in place. I have never been to this location, however I was also very unhappy with our service. Our waiter was never anywhere to be seen and he didn't seem to care much about us. Absolutely terrible experience, and will never order from here again. Placed a large $100+ order, waited over an hour and half for my food, and then they forgot two of my pizzas. When called to get sorted out, the manager Don swore at me, told me it was not his problem, refused to reimburse money or deliver missing food, and then hung up the phone. I have been going to Morettis for years, but in all just time it was always for drinks and pizza at the most. Lately, because it's in the neighborhood we've been going for dinner with the kids and eating something besides pizza. The food has been really good every time...I was surprised. First thing is the burgers are really good that was the big shocker for me. My favorite is the widow maker a juicy burger on brioche, with an onion ring, bacon and chipotle mayo just amazing. The Jack Daniels burger is also really tasty. The Italian specialties, pastas and chicken parm all really good, and the pizza is usually the stand out, but I haven't got the pizza there in awhile just because the rest is so outstanding. The last time I ordered the the Saturday special which was a full rack of ribs with fries for $16! And the ribs were tender fall off the bone delicious, and for the price I couldn't believe it. My kids like it, and the the kids meals are $5! Can't go wrong. read more

I will admit I try and avoid this place like the plague, but its because I went to the high school in the area and it seems you have a hard time not seeing someone from the old days. I like to keep the past in the past folks. However I have friends who didn't go to said high school, and love this place. There for I venture back every now and then with them. The place is fairly large, a good bar in the with several seats, plenty of room in the entire area and a fairly large patio as well. Despite all this room, on a Friday or Saturday night, the place can get pretty full. Your usual Italian food is here, but I pretty much go for the pizza every time. The best ever? Nope, not even close, but good none the less. I'd agree with Alison that the appetizers are good, but I would still say average for a bar. Staff is friendly and quick and they hustle their butts. So where do I begin! I've been coming to Edison park Moretti's for 25 years. I must say the place looks nice great job on the rehab. So me and my date wanted to sit outside . I left my name went over to a make shift bar with no bartenders . The waiting staff stops by to see if you need a drink. We sat there for 20 minutes and watched the staff wait on other people that came after us. Walk by us stared at us but never once ask us for anything! We valet my new convertible with the top down. Caught the outdoor patio's eyes. We where we'll dressed so makes me wonder why nobody would wait on us! I even checked my arm Pitts to see if I smelled but my date reassure me I smelled nice. We finally were seated to where our waitresse was very nice checked on us came by us in a timely manner. My feelings Staff has no leadership, to many teenagers that have no clue. This place is huge. It has got a large outdoor seating area, but being crusty old farts, we chose to eat inside. (No bugs or blazing sun). The food was pretty good.. Christopher opted for a salad with chicken in it. It was pretty typical. I had the risotto lunch special, which I really enjoyed. The hot bread that came with the meal was delicious. Service was friendly. The bathrooms are in the basement. They do have one handicapped accessible bathroom, but it is like you are going through an employee area and using their restroom. If you like sports bars, this is probably a great place to come. I cannot comment on their drinks because we stuck with soft drinks. I'm guessing by the amount of people there that it is probably a decent bar with many options. I would not want to be here during some major sports event, because I hate loud, intoxicated crowds, but I would stop back here for lunch on a week day if I were in the area. read more

Went here tonight with a group of friends to watch the Cubs game. We chose Moretti's because the place is huge and has lots of big screens, the pizza is good and they had drink specials. An Absolut Bloody Mary was $5 with a beer chaser and 20oz Miller Lites were $3. This was all listed on their website. When we got there the line was out the door. We had a 45 minute wait ahead of us so we went up to the bar to order drinks. The Bloody Mary's were $5 but no beer chaser. Since it was standing room only we didn't complain. We were finally seated and placed our order for food and drinks. When the bill came, none of our beer was $3, and we were charged the wrong prices for our food. When we pointed it out to the waitress she said she would have the manager come over. We explained to him that per his website the specials included $3 20oz Miller Lites but we were charged $5 and our food prices were off. He made me pull it up on my phone to show him and then said we had an outdated menu for food prices at our table. He ended up crediting the bill but made us feel like we were just trying to get money taken off. He took the old bill and said he would be back with the new bill. 30 minutes later we had to track the waitress down to try and get the new bill. We were disappointed in the way it was handled. We come here often for pizza, but probably won't be back. It shouldn't be the customer's job to point out your specials or menu pricing. And when they do point it out, an apology should be in the response. read more

Went here with the wife and our kid for dinner on a Sunday night. On the plus side, the place is spacious and there's ample parking. On the downside, it's expensive relative to what it is -- both the mains, which don't come with even a basic salad, and the soft drinks, which are $2.50 -- every piece of wall has a television on it, and the entire staff (the hostess and two waitresses) are really curt and a little nonchalant. The food is also below average -- I expected something much, much better from looking at the menu. What we got -- the chicken parm and crab gnocchi -- was really nothing better than we could've made in the kitchen at home, which is pretty sad because italian cuisine is not something at which I excel. They seemed good with kids at least; we got crayons and a fun paper menu as well as a really awkward wax-paper wrapped piece of pizza dough which we thought the last customer spit out and left on the table until we asked about it and were told it's a toy. read more

Went here for the first time last night (a cold February weeknight) to grab some dinner with a friend who just moved to Edison Park (EP). Parking: It was pretty cold so we drove over and, despite the large amount of street parking in the area, there were no open spots for about two blocks. It appears most of the restaurants in the area, including Moretti's, offer valet parking (surprising at a blue collar bar / restaurant). Speaking of blue collars, it turns out LOTS of police live in EP - they have to live in the city of Chicago and EP is the furthest out location that still counts as part of the city. There were 3 police cruisers in front of Moretti's. The Scene: The other reviewers have accurately described this sports bar / restaurant hybrid. It was about 3/4 full at 7 pm on a Thursday night. We asked to be seated in the non-smoking section but that "section" is about 10 feet from the bar - it wasn't bad, but if you're sensitive to smoke it would bother you. It was easy to have a conversation without raising your voice. Service: The service was great - friendly in a sincere way, prompt with drink and food orders, and attentive - she checked back with us a couple of times to see how everything was going. Food: So-so food that is so! so! unhealthy for you (but who expects a neighborhood Italian restaurant to be healthy?). My friend had the chicken marsala ($12) but the "mushroom and marsala wine sauce" came out more paste-like... kind of a heavy mushroom gravy. I ordered the IB with cheese ($7) and it was acceptable but uninspiring. Just some meat on a bun with an au jus dipping sauce. The spicy fries that came with it were soggy. I think we'll come back here for drinks but I wouldn't go out of my way to have dinner here again. read more

Longtime customer, have not been in awhile and so disappointed with our visit last night felt compelled to share this as a warning. Food quality and choices very good. Service was so lacking, they seemed very understaffed and the few servers they had were ineffective and appeared untrained. Kept forgetting to bring things they said they would such as plates to share pizza, salad dressing that should have come with salad, drinks ordered before apps arrived with main course. I will start by saying that the food was good, but the rating is for the horrific customer service. We got an email from Moretti's that they were having a Disney trivia night at 8:30. It was the night of a Blackhawks game so we went a little early so that we could find a table and maybe eat before the trivia. We were put in the old Snuggery side and one of the first groups to show up (there was only one other table full). We waited 10 minutes and no server showed up. We went up to the bar which only had ONE bartender and she apologized and took drink orders and said she would bring it back to the table. She never did and we had to go up and get them...not too much a problem. However, it kept getting busier and busier and while a server finally came into the room, they went to every table except our own! We then got back up and ordered appetizers and the pizza . They were dropped off by the kitchen staff who were too busy to really care who got which appetizer or pizza. They stated "figure it out later". The worst was that we then had to bus our own table and put our dirty dishes in the server hutch near our table. There was no comment from any employees and we had to go up to get our drinks again. In fact, I gave up and had only one beer the entire night. My brother forgot one of his bags there so my mom went in early afternoon the next day. Since it was not busy, she asked to see the manager because she wanted to give feedback on the night before. Somebody else came out and said that the manager is not coming out and to talk to him. My mom explained the issue I mentioned above and all he could say was "we were busy, what do you expect?" When my mother mentioned that we were one of the first groups in the bar, he said "well, you people should have made reservations". This is where Moretti's lost me. I have been in customer service my entire career and when somebody is giving feedback, you do not accuse them of doing something wrong. This was customer service at the worst and they should be ashamed of themselves. To top it off, my mother was given coupons for a free pizza if we spent $25 or more. We do not care about the coupons, my mother just wanted to give some feedback because we used to love Moretti's in Edison Park. Not anymore.
