I've been trying and trying to call and make a reservation for a double birthday, but no one will answer the phones. It just rings and rings, and then I hear a beep, and it hangs up on me. The food is extremely delicious! The filet mignon, scallops, shrimp and New York steaks were cooked to perfection! The chef is GREAT !!! Katie is a terrible server/ waitress! The service from everyone there was exceptional except for her!! She did not visit my side of the table but frequented the opposing side often! She was appalled that I was going to request to more food to go! This place would and could easily be a 5 STAR without her! The owner is very personable and helpful with everything! The owner made the experience much better with his being on site and helping the restaurant flourish!! Mr. Mori was one of the OG chefs at Benihana NY, when he decided to break out on his own... settling in Glendale (not Hollywood, not Beverly Hills), which I find fascinating! I was an 80's kid who grew up minutes away from this hibachi style restaurant, and had NEVER been. I had no IDEA what I was missing. My amazing hubby got us reservations for my bday... and we had such a blast sitting with another family at the grill while our server cooked up some incredibly scrumptious eats!!! Try the filet mignon, you won't be sorry. The salmon was also very tasty. Ambience is a throwback to the innocent days of Wham! and Oingo Boingo, complete with headshots of Mori with famous visitors. I have been going to Mori's for probably 30 years. It's a very casual ambience. Clean place. always busy. Good food. and lots of it. The only bad things I would say is the restaurant has not been updated in a long time and it can get kinda smoky in there. Darn it! they did not answer the phone last time we were trying to get in - don't know what the deal was with that but obviously we were unable to go because we weren't going to drive 20 miles to find out if they were open or not when they should have been. That's the first time we have had a miss (June 2024) so we will try again soon. read more

My family has been coming to Mori's for, ever it seems. My brother lives near by and him and his roommate use to come every Friday. We often visit on celebration occasions when it's with the fam. Most recently I called to see if they'd be open for my brothers birthday and they were. We snagged a 7p rezzie on a Friday evening. We had a table to ourselves since there were 7 of us and I appreciated not having to have the plexiglass separator to deal with. There are also new clear type plastic curtains to divide tables. The experience wasn't too different. Staff is masked, you are too if you're moving about to the bathroom or coming and going. Regular utensils and dish ware is not provided, you eat out of to go style options (fine by me) although I think we had actual cups for our beers. Yes, we did! We had a few rounds of Sapporo and my mom with her cold sake. My son and I ordered our regular chicken and shrimp, the others had an array of steak and seafood. I will say I could barely recognize myself when I got home, so much sodium. I'm not sure if it was the salad dressing, soup, dinner or sauces. Maybe the sauces, combined with beer in a warm place beside a grill but wow! Mori's is always a fun experience. It's not quiet and doesn't lead to intimate conversations, you're left screaming across the table but you know... this is sort of the deal when you go anywhere like this with a large party. We had a great time as we always do. My brother isn't a fan of cake so I baked him his fav, edge brownies and brought these. They brought out an ice-cream for him and we called it a night nearly 3 hours later. I'm fairly certain long waits are just the new norm with the new protocol for everything. Went there for a work dinner for 12 people. Made reservations a few days in advance and we had no problems being seated quickly when we arrived. The service was great, all the staff were really friendly. Food was amazing and was in line with what I expected from previous Teppan restaurants. Absolutely terrible service. My family and I have been calling for 3 days to make a reservation - and no one has ever answered. They do not answer the phone when reservations for the day are filled. I had to drive to the location to try to make a reservation, and was told to call and leave a voicemail, although ever single time any of our family members tried to call, the voicemail box was full. I don't know how you expect to take reservations with a system so dysfunctional as this, and you've lost loyal customers (x10) because of this lack of organization and thought. read more

I've also been to a location Tokyo wako it's not to bad but Mori Teppan grill has the best salad dressing, soup which consist of onions , carrots and there's another main ingredient that pulls it together .Iv gone with my partner we go more for the cooking than the show : ) Thank you chefs by the way we come in a always show some love by tipping. One of my favorite places to go! The chefs are fun and playful and will match your level for sure. Mori is a legend, he is there every night with a smile and will seat you and even grab anything you need if he sees he can be of any assistance! He will take a shot with you if you are a familiar face and will give you a few tips about "secret" menu items like a sauce that's not on the menu. As far as the food, this is more objective, but I put in on top of my list for any hibachi restaurant I've been to. Specifically, a couple of the top, more popular, hibachi restaurants. It does feel a bit crowded on the inside but I don't think that's a bad thing it just means a lot of people want to eat there and that's a great sign. The food was delicious and fresh. I was delighted to find this quaint Teppan Grill in my old neighborhood, about 25 years ago. Better yet, I'd known Mori for years from Hama Sushi in Venice, where I worked and he frequented. Purely accidental but what a sweet surprise. The food is great, the staff are attentive and Mori is a total sweetheart. Covid hasn't been kind to many restaurants and he doesn't have as much staff as is sometimes needed, so make sure to reserve in good advance. He doesn't like to over-seat his staff so customers will get the best service possible, and he gets right in there and helps out. I've worked at many restaurants and most owners don't do that. The owner here is so rude! I dined here the other day and I witnessed the owner yelling and scolding our waitress right in front of us and all the other customers! Our server was so kind and very attentive to us the entire time, I felt bad that the owner was yelling at her so harshly, it definitely seemed like he does that all the time. This place is old. But it's serve its purpose! I have visited this place so many times. I still enjoy it again and again. The place is not fancy, but the food is good. The price is actually pretty cheap for the quality of food that they give. I am not sure if they take reservation, but it is good to all ahead of time before you come in because this place is small, so it gets packed fast.
