I hesitated to go to Mr. & Mrs. Crab, just thinking it looked like fast food and I normally will not eat seafood from a fast food place, but I was hungry and one of my friends is a huge fan, so I stopped in and boy, was I glad I did! I was seated right away and intrigued by the menu, a combination for all seafood lovers is there, and since I moved here from the Washington, DC area, when I saw blue crabs as a choice, I jumped on adding that to my order. I ordered the "Feeling Crabby" boil, and figured I would be waiting a while, but that was not the case, my food arrived in less than 5 minutes, and it was HUGE. I dove right in, adhering to my long lost dad's rule of "Eat the expensive stuff first"- he would tell me and my 5 siblings that on the rare occasion that we ate out- so I went right for the blue crab. This was the only disappointing part of my whole visit. The blue crabs are tiny, like half the size of the palm of your hand, and I had never seen any that small. Back in Northern VA and MD, these would be illegal to keep, and there was literally no meat to be taken from them, so that was a letdown, so I moved on to the shrimp, which, with the Mr. & Mrs. Crab Special seasoning, was fantastic. I had no plans to eat the other stuff if I got full, but I love food and this was too good to stop now, so I forged on, trooper that I am. The sausage was quite possibly the best part of the show, it was so good that I couldn't get enough of it. The potatoes were soaked in seasoning and awesome, the corn was great, too. Man, this had me licking my lips the entire meal. Now I've been back a few more times and I prefer to make my own boil- shrimp, scallops, clams, and of course, sausage. It's a great dish and I eat every bit of it. The service is always good, and I've seen them handle difficult customers a couple of times- some customers are never pleased no matter what you do, but the staff handles them well. My only wish is that they had something besides chicken tenders to offer the non-seafood lovers. I want this because my wife doesn't like seafood and there is nothing else for her to eat there, heck, a fried chicken sandwich would do, so I can't go to this place unless my wife has other plans, which is a bummer. read more

I can not express what an amazing staff this establishment has. Me and about 10 others went out for a friends birthday dinner. Service was 10/10 the whole dinner thanks to Bryce our server. Towards the end of dinner we had noticed that our friends (the birthday boy) valuable had gotten mixed into trash and thrown away. The employees wasted no time helping us look for the item. We even went as far as looking in the dumpster like crazy people. The manager Danielle helped us dig through trash and we found said item and we can not express how grateful we are. My family and I have had Mr. and Mrs. crab at a different location north of Tampa and decided to try out the Bradenton location this past weekend. We ordered a variety of items, including the king crab, shrimp head off, lobster, mussels, sausage, and also added extra potato and corn. We asked for our food to be prepared with the blend of all seasonings and to be made spicy. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The seafood tasted very fresh and the food came out sizzling, to our liking. I seriously cannot express how delicious the meal was and we definitely ordered over ordered but we're so happy with the variety that we got. Additionally, the service was very good. Don't sit at the bar if you want to order food, they will get you A DRINK and then disappear for 20 minutes at a time. People not working at the bar will come up and use the bar space right in front of you when they have ample space to work. If you dont order extra spice/extra sauce, you likely won't think much of this place if you've been eating delicious seafood your entire life. Thats a guess anyway, as I felt all of our seasoning levels seemed a little weak. There were 5 in my party, and I tried something from everybody's order to compare. The portions were also noticeably smaller in comparison to similar restaurants with similar menu options. There was a long wait also considering it was just a random Sunday, and pretty late in the evening. My server was cool though. I ordered The 1/2 pound of snow crab legs which equated to 5 legs that came with 1 small for 19.99. I added a egg but no corn. They were good and made me do the happy food dance but it just was not enough. I am use to AYCE Crab legs so I can eat enough to get full. They have a handful of lunch specials so we opted for the shrimp basket and the catfish basket. My server was attentive and on point. I had dinner here and honestly the food was really good. I ordered the clam chowder and salad with a side of fries. The chowder was pretty chunky although it didn't fill the bowl all the way. The salad was fresh. Daniel was my server and he was friendly, attentive and did a great job! My only complaint is that everything is served on single use disposable plastic and paper. Even the ketchup and vinegar was in disposable packaging. I'm sure it saves them a lot of dishes but in today's world with climate change and so much plastic pollution in the oceans it's just not okay to be so unnecessarily wasteful. I went for clams and sausage, and my man went for shrimp and sausage. We both agreed our meal was very tasty. The sauce id rate a 7.5/10. Had some nice heat to it. The sausage though was a 10/10! Much better then the ones I get back home. The sausage had a kick but also some good Smokey sweetness. We enjoyed our meal & felt that overall it's a decent quick lunch type of spot.
