If you're looking for a messy place with poor customer service and a side of fake cheese, look no further. Asked the dread head girl taking the order how a specific IPA was to which her response was it's west coast. Umm how about give me a sample or describe the flavor. Was willing to brush that off until we got the food. Had a cheese and green chili burger which was a frozen patty with canned chili's and fake cheese. This is on top of the messy table we were sitting at that hadn't been bussed the entire time we were there but had no choice but to push the dirty stuff over so we could sit. The dread head came around and asked how it was, I responded that it was not good only for her to say "oh" and walked away. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else! read more

This place caught our attention for its dog-friendly policy, and great location on HWY 395. However, it totally exceeded our expectations with its thoughtful menu and excellent beer. My family of 5, along with our dog arrived just as they opened and we sat outside. Unfortunately, the patio is just a sectioned off area of the parking lot but the inside looked like a nice space, and we were just so grateful to find a place who would let us bring our dog! I went inside to order and was met by fast and friendly service. I chose a few beers for a flight with the help of Brian, who confessed all of their beers were delicious but he pointed me in the right direction based on my taste. Everything I tasted was exceptional with the standouts being a fun and flavorful Session, and the Aperture Harvest Ale. I enjoyed a house-made veggie burger that was fresh and full of complex flavor. My kids and husband enjoyed burgers and pizza that were simple but looked to be made with quality ingredients. Just a heads up: burgers and sandwiches do not come with fries so you'll need to order them separately. Final thought: I have a feeling the food here will continue to evolve and the beer is already stellar. If word gets out, this place could really make it big. read more

Beer is amazing. Food is amazing. It's awesome to see the Eastern Sierra breweries growing and becoming better. The atmosphere and the decor are also amazing. If at the brewery definitely try their Inconsolable DIPA and if you aren't into hoppy beers definitely try their Two Eagle Trippel. They both are amazing representations of their styles. Would have loved to try their beer and get lunch on our road trip - we specifically timed passing through Bishop to come here. We stopped at 11:27 and waited until 11:47 and finally left because they never opened. Rechecked hours on the website and they clearly list opening time on Wednesdays at 11:30. There were three other people waiting outside and two other groups of two came up and pulled on the door and drove off while we are waiting, so seems like a poor business decision on their part. Came in for the first time today. The pregnant brunette server was very rude to the lady ahead if me in line when she just asked for directions. Once we order We sat down waiting for our food. When our food came we didn't receive our beer! When we kindly asked they said we order the beer to go so the will not give it to us it until we leave. Thought that was weird but no big deal. When I came inside to get the beer there was a huge line. Two foreign men with accents (clearly visitors) had been waiting for a long time for their seat. When they asked the lady about their table and their food she was very rude. Snapped at them. And was just overall disrespectful. This is an atrocious representation of us Americans or even as human being. In the future I hope they start showing respect for ALL of their guest. read more

Very hip spot for the beer snob. This place used to be Vons when I grew up here, so glad it has changed. The session IPA was amazing. They serve food, the red beat hummus was very tasty but not Keto friendly (then again neither were my 6 beers). Service was great!, Delinda was on it. Ate dinner here last night. The brewery looks really cool but I don't drink so I cannot speak for the beer taste or selection. The menu is really different but I'm good with that. I ordered salmon tacos and the Thai meatballs. They also have ginger beer and one of the best, Cock and Bull.....so good. The place was busy but the food came in a timely manner and the staff was great. The salmon tacos were beautiful but tasted a little bland., could have used some pica de Gallo or cilantro at the very least. The Thai meatballs were very spicy but flavorful. read more

Family friendly brewery we stopped at en route to Yosemite. Outdoor seating available. Decor included live slab bar top, string lights, & high quality local art. Beer was decent. Staff was friendly but unable to answer simple questions about the menu. We had some dietary restrictions, but they were never able to determine if our order included allergens. Would benefit from better training. Disappointed, we ordered anyway. Took a while to place our order, due to employees getting distracted mid-transaction. Appetizers were tiny, but the entrees were generously sized. Flavor was great despite service. Our daughter loved her grilled cheese & fries. The tempeh Reuben, Thai meatballs & daily special salmon skin chips were all tasty. Location was central & convenient. Would return, but could use improvement. read more

This place is amazing! I have had beers here a handful of times and I have really enjoyed everything from their IPAs and Stouts, to their occasional Sours. AND I have had their burgers twice, I'm a huge foodie, and they have been beyond good! They have great service, and I have even gotten local beta for climbs in the area from their staff. Last but not least, I often work here off of my laptop and there is good WiFi, it's a nice space, plus they have a patio where I can have my doggo with me. This brewery has a wide variety of beers and good food to boot. As a vegetarian I always hope that there will be some good non meat dishes and this place has quite a few- and they are delicious! Wow! a hidden gem in a small town. If REI had a brewery, this would be it. Great place to come after a day of outdoor fun. The beers were exceptional, I tried their blonde ale and Double IPA. What it impressed me was the food! I had a thai meatball sub with fries. The bread roll was fresh and slightly crisp. The meatballs were very flavorfull and moist. The fries were perfectly season. I also ordered freshly made pretzels with I believe homemade mustard. My wife and I will make the 4 hour trip to eat and drink here again! read more

We really enjoyed our food here - the best thing was the Brussels sprouts small plate - amazing sauce and perfectly seared sprouts. Nice respite on a hot day. The real reason for this review is what happened after we left. My wife left her purse at the table, and we didn't notice it until we were 300 miles away. We called the next morning, and they had the purse and even offered to FedEx it to us (with us paying them after)! We needed it right away, so I drive up to get it. We visited Mountain Rambler on a Saturday evening, and it was OK - but they still have a lot to achieve. First off - and the reason we went - was the beer. We both liked the red, and the other beers we sampled were within their flavor ranges... meaning that they were good representations of their style without being outrageously creative. Nothing bugs me more than a beer style bastardised by some radical flavor introduction (Hey - it is a great Double IPA with a hint of Herring!!!11!) Second - the food. We didn't sample the food, having been warned by a local, and we ate just before arriving. It looked interesting, but that isn't the main reason we went there. The place was generally clean, and the decor was better than I expected. The beer list was WAAAAy up on the wall, and hard to read from the other side of the building. I remember that building was once a Safeway supermarket, so they had some work to be done! Now the bad. Totally disorganised. We were warned by a local (and a person that has spent a lifetime in the restaurant business) that they were doing it wrong. Here is what I saw: 1. No flights. WHAT? Take 10 minutes, a 2x1, bore some holes for shot glasses and (BOOM!) you have beer flights! Budget of $30 and an hour if you want to stain the boards. 2. No merchandise. Virtually every new brew house I go to I get a shirt, glass, or if you are really good, a growler. Nothing. Not even a coaster to steal. Seriously guys, that is leaving money on the table. 3. Disorganization behind the bar. Credit cards left somewhere behind the bar in a stack? Is that standard practice? Unlabeled taps? Water service (warm) in the corner to self serve? 4. I don't remember being offered a menu. Again, money on the table. I like the place and wish them well, but they really need to hire a professional to get their collective keisters in gear - both front of the house and back. read more

Great stop just off 395. Friendly to dogs with a newer outdoor patio and dog water bowls. Nice and cool inside. Food was excellent. My husband had a flatbread and shieldback IPA, I had the arugula, goat cheese and beet salad and the blonde ale. Our sone had a delicious burger. Wow! Great Brew Pub! Tried all the beer. Pale Ale, Porter and Extra Pale ale all worthy of 5 stars. Green chili burger was awesome. Thursday night there were 5 musicians jamming but they are moving to Tuesday nights (I think) . Owner gave us a much appreciated behind the scenes tour and explained the process of combining Sierra spring water with the freshest Hops and Barley ect. What a concept! And you can taste the passion and quality in the final product. Locals told me it can get crowded at times so visit on non peak times. Overall a must see if you appreciate fine ales and simple but tasty pub grub! read more

This is the third time we've been disappointed with this establishment. As local people that enjoy craft beer, we'll have to be happy with driving to Mammoth or June. Not only is the service sub par, their beer isn't available! Twice in 2 months, we've gone to fill our growlers for home, and the only IPA, was unavailable. It's a drag that the only brewery in Bishop doesn't make enough brew. As a side note, Hoppy Ale is a seller in our family, you should make some! read more

We stopped by on a road trip from Los Angeles home to Reno, NV. The Location is great, we had a view of the sierras from our patio table! My sister and I shared one of the lunch specials, the grilled chicken sandwich and it was delicious, the perfect road trip lunch. I only wished I would have ordered two instead of sharing! I'm a big IPA fan and the the Shieldback did not disappoint! Great, friendly service, wonderful food and drink! I will definitely stop by next chance I get! read more

I had the tempeh ruben made with their house cured kraut---just delicious! The crispy seasoned fries were great, too. Really friendly folks working here. Passed by this place after tubing in Owen River. Our appetite was big coming to this place. We ordered a couple of Hazy IPA's. Got the Completo Burger, pepperoni pizza, a Reg cheeseburger and some seasoned fries. The Beer was a 2/10, the food was a 6/10 and the customer service was TRASH. The cooks can keep their job, but the rest of the employees need to be replaced. They're walking around with anal plugs and that ruins good business. read more

Great brew pub in Bishop! Well, the only thing I was disappointed is the beer, it have the basic varieties, but there were no stands out. The beer from Mammoth Brewing is still better. But they will fill up your growler if you put tapes over the names. Food is above your regular bar bites, the fries are excellent at $4.50, large portion, perfectly fried, and has more sauce than just ketchup. Taco was gluten-free! Flat bread and burger are delicious. You order at counter and get a number, service is pretty good, and food comes out fast. There are a stage for live band. This is a good replacement for Whiskey Creek. read more
