Came here after a coworker told me to check it out. Totally NOT disappointed! The specialty rolls are huge. My teen son ordered two and couldn't finish it all. It's been awhile since we've come here. It's under a new manager and he came out and introduced himself while we were there! The staff was eager to serve, happy and knowledgeable. The sushi was very good! Very tender pieces and half of the rice I normally get at other places --which I really liked. When any of the dishes were served it looked like a piece of art! We had the volcano roll and Philadelphia roll. All good! The inside has had a facelift --more inviting and less dark. I would love to see it in the evening... has a romantic feel. We were on our way to a different Sushi restaurant. Because we always go out for dinner on Friday Nights. Just my husband and I. Well, we were driving by and noticed that Sushi Motto was all lit up and the open sign was ON! My husband said " are they open"?. I saw d "it says they are". He asked me if I'd like to try it. I said sure! First off the atmosphere and the decor is beautiful and what you'd like to see in a good Japanese establishment. A few booths and more tables as well as a few hi- tops and if course, the Sushi Bar. All of the booths were full so we opted for a table. We were greeted by nearly everyone that worked there, they are all so friendly. My ordered two entree's, my husband got the Bulgogi and I ordered the Tempura Shrimp. But for our appetizer we ordered The Creamy Balls. The were soft lite and crab puff like. We also ordered a cucumber sushi roll. It was very fresh and tasted delightful. Our entrees came with miso soup and I have to say... it's the best miso I can remember ever having myself. I've had many. They have a very extensive sushi / sashimi menu as well as appetizers and other "homemade" recipes. We will come back here guaranteed! In fact we made a date with our friends to come next week! I've loved Motto Sushi since my first visit 16 months ago and the chef/owner James Bond took over 19 months ago. James knows more about fish than anyone I've ever encountered I was lucky enough to attend James Bond's special day for Valentine's Day it was a reservation only event where he did five seatings all day for four guest at a time for an omakase meal! This was the best meal I've ever eaten The food was absolutely astonishing from the freshly grated real wasabi root grated on shark skin and the amazing selection of fish & Sue's lemon sherbet was a perfect pallet cleanser to end the meal. The first course was a steamed egg with a little bit of fish it was like warming your soul by ingesting a hot Texas summer cloud it was so light and fluffy. Then came the halibut and my mind began to open up to the journey this meal was going to take us on pure unadulterated bliss! There were too many courses to count and I was way too in the moment to take photos but I did get three I believe they're applesauce, pink lady, epic effing showdown. Alright here's the Dentonite verdict this place is way better than keiich and it doesn't take eight months to get a table. Go see James Bond and sit at the sushi bar if you want to really experience what I'm talking about. Go eat here the hospitality is amazing having Uber bring it doesn't do it Justice don't get me worng I've done it and it's awesome I received my order 15minutes after I placed it mind blown! The California roll should have been my first clue- it was some kind of mushy spread with a very thin layer of cucumber and no avocado! The vegan egg rolls tasted like they had been fried over and over again and were not fresh! Overall the food was subpar! read more

I got to say, I'm spoiled when it comes to Sushi. My wife and I have searched for a good sushi restaurant for months with no luck. Come to find out that one of the best sushi gems was right here. MOTTO SUSHI!!! You need to try and you won't be disappointed. The quality of fish is out of this world. The presentation of each dish is very tasteful. My sister and I went here for dinner and we sat at the bar area. The inside had a cute decor with little white lights on the ceiling and was very clean. They make their own special sauces and I'm hooked on "the green sauce". Since we are watching what we are eating we decided to get different orders of sashimi (yellowtail, Salomon, eel and scallops) it was AWESOME! They were great cuts and were very fresh! We showed up 30 minutes before closing and would've totally understood if it's too late but Leah assured us we were fine and was so sweet and friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcomed! The menu has plenty of options, we love sushi but if you don't care for it, you got plenty to choose from. We got a house salad, seaweed salad, baked salmon roll, eel and avocado roll, salmon sashimi and the fish ice cream with red bean! So much to eat and enjoy for only $45 and the food is worth posting a review but it was really Leah's amazing service and attention that made me pull out my phone and give this place the praise it deserves. The sushi was amazing and very fresh. We ordered half the menu for our group and it was all amazing. The owner and the staff was very friendly and the establishment was very clean including the restrooms. The quality is outstanding and worth the price. I do see people complaining about the prices and about them having fresh fish "if that's your thing" but sushi restaurants are supposed to have fish. Overall I would frequent this place and I do recommend. If you're used to eating sushi at the local buffet and expecting all you can eat prices, this place is not for you... just saying. read more

Friendly and attentive waitstaff, food presentation was top-notch (I wish I'd gotten a picture!) and incredibly fresh. We tried the Avocado Bomb appetizer and loved it! I primarily eat sashimi, and I can, without a doubt, say that this is the best, freshest sashimi I've had at a strip center style sushi joint. I don't say "strip center" as an insult to the business, but it looks modest from the street. They real Wasabi you can request, the special soy sauce blends for certain cuts of fish, and the care put into presentation sets it above the rest. Also, the chef, James Bond, is a fantastic host. James always remembers my wife's and my name. We also did the omakase event he hosts a couple of times a year, and it was absolutely delicious. The price for omakase was $150 a person, and it was an intimate and memorable experience. I seriously recommend this to anyone who is a fan of sushi. You will not be disappointed. read more
