Terrell was working behind the bar and made some absolute delicious and strong cocktails. Super friendly and gracious guy. They had a great playlist going the entire time. This was once my favorite steakhouse in Sacramento, but after our most recent visit, we won't be returning. When I choose to spend several hundred dollars on dinner, I'm paying for more than just the food. I expect an upscale dining experience with a certain level of atmosphere, professionalism, and standards. Unfortunately, that is no longer what we experienced. The restaurant appeared to have no meaningful dress code, with guests wearing attire such as cut-off shorts, sweatpants, and crop tops. While every business can choose its own policies, this created an atmosphere that felt far removed from the refined dining experience Ruth's Chris once offered. I also felt that the service lacked the polish and attention to detail that I had come to expect over the years. The food was still good, but at these prices, good food alone is not enough. What makes this especially disappointing is that this used to be my favorite steakhouse in Sacramento. The combination of declining standards, a less refined atmosphere, and inconsistent service no longer justifies the premium cost. We got lucky and got a table for our party of seven in the first come, first served bar dining area. We were originally planning our party's dinner in a nearby restaurant until my mom suddenly saw Ruth's Chris and said she wanted Ruth's Chris for dinner and asked me to check if they had a table by chance. When I saw they had two empty tables, Benjamin R, who turned out to be our outstanding sever, quickly helped us to put two tables together for our party! Our server was on top of it, so much that certain things like getting our dessert choices down and bringing us to-go containers before we even asked. It was a busy evening, but Benjamin kept checking on us and making sure we were taken care of! As usual, the $60 Ruth's Chris three course meal is a winner! I ordered the filet mignon with shrimp for just a little extra charge, which is always worth it to me, especially with how juicy and delicious this surf and turf type dish is. Our cheesecake was perfection, as it was extremely decadent and had less crust, more cheesecake, which is how our party likes it! My 7-year-old Goddaughter ordered fries and mac 'n cheese and said to my mom, "Good choice choosing this restaurant! I think this is my fav mac 'n cheese!" I had such high hopes for Ruth Chris Steakhouse. The food was good. For the price range, I expected a true fine dining experience. I've been to other Ruth Chris locations and my opinion stays the same. While Ruth Chris is renowned for their steaks, I felt that their menu was basic. I guess that's to be expected because they're a chain. However, we were here for a holiday dinner and my fellow diners don't go to upscale restaurants often so this was a treat. We started off with the with the Seafood Tower, which was a sight to behold, even for me. It consisted of lobster, crab, prawns and poke. While the presentation was impressive and serving sizes were great, the taste was ok. The sauces served with the seafood were classic cocktail sauce and zesty aioli. My personal favorite was the poke. For my salad, I had their classic Caesar which I've had before and it was everything a true Ceasar should be: garlicky, tart, salty in a creamy sauce. My main entree was the 16 oz ribeye. Our sides included the lobster mac n cheese, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts and cremini mushrooms. The advantage of a large party is being able to try lots of dishes. The group fave was the sweet potato casserole. The lobster mac n cheese was too rich and you can only eat a little bit. For dessert, we got everything: carrot cake, chocolate lava cake, cheesecake, creme brule and bread pudding. Group fave was the carrot cake. The service was attentive especially since we bought several rounds of cocktails. Our bill was pretty hefty. The dinner was good, but the offerings were pretty basic. There wasn't anything unique or innovative on their menu. Did I enjoy my meal? I did. We came here to celebrate my birthday. We were a bit early to the reservation so some of our party went to the bar area for a drink and an appetizer, and the server there was kind and attentive. Once seated for dinner, Tionelle was our server - super sweet and friendly. Loved her voice, like it was just so soothing. I love how they put birthday confetti on the table. It's a small but thoughtful gesture. She checked on us often which I appreciated, and was observant that I was low on my soft drink and promptly brought me another. I love when the staff anticipates your needs because I was going to ask for another. I usually get the ribeye but opted for the filet and was cooked to perfection. I did get a lobster tail accompaniment and it was a bit on the salty side from the seasoning on top. I absolutely love salt but in this case I think the kitchen was a little heavy handed there, but once dipped in butter, it was better. The lobster mac n cheese was missing flavor IMO, definitely lacked salt and seasoning here :( The complimentary birthday dessert was cute and always love when they write Happy Birthday. We had birthday cake waiting for us at home so we skipped ordering desserts but everyone in our group ended their meal with a coffee beverage. Had a great dining experience overall. My husband and I were seated in what felt like a private room off to the side of the restaurant, with a nice picture window. We had the entire section to ourselves, which made the experience feel really exclusive and relaxed. Julian was our server and he was attentive and provided excellent service. My husband and I usually order the three-course meal, but we were pressed for time and let Julian know we needed to be out within an hour. We ordered the crab cake entrée and two salads, and he made sure everything came out quickly so we could comfortably stay within our timeframe. I always order the Caesar salad whenever I come to RC, and it's consistently good every time. Unfortunately, it was our first, and definitely our last, time ordering the crab cakes. Second time, food was great also. We love the caesar salad! The third time, the food was ok. My steak was more on the well done side instead of medium well. Also, I think we were over charged. It was our fault for not double checking our receipt, but at the same time for being a high end restaurant, our waitress should've made sure received the correct bill. It's bee while since I have been here. They are always pretty good before. We came here for one of my Daughter's Birthdays. I mad reservations. We arrived and were seated right away. The place was more or less empty. I think there were two tables with customers. They put us all the way in the back of the dining room at a round table since there were five of us. They brought us water and the server introduced herself and took our drink orders. She came back and we all gave our orders and then she left. It was sometime before she returned and I was out of water and my iced tea. I had to ask one of the guy who brought my daughters soup to get another one. The server came back with both the water and tea and left us a pitcher of water so we wouldn't runout. Our food came and the steaks were sizzling as always. The ribeye was much better tasting than my T-bone. I still enjoyed it. The French onion soup had a large crouton in the middle of it. My daughter wished there was more onions in it. The grilled shrimp were amazing-gigantic, succulent, and delicious-they were actually my favorite part of the meal! My husband and I usually end up sitting at the bar for a quick meal since we're always short on time. The last few times, we placed to go orders online and paid through Apple Pay. When we arrived to pick up the food, they still asked to see the physical card and an ID for security reasons. The challenge is that with Apple Pay you never actually use or carry the physical card, so it makes the whole process a bit inconvenient. It would be great if they updated their verification process for mobile payments so guests aren't digging through accounts or explaining why they don't have a card they didn't use. Now I'm conflicted because I think it's way way way over priced but it was the best most succulent moist lamb chops I've ever had in my life. So that's why I'm conflicted, so that's why I gave it 4 stars. The bread was excellent and I love bread. We was never offered more I dont know if they give you more than one. The mash potatoes and lobster Mac were a bit disappointing too and lacking flavor as well. The mash potatoes actually didn't seem like homemade. I enjoyed the service and ambiance but the food here needs some improvement. Also, the water had some weird nasty aftertaste like it was from the tap. I did really enjoy the bread pudding and Brussel sprouts. Would I go back? Probably not. That's how I gauge if it was good. Food was great, the filets we ordered were very juicy, drinks were good, the desserts were amazing and our server was attentive, I think her name was Cindy. They should place to go bags on the table and not behind our heads, we did forget to grab it, but I'll say that's on us for forgetting to grab them. Now the reason why I gave three stars. First of all it started rocky when the brunette hostess at the front desk with braces called my name wrong (George) and I corrected her by saying "It's Jorge". That's all I said to her and she just gave me a nasty look, like as if I had just insulted her. Idk what her problem is but from reading the other reviews, some of the hostess have attitude problems. The second big issue was that the person who brought our filet plates over did not inform us that the plates were extremely hot, I'm not sure if they have the plates in the oven before placing the filets on top. I burned my finger and after this happened, they casually say, "oh, use a napkin. The plates are very hot". Too late for that. End of the night we exited and none of the 3-4 hostess say "have a good night, thank you for coming". It must've been a busy night because the parking was pretty full. Once we entered, we checked in and they required at least 80% of our party to be there before we were Sat. Once seated, we were greeted by two servers who introduced themselves and let us know to be cautious with the " hot plates". We ordered several appetizers for the table, including the crabcakes, spicy shrimp, and calamari. I highly recommend ordering the calamari and the spicy shrimp. They brought a complementary bread which was so fresh and warm and addicting with the butter. If ordering wine, I recommend ordering the 9 ounce pour because it'll last you throughout dinner. I tried the espresso martini, and it was a perfect balance between the liquor and the espresso. I ordered the ribeye, medium well. I was expecting it to have a little more juicy fat in it but had good flavor. It was a good sized cut of meat. I added a lobster to it, which I thought was a bit too salty. I will say the sides are really good. I highly recommend the mushrooms, mac & cheese, and potatoes. I've had the cream spinach, but I didn't get to taste at this time. The brussels sprouts were pretty good. I tried the yams and they were super creamy and sweet, which were better than expected. For dessert, I had the crème brûlée and it's the best. The bread pudding was super soft and sweet. Everyone loved it. The service was great. The servers were attentive and checked on us frequently. July is always special for me because I get to celebrate my birthday and my anniversary. This July is especially amazing because I'm pregnant with my first son! One thing I love is steak, but I usually don't go to steak restaurants because my husband isn't a big fan. However, my pregnancy cravings for steak have been strong, so we decided to check out Ruth's Chris. I'm so glad we did! The food was simply amazing, and the customer service was outstanding. Our experience started with Michael, who walked us to our table, and Terell, who brought us water. Then Brandon, our server, truly stole the show. I really loved his energy; it was just wonderful! The recommendations were spot on, and my food was simply amazing. We had so much to eat, but the standout dishes were the chicken and the sweet potato casserole. The crabcakes were also incredible! They even decorated the table nicely and made everything look cute and fancy to celebrate my birthday and anniversary. It meant a lot to me. Since I'm due to have my baby any day now, we will definitely come back once he arrives. I was so full that I had to take my cheesecake home; I didn't even have a chance to try it! We love RC and come to the Pavilions location often. We celebrated Valentines Day there had a great meal. The service was ok. Our server seemed new or rushed, he kept forgetting things. For example, our dessert was included in our meal but he brought us a dessert menu & then came back & said we could only order the chocolate sin cake. Then forgot my rose & when he came he said to my husband, was going to give it to her but I see she's not here so I'll let you take credit for it.". Then he said, enjoy your birthday I mean Valentines Day. Also the waiter that brought our food went to three different tables before coming to our table with our food. Said he forgot his contacts? Came and had brunch with my fiance on Father's Day. The service was great. The food was delicious. They made the steaks medium rare although we asked for medium, but it was still good. The music was also great. I danced in my seat the entire time I ate. Will be back. read more

My husband and I decided to come here to celebrate completing our taxes on 3/25. There was a short line of people waiting outside since they don't open until 4pm. We decided to sit in the bar area in a half booth for Happy Hour. Bailey came by and took our drink and appetizer order. I got a Blueberry Mojito $12hh which wasn't as good as I recall before. It was a bit tangy and didn't have any mint muddled into the drink, only a sprig for garnish. They didn't have very many choices of beer on tap which seemed odd, so my hubby had to settle for a Stella Artois $8hh which was just ok. We both got a Ruth's Chop salad $19ea which we always love. We also decided to try their Goat Cheese Artichoke Dip $15hh which was good. I tried a Lemon Drop drink next $12hh but I just happened to see the waitress pour the drink into the glass at the bar and part of it poured out the opposite side of the glass, so of course it wasn't even full when she brought it to our table. For main courses my husband got the Filet $71 and added the Blue Cheese crust $8 which he enjoyed. I had the Crab Stuffed Mushrooms $25 which were yummy! We got 3 yummy sides: Sweet Potato Casserole $17, Garlic Mashed Potatoes $16, and the Lobster Mac n Cheese $34 which was rather pricey, but it was a larger size, and tasted good. The half booth in the bar ended up being way to close to other tables, which made it hard getting in/out. The older couple right next to us were quite annoying, and the large party in the big round booth were quite loud. It was hard to hear each other talk it was so loud in the bar. Happy hour does offer great prices, but we might have to rethink this next time. As I walked to the restroom I happened to notice there was only 1-2 tables of people eating in the main dining area. The women's restroom still had loose toilet seats just like it did several years ago. read more
