Our first meal of a two-week stay in Miami brought us to Motek at Aventura Mall, a bustling Mediterranean spot that seems designed for people who appreciate both good food and good people-watching. We started with the roasted eggplant, dressed with tahini, sumac, pine nuts, pickled onions, and topped with a fried boiled egg. It was served with warm lavash bread fresh from the oven. The eggplant itself was excellent, smoky and silky, while the tahini added richness and the pine nuts contributed a welcome crunch. The pickled onions, however, arrived with all the subtlety of a car alarm, dominating bites when they should have been supporting them. The fried boiled egg felt more decorative than necessary, adding little beyond curiosity. For my entrée, I ordered The Brooklyn, Motek's interpretation of bagels and lox. Instead of a bagel, the smoked salmon arrives tucked inside a toasted Jerusalem baguette coated with sesame seeds. It's an oversized sandwich that requires commitment. Fortunately, it rewards the effort. The smoked salmon was excellent, but the real star was the chive cream, which tied everything together with a bright, savory richness. The toasted baguette added texture and a nutty flavor that worked surprisingly well with the traditional lox accompaniments. A side of street corn provided a welcome change of pace. Roasted kernels coated in spices and mayo delivered a creamy, slightly smoky bite that balanced the meal nicely. Even better were the house-made pickles, which brought just enough heat and acidity to refresh the palate between bites of salmon and cream cheese. Motek delivered a meal with a few uneven moments, but its strengths were substantial enough to outweigh its flaws. Like many trendy restaurants, it occasionally mistakes excess for excitement, but when it focuses on flavor rather than flourish, it gets things right. A stylish Mediterranean stop that shines brightest when it keeps things simple.
Someone had suggested Motek being that we were going to Aventura mall. It was way in the back of the mall by the Apple Store. Great location and vibes. The food was super tasty and creative, with beautiful presentations. The pricing was more on the expensive side, this is the kind of place that will charge you for rice as a side and does not offer a combination appetizer of their amazing hummus. That being said the food was super tasty just know you may have to order separate sides. The service was fantastic. They were super on It and made sure there were no allergies related to the food they were bringing and they were on top of everything. I would highly recommend checking Motek if you're in the Aventura area they have a lot of seating so it is a great place for a celebration or family gathering.
My daughter and I decided to try Motek because it was busy and looked promising. They were offering their regular menu along with a limited brunch menu. My daughter ordered the French toast and politely asked if the fruit and condiments could be served on the side. Erwin greeted us and was very friendly, but mentioned the chef might not accommodate the request. We started with the fresh hummus appetizer, which was genuinely delicious and the highlight of the meal. I ordered the recommended Wagyu burger, expecting a high-quality, flavorful experience. Unfortunately, it arrived overcooked, extremely salty, and had a gamey taste. I was very disappointed. No one checked on us after the food arrived, so I did not mention it and barely ate any of it. My daughter's French toast arrived with everything on top despite the request, and it was mediocre at best. Overall, this was not the experience I was expecting. I felt unwell for the rest of the day after eating the burger. When the bill arrived, it totaled over $90, and a 20% service charge had already been added. I typically tip that amount, but I prefer to do so at my discretion, especially when service is lacking. The restaurant itself is beautiful, but the food quality and service did not match the setting or the price. I would not recommend Motek unless you're just going for the hummus. Overall, the experience was lackluster, with poor service and food that felt overpriced for the quality.
This is easily one of my favorite restaurants ever. I left a previous review, but I have to come back and leave another! I try to go to Motek when I'm in Miami because the food is absolutely amazing. Every dish is so flavorful and it's just the vibes that I'm looking for when I want a good Mediterranean meal. Last time I was there, we went for their happy hour, which is a great deal. You get to choose from a bunch of small dishes and a lovely drink menu. The prices are great, and the food is even better! The service and ambience is also lovely. Everyone there feels very welcoming and happy to recommend dishes/knowledgeable of the menu. I usually sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Florida weather, but they also have a cute indoor area. I'm always so happy with my experience at Motek and I highly recommend making it a priority to stop here if you're in the area!
I had such a great experience at Motek Aventura! I sat outside and they have a really nice atmosphere. I ordered the Feta Greek salad and hummus... simple and amazing. Honesty, it was the best hummus I've ever had, so fresh and flavorful. Finished off with lavender ice cream. My waiter was amazing -- super friendly, helpful with my order, and very accommodating to my dietary needs. It made the whole meal even better. I'll definitely be coming back soon!
4 stars for the food 1 star for the manager interaction We were really excited to try this place. As a family of seven, we came in for lunch and had a wonderful experience with our server -- she was friendly, attentive, and the overall dining atmosphere was great. Unfortunately, all of that was overshadowed by our interaction with the manager and the fact that our server cheated us by adding additional amount to our bill at the time of card swipe. A note for future diners: Double-check that you're being charged exactly what's on the bill. As is common in Miami, a 20% service charge was already included, and our server confirmed this. However, we later noticed an additional $20 added to our total that wasn't listed anywhere on the receipt. The server added that for herself without telling us. The meal was $451, and the extra charge simply didn't make sense. The manager insisted it was for an added dish, but no menu item matched that amount -- and we were also charged for items like fries that we never ordered. When we brought this up, the manager's response was dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of acknowledging the discrepancy or offering a proper explanation, he reacted with irritation and told the server to "get $20 cash and give it back to them," while still refusing to admit the charge had been added intentionally. To make matters worse, he later came running after us outside, asking us not to write about this experience. We apparently were given back $15 or so. As a Yelp Elite member for 14 years, I take honesty and transparency in reviews very seriously, and situations like this cannot be ignored. Adding to the concern, we also witnessed another older guest disputing her bill, making it clear this is not an isolated issue. For such a fancy and well-known restaurant, practices like this are unacceptable. Despite the excellent food, the experience left a terrible impression. I will NEVER return to this restaurant or any of its affiliated locations. Beware! And make sure to triple check the bill and the amount you are actually being charged.

Came here with my Jewish girlfriend and was hoping for an authentic Israeli meal. Did not disappoint The prices are a little steep for the size portions, but in the end, it's Aventura they've gotta pay their rent . Service was friendly . Meals were well plated . Delicious food . We sat outside because the air conditioning --and it was a lovely evening, very sidewalk café, kind of ambience outdoor dining no traffic so it was lovely. I don't know what the inside look like next time I should go inside, but it was very well appointed and softcore, elegant. It was a bit pricey but the food was colorful and good. My company was great. We were treated well What else do you need from a restaurant?
Tried Motek Aventura and the food was genuinely impressive. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The only downside was the service. It wasn't terrible, but it did fall a little short. Slower than expected at times, and not as attentive as you'd hope for a restaurant with such great food. Nothing major, just small details that could definitely be tightened up. Overall, though, the food alone makes it worth visiting, and with a little improvement in service, this place could easily be a five-star spot
Updating my review since dining in their new location at Aventura Mall. Came here for Miami Spice and ordered the fried cauliflower, the spicy fish, and halva ice cream. The fried cauliflower was to die for (especially the honey sauce) and I totally forgot to take a picture before I almost ate it all. It was three giant pieces. The spicy fish was way too spicy and I would not recommend it. I was also not a fan of the halva flavor of ice cream. Service was attentive and good. Loved sitting in their outdoor area, beautiful ambiance.
While we were visiting Miami we came to have dinner at this place, we love Middle Eastern food an this place was amazing I liked the restaurant's vibe, but i liked even better the food, so yummy, It was very fresh, amazing and delicious! We had hummus with pita, was very well made and so fresh.. Maybe one of the best i have ever had. My main course was schwarma with some light steamed veggies, was so nice, and I also ordered a mixed salad side. It was so delicious!! enjoyed it.. For our children we got a chicken breast with fries, it was also very well made and so flavorful. We ll definitely be back some time when at the area..
We opted to check out Motek as we were at the mall and the ambiance looked immersive and the Yelp reviews were excellent. Juan Carlos was our server and he was delightful - great service with a smile. He explained the menu well and made sure our drinks were full and gave us helpful insight about the menu. Omg - the food! With the cocktails being so fresh and unique, I knew the food would follow. We had all appetizers and took home the lamb (which was WOW). We had the hummus and tzatziki with the bread to start. Seriously the best I've had. The hummus was super light and whipped. The tzatziki was clean and refreshing. Motek has become one of my go to spots to frequent and recommend in the Miami area. The food is all excellent and fresh. I went for lunch and love the falafel bowl. The portion was generous and each component of the bowl was delicious. My boyfriend loves the chicken schnitzel sandwich and orders it every time. The outdoor patio was also very pleasant and comfortable. However, the service was a bit spotty, despite the restaurant not being very busy.

Desired to visit this location for some time after my beautiful experience at the one in the Gables a while back. The decor is gorgeous, the service is sufficient (I wish the second bar tender, of Asian heritage, I met was my original one due to energy) and the drinks are pretty and delicious. Took a chance treating myself before happy hour and the hummus at this location was sadly not consistent with the taste quality, presentation and execution of the one in Coral Gables. I suffered in silence but saw several other beautiful dishes I would have preferred. The hummus here didn't look the same, was titled differently on the menu and had less ingredients than the original. The egg was also boiled and lightly batter fried outside which didn't hold up well, it was also super runny yolk and not nice and jammy like the first one. I ordered it expecting consistency. The laffa pita bread was absolutely delicious. I would certainly be back for happy hour and would have spent less for better options had I known better and waited until then. Had the hummus hit, it would have easily been a 5 star experience. Will review the happy hour in the future. read more

Conveniently located attached to Aventura mall, this Mediterranean Israeli restaurant is not a bad choice. Motek has a few locations sprouting across Miami, and I'd say this place matches the quality of the others. Both indoor and outdoor seating. I sat inside expecting a cooler experience; however, it felt warm. The crispy cauliflower is a great sweet start. I tried the cabbage salad and added some chicken which was grilled up quite nice. The first thing the waitress told us is that they are not Kosher certified, just fyi. This cute restaurant in Aventura Mall expanded our palette for Mediterranean food. I would not normally crave it, but now, I am obsessed. I'm excited to eat more and try more. So thank you Motek for that. We started with the Roasted Eggplant Hummus that comes with some amazing bread - not pita - airy fluffy but thick dough. It was fabulous - please someone tell me what it was I forgot even though I'm sure that I asked the waitress. I could eat 5 of those. We really came for the famous Arayes Burger which is like stuffed beef kebab in a pita cut in four slices. It was amazing!! The flavors of the beef were outstanding. It comes with a sauce that I wanted to smother it in. It is an interesting concept for a burger, but it definitely works. It so famous, it comes in a vegan option using Impossible meat - which I'm sure is equally good because I prefer Impossible meat to its competitors. Motek was better than anticipated. The first time we had Motek in Aventura was last year and we were thoroughly impressed with the service, ambience, and food. Our server last time was Hugo and he was on top of everything and so wonderful. Very accommodating as well. We got the Shakshuka and avocado toast last time. Both were divine. I must say the Shakshuka here is the best I've ever had. It had so much flavor and the challah was amazing. We sat outdoors and it was so beautiful out at the time. The patio is always busy. This time, we decided to sit indoors as it was way too hot and humid to sit outside. Our server was David and he was great. We ordered a few different items, including the chicken Shawarma platter, spicy salmon ceviche and fennel pomegranate salad. I saw photos of the chicken Shawarma and opted to try that. So happy we did because it was bomb! I loved that they cut the chicken into small bite-size pieces. The hummus was super smooth and creamy and fresh. The side salad was refreshing. I wish they gave more bread to dip with the hummus and for eating with the Shawarma. We only got one thin piece of naan underneath the chicken and we should've asked for more. The spicy salmon ceviche was on point! I'm so happy we decided to try that. I loved the added texture of bell peppers and other flavors in there. It didn't just taste like citrus but it had a punch of spice and good flavor all in all. Same with the ceviche dish, I wish they provided more bread to eat with the ceviche. The fennel pomegranate salad was also good and refreshing, but we were so full that we didn't get to finish it. I tried to pack the remaining salad, but it kept leaking so eventually I ended up tossing it, which seemed like a waste because I would have loved to finish the leftover later. I would highly recommend as it's a whole vibe here. We love Mediterranean food in general and this is always a good experience thus far. Check it out if you get a chance. Went to Motek after a day at the Mall and honestly, better than I was expecting. Israeli food can always ride a fine line and Motek does a little better. The hummus was smooth, but could have benefitted from a stronger flavor, it felt very light overall. Their famous pita burger, was a little too dry and felt overwhelming to go through. The fries were divine though, with a great crisp. The serve was great and the staff was friendly and for a mall restaurant it is super well decorated and enjoyable to be at. Motek is just too expensive for the food it serves even though everything was an ok/good bite. read more

I was told my fellow Yelp Elite Foodie that their happy hour was great! So when I was shopping I decided to come in for a cocktail and bites! The hostess was really sweet and sat me at the bar. It wasn't so busy for a Friday happy hour which is good. I ordered a refreshing cocktail that had gin in it. For $5 that's such a great deal. For bites I ordered the watermelon summer salad. Delicious and perfect for the Miami heat. Babaganoush served with warm pita bread and areyes burger bites. The burger was so juicy and yummy accompanied by dipping sauces! Everything was so good and the portions were perfect and fulfilling. The last thing I tried was the chicken shawarma that was so moist and be careful the juice of the sauces oozes out. Everything was delicious and the price was great for happy hour! They have a great ambience and love the outdoor patio area for people watching and also from the bar. And unfortunately for the high price we are paying for the food itself and all the delivery fees i was beyond surprised when i saw 1/3 of the normal portion size. Made a reservation through open table for a party of 2 on a Saturday night. Note: you can only make reservations 1 day prior to date of dining. Booked a table for 2 and had 2 options, which I opted for the "semi private indoor high top seating." Prior to our arrival I called the restaurant to inquire of their corkage fee. To my surprise it was an automated system that was able to answer my question however was shocked the corkage fee was $40 per bottle, which I find highly outrageous. Nonetheless, that did not deter us from dining. It was a bit of a nuisance that I received a text from the restaurant 30 minutes before our reservation, to let us know, just that. The parking situation is a bit problematic as the restaurant is attached to the outside of the mall and parking can get hectic. We were able to snag a parking spot but were going to be 5-10 min. Late for our reservation. I called the restaurant and received the same automation system which I requested to speak to the hostess, instead I was directed to leave a message and someone would return my phone call. I'm all for automated systems but not able to speak to someone directly to advise them we were on our way was concerning. Rushed over and made it to the hostess stand and was asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor dining. I was taken back since I felt that was reflected in our open table reservation. Opted to sit inside which was gorgeous, but a bit warm on a semi cool / comfortable Florida evening. Our server, unfortunately I did not get his name, was great and allowed us an opportunity to review the menu. Ordered the watermelon cooler which was refreshing. When it came to entrees ordered 2 different chicken dishes. The salad barely had any dressing and had to request more. Both chicken dishes itself were delicious in their own way. The shawarma is heavily seasoned with curry so if you're not a fan of that, opt for something different. While dining I asked our server for more napkins which I also never received, and had to use 1 single paper napkin the entire dinner. When it came to the check it seemed to take a while for our server to come to us. It seemed like all the work was done by food runners who came and delivered our orders. I'm not a snob, in any sort, especially when it comes to dining. However, I did have high expectations for this beautiful establishment especially based upon others positive reviews. I had a friend visiting from out of town who had heard about this Israeli eatery and was eager to try it. We decided to go for brunch, and everything was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is located on the side of the Aventura Mall, just beneath Tap 42. There's valet parking out front and self-parking conveniently located across the street near Publix. We had the option to dine inside or on their outdoor patio. My friends chose to eat indoors, but I couldn't help thinking that the people-watching on the patio would have been a fun experience. I was also impressed by their expansive bar and the available option to dine there. We started with the Berry Basil and Banana Tahini Silan smoothies. Both were incredibly delicious and filling. However, I made sure to pace myself because I knew the food would be the real highlight. Our first dish was the mushroom hummus served with wood oven-roasted flat pita, and it did not disappoint. Honestly, it was so good I could have ended the meal right there and been completely satisfied. But, of course, we kept going! Next, we shared the Israeli breakfast, which included incredibly flavorful wood-baked breads, shakshuka, and the malawach Yemeni pancake, which I absolutely loved. I finished the meal with an Americano coffee that was bold and strong, the perfect end to such a satisfying meal. Everything was fresh, flavorful, organic, and kosher. We had our end of the year office lunch here so it was quite a large group. It was previously reserved for a group event. The reservation process was very easy. All of the communication were done via email with menu choices and deposits processed online as well. We were sat outside in the patio area which is beautiful. It is under a roof so you're not under the sun and there are fans available as well. Thankfully it was a nice breezy day so that wasn't really necessary. The menus were placed on the plates for us and this was my favorite part of this experience. The food is served family style! So all the plates are brought out and you're able to taste a little of everything. It is great for group dining because not everyone is familiar with Mediterranean cuisine and some people are not as adventurous with eating. So it was nice to be able to have people taste some new things that were maybe out of their comfort zone. For Mezzes we had housemade pickles, babaganoush, classic hummus, grilled halloumi, falafel and Moroccan cigars. My favorite by far was actually the babaganoush. I was quite surprised by how delicious this was! The texture and flavor was immaculate! Most babaganoush dishes are sometimes gooey but this one was perfect! It's a must try. We also had the fennel pomegranate salad and the Israeli salad. I thought the fennel pomegranate salad was exceptional! It is such a unique salad and the combination of the fennel with the goat cheese is so delicious. For entrees we had the turkish lamb kebab and the harissa salmon which came accompanied with majadra rice & lentils and za'atar fries. Both the lamb and the salmon were so amazing. It's hard to pick one because the flavors are very different. But the fries..... OMG.... those fries are to die for. I could've eaten a basket of those things by myself! For dessert we had the Turkish baklava and the pistachio cheesecake. Both desserts were spectacular. The cheesecake comes in a little box so the presentation was real cute too. Also shoutout to the staff who constantly check on the table and kept both our water and wine flowing. They really worked hard to keep everything organized. Recently I went to Motek Aventura for Happy Hour and I was very pleased with my choice. The Happy Hour was only available at the bar, so no need to stop at the hostess desk to get a seat by the bar. The setting was so lush, pretty and inviting ... it was just a beautiful place to have a meal........The waitstaff was equally good looking and sharp dressed. It was a really relaxing and enjoyable experience. As soon as I sat down I was given a small bowl of complementary olives to snack while my order was being prepared. Nice touch. I got the Lahmajun chips ($5), which I thought they were some kind of snack chips, but they were round pieces of dough with minced meat and herbs on top, cut into thin strips like chips. They were just delicious...very meaty with a crisp dough on the outside. I also got the salmon skewers ($5)....nicely cooked chunks of salmon on a skewer, sitting on a bed of greens. Very delicate. I got the half chicken shawarma ($7) as well which came in a pita pocket....full of vegetables and chicken pieces...a bit more filling, equally delicious. I've been to MASSIVELY OVERPRICED restaurants that serve insultingly bad and shameful food before, but this place is one OF IF, NOT THE WORST example I've come across. Do they not have pita bread in Isreal? They do. And it's fantastic. This place slides a rock hard, inedible piece of what can only be described as thin cardboard under what they call "Shwarma". I assure you it is not Shwarma. It was blandly seasoned low quality chicken chopped into pieces on a cutting board, fat and cartilage included, and piled on that piece of cardboard AND they have the NERVE to call it Shwarma. And for $32!!! Shame on you. That item should be on a children's menu for $12. And even then I would say, it's terrible and disgusting and still a ripoff. The prices in this place are STAGGERING AND A COMPLETE RIPOFF. THE ENTIRE MENU is designed to rip you off. The menu reads, "ask about portions as the plates are designed for sharing". I asked how many bbq ribs come in the order for $33 as there were 6 of us; the server said 1. Shameless restauranture and executive chef. None of the sharable items are for more than 2 people. And by my calculations- if you go here with 4-6 people and order accordingly you will spend $600-$800. Just go to Joes's Stone Crab and spend $400. Or go to ANY kosher steakhouse and spend far less, get great food, reasonable portions and spend and $100-$150 a person. All including drinks. $10 for a beer?!?!? Where are we downtown Manhattan? A Michelin star restaurant? Absolutely not!! Far from it. The beef hummus- $24 and barely enough for 2 people to share. Barely 3oz of hummus and barely 1/2oz of ground beef for $24- and not a sharing portion for more than 2 people, so what- we are supposed to order 3 of these for 6 people to the tune of $75?!!!!?? For hummus with a little ground beef sprinkled on it ?!?! You disgust me. Shame on the owner. Shame on the chef. You should be mortified & embarrassed. It's ONE THING if the food is exemplary and high quality as well as the service and cleanliness. It would be a different story if you said, wow that was the best food I've had in a while, that's delicious. BUT NO! you are left thinking- this place is bad. Really bad! And they are out to take your money to pay the rent. How dare you? I NEVER THOUGHT I'D EVER SAY THIS- I would have rather gone upstairs to Serifina, & SERIFINA IS horrible . SMH. The server was asked is there anything gluten-free to dip in the hummus. He offered the "Crude-dites." Which turned out to be "crudités" pronounced "crew-dah-tay" its French. For raw veggies. For $12 he didn't know what that was. AND again, not even close to a shareable plate for more than 2 people, maybe. Mind you, when we asked, AGAIN, after the CREW-DITES arrived lol for something gluten free- we got what was available all the while. The staff doesn't know what's on the menu. They don't know position numbers when serving entrees. We don't need an announcement of each entree to see who raises their hand- if you don't know who gets what just leave and take your crapy overpriced food with you. They don't know how to pronounce items on the menu. They don't know what "no ice" means when ordering a lemonade. THEY ABSOLUTELY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT SHWARMA IS. They don't seem to know how to clean properly. They don't know how to portion dishes accurately and price them accordingly. ThIS place is ALL ABOUT PROFIT MARGINS AT YOUR EXPENSE. This place fails on all accounts. Not to mention the flies or whatever insects flying around the table/restaurant. Likely means they don't clean well. If the prices were 50% of what they are, it would at least make sense having such bad food & small portions BUT I would still say, it's garbage not worth your time. OR MONEY. Food is crap. Service stinks. Bugs. Prices are ridiculous. Portions are offensive. Clean your restaurant. Make edible food. Educate your servers. The chef should go to YouTube and watch a video to learn what Shwarma is and how to make it. They DO NOT HAVE A SHWARMA SPIT. Shameful. Let's see, what else can I recall from this waste of money- ripoff restaurant- with awful service & food...? The sheer arrogance of places like this that occupy decent real estate- making cheap, low quality garbage food, with minuscule portions- pretending it's shareable plates, is a shame on the hospitality industry. read more
I'm in love with this restaurant!!! We wanted to visit this place for a while and we finally did and it was fabulous!!! Food crazy good , we order the mushrooms hummus that was spicy and the falafel and both couldn't be better, we had drinks and they were delicious excellent!!! Service was wonderful and effective, super extra nice both servers that took care of us! Ambience great , the place is beautiful, modern and just exquisite!! I was pleasantly surprised by Motek, given that it is in a mall. I came during the happy hour and loved it! They have food and drink options for the happy hour at the bar. The staff was very nice and attentive. The place itself does not feel like you're at a mall and had very cute decor. The food and drinks were delicious. If you're looking for a "different" drink to try I recommend purple fields! read more

I've had Motek a few times on Uber eats but recently finally dined at the Aventura Mall location and had an awesome experience! The overall aesthetic and vibe of the restaurant is great, and you don't feel like you are at the mall at all. Our server was attentive throughout the entire meal and we ordered a lot and he was very patient with us and all of our requests. Let's talk about the food! Everything was delicious. Here's what we ordered: Apps- Hummus with Tahini - some of the best hummus I've had. The consistency is so smooth and it is very flavorful with the olive oil and pine nuts. I loved it! Babaganoush - This eggplant dip was also very good and it has pomegranate seeds in it which makes it very refreshing. Pickled veggies - These were ok, the portion was too small in my opinion and the pickles are very small. I think it's a good accompaniment but for $10 not worth it unless you're really craving them. Falafel- I did not try these personally but my friend raved about them and said they were out of this world. They looked delicious! Bite sized but they had a decent amount and the fried eggplant it camewith was delicious. Zucchini Latkes- So good! Very fried and crispy so not the healthiest choice, but worth the splurge if you're a latke fan! Mains - Chicken Schnitzel Plate - this is my favorite dish here. The chicken is so thin and has just enough crisp but still is juicy and tasty. I love the sesame seeds in the breading too! The harissa sauce it comes with is also so good. Arayes Burger - my husband and his friend got this and they said it was delicious, just very filling! Looks great. The New York Flat bread - One of our favorite dishes too! The pastrami was delicious and sliced thinly. The only thing I will say is that the flat bread isn't that thin, so it can be very filling! read more
I was really excited to try this new restaurant for my aunt's birthday. Sadly, the food is not good. I grew up in a mixed household with middle eastern food and this is just not it. The steak kabobs have absolutely no flavor. The lemon potatoes only have a bit of flavor in the sauce surrounding them but not in or on the actual potatoes. They should have sliced them up so the potatoes would have at least soaked up the sauce while cooking. The Israeli salad has some flavor but has too much parsley when compared to the other ingredients. The hummus was ok, but again pretty flavorless. I tried their latkes and they didn't have any flavor either. Honestly the only thing I liked was the za' atar sauce, which was used to dip everything in given the lack of flavor. The food is fresh but very bland which is not like middle eastern food at all (coming from someone who is half middle eastern). Not sure why this place has such good reviews, but I think it might be because it's a relatively new restaurant in Aventura and looks super trendy. The atmosphere and decor was amazing, and the service was decent, but I come to restaurants for their food not anything else. ***Also VERY important, their beef kabobs also have lamb in them but they don't say so in the description on the menu, so don't eat them if you can't or don't want lamb. TLDR: food is VERY bland, service is good, looks pretty on the inside, but that's it. read more
A lovely, above average experience for a restaurant that is ultimately attached to a mall. I did brunch with a group on a recent trip to Miami here. We had reservations ahead of time (very easy to make online), which made things easy because this place filled up quite fast on a Saturday. I always try to temper my expectations for restaurants attached to a more commercial venue like a mall but felt pleasantly surprised at my experience here. Ambiance is beautiful but we thought the restaurant was quite chilly when we sat down. Made a passing comment to a server and he immediately turned off the fan overhead and spoke to the manager about increasing the temp - A+ service. We ordered a couple of Israeli breakfasts to share, the shakshuka with extra feta on top, a variety of morning hot beverages, and the laffa. The laffa came first and was piping hot and so flavorful and yummy - absolutely our favorite item. The Israeli breakfasts were huge and we were glad we got two to share amongst three people. I loved all the dips that came with it, but missed a hint of spice in any of the flavors and the eggs felt good but a bit bland. The shakshuka was a flavor punch and came with the most perfect challah bread. One of my favorite items ended up being the nana mint tea I ordered - essentially a whole mint plant steeped in hot water. Delicious, refreshing, hydrating. Overall it's a lovely place to bring a group and with decent food, excellent service, and a really beautiful restaurant. Would absolutely come back if in town. read more
