Wow... I can't say enough about this place. The service was hands down phenomenal. You are served by everyone and helped out by everyone. The place is perfectly nestled at the top of a shopping area with great views of the mountains! Now... the food. Best miso soup I have had in a very long time. The spicy yellowtail roll was so good!! Perfect amount of spice and very fresh fish! The salad was my favorite part of the entire meal. The salad dressing has a perfect balance of sweet and savory. I devoured it. The sake was amazing. It was all so fresh and delicious!

The best sushi I've ever had--and that's a big statement coming from someone with endless sushi options in the Dallas area.

This sushi spot in Breckenridge is SO good. The sushi is really high quality -- we ordered fatty tuna sashimi, a dragon roll, atomic shrimp, and a shrimp tempura roll (can't remember the name). The fatty tuna was (obviously) the highlight -- extremely fresh and melted in my mouth. The rolls were also fresh and delicious, with the atomic shrimp being another standout. I also found out they have boba tea! I've been looking for a good boba spot in Summit County ever since my favorite place in Frisco closed. It was delicious -- not too sweet, and served in a huge cup. I like that the vibes are relaxed, but the food is top quality. It's a no-frills spot when it comes to the dining experience, but the food is seriously impressive for a mountain town. I'll be back... very soon

The best sushi I have had in a really long time. We sat at the sushi bar and the service was great. Every single thing we ordered was amazing - salmon nigiri, spicy salmon roll, peak 2, peak 4, peak 7 and peak 8. Everything was amazing.

    Tonkatsu Ramen (chicken)

This place was fairly good! Their tonkatsu ramen was tasty other than the chicken being a little tough. Their matcha tea was excellent, but they sell their matcha at the same price as their Thai tea.. despite getting FAR less Thai tea than matcha because of the fancy glass they fill to the top with ice. The Thai tea was watered down and terrible. Their Japanese omelette sushi was good, and their California rolls were good as well. They were extremely busy, but the server and hostess catered to us well and remained polite and friendly despite being very clearly stressed out. We sat at the sushi bar, and got to watch them make the sushi rolls right in front of us!! So that was very fun. It's a cute little place and i'd definitely recommend it if you like seafood.

Great "hidden" gem. We wanted somewhere close to where we were staying --the village-- and this was it. Originally didn't have reservations so was looking at an hour wait. As we said, OK, no problem, the hostess said, 4 right? And sat us. Service was slow to start-- but they were busy. We were on vacation so waited patiently. Once the server came all the way to payment was perfect. The food was amazing!! Kiddos loved it. Parents did too.

This was great for a large group. The sushi was good and so was the service. We really enjoyed this dining experience.

    Omakase (Apr 2024) Plate #3 of 3

Absolutely delicious sushi experience, in the mountains at a ski resort no less. I did the Omakase and received three very unique plates of sushi, all wonderful. I also did the Japanese whiskey flight. If you're into Sake, they have a very large menu of options, cold, hot, flights, ultra premium, etc. I felt the pricing was very reasonable for an excellent service and great food experience. Only two words of warning are they have a very limited bar menu and kids menu. The kids menu is basically just scaled down versions of a couple adult items, like chicken terriyaki. So, if you have picky eaters, they may be going hungry here lol. On the bar side, they have a few great beer choices, lots of Japanese whiskey and Sake choices, and.... Titos vodka (I assume straight unless you want it mixed with a soft drink as they have no mixers). If you wanted full liquor bar for cocktails of choice, this won't work.

Amazing fresh food, the sushi tasted so fresh. Amazing service, the waitress was so friendly with our family. The ambiance was awesome. Highly recommend this place.

Finally a place from my short list that didn't disappoint! Seafood of any time in our landlocked mountains is a challenge. I'd put the quality of Mountain Flying Fish up against Morimoto or Sushi Kashiba. Although a bit more casual it's exactly what you'd expect in a mountain town. We got local hospitality from our server too. He was knowledgeable but not in an elite manner as is often the case in some high end restaurants. Don't let the more casual atmosphere fool you, the price is consistent with high end restaurants. At Mountain Flying Fish you'll get what you pay for. Prepare to be amazed.

This Japanese Fusion spot was probably the fave restaurant we visited in Breckenridge…read more.. We got seated upstairs, which gave us a cool view of the restaurant below. We shared their Miso Soup and Edamame (bad picture...covered dish), and we both ordered sushi rolls (forgot the names), then shared this fun, one-of-a-kind dessert (forgot the name). Miso Soup and Edamame was just OK, but the sushi rolls and the dessert were stellar! Since I've had better Miso Soups and Edamame, I should rate closer to 4 stars...but I just loved this restaurant and its menu. Plus, truly their sushi rolls and that unique dessert made up for the other shortcomings in spades...enough to bump them up to 5 stars!

I was pleasantly surprised at the number of options on the happy hour menu as well and it was reasonably priced, considering downtown Breckenridge. We got the red sun maki (salmon avocado and yellowtail scallion). It's 2x 6 piece cut rolls, so you're getting a great deal for 12 pieces. The rice isn't your typical sushi rice but the fish was fresh. We also go the yellowtail heaven and garlic edamame. The yellowtail heaven was flavorful and fresh. The garlic edamame has a yuzu ponzu sauce that is more sweet than tangy and lacked garlic flavor. Service was quick and friendly. I'd come back to try the full dinner menu!

All the Thai hits--pad Thai, curries, noodles, stir fry dishes, etc. were there. We quickly settled on one of our favorites--green curry with vegetables and tofu. The waitress kindly let us know that we could get any appetizer for free with each entree we ordered, so we added edamame. Both dishes had excellent flavor, the curry had ample tofu and vegetables and a really perfect spice level. Not too hot, but definitely not bland. The place serves sushi too but we didn't order any. The table next to us had quite a lot of sushi and rolls and it looked delicious. Service was excellent, keeping our waters topped up, and checking in. Would definitely go back.

There is maybe 1/4 of one chicken breast in the whole entree which is paltry considering you are paying extra for it. Don't bother with the coconut shrimp. For $15 you receive 4 pieces of shrimp. Everything else was a normal size for the price. The tuna roll that we ordered had mayo on it which kind of tainted the taste of the roll. The tom kha soup was good. The other roll was okay. I would try the other Thai place in town before I went back here next time.

We sat at the bar because we heard great things about the happy hour from the locals. 2 Food: We researched before coming to Breckenridge what place had the best burger and Aurum's French Onion Burger came up at the top of the list. Employees: The Hostess was friendly and got us seated right away. The Bartenders (Mike and George) made our evening a blast. Mike Ruda has a signature drink on the menu that he created called the Duck Fat Cadillac and it is a home run cocktail (10 out 10)!! George Johnson is a great conversationalist and is engaged with the customers. We showed him a twist to our favorite drink back home in San Antonio, the Carajillo and he made it perfectly! Now I recommend going early for happy hour or making reservations. We were heading out around 5:30pm and there was no seating available. For happy hour I had a glass of Rosé and lemon parmesan fries. The food, people, and ambiance were so amazing, we made dinner reservations for the whole fam. Luckily there was availability. That night we were sat promptly when we arrived and the table was set up with menus and water waiting for us. For appetizer, we started off with the Parker House rolls with the house honey butter and OMG those rolls are so fluffy and delicious. Highly suggest getting the rolls if you like bread. The butter complimented the bread beautifully. I started off the night with the blackberry smash with tequila and it was delicious. Just the right combo of sweetness. For entree we went with their Pasta Rotante which for the night was a crazy flavor combo of tomato, pumpkin seeds, crunchy carrot strings, sage and chicken sausage. I'm probably missing other ingredients, but it was a dance of flavors on the tongue. Our waiter recommended pairing this with a glass of Pinot Noir and it was the perfect compliment.
