There is no way this place deserves high rating. I ordered the chicken and beef combo. Chicken and beef were both dried out and greasy. The beef had more of a burned taste. What a disappointment as far as customer service at the Grand location. Placed an order requesting no onions on my plates. Received my food with onions :(. He refused to correct his mistake and his response was "Well I didn't hear you so I didn't write it down". He then pushed off my food and started taking another order from the person in back of me. I was on the way to work and had about 10 mins. I walked in behind two women who ordered and were gone in about 2 mins. I had placed my order for a small pork bowl to go right after them. Another person came in and ordered two plates and got them. About 9 mins. into this, a guy came in and ordered a bowl. I saw the cook make it for him. He got it and left. 12 mins. after I got there, I got my money back (no food), minus the 90 cent tip I had dropped in the tip jar when I ordered, and went to work. I hate to think it, but I was the only white guy in the place the whole time and feel I was discriminated against. I was born and raised in the area and have never felt that way before. It has been several years since I have eaten at MOS 2 restaurant and was extremely dissatisfied with the overall quality of food. just yesterday, I ordered a large chicken bowl to go and when I sat down to eat my food, it tasted old, dry and over cooked. I called today to express my concerns and was told manager/owner was out, but I could stop by to see what they could do. When I arrived I explained the poor quality of my food and was told I should have returned the food to see the problem. I explained how I took it to go and if they could just remake a bowl, but fresh this time. I was offered a small bowl. TL;DR: Overcooked or burnt are the options for your meal. Tastes like a proctologists office. Upside: I didn't get mugged coming out of the place. I don't know what some of the people here are smoking. I was starved and decided to try this place tonight based on the Yelp reviews. The only possible reason to eat here is because you are stuck at the DMV next door. The "teriyaki sauce" is poorly made syrup, the meat was bargain basment cheap and overcooked. The rice was dry. The egg rolls tasted like they had been re-frozen twice before being dumped into old cooking oil. All in all, a really bad experience. Amazingly, I actually think you'd be better off grabbing a teriyaki bowl from Yoshinoya instead of here. If you need to get your Japanese fix on, California Sushi & Teriyaki is like 4 blocks away or Honda Ya (a bit more $) is about a mile away. Neither of them serve garbage. I found this place while I was at the DMV yesterday, Dmv was a few hours wait. As I was waiting outside, I was reading a book, and felt hungry from the smell of charbroiled meet, it smelled tasty. This place is literally right next to the Dmv. I ordered a drink and the chicken bowl. I really really liked it. It kinda reminded me of Flame Broiler which is a favorite fast food place I frequent. Based solely on the taste, Mos No 2 is a notch better! It's flame broiled fresh and and they serve it hot off the grill. One of my FAVORITE lunch spots to hit up in Santa Ana. Order a Chicken Terriyaki plate with Fried Oysters, extra tapatio / hot sauce and you are GOOD TO GO. This order will be less than 10 bucks and unless you are a fatty (like me), you'll probably have some leftovers to take home. The only thing that sucks is their lack of parking. I love this place! Ive been eating here ever since I was a kid. The food is so good. So simple but so much flavor and authentic. Its similar to flame broiler but MOS NO2 i sooooo much better. Every time I'm in town i have to stop by and get a bowl. The pricing is very good for a bowl. It used to be cheaper back then but as things went up so did they but they are still very very affordable. If your not sure wether or not to try this place out I am telling you now TRY THIS PLACE OUT. You won't be sorry! My usual is the chicken bowl!
