Yummy Taro Matcha! Swung by UCI and stopped at this spot on the way back home. Not too sweet which I like, only issue is the taro was stuck to the sides of the cup! I used a spoon to scrape the rest of it once I was done with my drink. Service was friendly and my drink was ready super quick. Outside seating was nice, although in the middle of some apartments or something. Just make sure to park in the structure, there's a lot more parking and it's free!

MORIS @ IRVINE The crème brûlée swirl was AMAZING. My friends also enjoyed their more traditional matchas, noting that it wasn't super bitter. The drinks came out with really fast after ordering; however, not that much space if you come with a group.

Mori's is a cute place for small hangouts or just to stop by for a quick drink. I got the banana cream hojicha. I was really excited to try their new series as I saw so many people try out their matcha. I always love a good hojicha latte, I wouldn't say the banana flavoring is too strong compared to other banana drinks I've ordered in the past. I also like it when the hojicha has a stronger roasted flavor, and I didn't feel like I got it as much. However, my drink was still really good, and I'd definitely come back to try their other drinks. Service was limited and got my drink out somewhat quickly as it was busy the night I went. Warning : there's little parking available around the area so I wouldn't try to plan to sit down anywhere or stay for such a long time

Love this spot for matcha! They have a great selection of drinks and food items. You can choose your level of matcha strength as well how sweet. They have a kiosk as well as cashier to order and the drinks come out super quick. Not much seating but there is ample parking. Small but cute vibes.

I really enjoyed the banana cream hojicha. The banana flavor was not too overpowering and wasn't artificial tasting at all. My fiance got the guava matcha and he really enjoyed it. Their drinks are not super sweet. There are a bunch of signs about how their sweetener is just naturally less sweet but was kind of confusing to understand. I definitely want to return for the hojicha but also to try some of their food.

I see this place a lot and my friend and I were enticed by the menu so we came inside to order. It's a small quaint shop with a wide variety of food and drinks. I ordered the taro fresh milk and my friend ordered the house cold brew. I've tried many taro drinks and this was probably the worst one. It just tasted like milk but had the texture of coconut shavings. I attempted to mix everything on my drive, but it was all clumped at the bottom so I couldn't mix it until I got home. Even then it still wasn't good. I'm not sure if that's just how they handcraft their ube/taro but I personally was not a fan. For my friend, she said her house cold brew was alright, not too strong. Now that might have just been our experience so if you want to try for yourself, please do, but I will not be returning here personally.

I was fairly disappointed. They emphasized on their matcha but it wasn't even ceremonial. When we asked about the grade of their matcha, they didn't seem to know... The dessert was alright. Nothing spectacular. Appeared to be ideal for students to grab food and/drink and study.

The matcha drinks here are really strong so perfect for anyone who appreciates that true matcha flavor. I can't wait to try more of the drink menu besides the matcha double cream top I got. We also tried the spicy honey chicken which tasted light and healthy. I appreciated how many different veggies were in a single bowl. We parked in front in a 30 min spot. came here at opening for the hojicha latte. i like that they have lactose free milk options here! i got it extra creamy and at their recommended sweetness. given the color of the hojicha, i was expecting a very strong flavor but it was a little muted. i wish it had a bit more flavor but maybe it's also because i prefer a slightly sweeter hojicha. next time ill have to try it with a bit more sweetness. service was good, the girl was bombarded with a few orders at once but she was quick! inside has a couple of places to stand and wait for your drink but not really sit.

Funny enough, my partner and I saw a video of their matcha so we drove to try it! Their shop was very cute, tucked away by a few apartment buildings, making it a great place for an afternoon matcha. We saw a few people in there studying and some even relaxing with their pets! Their regular matcha had very good ceremonial matcha and was very high quality. I don't like my matcha too sweet and they made it exactly how I liked it. Their strawberry matcha latte was also very good! The standout for that drink was how delicious the strawberry puree is!

This place is more known for its food and now is leaning towards their drink menu. I happened to be in the area and wanted to give the matcha a try. They use Maru Koyamaen which is known for their high-quality matcha & lactose free milk without a charge. Already a plus in my books! The barista asked how strong I wanted my matcha and I chose "Rich" since it was the most popular. My drink had a beautiful rich green color that meets my matcha standards. Will be back to try the highest level of their matcha latte!

This place opened up next to my fitness studio and I have so many AMAZING things to say about it! Their bowls are SUPER healthy and nutritious and they provide you with the calorie count! And I just know their ingredients are super fresh and organic. But the spotlight for me are the DRINKS. I asked the person serving me what their speciality is and he said uji matcha and taro! I ended up getting their taro black boba milk tea and assam black boba milk tea. You can tell that the taro they use is SUPER FRESH. And it's not overwhelmingly sweet even with boba! One of my favorite places near campus!! Their matcha drinks are smooth and not too sweet or milky. They make the drinks pretty fast and same with the food. Definitely try the food if you haven't, it's pretty good sized and tastes healthy. It's a bit small inside but there's still places to sit and study. read more

Cute spot! Will definitely be going back as they expand their menu! So far we've tried: - Soba Noodle Bowl: ingredients were all good but dressing was too light so the bowl was a little bland. I actually think a sesame dressing would be more fitting. - Osmanthus Soup: Husband really liked it. It's very sweet (seems like a dessert) so would recommend 50% sugar. - Creamy House Specialty: Really good but sweet even at 50% - Uji Matcha: Great flavors, like most places oat milk is an extra fee Service is great, they're still working out the operation given they just opened a day ago! There's a few outdoor chairs but nowhere else to sit. It's a grab and go kind of spot which is great for the area. 5 stars because it's got good food and great drinks. Nothing on the menu worth making a drive for yet but can easily see this place becoming the go-to cafe for the neighborhood as they expand their menu. Would love to see matcha + fruit flavors or some regular latte options on their menu in the future. read more

Such a nice little lunch place with great drinks. Didn't feel like the food was overpriced, it was very high quality and the coffee was tasty too. It's small inside but there's seating for a few people. Workers were helpful and nice. Also, I found it nice that the protein and calories were on the menu. I found this spot on TikTok and saw it had good reviews so decided to stop by. I tried their two popular drinks with oat milk and was quite disappointed. First off, the matcha is premade and poured out from a jug when ordered. This made the matcha taste old and the color almost green-ish brown. They had a free drink if you left 5 stars so that may be why there are good reviews so far. The taro part was actually tasty but I wish they would improve on the quality of the drinks and not just overfill with ice, which I have seen in previous reviews too. read more

Totally recommend this place. It's super clean, the vibe is really chill, and it's in such a nice area--perfect way to start the day. I got the rich uji matcha latte with 75% sweetness. The first couple of sips were really good, but the more I drank it, the less I liked it. Overall, it was not bad, but since I am pretty picky with matcha, if I am paying $7ish, I would probably just go somewhere else. Also, I waited abt 15-20mins for my drink after ordering which was longer than most other busier matcha places that hand whisk to order even though their's was premade. However, staff were very friendly and helpful when I asked for recommendations. Also, they use lactose free milk so I didnt need to pay extra for alternative milk. The store is pretty small, but there are a couple of seats inside. read more

honestly kinda sad that i can't rate this place any more than 3 out of 5 stars. the matcha is actually super good and the menu is clean and healthy. the service is just slow and tbh customer service kinda sucks. no one really seems attentive or helpful. in taking a quick glance at the reviews, seems like i'm not the only one who thinks this. unfortunately it seems to be a pattern which is enough for me to not visit again. but i did give them two tries. ordered matcha both times. first time i tried a berry ube matcha latte which needed more sweetness. second time i got a strawberry matcha and increased the sweetness which was way better. it's delicious... they're just soooo incredibly slow and inattentive. read more

The service here by the employees was great! They were very attentive and service was very quick. The ambience of this place gives hole in the wall in the best way and the cup sleeve design is very aesthetic. Tiny and aesthetically pleasing lil' cafe. Popular place for 1-3 people to study (that's how small it is). Had the taro milk and it was SUPER grainy (more so than Cha Redefine I would say) so texture-wise not the best...but was reassuring knowing I was drinking something without any artificial dyes, flavors, or preservatives. Sweetness 25% was perfect sweetness level IMO, not overly sweet at all. Loved the boba, reminded me of those boba mochi candies you can get from Costco. Took a while to get drinks, but employees nice. Pretty sure they were new as well. read more

The Uji Matcha latte was one of the best matcha's I have ever had! It had a perfect balance of sweetness and grassy notes (I got 50% sweetness). I also enjoyed the grain bowl with garlic chicken. Overall great atmosphere and yummy food! read more

Some day sandwiches that get to the table are juicy and enjoyable, and sometimes, they come out to be disappointedly small, with minimum amount of ingredients. They stick to a more traditional approach and don't add sweetener unless you ask for it. Lastly, the pourovers. Some people might question the price, but take a minute to smell the different beans at the counter. You'll quickly realize that not every bean smells like coffee. The tasting notes actually come through and you can tell a lot of care goes into every pour over they make. Most drinks, aside from the pour-overs, are around $4.50 to $7, which is a far greater value for what you're getting in sheer quality. There are way too many cafes these days that focus on aesthetics and end up sacrificing quality. This place feels like it's run by people who genuinely love coffee and it shows in every order. Last note: they have their system down to a tee. The wait in line may be long but once you order it's super quick to receive your order.

Their Bingsoo is too icy and is not creamy and pillowy soft like other BIngsoo shops. Their Bingsoo almost tastes like shaved ice with fruit on top. Also, the condensed milk was given to us in a small cup and wasn't mixed in the bottom layers of each bowl. So, it was icy at the bottom, all the way to the top and then some strawberries with a condensed milk drizzle, a few mochi pieces, and then we were given a small cup of the condensed milk to sweeten it up ourselves. I don't think I will be back, except if I really don't have a choice for a dessert nearby.
