Came here yesterday after waiting at a jiffy lube because whoever was supposed to open didn't show. Look on yelp and found these guys. Called them and they were willing to take me in on short notice for an oil change. Big points! Waiting room is stocked with lots of treats! Biscotti, Doritos, granola bars, Fritos, cup o soup, tea, coffee... and they were playing the new Jurassic park on tv. Definitely better than other places! Plus it's clean which I can't say for a lot of auto places. Prices are better than competitors for oil changes and these guys seem different in that they don't gouge you for everything other places do. They give you what you need and that's it and you are welcome to take their suggestions or not. As a side note, I heard one of the employees dealing with a difficult customer on the phone and was impressed at his calm demeanor and ability to explain the issue to the customer and try to offer a resolution. Definitely showed they try to take care of their customers. Would definitely be back. *Only suggestion is that they really should ask customers before putting a decal on their car. And not to mention peeling it off took forever bc it was all individual pieces. read more

Their waiting room has guitars, rv, snacks and refreshments, their staff is super non-ripoffy and accommodating and chill and their prices are always a great deal. I have their sticker on my car just like so many others I see on the road, and as a result I get all these free services. They just picked my car up to take it in for an oil change and check up and will return it back to me! For free! Now that's adaptive pivoting for a local, small business that I like to see. I am not originally from this area and I needed to have my front head light and back tail light replaced on my car and I don't own a socket wrench set which I would need to replace the back light. Motorpool Automotive got really good reviews online as being fast, friendly and reasonably priced. I called them this morning and they told me just to pop on by. It took a little over 30 minutes from when I entered the shop for them to be completely done. Joe, the guy at the front desk was super cool and happy to help. The owner Steven, came out when my car was done and said, "I'll make a deal with you, if you let us stick one of our decals on your back window, we're even." I couldn't believe that they would do the work and replace the lights for free, in exchange for a minor bit of advertisement on my end! Everyone in the shop was really friendly and they have an awesome coffee/tea and snack bar for you while you wait, along with a free arcade game, movies and video games in the waiting area. I'm not from the Campbell area, I live in Aptos, but I was visiting a friend. I needed a quick oil change a repair to fix a slow tire leak and pull a nail from one of my tires. I gave Motorpool a call and was impressed that they could take my car right away. The service person who worked with me was named Joe. He was professional, bright, and very friendly. I must say, I've never had a better experience at an auto shop!!!! They're honest and hard-working. The didn't try to upsell anything to me. Since I had to wait for my car, I was pleased to see that they had a comfortable waiting room featuring a video arcade machine, free snacks and drinks, electronics charging station, wifi, Netflix, etc. I was so entertained that I hardly noticed the time go by. I was thinking of buying an old ford ranger in the area, and since I'm from out of town I had to do a search find a mechanic I could trust for some advice on the purchase. I called motorpool because of their great reviews and not only was I met with knowledge about the vehicle but a level of enthusiasm and delight for checking the vehicle that was very refreshing. Just like I thought, they were friendly, honest and knowledgable. I was going to give them 5 stars anyways because I felt so well taken care of, as if they were friends doing me a favor. But then they ended up doing the work for free! I wish I could give 6! At the end of the day, there were so many things wrong with the car it was obvious that it wasn't going to be a smart purchase. I had a great experience here! I came here alone (though a bit nervous coming alone as a young female who doesn't know much about cars) to get my oil changed. Chris helped me and was very nice. He made sure to tell me about their special going on for their oil change which saved me about $25! He was extremely informative and checked in with me multiple times so I'd know what they were doing with my car and things I should look out for. Saw the 5-star average review of this place on Yelp and had to see it to believe it. There's no such thing as a 5-stars on Yelp... My brake pads were getting (dangerously) low so I had to make a few calls around to get a few quotes. This place was the most affordable and the guy I got on the phone (Ryan) was very pleasant to talk to so I made an appointment. SERVICE I met about 5 guys that worked here during my car's service and all of them were super nice to talk to. I was given options of whether I wanted to replace my rotors/pads completely or just the pads and in which situations it would be a better decision. Since the rotors were fine and I basically wore my brake pads perfectly down to the wear indicator, it was a better choice to just replace the pads themselves and save myself the cost of replacing rotors. So far the brakes feel great, I don't anticipate anything going wrong with them. But if there was any issues, I was told to bring it back b/c of their 1-yr warranty on parts and labor. PRICE Affordable/fair prices. As mentioned before, these guys were about average to below average in price than some other local shops. WAITING ROOM It's more like your ideal living room/kitchen/house. There's WIFI here and they also have a TV/couches set up and hooked up with a Roku so you can listen to Pandora/Spotify or watch Netflix/Amazon Prime/Hulu. There's also pod coffee machine and a hot/cold water dispenser, and tons of drinks in the fridge...and quite an impressive assortment of snacks for you to munch on while you "hang out". OVERALL Great experience. I'd love to make this shop my all around mechanic's shop for maintenance repairs/oil changes where you don't have to feel like you're just a number in line or an ATM machine. I got hustleed. I took my car in I knew what the problem was and let them know. When the called me back they quoted other problem but they didn't mentioned the water pump. So I approved what they had prognos with the price for the work the next day they said the water pump needed replaced which I knew that it was the water pump so I approved the job. The next day they told me that they had installed the water pump but the coolent was liking out, and quoted me an additional $1'000.00. I told them I couldn't afford a thousand dollars more. He was rude and said because I didn't approve the additional problem that he couldn't guarantee the water pump after they created the liking I picked up my car with the risk of the engine coolent leaking with in time of driving the car. Had an appointment. Still waited two hours for an oil change. Got a text update from them stating my filters were dirty and they suggested I replace. Had I known this would be the reason I was waiting I would have opted to change them at a later date. Things are backwards due to COVID, however, there is no verbal communication which I find hard to believe is a new issue. read more

Had a torn CV boot and since the cost of repacking and replacing the boot would be the same as replacing the whole axle, I had the axle replaced. Steve called around to multiple places to find a reasonably priced axle, and the labor charge was very reasonable as well. As a result, the cost was well under (about 50%) of another quote I received. This extra effort on their part benefited me a lot, but they didn't make any more $ by doing this. I spoke with some and he assured me that I could drop off my car on Sunday night and it would be ready the next day. I was pleasantly surprised when I called and my car was ready after noon. Motorpool was recommended to me for an alignment by America's Tires a few weeks ago, but I had a terrible experience! Upon picking up my car, the guy couldn't explain the outcome to the alignment to us and was extremely unhelpful when we asked clarification questions. The results showed that the alignment didn't even make any improvements for one part when they gave me the before and after results. When I asked about this, the guy was speechless and didn't even have an answer. I felt like it was a huge waste of money. After asking questions and asking for additional help, another gentleman came out from the back and Just immediately started talking down to us as if he was upset we were questioning the alignment. When I go to a mechanic, I expect to have the services I paid for to be explained to me and know exactly what was done to my car. Not a good experience and terrible customer service! read more

SOOOOO grateful for the Motorpool team! Went in for an oil change and to get my auto-lock checked out because it wasn't working. They were quick to not only figure out the issue with the lock, but let me know what other work should get done on my car. They provided me with a list and even provided an explanation (in a way a non-car savvy person such as myself could understand) so I can get those things fixed as I am able with them. It took a day to get 3 different things done on my car (was expecting it to take longer, so woohoo!). The team is super friendly and treat their clients like family. Long overdue review: Have an older Chevy Colorado needing much needed service and didn't know where to go of all the dozens of repair shops in the area. Over the years been seeing random cars with a "Motorpool" sticker, so vague, what is that, is that like some kind of "Supreme" brand? Did a search, and it's an auto repair place, and highly rated at that! So I decided this place would be good to take the truck, a bonus was that they service A/C, lots of places don't. They addressed everything I brought up with them. Everything is done online: work order, you approve/deny each line item, they even post pics (and even web links) on your work order so you can see what they are referring to, even final billing you approve the invoice and pay online, so efficient doing it online, no playing phone tag! They finished the job. I also needed the oil in my Wrangler JL changed so the very next week I took it to Motorpool. Again fast and efficient service, took 2 vehicles in 2 weeks in a row, and at competitive rates. Note to Motorpool, your stickers are great advertising, and you have a great friendly bunch of employees. Keep it up! read more

Having my 2012 4x fj cruiser serviced; and it's problems solved by Motorpool crew was easy and stress free. With 103+k HARD driven miles on it they had their hands full. But I found my interactions with everyone from dropping off to picking up to be Covid friendly, and people friendly. Their forward and fair with pricing. I knew exactly what I was getting into before I was ever billed. And they were even nice enough to charge less than they had originally quoted because they finished easier and quicker than planned. Why only 5 stars??!! I wish I could give 20! I started coming to Motorpool Automotive in October of 2015 when my check engine light came on and my car was having trouble even getting down the road. The first guys I took it to, that I had first trusted with the care of my car, told me the engine would have to be replaced. Clearly wanting a second opinion, I remembered my friend talking about how much she enjoyed the service at Motorpool. Not only were they honest about what was happening with my car, they explained EVERYTHING and brought me into the work bay to let me see what was happening in and underneath my engine. Since then, the only guys who I trust my car with.... are the dudes at Motorpool Automotive. They are true professionals. And I recommend everyone go to them. They know their cars and they treat their customers with respect. As a woman I have NEVER felt I was being manipulated into getting a service done on my car that it didn't truly need. The guys are honest and respectful and have wicked senses of humor. I drive an older VW Passat, I have had smog and vacuum issues recently and they have always done their best to take great care of me! No hassles, fair pricing! Had my car breaks checked as they were making a noise (sounds like air leaking). I was told that nothing is wrong and the breaks are fine. Something seemed off about the way they said this. It made me think that they didn't check anything. I mean, something HAS to be off for the breaks to leak air. So I took it elsewhere today for a second opinion and guess what? There IS a problem with my breaks! My car needs to have the break booster replaced. Having to commute every day and driving 2 little ones, and being told the breaks are fine when they're NOT is extremely disappointing and honestly, I'm pissed. Save your money and go somewhere else. WOW where do I begin..My back passenger window on my 2000 mustang wouldn't work. I google auto close to me..and for Motorpool! I called and Chip was so helpful, professional and just all around great guy. I tried to book on line and then got an email, everything is professional and complete. I took my car in on a Wednesday morning, by 10 am they emailed me not only the estimate, but what else needed to be fixed. They got the motor for the window Thursday, (which by the way was a pain to get to) and all the other stuff was repaired and fixed by 4:00 pm Thursday. It is not only close, but when I went to pick up the car, I got stickers, hand sanitizer, T shirt and Thin Mint cookies. Amazing and I will refer anyone that needs a car repair to call..Chip with take care of you with a smile..(I think under that mask). I need more work, but due to cost I will schedule in a month or two. For a single woman, it was great to know they do the work not only professionally, but don't rip you off. This place has a GREAT reputation, and for good reason! My family has been going to Motorpool for a while and the only thing I have to say is that the owner Steve is VERY helpful. His employees are very friendly and knowledgeable as well. There had been a slight miscommunication but everything was resolved quickly and efficiently. Steve's level of professionalism and customer care is seriously as good as it gets. I know that when I go to this place, I will get taken care of. I would totally recommend this place to a friend, or anyone looking for an honest service. This place is great! I had a sudden problem with my electrical system which prevented me from getting a smog test. I drove to Motorpool--no appointment--on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Steve said they could get to my van that day which I needed. Long story short I got a text message from Steve two hours later saying my car was ready. They located the problems (2) and corrected them, and I was able to get my smog test finished. Everything was conducted in a truly contactless manner. I found Motorpool Automotive about 3 years ago after a very thorough search of reputable mechanics in the area. I have been taking all of my cars there ever since and have never had any issues at all! The guys are always very friendly, knowledgeable, honest and will even give me a ride to work after drop-off :) I really appreciate that they are reasonably priced and will not purposely add stuff on that you don't need. Need an oil change? An oil change they'll do! Don't know what you need? They'll give you a run down! You aren't "accidentally" charged for any services unless they run it by you, so in the end, you are in control of how much you want them to do. Of course for me, I trust them and know they are the experts. I love my cars and would not just take them anywhere! Yea sure, you have the option of taking your car to the dealership but good luck with those mark-ups. These guys here will go above and beyond and know what the heck they are doing. I took my 2018 F-250 in due to a parasitic draw and also my truck just gushing fuel from the fuel cap. I had been dealing with this issue for over a month and nobody could find the source. Within 24 hours the issue was found and fixed. They kept it another day just to make sure the battery didn't drain again . They also stayed longer on a Friday to ensure my key was in the lockbox so I could pick it up the following day. Upon picking it up my truck was wash/rinsed ( had be sitting for over a month at my house ) and waiting for me was one of their shirts. Its the little things that matter in this crazy world . I've been taking my car to Motorpool pretty much since they opened, and wouldn't trust my car in any other shop. Everyone I've ever dealt with there has been nothing but courteous and patient enough to explain any issues with my car like I was 5, which was very necessary. All their pricing is comparable around the area, and they even have a deal where if you slap one of their stickers on the back of your car, you'll get a discounted oil change and a percentage (I can't remember how much 10-20%?) off your service. If you have time to wait around, their waiting room is clean and stacked to the gills with snacks! and cable! I'm glad I finally found a spot where I can trust that I'm getting the best bang for my buck, that is also comfortable if I have to wait around. read more
