Let's get crackin' We came here for the first time last night. They didn't take reservations so we just walked in. Luckily, they were not that busy that evening so we were able to be seated right away. It was my Mom's birthday. There were five of us adults. We ordered the Combo E which was 1-lb each of the King Crab Leg, Lobster Tail, Snow Crab Leg, and Shrimps (head off). It also came with corn and potatoes. We chose two seasonings, the garlic butter and lemon pepper. It was suggested that the meal was good for 2-3 adults. Well it fed the five of us nicely. I was full and content. They gave us 2 buckets for shells and peels. They provided utensils such as bibs, gloves, shell crackers, and seafood shellers. Oh man, so nice to have those gloves! It does get messy. Our party also ordered a couple of clam chowder bowls which my sis and hubby enjoyed. Everything was tasty, fresh and amazingly delicious... even the corn! LoL! Food came fast! Came for for lunch with a friend while visiting in town, and I really enjoyed the experience and food here. The decor alone really sets the vibe! Luckily when we went there wasn't much of a wait, so we were able to get seated quickly. Most of the seafood is 'Market Price' so you'll have to ask your server how much each things are. I decided to go with 'head off' shrimp, and it was around $22/lb. You get to pick your seasoning and spice level. I went with 'spicy' with the cajun and garlic butter, and the cajun had really good flavor to it. I added a 1/2 lb of sausage, fries, and a side of rice. Your food comes in a giant bag and you get some gloves to dive into your food. The gloves are a life-saver because it's a eat with your hands type meal, and definitely messy in all the best ways. I was surprised how much a lb of shrimp and 1/2 lb of sausage was, it was a ton of food! The corn was also super delicious. I'd pass on the fries next time around, as they were pretty basic. For spicy fans, the regular spicy was just enough to have me sweating, and it's a good amount of spice once you factor in the cajun seasoning. Do: seafood boil! Wanted to try the new seafood boil spot in Natomas. I've already tried Firehouse crawfish and Asian Cajun, and Boiling Crab still took the cake . This new spot was pretty good give or take a few dishes. I ordered the combo c (Manila clams, shrimp, crawdad, king crab) and each combo comes with corn and potatoes. We also ordered the catfish starter, Cajun fries, a side of boiled eggs, and 6 fresh raw oysters The seafood boil was HUGE! I ordered this for myself, and it was a really large portion. It was served in a nice platter, and the sauce (signature mr crab and spicy) had a good flavor! It wasn't too oily and the seafood tasted fresh . The fries were good too. The catfish was kind of slimy and soft. I probably wouldn't buy it again. The oysters were a little big (can't believe I'm complaining about this), but I'm used to a buttery sweet flavor, like Kamamotto oysters. If they served a more over powering sauce, it might take away from the fishy taste, but I probably won't do that again. Just my preference. So this is a messy place. The spicy and extra seasonings were fiery. The heat lingers on your hands even after the meal! The flavors soaked through the selection. The lobster and crab were all delicious. Even the potatoes and corn were spicy! The shrimp basket was also good. The shrimp was large and juicy. The reason I docked it a star was because the soft shell crab was disappointing. It wasn't crispy and didn't have that sweetness I expected. Overall the food and experience was worth it. In the shopping center of off Truxel, near the Apple bees & across the Home Depot. Arrived about 7:45pm, after 2 couples were taken before us, was told a 15 minute wait but was about 5 minutes, 7 total in our group including 2 kids. We ordered combination D with shrimp and lobster. Kids chicken tender meal$5, shrimp basket $15 & the chicken sandwich with Cajun fries. The $99 combination platter was huge, steaming when it came out. About 2-3 corn & potatoes, tons of king crab, 1 lobster , lots of shrimp basked in butter. We shared it among 3 -4 of us and still some left overs. Tasted good. Sampled the Cajun sauce & a bit spicy to my liking but of course it's Cajun! Service was great, he checked on us multiple times. Soft opening Thursday, 3/4/2021 of Mr. Crab! Located on Truxel between the AT&T Store and Koshi Ramen. Not sure if their online ordering system works yet, but was able to come for indoor dining/seating, party of 2 with my friend Gabby T. around 7:30PM (close at 10PM I think). Booth/Table #3, at least 30 tables that I saw available. Seated right away, social distancing and masks. Started with the half dozen raw oysters ($14) and for the main to share was Combo A (lobster tail, snow crab legs, 1/2 lb shrimp, with corn, potatoes, sausage) for $35. Signature sauce (all three mixed: cajun, lemon pepper, garlic butter), mild spicy. Other combos include mussels, clams, crawfish, more shrimp, or king crab. Sodas available are Coke products. The oysters were fresh and good size, plump/meaty. For the combo, the bucket provided included gloves, bibs, napkins and plastic utensils. The sauce was perfect mild spice and flavorful. The shrimps (headless) still needed peeling. The lobster was also meaty and tender. The snow crab was the best! Also got a side basket of cajun fries which were just right to share! Everything was delicious. They also have sandwiches, baskets, and by-the-pound seafood. Customer service was great -- whether refills, more napkins, etc. So happy to try this new spot in Natomas, and this will not be my last visit! read more

We chanced upon Mr Crab when looking for a seafood restaurant and boy, what a surprise! In a good way! At first, we were a little shocked by the meal-in-an-oversized-bag table presentation. But once our server explained how best to attack the catch, the experience was both very tasty snow crab, scallops, corn and potatoes, and FUN. Dining here is a messy business, and the Mr Crab knows that. The first line of defense is a pair of plastic gloves and a bib for each diner. Then there's a roll of paper towels and a pail for your throw-aways. The tables are covered with paper to help absorb the unavoidable drips and drops. Lovely server, lovely atmosphere, it was my birthday lunch choice and my fiancé has a butter allergy so we understood that he may not be able to get anything but we asked anyway. The lovely server said they could do the grilled oysters and fries without butter not problem. But the kitchen kept putting butter on them and having to remake. This was not the servers fault as she told the kitchen and noted it several times. I was finished with my meal (with was great) before he ever got his so she took them off the bill and we got him something later. I knew this place was new to Natomas and had to try it out. We've ordered 1/2 dozen oysters and fried calamari to start off our taste buds. I ordered 2 lbs of crawfish (frozen) and 1 lb of shrimp. I got the classic cajun seasoning, non-spicy. Every pound of seafood, you get one corn and one potato. I got plenty of food and shared it with my husband. I was surprised by the size of the crawfish; some were huge in size! It wasn't spongy and dried like you would expect a frozen crawfish to taste like. It was meaty and had a bite to it. It tasted just fine to me! The service was awesome; our waitress was attentive and friendly! The decor was whimsical and fun to look at. When you're ready to clean up, they have a sink station outside of the bathrooms for you to wash up! I was surprised by how spacious that area was. The sink design was super cool! One of our favorite spots for seafood boil! I haven't tried the other fried dishes but we recommend trying the boils. Our favorite is the Combo C! The seafood is always fresh and the Mr. Crab signature sauce is packed with flavor and just a enough kick. Service is always pretty good. Even when we came during dinner time with a larger party our server was excellent. I can't remember her name but I believe she had a butterfly tattoo (her & my bf's granny bonded over their love of butterflies (= which was so sweet). Ambiance here is casual and family friendly!
