Came for a friend's birthday party... the establishments name stood strong. The restaurant was beautiful, clean and inviting, the staff was nothing short of spectacular and the food was amazing! Everything about our visit was great, will need to bring the wife back soon

Ruth's is a great standard on what fine dining should be. Elegant ambience, excellent customer service, and delicious food. I have been to a couple of Ruth's around California and they all have the same incredible experience. Would definitely recommend this perfect place for a special evening. Definitely give their drinks a try, can't go wrong with most of their appetizers, and they have mouth watering deals that are definitely worth the price you pay.

I had such high hopes for Ruth Chris Steakhouse. The food was good. For the price range, I expected a true fine dining experience. I've been to other Ruth Chris locations and my opinion stays the same. While Ruth Chris is renowned for their steaks, I felt that their menu was basic. I guess that's to be expected because they're a chain. However, we were here for a holiday dinner and my fellow diners don't go to upscale restaurants often so this was a treat. We started off with the with the Seafood Tower, which was a sight to behold, even for me. It consisted of lobster, crab, prawns and poke. While the presentation was impressive and serving sizes were great, the taste was ok. The sauces served with the seafood were classic cocktail sauce and zesty aioli. My personal favorite was the poke. For my salad, I had their classic Caesar which I've had before and it was everything a true Ceasar should be: garlicky, tart, salty in a creamy sauce. My main entree was the 16 oz ribeye. Our sides included the lobster mac n cheese, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts and cremini mushrooms. The advantage of a large party is being able to try lots of dishes. The group fave was the sweet potato casserole. The lobster mac n cheese was too rich and you can only eat a little bit. For dessert, we got everything: carrot cake, chocolate lava cake, cheesecake, creme brule and bread pudding. Group fave was the carrot cake. The service was attentive especially since we bought several rounds of cocktails. Our bill was pretty hefty. The dinner was good, but the offerings were pretty basic. There wasn't anything unique or innovative on their menu. Did I enjoy my meal? I did. For the amount of money spent, I would have preferred a locally owned restaurant featuring dishes inspired by the bounty of ingredients in our area.

We came here to celebrate my birthday. We were a bit early to the reservation so some of our party went to the bar area for a drink and an appetizer, and the server there was kind and attentive. Once seated for dinner, Tionelle was our server - super sweet and friendly. Loved her voice, like it was just so soothing. I love how they put birthday confetti on the table. It's a small but thoughtful gesture. She checked on us often which I appreciated, and was observant that I was low on my soft drink and promptly brought me another. I love when the staff anticipates your needs because I was going to ask for another. I usually get the ribeye but opted for the filet and was cooked to perfection. I did get a lobster tail accompaniment and it was a bit on the salty side from the seasoning on top. I absolutely love salt but in this case I think the kitchen was a little heavy handed there, but once dipped in butter, it was better. The lobster mac n cheese was missing flavor IMO, definitely lacked salt and seasoning here :( The complimentary birthday dessert was cute and always love when they write Happy Birthday. We had birthday cake waiting for us at home so we skipped ordering desserts but everyone in our group ended their meal with a coffee beverage. If you order an espresso, it comes with a rock sugar stick! Overall, we've loved coming to this location for almost 10 years. The service is always fantastic and a nice place to celebrate a special occassion or dinner just because. Make sure to ask for Tionelle!

We came here for the meal deal, ... the meal deal is where it's at I mean for the price I guess it is. Made a reservation for 630 showed up early and we got sat right away which I appreciate because most places make you wait around for god knows what reason. We got a nice booth, ordered the brown butter old fashioned it was delicious and the citrus honey martini which was just okay definitely wasn't my favorite. You get to choose from an appetizer and your entree and a dessert. I chose the French onion soup- they did NOT skimp on the cheese!!! Chose the filet and shrimp for my entree and the steak was cooked perfectly, went with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes for the sides but the mashed potatoes were not good. They def tasted like the instant mashed potatoes but I enjoyed the brussels with the bacon bits. For dessert the mini chocolate cheesecake was decent but definitely made commercially made. Our sweet server Julias service was absolutely amazing, we appreciate you girly pop! Thank you for a lovely experience.

Had a great dining experience overall. My husband and I were seated in what felt like a private room off to the side of the restaurant, with a nice picture window. We had the entire section to ourselves, which made the experience feel really exclusive and relaxed. Julian was our server and he was attentive and provided excellent service. My husband and I usually order the three-course meal, but we were pressed for time and let Julian know we needed to be out within an hour. We ordered the crab cake entrée and two salads, and he made sure everything came out quickly so we could comfortably stay within our timeframe. I always order the Caesar salad whenever I come to RC, and it's consistently good every time. Unfortunately, it was our first, and definitely our last, time ordering the crab cakes. The texture was very mushy and the flavor was really lacking. We actually ended up using the Caesar dressing as a makeshift remoulade because the crab cakes were so bland. I'll definitely be sticking to my usual favorites next time.

My husband and I have been to this location 3 times. Both times are when they had the 3 course for $65 deal. Our first time, was great. The first time was great. Food was great and excellent service. Second time, food was great also. We love the caesar salad! The third time, the food was ok. My steak was more on the well done side instead of medium well. Also, I think we were over charged. It was our fault for not double checking our receipt, but at the same time for being a high end restaurant, our waitress should've made sure received the correct bill. We didn't bring the receipt home so it's too late to dispute it now. It's worth it to try when there are the 3 course meal deals.

It's bee while since I have been here. They are always pretty good before. We came here for one of my Daughter's Birthdays. I mad reservations. We arrived and were seated right away. The place was more or less empty. I think there were two tables with customers. They put us all the way in the back of the dining room at a round table since there were five of us. They brought us water and the server introduced herself and took our drink orders. She came back and we all gave our orders and then she left. It was sometime before she returned and I was out of water and my iced tea. I had to ask one of the guy who brought my daughters soup to get another one. The server came back with both the water and tea and left us a pitcher of water so we wouldn't runout. Our food came and the steaks were sizzling as always. The ribeye was much better tasting than my T-bone. I still enjoyed it. The French onion soup had a large crouton in the middle of it. My daughter wished there was more onions in it. They brought out a Birthday dessert for my daughter which was really nice. All was just ok . Not the usual as like I remember . Still good but I think the quality had gone down a little. Nothing really special.

I've been here a few times for work dinners. Most recently had the 16oz rib eye with grilled shrimp. The grilled shrimp were amazing-gigantic, succulent, and delicious-they were actually my favorite part of the meal! The ribeye was cooked well too-especially with the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The goat cheese and artichoke dip was also tasty-rich and hearty, perfect by itself or with the accompanying toasted bread. Great place for a special event-just at times parking can be difficult.

Always heard of Ruth's but never actually been until now. We got there before the lunch rush so it wasn't too busy. The service was amazing and super attentive. They really made sure everything was running smoothly. We ordered a lot, but the standout for me was the seabass with the honey soy flavor. So good. I love veggies, and it came with mushrooms and onions which I enjoyed. The mac and cheese was great, and the sweet potato crumble was also really good. We got a few appetizers too. The calamari was really tasty, especially with the sauce it comes with, which was basically a sweet and sour vibe. The garlic bread with goat cheese was also delicious. More of a bread and dip situation, but I'm never mad about cheese. They also brought champagne glasses to the table, and they have bar drinks too. I'm sure they have other alcoholic options, but we definitely enjoyed a few beverages.

Ruth's Chris Steak House delivers pure elegance and power from the moment you walk in. Every detail feels intentional--the golden lighting, the low hum of jazz, and that unmistakable sizzle from a 500-degree plate. Knowing the story behind it--that Ruth Fertel, a single mom, mortgaged her home in 1965 to buy a small New Orleans steakhouse--makes each bite feel like part of a legacy built on courage and perfection. The filet arrives seared to its edge and melts like butter, while the lobster mac and cheese and creamed spinach bring a comforting richness that never feels heavy. The service moves with quiet confidence, attentive without hovering, and each course lands right on cue. You can sense a culture that still carries Ruth's original hospitality--warm, proud, and precise. This isn't just dinner; it's a master class in timeless dining. The kind of place you celebrate milestones, sip a perfect Old Fashioned, and remember that some traditions are worth savoring forever.

My husband and I usually end up sitting at the bar for a quick meal since we're always short on time. The last few times, we placed to go orders online and paid through Apple Pay. When we arrived to pick up the food, they still asked to see the physical card and an ID for security reasons. The challenge is that with Apple Pay you never actually use or carry the physical card, so it makes the whole process a bit inconvenient. It would be great if they updated their verification process for mobile payments so guests aren't digging through accounts or explaining why they don't have a card they didn't use. It feels like a lot of extra steps just to pick up two steak sandwiches. Overall, we're still fans of Ruth's Chris and will definitely continue coming back. A small update to the to go payment process would make the experience even smoother.

Service was top notch Andrea is phenomenal! Attentive without intruding. Ambiance was perfect! They put fresh red rose petals on the table for our anniversary! There was a special decorated menu for anniversaries too! Same menu just decorated. Also, they provided a beautiful complimentary anniversary cheesecake dessert! I posted a photo of it so make sure to check it out! Food was delicious, fresh and tasty. Andrea checked back after we cut into our steaks to ensure they were cooked to our specifications and they were! This is the perfect place to enjoy a romantic anniversary dinner! We also had drinks and appetizers in the bar before going to our dinner table reservation in the dining room. I posted photos of the happy hour pricing, remember you need to eat/drink in bar area to get happy hour prices. Bar area is first come first served and fills up fast so get there a few minutes before they open to ensure your spot in the bar area. Thank you Andrea for making our experience so amazing!

Ruth's Chris Steak House Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Ruth's Chris Steak House

How should I dress, Would I need to dress business casual? This willl be my first time going

Business casual is fine. However, I have been in very casual clothes in the past (shorts & t shirts) and I was not turned away.

Does this location offer a happy hour menu?

Yes, they do. It changes often but normally an appetizer, burger or sliders, a steak sandwich, a salmon or crab sandwich , 1 or 2 cocktail specials , and select wines & beers. They have it posted on their website

Which location is best, Sacramento or Roseville?

    Sacramento

How much is corkage for a standard size wine bottle?

    2023 - $25

Is this particular location for indoor dining?

Yes, they're at 25% capacity for indoor dining right now, and hoping to get to 50% soon. Best to call ahead for reservations

Are you allowed to bring in your own wine? How much is the corkage fee?

Yes and of 2023 it is $25

    How dressy is it?

It's not as dressy as you might think. The last time I went, I was only 1 of 3 people in a suit and tie. Most people were dressed pretty casual.

If ppl in my family don't want to dress formal is casual attire acceptable I'm turning 50 and I want to have my birthday dinner there?

I'd say, who gives a f**k what other people think about you and what you wear. Your paying them to eat right? I went in casual clothing. They treated me just the same as the others, other than the hostess 😂

EDITED: Are reservations required for a mid-week lunch?

    I don't think it's required, but preferred.

Is this place kids friendly ? My Kids age are 12 and 14 year old and I have already reservation thank you.

Actually Ruth's Chris does have a children's menu, we have been going there for years with our kids, their kids menu is great, it is on their website!

The prices, though are a little bit higher than I expected . For instance, there was an heirloom tomato salad on the menu for $24. Once you throw in tax and tip, you're looking at over $10 for a half glass of wine. Walking out, I was talking to one of the neighbors here and asked if he had been. He said that it seemed a bit pricey for him and that he'd rather have a glass at home. I did see the table next to us order a carrot dish that looked quite interesting. I think this place would be great for a date night rather than a casual night out for instance or if you're just tired of sitting at home solo drinking lol.

We arrived a bit late (an hour early) for the trivia night, which begins at 6:30pm. Staff is always…read moreextraordinarily accommodating as we show up in a group of six. While a booth would be preferable as they can accommodate a group our size, those are prized on Trivia night. This evening, staff brought an additional four stools to the bar so we could all sit. They were out of the "Jackrabbit done gone working(?) Pilsner" so, I ordered the lager. On the special list was a rib eye, but I didn't care for the sides (garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus), so I went with the New York off the main menu which included herbed butter, mashed potatoes, heirloom tomato with crumbled gorgonzola. Steak was done to medium rare perfection, potatoes delicious and I very much enjoyed the tomatoes. Katie ordered a salad, She and JJ shared her margarita pizza. It was huge. We brought some home. Didn't see what the others ordered but all enjoyed their food and drinks. Trivia here is a ton of fun. Friends have hired the emcee for private gatherings. The stress over seating may have us seeking out another venue.

One of my friends swears by this spot, and now that I've been a few times, I totally get the hype…read more It's a charming little place tucked away in plain sight, and honestly, it's the perfect combo of good food, strong drinks, and laid-back vibes. I usually grab a seat at the bar. It's got that fun, mellow energy that makes it a great place to chill and catch up. The service is consistently solid, and everything just feels easy and relaxed. This time around, we hit up the happy hour menu and ordered a few appetizers. The nachos were solid, but the cheese bread stole the show. So. Freaking. Good. Totally worth the carb splurge (even if tomorrow me might have some regrets... today me has zero). If you're into low key spots that check all the boxes without trying too hard, this one's definitely worth checking out

I really enjoyed this space. We came here on a Thursday at 11 AM. There's a huge parking lot for…read morefree! The atmosphere was amazing. They even had a little area to take your dog if they needed to go potty. This is a very dog friendly area for well-behaved dogs. It's really cool that they have seven different restaurants to choose from. We went to the okey-dokey burgers. They tasted great! But if you don't like onions, I would pass or ask for no onions. I was a little overwhelmed with the amount of onions, but that was me not them. This place had a great selection of beers. The bartender was extremely helpful in helping me choose my beer. I'm hoping this place decides to do a brunch menu someday or get their liquor license then I would be there every day ha ha. I'll definitely be going back.

It was such a nice and cozy comfy environment to be in and for the community to gather. I loved the scenery and how laidback everything looked. It just looked like one big ol party. Parking was a bit difficult or mainly entering the parking lot was. The garden at the line is kinda tucked away and i couldnt find the entrance to parking at first. Anyways we sat more at the indoor section near the bar so we were able to hear each other. It was very easy to make an order through the QR code posted at our table. I ordered the brisket only pho along with a vietnamese coffee from Hangover Noodles and it arrived probably like 10 minutes later? Time went by working on project so I'm not too sure but I dont think I was waiting too long. It tasted really good. I enjoyed the broth and LOVED the noodle to meat ratio!!! I was pleasantly surprised.
