Excellent service, food, and a lovely overall atmosphere to enjoy on a cloudy summer day! We enjoyed their breakfast tamale plate and a burger with their soup of the day, split pea. To drink, we had basil berry lemonade and a hot chai latte. Morning Glory Café is known to prioritize organic and Non GMO plant based ingredients in all of their homemade dishes. We will definitely be back whenever visiting Flagstaff!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]At first sight, cozy and homie, service and detail explanation of each menu items is elaborate and can tell they have alot of passion and knowledge of their food making[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . They offer vegan and gluten-free options especially a whole list of variety dessert that are gluten-free. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience has a little bit of vintage feel that we can update their decor with similar color palette and cohesive display, dragon kite, chinese mirror, thrift vintage clothing rack can consolidate to just one area of miscellaneous & nostalgic gift and memory area[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We order blue corn tamale with rice and beans lunch combo, as well as their best biscuit & gravy with tofu scramble. Gravy made of beyond meat, biscuit made with rice flowers. definitely A+ for began and gf lovers. Please come and try and support Jule and this beautiful family passed down restaurant.

Side of blue corn tamal, side of jackfruit tamal and side of beans

I really enjoyed the blue corn tamal and the jackfruit tamal. Both came with red chilli sauce, topped with veggies. Nice presentation even for the side tamales. The tamales were much smaller than other tamales I have had. I was also pretty underwhelmed by the beans, just whole beans, not much flavor in them and very expensive. I found the prices to be very high for the serving sizes in general. The counter service was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Simple in terms of atmosphere and I don't think they had AC.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a nice day so we sat outside at one of the two tables they have upfront.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had some political items and stickers on the counter. Regardless of whether I have a similar opinions, different opinions or just see the complexity of various issues, I don't like when restaurants and other businesses have political items displayed. For me, that deducts from a relaxing restaurant atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I did really enjoy the flavor of the tamales and their presentation and I like that this restaurant serves a full menu of vegan food. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

Healthy vegan food with a smile! The staff are so nice and the food is homemade right there including all of the yummy desserts which are gluten free and healthier due to the use of natural sweeteners such as sweet potato in the chocolate brownie. I came for breakfast and had the breakfast tamale plate which was jackfruit with a spicy red sauce and scrambled tofu "eggs" plus pinto beans, very filling from all of the protein.

If the biscuits and gravy are on the specials board when you visit, TRY IT. Omg. I ordered the $15 gluten free and vegan biscuits and gravy with potatoes and was SHOCKED that this gravy tasted like the regular pork and gluten-filled gravy. I was born in Texas. I know what this dish tastes like as I've had it a zillion times before my Celiac diagnosis. This version was better than the regular versions and the potatoes were great (and cooked separately not to be cross contaminated with gluten.) You might think it sounds suspicious and that they're using the real pork or wheat flour to make such a good gravy. No - again, I have Celiac disease and if this gravy or the biscuits had gluten, I'd be doubled over sick, not writing Yelp reviews in bed. I also had a $7 Golden milk latte with certified gluten free oat milk. I forgot to specify unsweetened and was so relieved that it came unsweetened. It makes me think they're making it from scratch unlike every other place that uses powders. My husband got a $4 cup of coffee but he should have ordered breakfast. They have some outdoor seating as well as a few booths, but don't come expecting to bring a group, it's tiny! If you're in Flagstaff and need some gluten free options, come here! Visited August 2023

It was a small gem for sure. The music in the background fit the feel but I was not a big fan of it. Friendly greeting from behind the counter. We came because of all of the GF options and to try something different (support local). Simple menu with practical choices which is nice if you're tired of seeing a million items that may or may not be done well. We orders blue corn pancakes and the French toast with bregan sausage on the side. Matcha tea and a vanilla latte. All of it tasted good just a little cold by the time we got time it got to our table which was disappointing. Probably a spot we will eat at only once or twice a year. If you're gluten intolerant or vegan, you can't go wrong choosing Morning Glory.

This is such a lovely gem of a place. We had breakfast there on a quiet Sunday morning, and the staff were just so friendly and laid back. We felt truly welcome. And the food was worth it! I had the blue corn pancakes, and they were everything I dreamed of and more. I even brought home some pancake mix to try to recreate the magic. I washed it down with a lavender lemonade, which is the perfect flavors normally and was totally magical this time. My husband created his own breakfast from sides, and even though that is probably not most cost effective, he got a huge plate of delicious food that was so fresh and healthy. He had a superfood smoothie with it, subbing almond milk for OJ, and that was exceptional as well. Great food, great atmosphere... this is the kind of place I would love to be a regular.

I've eaten here countless times and I'm never disappointed. They serve breakfast and lunch and have a variety of dishes, including vegetarian options. Their waffles are incredible as are their burritos, skillets, tostadas, and gorditas. Breakfast always comes with a side of whole beans (flavored with ham hock) which are super fresh. I can truly say there's nothing bad on this menu! The staff is always super welcoming and friendly and the ambiance is refreshing. It's a smaller space and it does get pretty busy, so be aware of that. The best part is that the cafe is family owned, with roots in Playa del Carmen, MX. I HIGHLY recommend Madrez if you're looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican brunch spot. Support local!

My partner and I ordered a chorizo burrito, a skillet poblano, and a plain waffle. While everything was just okay, it honestly felt like something we could have made better at home. I especially wouldn't recommend the waffles -- they were very airy, almost like toast, and at $14 they just didn't feel worth it. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience, but it's not somewhere I'd return to.

**July 2026: Tuesday and Wednesday Morning**…read more I usually make it a point to try new places when I travel, so the fact that I ate at Forêt FLG twice in the same trip should say everything about how much I enjoyed it. I was initially drawn in after hearing that Chef Sam Greenhalgh was a semifinalist for the 2024 James Beard Award (Best Chef: Southwest), and I was curious to try his food for myself. On my first visit, my friend and I ordered the Canelés de Bordeaux, Pain au Chocolat, Soft Scrambled Egg Plate, and Breakfast Burrito. We came back again for breakfast and tried the scrambled eggs toast and a savory waffle. Everything we had was delicious, but the Soft Scrambled Egg Plate was truly something special. The eggs were unbelievably light and fluffy, paired with perfectly buttered, toasted bread that somehow felt magical in its simplicity. The heirloom tomatoes and creamy avocado added such a fresh, balanced touch. It's a simple dish, but the execution was exceptional--and honestly, that's what makes it so memorable. I know it sounds a little crazy to return twice for something so simple, but it was just that well done. The breakfast burrito was a strong second favorite. We took it to go as we continued our road trip toward the Four Corners Monument, and it held up really well. It was packed with flavor, and I especially loved that the tortilla had a nice crisp to it. The pastries were also excellent--flaky, buttery, and everything you'd hope for--but for me, that scrambled egg plate is the standout and something I would come back for again and again.

We had a standard queen room both times and it's spacious, bathroom has two sinks one in and one out so yconvenient for two people sharing. The pool is a roundish shape but large enough to swim some laps when there aren't a lot of children there. There are four 2 level inter connected buildings and #4 being the furthest away from the lobby - you can park your car (parking is free) close to any building but it's a bit of a walk on foot. Location is a bit out of town not walking distance to downtown Flagstaff. Rating it a 3 star due to service. On a day when they don't seem to be full they still wouldn't accommodate a late check out by just an hour (at noon instead of 11 am) which I didn't think would have made any difference to them but would have made a huge one for us. Then there is the breakfast. Nice dining room and all, but service was slow and the food came lukewarm, this at a time when it was early and hardly anyone in the dining room. And in addition to that, I had tea and it came in a tea pot with one weak tea bag, and as I like my tea strong I asked for another tea bag in the same pot and was told I'd be charged a second pot of tea ($5). This kind of stinginess just doesn't befit the seeming stature of such a hotel. And finally, the teacup they gave me had a long crack in it - I discovered it when i saw the saucer filing up with tea and didn't think I spilled any in it. The crack was old and stained, not a new one, so it was shocking that no staff had noticed it for this long and cared enough to not continue using it. Let's just say I'd never encountered broken cups like this in lesser priced motels. For this trip to Flagstaff I also had a two-night stay in another hotel downtown and other than the swimming pool, it was much better value and more comfortable with more helpful staff - and no broken tea cups!
