Went for dinner there and was very good. Definitely hit the spot for comfort food. Was nice and close to the motel we we're staying at.

Last week - first visit. Will return. Early dinner, nice ambience. Server Courtney excellent. 4 stars for the Chicken Parmesan and for the Clam Strip meals. Apple pie better than the mixed berry pie but both were good. read more

The food isn't good , it's kind of like food anybody could make and you feel like you're trying to be polite by choking it down but then you have to pay for it. Service isn't good either, subpar. And the ice cream stand is kind of a joke .. there's like 3 kids running it. read more

Don't come here with kids unless you want to be ignored. Went last Saturday night with the family. We were seated in the back dining room and basically ignored by waitstaff, possibly because I had a 2 year old and an infant with me. It was around 6 so it was busy, but not so busy that we had to wait almost an hour just to get drinks. By the end of that hour the toddler was starving so we basically had to go back and tell the kitchen to box our food to take home. Not the restaurant experience we had hoped for, and my burger was just ok. We won't be coming back - there are better places to eat in town. read more

Stopped in for lunch for my fix of Fried Clams. I just love the old knotty pine booths. The fried clams were a disappointment. While eating I detected the taste of onions. When I asked the waitress why that was so, she explained to me that they use the same fryer for everything. Not a good plan! read more

Five of us went on a Friday night recently and although the server was attentive and pleasant, service was slow and it's not tourist season yet (so the place wasn't crazy busy). Between the table, we tried lots of menu items (naked lobster rolls, crab cakes, fried clam strips, mac & cheese, mozz sticks, sweet potato fries, ice cream, bread pudding). The knock-em outta the park items by far were the fried clam strips and bread pudding. The clams ALMOST melted in your mouth and the bread pudding rivals recipes we've had in the Southern US. If I go back - I'd probably order those two items (no matter what the $$) and be satisfied. read more

Morrisseys is by far the best resturant in the area! Ive been in a lot lately with the family! Very family friendly coloring pages, books and even a few toys. Wolfeboros best seafood and fried chicken! The owner is great! There are only 2 people to avoid.There is an older woman at night, She is thier "hostess" but she'll make you wait a while to be sat and the way she talks to the wait staff is just plain rude. Second! There is a girl who I've only ever seen at breakfast, shes so bad that we wont even go there for breakfast anymore! We've been going to Morrisseys for years for breakfast but this was the end of it. This girl wont give us any peace, she talks to us for our entire stay which might be fine if it wasn't all about her kids, sometimes we get out of the house to avoid hearing about kids! She talks about herself during the entire stay, and not to mention she REEKS of cigarettes! EW!!! She is als very forgetful, She has waited on us serveral times and she has not once gotten it all right. We're not the only ones either, many many people in town have been talking about this terrible waitress at Morrisseys, which is really too bad because Morrisseys was always known for their great service! Which everyother waitress is fabulous! Get rid of her already!!! Anyways, deffinetly recommend Morrisseys all in all, if you can avoid these two ladies, especiallt the second one! My husband and I met our good friends at Morrisseys and enjoyed a very good breakfast! Our waitress was Courtney and she went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We were a little bit cramped in our booth and our friend CT asked her if we could possibly move to a table to give us a bit more room and it was done before you could even blink an eye! She was wonderful and we gave her the tip she so deserved! It was such a relaxing atmosphere and we enjoyed the company of our friends very much as it had been since Christmas when we last saw them! A great time was had by all and I told Courtney that we would request her again on our next breakfast visit. This is another one of our favorite places to go have a perfect breakfast!! Tonight, my wife and I decided to try Morrissey's Front Porch for the first time, for our anniversary. I had the Roast Leg of Lamb, and she had the Seafood Melt. The good: -The roast lamb was delicious. -The onion rings were delicious. -My mint jelly was perfect. Straight out of the jar. -My baked potato was piping hot (but not cooked all the way through). The bad: -Took 15 minutes to be seated, because the hostess was MIA. -Took 60+ minutes from time of order to food arrival. -Kelly got a 4" long brown hair in her Seafood Melt (woven right in with the seafood, with cheese melted in/on/around it) -My onion rings were lukewarm, at best, on arrival. -My roast lamb was cold when it got to the table. -The gravy on top of my roast lamb had returned to a jelly state, instead of a "liquid". After dinner, I spoke with the Owner about the condition of the food, and was basically told "Sorry 'bout that - I'm sure we'll do better next time you eat here!". Nothing more. Went there for breakfast on 07/11/15 after a decade of not eating there. The food was good except for the stale raisin toast that I was charged $1.29. I could have had a muffin for $1.00. Then to add salt to the wound I was charged $5.78 for a swiss cheese omelet that should have been $5.34. Now I know Morrissey's is a summer place and you got to make as much profit as you can in a few months BUT, its all about the experience and your palate. Best bread pudding ever! Food is just okay. We ordered their thanksgiving dinner set this week for 4 people. It could easily have fed 5. Turkey was excellent. Great moist white meat. All the sides were no better then good. They were all pretty bland. I did enjoy the gravy. It was a light gravy but it had good flavor. This will be our new bread pudding joint! read more

2 meals, 2 great experiences. Food was good, although should've tried the turkey dinner, but got lulled into lobster slider which had more meat than most cheap lobster rolls. I had the french onion soup and lobster slider.... great. linguine and meatballs in creme rosa sauce, although pasta was slightly over done. Deserts you'd love and ones you never thought of, thank god they do it for you...... One big shout out goes to waitress extraordinaire Courtney, she made the meal. Went here for breakfast. It was excellent. The Lobster and Crab Benedict was outstanding as was the "incredible breakfast sandwich" and poached eggs. The blueberry muffin (ask for it grilled) was 1st rate. With the Wolfeborough Diner now closed and the old Strawberry Patch closed also for a sit down breakfast (it's a bakery now), choices in Wolfeboro are slim but this was well worth the visit! read more

I come up to Wolfeboro with my family once a year. During this visit the waitresses were very quick and kind, the food came out quicker than most places, and the home fries were top notch. However the coffee tasted burnt, the food was cold, and the milk and orange juice wasn't all that cold either. read more

I used to go here every summer when I was a kid and it was Bailey's. Ever since it changed ownership, it just hasn't been quite as good. It looks the same, still a friendly family restaurant feel, but the food has gone down in quality a bit. It's ok, it's just not as good as it used to be. I still make a stop in here sometimes to get a grilled cream cheese and olive sandwich - hard to find anywhere else (though easy to make at home). They do have good ice cream and frappes. read more

I haven't been here for a couple of years and had previously enjoyed it so knowing I'd be in the area couldn't wait to go back. To cut to the chase, it was very mediocre. I had always enjoyed their turkey dinner and decided to order it again. The side orders were not compatible to turkey...broccoli or coleslaw and mashed potatoes with gloppy gravy, linguini with red sauce, maple baked beans, cottage cheese,were my choices, made worse by the fact that everything was barely warm. I hate sending things back because then my dining companion feels compelled to wait till mine comes back and then his is cold.With the stuffing and mashed potatoes it was really all carbs. How about green beans, peas or squash...traditional with turkey. The only good thing was the price...12.99. My friend ordered the roasted chicken which turned out to have a fried coating on it...could not be eaten with a knife and fork. Had to be picked up to get the meat off the bone. Great ice cream... "Extreme Chocolate," "freedom Expresso," maple walnut & 30 more. Mediocre food, smallish portions. To call service inept would be to overpraise. It was like having your 9 year old nieces trying to serve the big people's table. Had to beg for napkins, water, even cutlery. They were out of all craft beers and tried to push random brands with which servers were unfamiliar. Lobster roll overpriced. Noisy kids stomping on floor & tables. I will never go back to this establishment. My husband and I went maybe 5 or 6 times for both breakfast and lunch. We always sat in the "sun room". Then the fateful day when I got a look at how "clean" that place really is. I ordered tomato and bacon Benedict, my husband got pancakes (with some form of meat cooked in them). When We got our plates we both started dressing our food (salt, pepper, etc.) I turned my plate and saw a PIECE OF MOLD THE SIZE OF A QUARTER right smack on the top of my watermelon. I have worked for years in the hospitality business, there is NO WAY that anyone working the window from the kitchen wouldn't have seen it, had they done a good job. I called the waitress over (who was with a trainee that day) and showed her my food. She looked horrified and asked if she could bring me anything else. I told her I was all set with having anything else to eat (I was 5mos pregnant and had lost my appetite for sure!) . I was feeling a little sick so i excused myself to the bathroom...unfortunately for me, you have to walk past the food window on your way to the bathroom - Let me just say, I will never understand how a kitchen that disgusting passed any sort of inspection. Just from that brief walk by I had had enough. When I returned from the restroom my husband was standing up from the table with my coat "I just found hair cooked into my pancakes". We paid our waitress, and tipped her (it's not her fault the food was inedible) and left. We have NEVER gone back since.....not even for ice cream. We stumbled upon Morrissey's yesterday and simply loved it. We loved the service, we loved the old time cabin atmosphere, we loved the choices on the menu and we enjoyed the food. Stick to your ribs / home cookin is the best way to describe our dinner. Broasted chicken, real mashed potatoes, steak tips w/ real macaroni & cheese and two kids meals that hit the spot. Took our Texas relatives to Morrissey's for lunch and had a wonderful experience. Our server was efficient and personable and the quality of the food was great. We ordered a lobster roll, haddock sandwich, Prime Rib French Dip (that was mine - yum!!) and lobster/crabmeat patty sandwich. Even the sides were super. The onion rings were amazing, BBQ fries passed the Texas test with flying colors, and even the cole slaw has MFP's special tweak. Had to try the bread pudding on the advice of our server. So me and my boyfriend come to the Front Porch to get some lobster.. While looking at the menu, all of the lobsters dishes have a market price so i had to ask the waitress multiple times how much they cost and the quantity of lobster. I saw the lobster pie, and was informed that i would get a casserole dish filled with lobster and sprinkled with buttered bread crumbs, and two side dishes for 23 bucks. As we are waiting for the food, in this un-air conditioned room, the hostess (who also happens to be the manager) seats all of her customers (16+) back to back in the same room. On a hot summer day that many bodies in one room rose the temperature from comfortable and breezy, to me sticking to their uncomfortable wooden bench with sweat. So the food comes out, and there is 3 pieces of lobster in this casserole dish. They give 4 ounces for 23 dollars. FOUR OUNCES. with a side dish of macaroni and cheese in a tiny bowl that you would put your salad dressing in. Cold onions rings that were clearly fried in bad oil. (probably hadn't been changed in a week.) and even after i complained the manager just shrugged her shoulders with a smug look and said "sorry" Never again am i going to throw my money away at that place. poof 40 bucks out the window for 3 BITES OF LOBSTER. read more

How can you go wrong for breakfast?? Just go to Morriseys Front Porch. First , there were only two parties eating when we got there but it took 15 or so minutes to be seated. Second, with only us an another party waiting for food it took about 30 minutes for food to come out. Third, worst pancakes ever. The batter they use must be from a cake mix. Fourth, waited a long time for coffee because our waitress, though very nice, said she took so long because she had to run to the store for supply's. read more
