    Taro Matcha
    Jonathan B.

Yummy Taro Matcha! Swung by UCI and stopped at this spot on the way back home. Not too sweet which I like, only issue is the taro was stuck to the sides of the cup! I used a spoon to scrape the rest of it once I was done with my drink. Service was friendly and my drink was ready super quick. Outside seating was nice, although in the middle of some apartments or something. Just make sure to park in the structure, there's a lot more parking and it's free!

MORIS @ IRVINE The crème brûlée swirl was AMAZING. My friends also enjoyed their more traditional matchas, noting that it wasn't super bitter. The drinks came out with really fast after ordering; however, not that much space if you come with a group.

Pretty quick place. They have a good take around the banana matcha and it's very good. It certainly meets expectations and I love the banana chip they add on top. Cold brew was good as well.

Mori's is a cute place for small hangouts or just to stop by for a quick drink. I got the banana cream hojicha. I was really excited to try their new series as I saw so many people try out their matcha. I always love a good hojicha latte, I wouldn't say the banana flavoring is too strong compared to other banana drinks I've ordered in the past. I also like it when the hojicha has a stronger roasted flavor, and I didn't feel like I got it as much. However, my drink was still really good, and I'd definitely come back to try their other drinks. Service was limited and got my drink out somewhat quickly as it was busy the night I went. Warning : there's little parking available around the area so I wouldn't try to plan to sit down anywhere or stay for such a long time

Love this spot for matcha! They have a great selection of drinks and food items. You can choose your level of matcha strength as well how sweet. They have a kiosk as well as cashier to order and the drinks come out super quick. Not much seating but there is ample parking. Small but cute vibes.

I really enjoyed the banana cream hojicha. The banana flavor was not too overpowering and wasn't artificial tasting at all. My fiance got the guava matcha and he really enjoyed it. Their drinks are not super sweet. There are a bunch of signs about how their sweetener is just naturally less sweet but was kind of confusing to understand. I definitely want to return for the hojicha but also to try some of their food.

I see this place a lot and my friend and I were enticed by the menu so we came inside to order. It's a small quaint shop with a wide variety of food and drinks. I ordered the taro fresh milk and my friend ordered the house cold brew. I've tried many taro drinks and this was probably the worst one. It just tasted like milk but had the texture of coconut shavings. I attempted to mix everything on my drive, but it was all clumped at the bottom so I couldn't mix it until I got home. Even then it still wasn't good. I'm not sure if that's just how they handcraft their ube/taro but I personally was not a fan. For my friend, she said her house cold brew was alright, not too strong. Now that might have just been our experience so if you want to try for yourself, please do, but I will not be returning here personally.

I was fairly disappointed. They emphasized on their matcha but it wasn't even ceremonial. When we asked about the grade of their matcha, they didn't seem to know... The dessert was alright. Nothing spectacular. Appeared to be ideal for students to grab food and/drink and study.

The matcha drinks here are really strong so perfect for anyone who appreciates that true matcha flavor. I can't wait to try more of the drink menu besides the matcha double cream top I got. We also tried the spicy honey chicken which tasted light and healthy. I appreciated how many different veggies were in a single bowl. We parked in front in a 30 min spot. Food and drinks came out fast. Very limited but some seating

came here at opening for the hojicha latte. i like that they have lactose free milk options here! i got it extra creamy and at their recommended sweetness. given the color of the hojicha, i was expecting a very strong flavor but it was a little muted. i wish it had a bit more flavor but maybe it's also because i prefer a slightly sweeter hojicha. next time ill have to try it with a bit more sweetness. service was good, the girl was bombarded with a few orders at once but she was quick! inside has a couple of places to stand and wait for your drink but not really sit.

Funny enough, my partner and I saw a video of their matcha so we drove to try it! Their shop was very cute, tucked away by a few apartment buildings, making it a great place for an afternoon matcha. We saw a few people in there studying and some even relaxing with their pets! Their regular matcha had very good ceremonial matcha and was very high quality. I don't like my matcha too sweet and they made it exactly how I liked it. Their strawberry matcha latte was also very good! The standout for that drink was how delicious the strawberry puree is!

    * drinks are made using marukyu koyamaen matcha, artisan tea, house-roasted coffee, and handcrafted taro and ube paste * most drinks are made using lactose-free milk (free to switch to regular whole milk) * my go-to's are their Taro Matcha Fresh Milk, Assam Black Milk Tea, and Banana Hojicha Oat Latte * menu also has options for oriental herbal desserts, kale green juice, sandwiches, salads, soba noodles, and energy grain bowls * one of my favorite cafes for fresh and healthy grab-and-go meals and dessert! 8.5/10

This place is more known for its food and now is leaning towards their drink menu. I happened to be in the area and wanted to give the matcha a try. They use Maru Koyamaen which is known for their high-quality matcha & lactose free milk without a charge. Already a plus in my books! The barista asked how strong I wanted my matcha and I chose "Rich" since it was the most popular. My drink had a beautiful rich green color that meets my matcha standards. Will be back to try the highest level of their matcha latte!

They seem to have limited staff, which means they are bogged down by lines and serving resulting in limited tables being cleaned. I got the blueberry lemonade and it was a good mix of tangy and sweet! Highly recommend if you're not in the mood for coffee/matcha. I ordered the chicken koko mono and it was DELICIOUS! The chicken was breaded with panko which made it really crispy and a fun texture. The rice had the same gravy on top of it. The mac was also classic and great. The only con was that the egg was a little over, but nonetheless still edible. Highly recommend!!

It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger over brunch, which is probably why it's become such a popular spot. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't quite live up to the setting for us. We ordered the French onion soup, smoked salmon pizza, and breakfast burrito. Surprisingly, the French onion soup was the standout dish. It didn't look particularly appetizing when it arrived, but the rich, savory broth and balanced flavors completely won us over. The smoked salmon pizza had a great flavor profile, but it was way too salty. The salmon was already heavily seasoned, and the capers only amplified the saltiness. Despite the salty pizza, the breakfast burrito was my least favorite item. My wife enjoyed it, but I thought the eggs were overly fluffy and abundant, which muted the flavors of the other ingredients. One thing worth mentioning is the wait. I had read reviews about slow service but assumed those issues had been ironed out by now. Despite there being little to no line when we ordered, our food took about 45 minutes to arrive. I think something may have happened with our order because I noticed multiple parties who ordered after us receiving their food much sooner. To their credit, the staff was friendly and offered complimentary pastries, though they weren't particularly memorable. If you're in Irvine and looking for a brunch spot with a great atmosphere, Bluberry Social is worth checking out. The food wasn't perfect, but the overall experience was enjoyable enough that I'd be open to giving it another try.

I've heard the Peruvian Steak, Prosciutto, and Chicken are good too! My only feedback with the Happy Hippie is that there is slightly too much filling, so it falls when you are eating the sandwich. Each of their sandwiches comes with two halves and is filling and satisfying. They also use fresh, vibrant vegetables, and a store associate told me their bread is baked fresh every day! Tough call... This is my favorite Mendocino Farms location…read moreout of at least five I have been to around Orange County. The problem with this sandwich chain is one and only: They have a huge issue with quality consistency. Ask their managers and they will tell you that the portions and sandwiche ingredients are strictly measured, but as a customer you know that's not the case. You go to some places and get these tiny sandwiches with two slices of bread and barely any ingredients in between. The Tustin location, located in Whole Foods has been the worst offender at this by far. Now this Campus Drive location has been creating the best, most generous, consistent sandwiches. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen every time still. It all depends on who you get as you cook on that day, crafting your sandwich. Some day sandwiches that get to the table are juicy and enjoyable, and sometimes, they come out to be disappointedly small, with minimum amount of ingredients. I had to complain to the manager a couple of times, but it doesn't help. Every time I come here, I pray to get the right chef who will make my sandwich well. Absolutely hate being at their mercy.

5 stars for the goma matcha latte and milk bread with crunchy pearls!…read more The goma matcha latte 5/5 had a black sesame paste that was like the black sesame version of smooth peanut butter! One could probably eat it by the spoonful! Such a complex flavor complement to the matcha latte. The matcha latte (4/5) felt fairly strong (I estimate 4g at least), and the mango puree tasted real/ fresh but was nothing special. However, I did like that it was not too sweet. Caveat: I am partial to mango/coconut milk or mango sticky rice matcha lattes. The goma matcha was worth the $8 pricetag. Tip: Matcha Mondays=10% off matcha drinks! The mango one maybe was worth it due to the amount of matcha, but I do feel like I could make it at home. The milk bread ($5.50) was soft, with a delightful bursting sweet cream filling topped with those shite pearly crunchies-- unique and delicious. I also loved the kinako an pan (sweet bread with red bean filling, $5.50) because of the nostalgic flavors, but also because the azuki bean had a nice crunchy sugar quality. It was on the drier side the day after purchase, but I enjoyed it. Service was cheerful and speedy. The space is pretty large with probably as much outdoor seating as indoor, and there were a few open spots at 1:30 on a Monday. Parking was plentiful in the shared plaza lot with some shady spots.
