Since I go to the Terra Vista Farmers Market, I've had my eye on Mr Baker since before they opened. Their grand opening was on August 11, 2016 and I attended with a fellow Yelper. We got to check out the bakery and had free samples. Since that summer day in 2016, I've been back a few more times. I've purchased their cream-filled croissant with strawberries and green tea croissants. I've also tried their specialty coffee (latte etc.)When my sister had her baby, I bought a full box of a variety of their desserts (cakes, tarts, macarons etc.). I've also seen them at the RCHS event "A Taste of Rancho" in September 2016. They were offering savory items (salad, pizza), but I don't think that was very successful. They offer sandwiches, but they are pre-made and refrigerated. They do have an outdoor patio which is dog friendly and on some weekends, they were giving away free dog treats. I've waited a while before finally writing this review, but with everything I've tried, I give them a solid 3 out of 5. It's just "OK". Some items are too sweet, some are unimpressive/forgettable and some I like. Just their their pastries, their customer service is also "hit or miss". I didn't find myself coming back too often in 2017 and when I had to chose between local bakeries in Rancho Cucamonga in the same vicinity at least, I ended up at Cake Among Us (on Haven Ave in the same plaza as Anytime Fitness) ordering custom whole birthday cakes for my husband and sister-in-law's birthdays and opted for whole cakes/pastries for family get togethers from Paris Pastries (Haven & Foothill by Omokase). read more

Customer service is really lacking here. You can tell when an employee would rather be at home than at work, or when an employee has no idea what the business is selling. I came in for breakfast, so I asked for a ham and cheese sandwich, and the cashier stated "so the person who makes them doesn't get here till 10, so we can't make them right now". Mmmk. I opted for a ham croissant and a mango smoothie. The croissant was not warmed, it was a thin slice of ham and a hollow croissant. And the mango smoothie was so overly sweet, I had to throw it out after the first sip. Mr. Baker has a pretty good sized selection of bakery items and they're all reasonably priced. I hate how some bakeries overprice even the smallest things. It's located in a large shopping center next to Bath & Body Works. The store is clean and well kept. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They offer green tea croissants, specialty cakes, macaroons, cupcakes, eclairs, cookies, cake balls, cannolis, cute lil mini cakes & tarts. They also sell coffee. Although I haven't tried the coffee, it looks pretty good, so I'll have to try some soon. I usually stop by here when someone has a birthday and grab them a small treat. Just took my time actually trying them out. But I'm glad I did! Came here today for the first time. They're a hidden gem in the Terra Vista shopping center. Right down the way from Target and Hobby Lobby. I guess this place opened pretty recently, maybe about a year ago. The bakery is decorated cutesy with the display cases full of delicious desserts! Cakes, macaroons, cake balls, eclairs, cookies etc! There was soooo much to choose from. I was surprised they had as many selections as they did. It took a little while to choose what I wanted to try on my first visit. The gentleman helping us was a nice older Asian man. I'm not sure if he is the stores owner but he's super friendly and attentive to the customers. Waited patiently while we decided what to order. I got the double chocolate slice of cake, carrot cake ball and a few chocolate chunk cookies. Are the cake right off the bat and YUM! Wasn't too overwhelmingly sweet. Just perfect. Super cute to take pics of also. Will definitely come back here to try more of their desserts! I did also note that they have many options for drinks on their menu too(Cappucino, smoothies etc). Needed to get some fruit tarts for a Friendmas party and this was the closest place I could find with good reviews. Mr Baker Bakery & Cafe did not disappoint! I loved how they had a good variety of tarts to choose from! I actually ended up buying more tarts than I needed because I wanted to try them all. Followed up a week before the event, was told they will make the design even better than catalog, so I trusted them ans ask them to send me pictures of new design. If they take out the figurines, cake looks like a regular 2 tiered winter themed cake. This place has some of my favorite pastries and good spot to get coffee! I must say, the cakes here are a HIT OR MISS. There are some inconsistencies when it comes to their cakes. Two of my favorite cakes are the Mixed Berry and Black Forest, hence, the texture can be either be really spongy and dry or soft and moist. Personally, I enjoy the flavor of their cakes and the light whip cream like frosting, but when you're spending almost $30 for a cake you expect it be perfect. The place itself is really nice and clean, service is friendly, and seating areas were clean. The bakery selection is ample and they have cakes, macaroons, eclairs, tea cookies, cupcakes, and more. We ordered a Napoleon, which was served all broken up, a cookies and cream mini pie, which was a simple custard mini pie, covered in a thick mountain of whipped cream, with a layer of crumbled Oreo's, and a chocolate and peanut butter cupcake, which was a plain chocolate cupcake, with dark chocolate frosting, and 2 small, cut pieces of Reese's on top. The frosting on the latter was delicious. The cookie pie was simple, just custard, and plain tasting. It tasted a lot like my chocolate Napoleon...plain and boring. Not bad, just...plain. We also got two coffees, one white mocha, iced, and a hot hazelnut latte. My fiance was not impressed about his iced latte, but my hazelnut coffee wasn't too shabby.
