The worse Kung Pao Chicken. The chicken was so hard. Terrible

I went this weekend and got the Kung Pao Chicken. It was the worse Kung Pao Chicken I have EVER had. It was terrible The chicken was so hard I couldn't even bite it. They should have never serves me that. It was like it was sitting for days. I will never go back there again :(

I had passed by Mr. Chopstix many times but just assumed it was your typical Chinese restaurant that catered to western audiences - orange chicken, kung pao chicken, sweet and sour chicken etc. (They actually do offer all three of those dishes for those who so desire it.) I definitely was not expecting the offerings they had. The name alone just sounds cheesy. The Husband had looked over the menu and mentioned quite a few things that surprised me, so off we went. What a shock to see the variety of Northern Szchewan Chinese dishes offered! Since it was just the two of us, we couldn't order as much as we wanted. But did end up with this. * Lamb Skewers $2.69 each - We always love a good lamb skewer and this one did not disappoint. * Stir-fried Spicy Shredded potato $14.99 - Shredded potatoes are such a simple dish but we can't help but order it whenever we see it on the menu. * Spicy Pork Wontons $9.99 - These were plump dumplings with a nice chili oil. * Dry chili chicken $17.99 - This dish was only average. I guess the Husband was expecting something else but it was okay. It had a nice flavor and all, but there are probably other dishes that aligned better with our taste buds. Service was okay. I was initially given a fork (no chopsticks) with my place setting. The Husband commented on that, as we noticed other diners got chopsticks instead. I mean, it is called Mr. Chopstix! I guess my Chineseness wasn't showing through today. Nonetheless, we'll probably be back as there are quite a few dishes to try.

We arrived about 30 minutes before closing. After looking at yelp, I couldn't wait to try the beef roll. The pictures of all the food look really awesome. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was no one in the restaurant. We were the only patrons.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waiter asked us if we wanted anything to drink. And then asked us what we wanted to order. I let him know that it was our first time in there, and that we needed some time to read the menu. I really like this menu as the pictures are very large. There is a disclaimer on the menu that the dishes may not look exactly the way they are in the picture... That was a bit strange to read lol. In retrospect, I can tell you, the dishes are really big and we really over ordered. Once all of the food arrived, I told the waiter we were unfamiliar with the new size. He laughed and said he could tell because we ordered so many different items. Seven items for three people... What we ordered: Spicy pork wonton Beef roll Chicken fried rice Pan fried potstickers Lamb skewers Szechuan eggplant with chicken Honey, walnut shrimp The food started arriving fairly quickly since we were the only people there. The beef roll, was a bit dry. Another interesting part of the beef was the pancake was hot, but the beef was cold. I asked for dipping sauce, he said they were sauce, rolled up in it. It was just too dry. The walnut shrimp is probably the best walnut shrimp I've ever had. my son enjoyed the fried rice. I didn't really get to eat it as I filled up on the spicy wonton and lamb skewers. The eggplant was definitely good also. All in all, food was average to good. Service was good. And the price was good.

Grabbed some lunch with the family. Foid and service was pretty good overall. Got a couple of the $13.99 lunch specials and a few other things. Pricing is decent and comparable to others. Worth trying again.

$20.58 for the the nastiest "Mongolian beef" I've ever had in my life.. Majority of this is onions. Air pudding would've tasted better than this.

This place was empty when we arrived for dinner. We were seated right away, my husband,son & I. Looked over the menu decided to order. Chicken fried rice, potstickers-pork, lamb skewers,szechuan eggplant,honey walnut shrimp, famous beef roll,& spicy pork wonton. I think we over ordered! It was definitely a lot of food! I liked everything, the spicy pork wonton was more spicy than I could take. The fried rice was average, the honey walnut shrimp was yummy! The beef roll was good, but strange that it was hot and cold at the same time. Eggplant was a bit on the spicy side. The service was ok, it was definitely a slow night. [[HIGHLIGHT]]No energetic vibe here![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They are a bit on the pricey side, the portions were large, we took a lot home.

I always pass by this restaurant and I finally decided to give this place a try. Food was good! I got the signature beef noodle soup and it was delicious. The broth was good, the beef was cooked right, and super filling. My boyfriend and I got steamed pork dumplings. It was ok. Nothing to rave about. We also got beef and onion pancakes but it didn't come out until after we were done with our soup so we just had it to go. Customer service was ok. There was only one server and it was pretty busy too. He forgot to add boba to my milk tea drink too. Speaking of boba, the boba tasted weird. I think they might of cooked it too long and the texture felt weird after biting into it. Definitely will be coming back since it's nearby. Hopefully customer service will be better then. read more

AC was broke so it was toasty inside. Brought us to a table and then changed their mind and moved to another. Didn't ask if we wanted drinks(water would be nice with no air) waited 10 minutes to take order, still didn't ask if we wanted drinks. Had to stop waitress from walking away to get water and ice tea. While waiting for food listened to EDC music pounding through the speakers for that authentic Chinese feel. Then food for me and my wife came out 5 minutes apart, so mine was cold before I could start. Food was excellent, thus 2 stars. But while eating waitress watch us like an ax murderer from behind the kitchen glass. We were finished eating and watched as out waitress walked around the restaurant jabbering on her cell phone....she finally picked an empty table to sit at which was dirty. The family that came in was brought to that particular table, so the cell phone conversation was interrupted. Instead of hanging up she just moved to another empty table which was clean, and continued phone call. So somebody else cleaned the dirty table. WHY NOT TAKE THEM TO THE CLEAN ONE!??? It seamed they had lots of employees doing nothing. No management. P.S. The booth benches are about 2 feet from the table, so sit at the edge of your seat to eat...good luck read more

5 stars. Although the food comes pretty quickly, it's NOT fast food. Very fresh and handmade to order in the glassed in kitchen. Watch it being made. Very authentic Chinese food. $8.49 for the braised pork and egg and it was delicious! Potstickers were rolled and fried right in front of me, fresh. Big portions and excellent service. I'll be working my way through this menu. Highly recommended. read more

We were introduced by a friend recently and I must say we LOVE this place! Great menu, fun ambience, getting to watch the chefs is definitely a highlight. And the food is absolutely amazing made to order right in front of you and shockingly large portions we always leave full and happy. read more

Just walked out of this place. My husband and I walked in at 1:30om no one greeted us we stood there for about 7mins there was two people standing by the register a larger built lady playing in her phone watching some sort of videos. We continued to look around every single table was dirty. There was not one cleaned table in here. It also smelled like sewer so my husband and I looked at each other and said Let's get outta here! If they can't even bus tables how would I trust what's going on in that kitchen?! We are on our way to Noodle Man! read more

Came in to try it out after recommendations from a lot of people. Was surprised that their kitchen was in the middle of the store, so u can watch them make your food. Had their beef roll and beef noodle soup. Their beef pancake roll is the best I've had. The shell had the perfect balance of crispiness and chewiness. The beef was tender and the roll wasn't dry at all like many other places I've tried. Only downside is that they stuff an entire uncut green onion in it. I wish they would maybe cut the onion into small slices instead. The beef noodle soup was really good as well, broth was rich and flavorful, but a tad too sweet for my taste. The portion size is good for the price, and our server was nice and friendly. Btw, they also serve Americanized Chinese food too. Definitely be back to try out more delicious stuff on their menu. read more

I used to love this place, until today. I ordered online for lunch. I actually got to the restaurant a little late than the pick up time. The cashier or server at that time 12:50 pm 04/07/2021, told me that he was cashing out several people and he told me to wait. I was already waiting for about 7 mins. So I told him that I only have 30 mins for lunch and got there late so my food should be ready and he could take my money. He continued to cash out several people instead of taking my simple transaction. I told him I will leave then without my food. He did not care. So sad! I used to like this place but now I have this bad experience and probably won't come back read more

Ordered $70.00 worth of food and wanted fried rice with my dinners, they called and said the kitchen can't do fried rice with dinners only steamed rice. If that's the case I think it's time to hire new cooks. read more

The food here is delicious! We're new to the area and this was the first place we ate. We were looking at other places but none seemed to have the selection and family style plating like Mr ChopStix. I was very surprised to see spam fried rice! We called in our order and the food came exactly as we requested. We ordered for 6 people and everyone agreed that this place is amazing. Went on a Saturday night around 8pm with my kids, the place was pretty slow but that didn't deter us. For our meals my boys ordered a chicken chow mein, curry flank steak which included a side of rice, orange chicken which also had rice included and being a vegetarian I ordered the eggplant tofu chow mein. It was labeled as spicy but I didn't find it so. I also ordered steamed beef/onion dumplings for them which they all said was good. Two of them ordered Sprites which they brought out in cans and with a cup of ice to pour it in as well. Our server was friendly and attentive and our food was all served in generous portions, so much so that we had enough to take home for lunch the next day. The food was good and for the portion sizes very reasonably priced. I'd recommend it. read more

This place has gotten better since my first experience...the food is pretty good but their service is bad...first time the service was super slow even though it wasn't busy...2nd time we did go when it was dinner rush I suppose but I didn't get a glass of water till I was half way done with my meal...3rd time which was today we order our meal first and the couple that sat next to us who ordered about 20 mins after we have gotten and eaten their food before we even gotten our one appetizer dish...what sucks is they make stupid excuses as to why the order of the food got mixed up and well I don't know if there will be a 4th...I always like to give a place 3 tries before I give up but here I have given them enough tried to get better in regards to their service read more

I would highly recommend Mr. Chopstix to anyone. I live a little ways away but I will pass all of least 30 chinese places closer to my house. There food is the highest quality I have found for any privately owned restaurant. I have only done take-out, but the have been prompt with their pick up times. Take my advice and check out Mr. Chopstix next time you are craving Chinese read more

this place was recommended by my brother, ordered beef noodle soup. noodle was good , soup and beer was meh. service was very bad , was seated and waiter didn't come take my order for 10mins. never came by to see everything was ok, didn't even come by when i was finish . had to go up and pay and no thank you when i was leaving. employees just chatting along. i'll never be back. read more

It was my first time here after looking at the newspaper advertisement. Ordered kung pao chicken rice, beef noodle soup, and beef with onion gyozas and all were pretty decent. Its like a normal Chinese restaurant with different fusion. This restaurant vibe is clean and edgy and the server were friendly. I would come here again. But I have to say their beverage glass is so cute. read more

Isabella was a great waiter she explained everything with detail fist time here and the egg drop soup is the best on this side of town. Food is cook in front of you everything very clean as well they use fresh ingredients. Amazing food definitely will come back read more

Amazingly fresh and great quality food! The lady that makes all the dumplings etc is amazing. Definitely the best place in Vegas in my opinion for the dumplings and chive pancakes etc! They come out with such fresh ingredients on the inside (at many other places I've been to you can tell it's been frozen as the chives all look a little wilted) Sometimes I do feel like they're a little understaffed in the kitchen as the food can come out quite slow, but it is worth the wait! read more

This place has been amazing not only in the taste of food but also in service. The people who work here puts on a smile for what ever they do. I surly will come back to here again. Mr. ChopStix's food taste amazing, it will give you joy and excitement. And their price is very fair. The owner is nice and welcoming. This place is the best place I ever been to. This place is more than amazing than Magic Noodle. I went to there and no body welcomed me but this place is different. They also have time and also serves you friendly with a big smile. Are they open or not I can't get anyone on the phone and don't want to make the drive there for no reason?

Not sure when this question was asked but they are open during their usual open times not sometimes don't answer the phone for some reason. Only happened to me once or twice out of dozens of times calling.

Experience: We were a party of 2 and waited about 10 mins for our table. Once seated we were greeted by our server. We have been here once before and dreamt about it since. Thankfully, the food quality matched what we remembered from our first experience. We ordered a variety of dishes to share and ended taking back to our hotel. Tom yum, pad kee mao, fried rice, curry and soft shell crab. Honestly, i felt like one of your foodie youtubers with the spread on our table. Each dish was made well and with care - we enjoyed every bite we were able to eat and would recommend coming here out of any place on the strip. Note: check our their whiskey list - they have alot of options from all.

**1 STAR -- PLEASE CLEAN UP YOUR PARKING LOT!**…read more Dear Lotus of Siam on Flamingo, **What the heck is going on with the outside of your restaurant?!** On Saturday, August 8, I drove past and honestly thought the restaurant was abandoned. I actually thought, "Did they go out of business?" On Sunday, I stopped by after work. I was surprised to see the parking lot packed -- and then I saw the condition of the lot. There was garbage piled throughout the parking lot, and a shopping-cart garbage fire had clearly been there for several days, with debris and trash still sitting on the sidewalk directly in front of your restaurant. I took photos and video because I honestly couldn't believe it. Couldn't someone from the staff or management spend an hour before opening cleaning this up? This is the first thing your customers see when they arrive! And here's the frustrating part: your food is incredible, your staff is great, and the restaurant is obviously very popular. So why does the outside look abandoned? I'm giving 1 star because I want this review to get noticed not because of the food or service. Clean up the parking lot and I will gladly change my review. You have a great restaurant. Please take care of the outside, too!

I know many reviews will say "the curry was good"…read morewithout any details, but let me give you the details. -They seem to use actual whole spices in the curries, you'll see flecks of coriander and lemongrass and such. I suspect they make their own curry paste. -The curry flavors are REALLY well balanced. Someone or some people with very good cooking sense are making their recipes and cooking. -Massaman curry is hard to get right, but theirs has the perfect mix of umami, tangy, sweet, salty. -Yellow curry can often be really bland and just like sweet coconut milk at other restaurants, but the yellow curry at Panna Thai is intense and chock-full of spices (you can see the spice pieces in it, probably coriander and other things) and it's one of their best curries, really excellent balanced and flavorful taste -They take care to prepare the vegetables well, and the pumpkin in the pumpkin curry has the perfect texture, the eggplant is very soft and melt-in-your mouth, I've never had bad vegetables in their curries -The coconut milk is very rich and thick and the curries are thick (not just like water) -Each curry tastes like what it's supposed to taste like and they all taste very different. I think the best taste is in the yellow curry, Massaman curry, red curry, and pumpkin curry. The curries are not oily, no layer of oil or little drops of oil, and don't seem to have seed oils in them (we asked and were told the curries are a good dish if you want to avoid seed oils) -The curries are consistently good and I've had them maybe 15x between dine-in, trying my husband's food, and delivery -- been great every time -The curry fillings are good -- chicken is tender, they include lots of vegetables, the pumpkin in the pumpkin curry is melt-in-your-mouth -They add the things that are supposed to be included in authentic curry (like Thai basil for the red curries, fish sauce, etc.) -They are accommodating to allergies and dietary preferences -They'll actually make the curry spicy if you request it, I have a high spice need/tolerance and this is one of the only places that will make it taste spicy to a level where I can feel it if I ask for their highest spice level -The jasmine rice is the best of anywhere I've eaten in Vegas -- so fresh, so bouncy/springy, high-quality rice grains, clearly handled well and rinsed prior to cooking, cooked perfectly every time I've had it. It's a big part of the experience of curry to have bouncy, high-quality jasmine rice to contrast with he creaminess of the curry, and this place does a great job with it. -The portions are large and I almost always take some home, delivery portions are pretty large, too There are only 3 Thai places in Vegas that I can say that about, and this is the only one in SW Vegas that I've found to be like this. the service is also great and you actually feel like a guest there. they have little extra touches like real candles. they do a great job with refilling water, lemon in your water, mints by the door, lots of extra touches. above-par Thai restaurant, please support them! and try the curries! I think most people would enjoy their yellow, Massaman, and pumpkin curries.

They aren't loaded with oil and really don't have noticeable oil, must be using curry paste without oil and cooking it with coconut milk. The curries all taste like the curry they should taste like and have the unique flavors specific to that curry (in contrast to many Thai places where they just taste vaguely sweet). Had both the curry beef brisket (bonus.. came with tendon) and the seafood tofu clay pot. Seafood tofu clay pot were among the best we've had in town (and we get it everywhere!). I was especially thrilled with the curry beef brisket dish. It wasn't just the brick of curry that I use at home, they made this themselves and may have used some coconut milk in their mix. Had a little more of a taste of a thai curry, but not the extreme heat that you normally see. We also had the salt and pepper squid... this wasn't our favorite, but maybe it was due to them using a different, heavier batter on their fry than many of the other places in town.. Just threw me off a bit. Yet more for anyone to try when coming here.

Some of the faves that I've enjoyed are yellow curry and spicy eggplant with chicken. The portions are fair for the price, this restaurant UNDERSTANDS Thai spice which is honestly hard to come by. When you pick a spice level here it's legit Thai spice , so for a spicy lover like me, be careful what level you choose.

For the Duck Khao Soi, the duck was cooked really well, and the curry was rich and creamy. The Pineapple Curry had a nice touch of sweetness that balanced the heat. After trying three different Thai restaurants, we noticed a difference in spice levels between Vegas and LA. In Vegas, even the non-spicy (level 0) version was still mildly spicy, so keep that in mind in case you don't like heat. In LA, when you order non-spicy, it's usually not spicy at all.
