I've been eating at Mos for years. All I can say is that I love it; this is my comfort food. When it comes to eating, I can be adventurous and try new and different things. But I can also be a creature of habit and the vanilla side of me (AKA safe and boring) often emerges. Mos brings out the latter side. "I'll have the #1 (chicken teriyaki plate), no skin, double salad." Every time. $6.80. Every time. Extra teriyaki sauce and Tapatio hot sauce. You guessed it... every time. I replace the egg roll and gyoza that comes in the combo plate with more salad. The reasons for this are two-fold: 1. It makes me feel like I'm eating healthier by avoiding the fried stuff. 2. Their dressing is SO good. I always ask for an extra side of dressing so I can douse my salad with it. Sometimes I want to ask what it's made of but I don't because I want it to always have that mysterious quality to it. The food comes out quickly and is consistently good... and filling. Cash only. This place is simply amazing! !! Best place to get teriyaki chicken/beef... Their menu is not that big, but it's delicious best believe! !! The plates are usually served with white rice, a little side of salad, an egg roll (veggie), dumpling, &onion to top it of. I usually get the half &half (chicken &beef) one of the most popular plates. The only thing that I don't like about this &other MOS restaurants is that they only accept cash. This place is awful these days, I went there this morning and i ordered 2 combos, everything was good until I got home and opened the box I wa alike WTF!! Both combos were so empty , rice was almost nothing, my chicken was like 4 pcs and no onion like really? Not even enough salad on the side. I was very disappointed about portions. One of the best places in orange county. Love getting food from here, anything on the menu is very delicious. Super fast service, great food good prices. My favorite place for lunch, come here very often with friends and colleagues. Keep coming back for the amazing Mexican food here. The teriyaki's are out of this world. This place is damn good. Looks aren't everything and the menu is very simple. But just like In-n-Out, a simple menu means the food is very tasty! I always get the chicken and beef combo plate here and it comes w/ the dumplings, eggroll, salad and ginormous amounts of diced beef and chicken over a bed of rice. The eggrolls and dumpllings aren't anything special, but the meat is what its all about! You can really taste the char on the meat and that makes it all the more flavorful. The tapatio and teryaki sauce that comes with it is to die for as well. I like to dump everything in and mix it around and just inhale it. Mmmmmmm. Pretty random. Right next to the Santa DMV? We found ourselves here after a quick trek to the Santa Ana zoo. This place fills up quick! I ordered the seafood combo and my sister ordered chicken teriyaki and fried oysters. You get a dumpling and an eggroll with each combo. The seafood was ok. The oysters were so juicy and definitely the highlight of my meal. I tasted some of my sister's teriyaki chicken and it was pretty good. Easily two meals out of one combo. read more

Teriyaki chicken + rice + Tapatio = Tasty Goodness! This place is a great "hole in the wall" teriyaki bowl joint. It's super cheap and the chicken is tasty. Ask for green onions on your teriyaki bowl and you won't be disappointed. They have sizes that range from small to extra large. It's only a couple cents difference, so you might as well go for the large and get your money's worth, right? You'll have leftovers if you go for the large. It's a small place so it's better to take it to go and eat it somewhere else. The picnic tables and the inside tables are limited. Service is quick here, just in case you have a limited lunch break. 2 1/2 Stars (Just Average) Mos No. 2 is pretty decent for a teriyaki place but it's nothing too special. Compared to a lot of the plain jane teriyaki joints around where it looks like the meat has been boiled, it is far tastier. In the handful of times I've gone there I've tried the teriyaki beef, chicken and pork plates. They do give you some generous portions of meat along with a small salad and a few appetizers. I like the chared grill taste of the meat. The sauces are pretty good too as they offer some teriyaki and jot sauce. I usually pour both onto my plate for additional flavor. The only drawback is that the quality of meat is nothing to write home about. I've often found a lot of grissle, fat and other undesirable bites in my plates. In addition to the meat bowls I like their fried oysters. Again not great but alright for a hole in a wall fast food place. While overall I do like coming here if I'm in the area and looking for a large order of meat but the quality is such that I would not at all add it to my regular rotation of places to eat. read more

I've never ventured past the beef and chicken, but a lot of people do seem to get the fried fish and oysters. The beef is thinly sliced and julienned. The chicken is grilled and diced. Sometimes you'll find a lot of skin on the chicken pieces. I think non-crispy skin is gross, but to each his own. The bowls come in 3 sizes and the large is quite large. Another thing to note is that the parking situation is a little tough. I've had problems finding parking during the lunch rush. That being said, it's a good place for teriyaki bowls/plates. I drove past this place on my way to the office for perhaps 4 years before giving it a shot. My colleagues and I got hooked on it, and hit it up weekly. The chicken teriyaki with rice and salad is pretty darn good. The chicken is well flavored, teriyaki sauce nice, the salad fresh and the dressing tasty. I don't like chicken skin; asking for minimal skin is hit or miss, depending on who is doing the chopping. I order a side of the gyoza every now and then as a treat. The only complaint would be the access and parking...it can get crowded. The only question that remains is if the name sounds like "Moes" or "Moss". My dear Wife and I argue often about this. Today I went to buy a chicken plate. I have always raved about how good the food there is and why i enjoy pouring some of the salad dressing on my actual chicken as well to enhance the flavor. Today though I was hugely disappointed in the dressing. It was either very greasy or watery to where if it sat for a few seconds you could see it separating from the milky stuff and the clear stuff.. The last time I had Mos No1 was about three years ago! I happened to come across Mos No 2 when driving through Grand where the DMV was and decided to try this location out. The first thing I noticed was the smell, it hasn't changed at all! I decided to order the chicken and beef plate and my tastes buds loved me for it this morning! They have the right about of char on the meat and you could really taste it. The teriyaki wasn't too sweet and if you want it more sweet, no problem, they give you extra sauce if you like it saucy!
